An old love. A new enemy. A looming threat to the entire MC.
The Dark Pharaohs and I have enough on our plates.
Kasey showing back up in town is the last thing I need.
My first love…
And only one.
The woman whose heart I broke when I enlisted and left all those years ago.
Only, the tension between us goes far beyond old anger and still-open wounds.
My heart and my body are still drawn to her.
A pull neither of us can deny.
But when the actions of her past threaten our future, and the future of the club…
Everything changes.
Flying bullets won’t stop me from protecting what’s mine.
Neither will the objections from my brothers who don’t understand.
This woman may be the death of me…but for her…
I’m willing to go down.

REVIEW: MONK is the first instalment in Ivy Black’s contemporary, adult DARK PHARAOHS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is Dark Pharaohs member Jacob ‘Monk’ Tulowisky, and twenty-seven year old, Kasey Singer-Deavers’ story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Jacob and Kasey) MONK follows the second chance relationship between Dark Pharaohs member Jacob ‘Monk’ Tulowisky, and twenty-seven year old, Kasey Singer-Deavers. Jacob Tulowisky and Kasey Singer were childhood/high school sweethearts but ten years ago, Jacob ghosted our story line heroine without an explanation or goodbye. Fast forward to present day wherein Kasey discovers that her husband, attorney Spencer Deavers, is currently working the wrong side of the law, and Kasey heads home, without looking back but Kasey’s return to Blue Rock Bay comes with the memories of the past, a past from which, she continues to hurt. Enter Dark Pharaohs members Jacob ‘Monk’ Tulowisky, and the man Kasey has never stopped loving. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Kasey and Jacob, and the potential fall-out as Kasey struggles to remain one step ahead of the Mexican Cartel.
Kasey Deavers wants a divorce but her husband isn’t willing to give up without a fighter. Stealing from her husband means stealing from his dangerous clients, clients who are demanding everything and more. Monk doesn’t do relationships, having loved and lost but rekindling his relationship with Kasey, means a second chance at happiness, even though there is currently a very large target on her back. Bringing in the Dark Pharaohs to help protect the woman he loves means exposing a past that he is unwilling to forget.
The relationship between Kasey and Jacob is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people torn apart by secrets and pain, and a lack of communication between family and friends. Monk aka Jacob has never stopped loving our story line heroine but asking for forgiveness may be more than dangerous than he could have ever imagined. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to Ivy’s father Sheriff Singer, and her soon to be ex-husband Spencer Deavers, as well as several members of the Dark Pharaoh’s MC: President Prophet, Poe, Cosmo, Trig (Sargeant at Arms) ,Cueball (Treasurer), Doc (VP), and prospect Max aka Domino. The requisite evil has many faces.
MONK is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, second chances, relationships, family and love. The premise is edgy; the romances is provocative ; the characters are strong-willed and intense.
