Told from three first person perspectives (Alexander, Deimos, Quinn) using present day and memories from the past, THE TATTOO ARTIST follows the building relationship between Alexander and Quinn. Approximately two years earlier, sixteen year old, Catholic school girl, Quinn Connor witnessed the beat down and murder of man outside of her bedroom window. Believing the perpetrator Is the killer known as Deimos, our heroine begins to fantasize about the ‘God of Terror’, a man she would not see for close to another two years. Bored and struggling with a direction in life, Quinn would accompany her best friend Sophia to a tattoo appointment where she will come face to face with her future in the guise of Alexander Hades but all is not as it appears to be, as Alexander’s slow seduction of Quinn is offset by Quinn’s fantasies involving the myth, the killer, known as Deimos.

The world building is complex and multi-layered. Alexander Hades is an enigma; a tattoo artist, an MMA fighter, a killer and a member of the Greek Mafia controlled by the Hades family. Quinn Connor is a naïve, Catholic school girl; a part time librarian with aspirations to be an artist, a young woman whose entire life is predicated on a series of secrets and lies. Protected by Alexander, lusting after Deimos, Quinn finds herself spiralling as the truth is slowly revealed.

The relationship between Quinn and Alexander is a slow building romance as Alexander tenderly seduces the woman with whom he has fallen in love but Alexander has secrets, deep, dark and dangerous secrets that once revealed may destroy his relationship with our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

We are introduced to Alexander’s brother: Aristotle and Sebastian: Quinn’s best friend Sophia Sutton; library employee Isaac; as well as Quinn’s ultra religious parents; her friend Owen Walsh, and several members of the Russian, Irish and Greek Mafia. The requisite evil has many familiar faces. There is some history between Sophia and Aristotle.

THE TATTOO ARTIST is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and madness, forgiveness, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, dramatic, twisty and intriguing; the romance is passionate and intoxicating; the characters are broken, disturbing, desperate and determined.

The relationship between Marco and Laura is one of the forbidden. Laura is unaware of Marco’s true identity, and in this, the titillation factor is palpable. For years Laura has locked herself away from the outside world but a little bit of freedom pushes Laura to cross a line of no return with her family’s enemy. Marco is a man on a mission-his need for Laura borders on obsession but blood will be shed, and Marco is caught in the middle. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense but I question Laura’s easy acceptance of Marco/Jackal in life under the circumstances and her over ten years of self-imposed seclusion.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including the return of Laura’s brother Don Simon Bianco (Stolen Sin 2), Elena Bianco (Brutal Power 3), Davide Bianco (Cruel Tyrant 1), as well as the introduction of several crime lords, and Marco’s best friend Valentina Santoro.

Mikey struggles to keep his distance from our story line hero, and to do this, Mikey is reckless in his treatment of our story line heroine, and Brandi believes she may have traded one jailer for another. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are dynamic and daring. We are reintroduced to Romeo and GraceDante De Salvo and his wife Iris: Christiano and Felicity, their mother Eleanora, as well as several other security specialists, and enemies. The requisite evil has many faces.

REVIEW: TAKING WHAT’S MINE by Siobhan is a stand alone, contemporary, adult , dark, Mafia romance story line set in the author’s Mazzone Mafia World with characters from The Accardi Twins Duet, and Vengeance of a Mafia Queen. This is forty-three year old Don Fiero Maltese, and twenty-four year old, Valentina Ferraro’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Valentina and Fiero) TAKING WHAT’S MINE follows the forbidden relationship between our story line couple. Florida Don Fiero Maltese wanted to claim Valentina Ferraro the moment they met but Valentina was married to an abusive man, so Fiero made Dominic Ferraro an offer he could not refuse-three days, five million dollars, and the company of our story line heroine. Believing her life would be forfeit, from the frying pan into the proverbial fire, Valentina made plans to run only to realize that life with Don Fiero Maltese is the life she has always wanted. Refusing to return Valentina to her husband, Fiero makes plans to take down the man who abused his wife. What ensues is the rapidly building romance and relationship between our story line couple, and the fall-out as the sins of the father are passed down to the son.

The world building reveals the horrific details and abuse suffered by our story line heroine: the circumstances surrounding her arranged marriage to Dominic Ferraro, and the strength of a woman determined to escape at all costs.

The relationship between Fiero and Valentina is one of immediate attraction but Valentina is married to another man, and Fiero is determined to claim the woman with whom he will fall in love. Taking action and vengeance for our story line heroine Fiero finds himself making plans to avenge our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are aggressive and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Massimo and Caterina (Vengeance of a Mafia Queen), Caleb Accardi , Bennett Mazzone; Fiero’s sibling Sofia, Tullia, Zumo and Rico, as well as Valentina’s husband Dominic and his son Cesco.

TAKING WHAT’S MINE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance,power and control, cruelty and abuse, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic and heartbreaking; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, sassy, and determined.
