ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 24, 2014
Tough, smart, and seriously ambitious, reporter Jacqueline “Jack” Dolan despises the secretive clan of shape-shifters known as the Ikati—and has become determined to destroy them. After she writes an editorial arguing for their extermination and turns public opinion against them, the Ikati vow to fight back. They plot to send one of their own to seduce the reporter, then blackmail her into writing a retraction.
Women practically fall at the feet of hulking, handsome Hawk Luna, and Hawk relishes the idea of conquering and destroying the fiery redhead who’s caused so much trouble for his kind. The last thing he expects is to develop real feelings for her, but their liaison awakens a hunger in him that he cannot deny. He kidnaps Jack and brings her to his Amazon jungle colony, but the two lovers are soon embroiled in deadly colony politics and threatened by a looming global species war.
As the danger around them grows closer, Jack and Hawk’s forbidden passion may build a bridge between two ancient enemies—or cost them both their lives.

REVIEW: DARKNESS BOUND is the fifth and second to last instalment in J.T. Geissinger’s contemporary, adult Night Prowler paranormal /UF series focusing on a supernatural species of panther shifters known as the Ikati. Facing off against a multitude of enemies, the Ikati must endure bigotry, specieism and discrimination at the hands of the frightened human population as well as one of their own. This is Ikati panther Hawk Luna, and reporter (and human) Jacqueline Dolan’s storyline.
Told from several distinct close third person POVs, the storyline focuses on Jacqueline’s (aka Jack) hatred of all things Ikati. Having written a Pulitzer Prize nominated article denouncing the panther shifter species, Jack will find herself the target of the very group she has destroyed in the eyes of public opinion. Hoping to make Jack see the error of her ways, the Ikati tribe (of Brazil) commission Hawk Luna to bring Jacqueline to her knees. What no one had expected was for Hawk to lose his heart to the woman who was hell bent on the destruction of his kind.
The relationship between Hawk and Jacqueline is combative, aggressive and at times bordering the edge of insanity. Their attraction to one another is instant; the sex is passionate and yet Hawk knows this is the woman who has placed a very large target on all of the Ikati around the world. When the entire Ikati species is threatened by one of their own, Jacqueline’s purpose is forgotten when everyone’s safety is placed in the hands of two small shifters whose powers have yet to be seen.
DARKNESS BOUND focuses on three intersecting storylines that will merge in the rainforests of Brazil where a power so strong will be unleashed against those trying to destroy the Ikati race. We watch as the Queen of the Ikati makes it her task to seek out those who are responsible for the possible demise of her people and in doing so, discovers that the next generation of Ikati may be more powerful than the last.
JT Geissinger pulls the reader into an emotional story of hatred and love; betrayal and forgiveness; walking away and letting go. Our leading couple are at polar opposites in the beginning but by the end of the story JT has found a small place in heart for a woman who only knew discrimination in a world torn apart by war and abuse-JT’s storylines will tug at your heart and make you think about the bigotry and abuse in the world-of which we live.

“It’s your fault for writing that article and pushing us into a corner and forcing our hand!” he shouted over her, stepping closer. He was furious, breathing hard, his eyes blazing green fire. “It’s your fault that I’m all upside down and inside out and can’t tell my ass from the end of my nose!”
“It must be hard since they both look alike!” Jack yelled, shaking in rage.
Hawk, vibrating rage back at her, stepped even closer and got right up into her face so they were staring at each other like two fighters in a ring waiting for the bell to sound. He shouted, “And it’s your fault for making me feel all these . . . horrible . . . feelings!”
Then he reached out, grabbed her, pulled her against his chest, and kissed her.
J.T. Geissinger’s debut novel, Shadow’s Edge, was published in 2012 and was a #1 Amazon US and UK bestseller in fantasy romance and romance series. She has been nominated for the prestigious RITA® award from the Romance Writers of America for best paranormal romance for her second book in the Night Prowler series, Edge of Oblivion.
A life-long lover of reading and a self-professed “book addict,” she didn’t realize her dream of writing a novel until a milestone birthday forced her to take stock of her goals in life. Always believing the right time to commit to putting pen to paper would magically announce itself, it took waking up one cold January morning with a shiny new zero as the second number in her age to kick start her determination.
Starting on that very day, she wrote what would become Shadow’s Edge in a little over four months and submitted it to several literary agents. Nothing happened. Thinking that was the end of that but by no means willing to give up on her dreams of being published, she began work on a second manuscript.
Then, during a trip to Italy in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary and the honeymoon she and her husband never took, she received an email that would change her life. It was from an agent, Marlene Stringer of Stringer Literary, and it contained the three words every aspiring author longs to hear: “I loved it.”
Marlene sold the manuscript to Montlake Romance who published it six months later. Hitting the #1 Amazon bestseller lists within weeks of publication, Shadow’s Edge was book one of the Night Prowler novels. Book two, Edge of Oblivion, was published in October 2012 and will be followed by Rapture’s Edge in June 2013, and Edge of Darkness in fall 2013. There are six books total planned for the series.
