Review:

I’ve read a few of Deborah Garland‘s books, but nothing from Darling Cove. I don’t think I missed anything from not reading the others in this series.

Must Keep You is the 5th book in this series and starts with Lily praying she’s not pregnant. After 5 years of knowing Carter, six months ago they took the plunge and started seeing each other, lily knows it won’t be forever, he said as much. Plus he’s a really rich guy, she’s not got the right pedigree to marry into the Holden empire. Lily knows he won’t want to be saddled with her and a baby. And as she has trust issues anyway (her adopted parents loved her intensely, until they had a biological child, Lily then got forgotten)she can’t let Carter get too close, it was only meant to be fun.

Carter isn’t your usual rich guy, he works and he works hard. He loves his mother and hates the fact she’s dying, but what really hurts is his father, he looks at his son as an investment m, but worse, he’s taking her money. And he feels like he’s on borrowed time…..

He thought lily was having a good time, he thought he was proving to her that what they had together meant more than just fun. And when Lily announces she’s pregnant, his gut told him “mine” then she throws out she’s leaving the place they both work at. What will it take for Carter to show Lily she means more than just a few fun nights. He wants more…..

The book plays out of a forty eight hour period. (Yes they’ve been seeing each other for six months, and known each other for five years)

I liked the fact is a dysfunctional family. Lily with her trust issues, but knowing she will be there for her baby. Carter the doting and caring son, but also the hot guy and potential father.

I liked the thought process that Lily went through. Didn’t like the thought she could terminate Carter’s rights. Liked how other friends and family members had their say, and valid points.

Carter’s family was a right mixed up bunch. A father who thought he was entitled to run his family like a dictatorship, wasn’t too keen on him. And when Carter asks her to be his “fake” fiancée! Will she help him out?

So will Lily let Carter see his baby? Will he be brave enough to fight for what he really wants?

Drawing Bloodlines by Deborah Garland – a Review

Drawing Bloodlines by Deborah Garland – a Review

Description:
He had to drink her blood . . .
Even though it meant revealing the monster behind his expensive suits. Now, Alexander must report his mistake to the allegiant commander. Elizabeth’s abduction will be swift unless he convinces the single mother he’s not a threat. He can be of use to her in the dark and in her bed. But can Alexander keep Elizabeth safe when he’s chosen to mate with a vampire from his troubled past?

Review:

Drawing Bloodlines by Deborah Garland is the first book in her new The Princeton Allegiant series.

Alexander is stunned at finding “her” she is a rare human, her blood is so sweet and special that vampires would do anything to taste it, even abduct the host to keep that sweet blood all for themselves. But he’s here to do a job, and he resists the temptation to “taste” the human in front of him.

But Alex has left it too long between feedings, and after a hundred years of being a vampire he should have known better. But surely a sip wouldn’t hurt …… But he gets caught drinking one of  Elizabeth’s vials !!! Finding out where she lives is easy, intending to wipe her memory Alexander moves in ……but when Elizabeth opens her eyes, he doesn’t see fear or condemnation, he sees want and lust …..

The connection between Elizabeth and Alexander reminded me of another author (Lara Adrian, her midnight breed) and when he finds out his new commander wants him for her “mate” he’s left feeling torn (the feelings he has for Elizabeth or duty to his race?)

Alexander has a few things up his sleeve, he’s not going to go down without a fight. The magic he holds left me a few questions……. (was he born with it? Or does he practice?) Could this be the key to his being able to stay with Elizabeth ? To find out if I get my questions answered, you’ll need to read it?

There were a few surprises along the way? (don’t want me to spoil it?) but a really well written book. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Review:

Must be Crazy by Deborah Garland is part of her Darling Cove series.  What a sweet sexy romantic read. This was a very enjoyable romance with a lot of humor, love and great characters.Skye has just started her new job at a law firm when her ex boyfriend Miles shows up wanting her to represent him against the contractor who built his house but messed up his bathroom and he won’t fix it. Skye doesn’t want anything to do with miles after the way he left her, but she needs the money so she says yes.Edward is a very handsome likeable guy;  he’s also town’s fire chief and a single father trying to raise his son Julian and he doesn’t have much time for romance.  Lately he’s been thinking about Skye a lot after having  met her over a year ago and has wanted on many occasions to ask he out on a date ,but she’s always surrounded by her family.

But when Skye accidentally starts a fire at her house it’s Edward to the rescue. He saves Skye and gets his first date with her!  There is a lot of  great chemistry between Edward and Skye;  they are spending more time together and the passion is steamy and hot too.

But when Skye finds out that Edward is the contractor that did Miles house it all blows up in their faces and if this isn’t bad enough Julian’s mother is back and she wants her son back and she’s not leaving without him. With so many things going on you have to wonder if Skye and Edward can get though it and still find happiness and oh yea there is  a secret that Skye has been keeping from her family and she must now decide to not only tell the family, but the man she has fallen in love with too. Will Edward still want her or leave like Miles?
