REVIEW:Yuletide at Moonglow is book six in The Moonglow Christmas Series by Deborah Garner. We are back at Moonglow and Christmas is quickly approaching. Preparation for this year’s festivities are underway. This series is a wonderful way to beginning the holiday season. It has become like Christmas with old friends. These stories center around Mist, is the owner of the Moonglow Café in the Timberton Hotel in Timberton, Montana. Mist is like a warm cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter’s night. She seems to be able to zero in on exactly what everyone she encounters needs. She is calm in the chaos.
She makes the Moonglow the magic that it is. And oh what magic!
Over the course of six books we have come to know the regulars who come for Christmas in Timberton. And as with every year there are new guests that are looking for connections and comfort at Christmas. This year something special is taking place. Timberton is hosting its first annual Yuletide Festival. What a magical way to explore more of the sights and sounds of the town.
I always look forward to seeing who the new guests will be each year. They each have a story. A need that Mist just seems to connect with. She knows how to make them feel completely at home while they are far from home. And she spreads the joy of Christmas with all who need it. I love the interactions among the hotel guests and towns people. There is just a connection there that you don’t find anywhere else.
As always, we have Betty, who owns the hotel. And she hosts the annual cookie exchange. What an amazingly fun way to share recipes for the holiday season. A complete list of the cookie recipes can be found at the end of the book. And everything sounds absolutely delicious.
There is magic in the pages of these books, a magic that tells you that the holidays can begin now. That among the chaos of the season there is calm. That you can find exactly what you need in the pages of this holiday book.
