ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 14, 2024

With just one fiery embrace I could destroy her…or love her until the end of time.

I am fire and death. My very presence brings terror and panic. For most, I am the last thing they will ever see. For there is only one thing I live for — freeing my kin.

Every action, every battle brings me a step closer. Nothing distracts me from my purpose.

Until she crosses my path.

Brave and fearless, she holds me utterly enthralled. I have to know her. Her past and her future. But especially the secrets she keeps closely guarded.

One taste of her lips, and I’m caught. Trapped. Seized. The more I’m with her, the harder it is to leave. But I have sworn allegiance to another who promises to free the dragons.

Her or my kin. It was once an easy choice.

Before my heart got involved.

REVIEW: THE BASTARD KING is the first instalment in Donna Grant’s adult THE BASTARD DUOLOGY paranormal, romance duet, set in the author’s THE DRAGON KINGS series. This is dragon shifter Derek and Kora’s story line. The BASTARD KING should not be read as a stand alone. I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise including the search for a missing King, and the history as to how the dragons came to live in Zora.

SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited in Zora, with their family and kin, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine, the people of Stonemore, and a woman known as Villette

Told from omniscient third person perspectives including Derek and Kora THE BASTARD KING follows Kora as she searches for the woman known as Villette, hidden behind the stronghold called Stonemore but along the way Kora is killed not once, but twice, and each time she believes she has been rescued by a man name Derek. As Derek aids Kora on her quest to find Villette, little does Kora know that Derek knows, and is more, than she could have ever imagined. Kora has her own secrets that she fears will send Derek into places unknown but Derek’s secrets are a threat to our heroine, a threat that grows stronger as Derek and Kora find themselves falling for one another on their journey to take down Villette.

The world building now focuses on the hunt for Villette: a need for avenge the past; and Derek’s discovery that he is not alone on his trek to free the dragon but Derek has been naïve to presume he is alone in the world, taking orders from a woman who plans to destroy them all.

The relationship between Kora and Dederick aka Derek begins as friends but neither one trust the other; both have secrets that could end their lives but Derek’s attraction to Kora cannot be explained by simple attraction. As the couple enters Stonemore, secrets and lies threaten their existence, betrayal comes at every turn. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters are numerous-most are questionable and often threatening and dangerous. A missing Dragon King is discovered, Villette and her sister Miena reveal their plans for the dragons.

THE BASTARD KING is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, magic and murder, mistrust and betrayal, vengeance and madness. The premise is detailed and complex; the romance is passionate but struggles in the face of secrets and lies; the characters are desperate and determined. THE BASTARD KING ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 9, 2024

She’s the most dangerous being alive…and the only one I crave.

I feel her across realms. Through the vast emptiness of space, weaving among the stars. She is the Queen of Violets. Powerful, shrewd, defiant. Utterly exquisite. Feared among her own and pursued by all.

She is the Dragon Queen.

I was an ordinary MI5 agent before being thrust into the world of Dragons Kings, Fae, Reapers, and magic. But it was a world I soon discovered I was bound to by blood from my Druid ancestors.

The instant we met, I was hers. Forever. I would have ripped the moon from the sky for her. I would have razed worlds. Then she deceived me.

Yet, I can’t stop thinking about her. Craving her. She’s in my very psyche, like a fever that burns through my veins like dragon fire. Scorching and eternal.

When I sense a malicious danger closing in around her, I defy every rule to get to her.

My love.

My queen.

REVIEW:DRAGON KISS is the seventh instalment in Donna Grant’s adult, DRAGON KINGS paranormal, fantasy romance series -a spin off from the author’s Dark Kings, which in turn is a spin off from several other fantasy series by the same author. This is Amethyst King Alasdair, and Lotti’s continuing storyline, and it pics up after the events of DRAGON ARISEN. DRAGON KISS should not be read as a stand alone but for back story I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise including the search for a missing King, and the history as to how the dragons came to live in Zora.

SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited in Zora, with their family and kin, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine and the people of Stonemore.

Told from third person perspective DRAGON KISS picks up immediately after the events of DRAGON ARISEN where in Alasdair and Lotti, along with Varek and his mate Jeyra continue their two-fold search the massirine stone, and the hunt for Dragon King Merrill but at every turn someone or something intends to take them down. A new enemy, a powerful invisible force, a beast of unknown origins, a ghost from the past, and the means to destroy the Dragon Kings finds our foursome struggling with their journey, and surviving.

The world building continues to focus on another powerful enemy of the Dragon Kings, one who is determined to take control by destroying everyone in their path. Similarly to many of the interconnected series, the DRAGON KINGS are missing one of their own, held captive by someone intent on ruling them all.

DRAGON KISS is a story of power and control, obsession and madness, family and friendships, determination and love. The premise is captivating and covers but a few hours in time; the characters are desperate and powerful.

Lotti would happily stay in Alasdair’s arms for eternity if she could. He had come into her life and shown her he was as solid and unmovable as the mountains. He shouldered her burdens without a second thought. All those decades she had wandered alone, forever watching others but never being a part of anything, had taken a toll. The loneliness itself had left scars, cutting deeper than any blade could.
Alasdair had changed all of that. He’d gained her trust, and with that, she’d learned not to fear her magic but to embrace it, accept it. It had been so simple. Her life could’ve been different had she done it years earlier. But the past was the past. There was no use looking over her shoulder and questioning her choices. It was time to be in the present.
And that meant finding a way out of the cave.
She closed her eyes as Alasdair’s fingers drifted lazily along her spine as she lay curled against his side. They could pretend the outside world, with all its dangers and threats, couldn’t reach them in the cave. It was a distraction they’d both needed, but it was time to get back to reality.
“I ken,” Alasdair murmured.
Lotti grinned at his deep voice and accent so different from anything she had ever heard on Zora. He had promised to take her to see his home in Scotland one day, and she couldn’t wait. “Reading my mind again?” she teased.
He kissed the top of her head. “I doona think that’s a gift I’d ever wish to have. I heard you sigh and know your thoughts are running along the same vein as mine.”
“We need to get back to Iron Hall.”
“Aye.”
She inhaled deeply and released it as she rose onto her elbow to look at him. “What does it say about me that I don’t want to leave this place?”
His gaze was tender as he gently smoothed her hair away from her face. “It doesna say anything, love. I doona wish to leave either.”
“Do you think there will ever come a time when we’re not fighting someone trying to harm the Kings or dragons?”
“Or those with magic,” he added. Alasdair shrugged and looked at the ceiling. “I’d love to say there will be, but the truth is that I doona know. We had times of peace on Earth, but nothing lasts forever.”
She leaned forward to kiss him, her lips lingering. Then she looked down at him again. “Then there’s only one thing for us to do.”
“And what’s that?”
“Fight when we must. And when we have peace, embrace every moment we’re given.”
Alasdair’s lips curved. “Doona forget the occasions we snatch for ourselves.”
“Never,” she said with a smile.
It would be so easy to kiss him again and give in to the desire once more, but they had taken as much time as they could. Lotti got to her feet and grabbed her clothes. She could have redressed in an instant, just as she’d removed everything earlier, but she wanted the time to consider their options.
She tucked the shirt into her body-skimming pants and fastened the leather vest that fit snuggly against her torso. Lotti sat on a boulder to put on her boots that reached her knees. Alasdair was already dressed in his all-black attire. He leaned a shoulder against the wall with his arms crossed, his gaze on her.
“How do you make everything so bloody sexy?” he asked.
Her stomach fluttered at the heat she saw in his eyes. She stood and grinned. “Just lucky, I guess.”

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Lennox and Ailis) IGNITE THE MAGIC introduces the back story and history when the Dragons makes first contact with someone from another realm. Lennox knew every creature on the realm, and the one before him wasn’t one of them. The being was small, seemingly harmless, but underestimating her would be his folly. He climbed out of the water, intending to investigate this new arrival—and what it wanted. His duty was to protect the dragons and the realm itself—from anything he deemed a threat. And until he knew differently, the newcomer was exactly that.
While he didn’t know what it was yet, his magic informed him that it was female. He took in her exotic look, finding it surprisingly appealing. Her thick hair fell nearly to her hips, the black strands woven with bright silver. Her oval face was both delicate and fierce—a combination that utterly intrigued him. Her crimson eyes were ringed in black, making her thick, midnight lashes more pronounced. She had high cheekbones, a stubborn tilt to her chin, and lips that drew his gaze again and again.
She wore garments to cover herself, which he found curious. Though he had to admit he liked the way they contoured to her body, showcasing every amazing curve. The article closest to her skin was so dark a green it was nearly black. Over that was a piece of black leather laced up her front to end in a V at her breasts, showing the green beneath it and then her beige skin.
Draped across her body was a length of leather with a bag attached at the end. Her legs were encased in black with material that looked as supple and pliable as skin. Her feet were also covered in leather, albeit thicker, the material going all the way up to her knees.
His gaze moved back to her mouth as she spoke. He frowned as he listened to the inaudible words. Lennox then noticed the iridescent orbs in each of her hands. He immediately realized it was magic of some sort. So, this female had magic as dragons did. Interesting.
She spoke again, and his power began to decipher the words.
“…well? Get on with it,” she demanded.
Lennox fought not to smile at her pluck. He wanted to talk to her, but dragons didn’t communicate as she did. No sooner had the thought gone through his mind than pain shot through him. Bones snapped, and muscles and ligaments tore. A bellow locked in his throat at the agony. It felt like it went on forever, and then it was just…gone.
He suddenly found himself no longer towering over the female. Lennox glanced down at himself to see that he looked like her. That wasn’t possible. He lifted his hands, expecting to see his long talons, but they were gone. As were his scales.
“Bloody hell,” she murmured, her voice soft with surprise.
He knew he was stunned. This had never happened before. He swallowed and worked his mouth as she continued eyeing him suspiciously. Lennox wanted to move, but he was still testing his new body. The last thing he wanted was to fall flat on his face. The female might just use those balls of magic on him.
Lennox flexed his fingers and squeezed his toes in the rocks that lined the shore. He rotated his shoulders before stilling as something landed against his cheek. He reached up to feel it. He tugged but discovered it was attached to his head.
“That’s your hair,” the female stated.
He looked at her black and silver locks and tried to see his. To his surprise, he could move it around enough to see that it was a golden hue.
“You understand me?”
Lennox’s gaze slid to her as he nodded. But he didn’t try for words. He touched his face. His long snout and sharp teeth were gone. Once more, hands drew his gaze. He rubbed his fingers along his thumb, captivated by the feeling. This was entirely different than what he experienced in his other form. There were thousands more sensations, each demanding his attention.

REVIEW: DRAGON ARISEN is the sixth instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS fantasy / paranormal romance series-a spin off from the author’s Dark Kings, which in turn is a spin off from several other fantasy series by the same author. This is Amethyst King Alasdair, and Lotti’s storyline. DRAGON ARISEN can be read as a stand alone but for back story I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise including the search for a missing King, and the history as to how the dragons came to live in Zora.

Told from third person perspective following several intersecting pathways, DRAGON ARISEN focuses on the continuing search for a missing King. Merrill went in search for answers as to why the dragons have been attacked by an unknown entity but has not been seen for several weeks. Desperate to find his ‘brother’, Alasdair volunteers to hunt for the missing King only to discover a young woman and baby, that is not her own. Struggling with the right thing to do in an effort to save the young child, Lotti offers the baby to Alasdair having no idea as to his true identity. Alasdair believes he has discovered his fated mate but the ‘humans’ have been taught to fear the dragons, and once revealed, the truth is about to pull our couple apart but all is not well, and Lotti unearths a possible location for Alasdair’s missing friend, a location that is about to reveal more than anyone could have every imagined. What ensues is the search for Merrill, and the potential fall-out as a new enemy is on the hunt for our heroine, and in doing so, reveals the true nature of the existence of dragons.

The relationship between Lotti and Alasdair begins acrimoniously. Lotti has lived most of her life as an outcast, alone, and without the love of family and friends. Meeting Alasdair gives Lotti a hope for the future but the truth about her life and her story reveals that Lotti is something more than human, something more than the dragons had known. Alasdair is desperate to find his missing ‘brother’ but secrets reveal that Merrill may not be missing at all. Someone is controlling the people of Stonemore, and Merrill may be caught in the middle of the war. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic, magical and familiar secondary and supporting characters as well as the introduction of several new supernatural powers, powers that reveal the history of man and dragonkind. Merrill has been discovered but refuses to return believing his mission has yet to be accomplished.

DRAGON ARISEN is a multi-faceted story with several intersecting plot lines, and the introduction of something new. The history of the dragons as had been previously revealed goes deeper and darker with a connection to the creator, who goes by many names, a creator that reveals itself to our story line couple. The premise is detailed, complex and intriguing; the romance is subtle; the characters are desperate, determined and dynamic.

REVIEW: DRAGON LOVER is the fifth instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal/fantasy romance series-a spin off from the author’s Dark Kings series. This is Sienna Dragon King Kendrick, and Elf/Asavori Ranger Esha’s story line. DRAGON LOVER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout including the search for a missing King.

Told from third person perspective DRAGON LOVER follows the building relationship between Sienna Dragon King Kendrick, and Elf/Asavori Ranger Esha. Dragon King Kendrick has crossed the boundary between the land of the dragons known as Idrias aka Zora, and the land of the elves known as Shecrish in his search for a common enemy, a powerful creature that kills and destroys without ever being seen. Meeting Elf Ranger Esha brings Kendrick up close and personal with his future, his mate, but Kendrick’s appearance in Shecrish marks the beginning of a divide between factions of elves, a divide that is a prelude to war. When Esha’s sister Savita, an elven Reader who can ‘read the runes’ reveals death and danger are in their future, Esha must come to terms with who she is and what she wants going forward. The dragons are perceived as a threat to the elves, and the people in charge are willing to kill to protect their power.

Meanwhile, Kendrick finds a friend in Dain, a Dark Elf who is able to gather information when and where no one else can. With the ability to ‘ride the shadows’ Dain, along with Kendrick and Esha traverse deep underground where the darkness hides another dangerous foe.

The relationship between Kendrick and Esha is one of immediate attraction but as a Ranger Esha has sworn a vow to never marry or fall in love. Kendrick knows Esha is his fated mate but remaining with the woman he loves means placing her in the direct line of fire. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Con and Rhi, Vaughn and Eurwen, as well as the introduction of Elven Reader Savita and Dark Elf Dain.

DRAGON LOVER is a story of power and political control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is entertaining and enthralling; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are energetic and dynamic.

Donna Grant is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the sizzling Dark King series featuring dragons, immortal Highlanders, and the Fae.

She was born and raised in Texas but loves to travel. Her adventures have taken her throughout the United States as well as to Jamaica, Mexico, and Scotland. Growing up on the Texas/Louisiana border, Donna’s Cajun side of the family taught her the “spicy” side of life while her Texas roots gave her two-steppin’ and bareback riding.

Despite deadlines and voracious reading, Donna still manages to keep up with her two children, four cats, and one long haired Chihuahua.

REVIEW:DRAGON ETERNAL is the fourth instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal/fantasy romance series-a spin of from the author’s Dark Kings series. This is King of the Sapphire Dragons Shaw, and human female Nia’s story line. DRAGON ETERNAL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion. The author does reveal the history between the dragons and humans.

SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited with their family and kin in Zora, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine and the people of Stonemore.

Told from third person perspective DRAGON ETERNAL follows King of the Sapphire Dragons Shaw as he and Dragon King Merrill are tasked with uncovering the truth behind the power and purpose of the Divine. In Stonemore, children with magic are put to death, and in this, the Dragons want to end the killings before more children and magic are destroyed but Shaw never expected to meet Nia, a young woman supposedly cherished by the Divine, a young woman ordered to seduce our story line hero. Nia knew that to gain her freedom she would have to obey the Divine’s missive but Nia quickly found herself falling for a Dragon King, the beast she was ordered to seduce and captivate. Not all was going according to plan as Shaw fell for the woman who could have been his enemy, a woman he knew he would claim as his own. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Nia and Shaw, and the potential fall-out as the Divine and his minions are desperate to capture a Dragon King for their own.

Meanwhile, Merrill has been working his way through the streets of Stonemore, in an effort to uncover the who, how and why of the Divine but Merrill has gone missing, and the Dragon King may be the next target for the Soldier Priests of the Divine. As Merrill searches for the truth, King of the Dragon King’s son Brandr, has ventured on his own, in an effort to ferret out an enemy he knows nothing about.

The relationship between Nia and Shaw is predicated upon a lie and an obsession. Nia is ordered to seduce our story line hero, and Shaw finds himself falling for a woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are limited but intimate and passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including a number of the Dragon Kings we have met in the Dark Kings series, as well as Con and Rhi, alchemist Sian, Tamlyn and Cullen, Merrill, Villette, Henry the Druid, and the return of Teal Dragon King Vaughn, and his mate half fae-half dragon hybrid Eurwen, Eurwen’s brother and twin Brandr, and Nia’s hand maiden Sadie. The requisite evil has many faces.

DRAGON ETERNAL is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, relationships, friendships, family and love. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is fated; the characters are powerful and charismatic.

Cairnkeep

Shaw stood with his eyes closed on the cliff near Cairnkeep and listened to the dragons. The flaps of their wings, their roars as they called to one another, and the whoosh as they flew. He had missed the sounds the most.
He drew in a deep breath and slowly released it, enjoying the feel of the sun upon his face. The dragons’ peaceful noises calmed the rage inside him. Most of his Dragon King brethren pretended that fury didn’t exist. But it was there.
Always.
Until now. For the first time in ages, he felt as if things were back to normal.
Except, they weren’t.
They were far from it, actually. Yet, for this moment, he could pretend as if they were on Earth, that the dragons had never been sent away, and that they had never heard of humans.
Sadly, all of that was simply wishing. Because the mortals had come, there had been a war, and the dragons had been sent away. For so long, Shaw, like many Dragon Kings, had feared they would never find their dragons again.
He opened his eyes and looked at the mountains around him. Zora. A realm the Dragon Kings only recently discovered that had been the dragons’ home since that fateful day on Earth. Zora was a spectacular realm. Majestic mountains, breathtaking plains, stunning forests, and everything in between. Every vista was dazzling in its splendor. The sky was brighter, the oceans bluer, the grass greener.
Shaw felt whole once more. And it was all because he was with the dragons.

REVIEW:  DRAGON UNBOUND is the third instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal/fantasy series-a spin off from the author’s DARK KINGS series. This is garnet dragon Cullen, and banshee Tamlyn’s story line. DRAGON UNBOUND can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a running premise throughout.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Cullen and Tamlyn) DRAGON UNBOUND follows garnet dragon Cullen as he is tasked by Constantine, King of the Dragons, to search for an unknown enemy that has targeted the dragons living in Zora, the world beyond the portal where the dragon descendants continue to reside but Cullen quickly discovers that things are much worse than he could have ever imagined when the evil hunting the dragons is now focusing on any child believed to be capable of magical powers. Enter banshee Tamlyn, a young woman who ‘hears’ the screams of the children as they face their death, a death Tamlyn is desperate to try and prevent. With the help of our hero, Tamlyn will enter the walled city where the children are being held captive, a city that is hiding a dangerous and invisible secret. What ensues is the building relationship between Cullen and Tamlyn, and the potential fall-out as Tamlyn struggles to save all the children, and the source of the evil is as yet, unknown.

The relationship between Tamlyn and Cullen is one of immediate attraction but Cullen is not welcome in Tamlyn’s cloistered life. Along with an alchemist and an Amazon, Tamlyn is all that is between the young children and death, and in this, Cullen is seen as a deterrent and possible spy for those capturing and killing the children with a magical power. When Cullen reveals his true identity, Tamlyn finds herself working alongside in an effort to save the children from any further harm. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to alchemist Sian, and Jenefer the Amazon, and the return of Teal Dragon King Vaughn, and his mate half fae-half dragon hybrid Eurwen, Eurwen’s brother and twin Brandr, as well as the King of Dragons Con. The requisite evil has yet to be revealed.

DRAGON UNBOUND is a story of power, control, evil and obsession. The premise is dark and intriguing; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic and intense.

“Who are you?” he asked, his blue eyes wide with fear.
“Tamlyn. I’m here to help you.”
He glanced at the door. “No one can help me.”
“I climbed this wall for you. We can go down together, or you can stay here and see how things turn out.”
He shook his head before she finished. “I don’t want to stay. But…”
“I know,” she said softly. “It’s scary. There’s a chance we won’t make it. But it’s a choice you alone can make.”
He lifted his chin, his slim shoulders squaring. “I’ll do it.”
“Good lad,” she said with a wink. “I’m going to get into place. I need you to climb out and onto my back. Be sure to close the window.”
He glanced down and then nodded jerkily.
“You can do this,” Tamlyn told him.
That seemed to bolster him. She flexed her fingers and hoped she would be able to maintain her grip with his added weight. Tamlyn held onto the sill and dropped down, using her arms to hold her until she got both her footholds.
“All right. Come on,” she urged.
The boy climbed out and scooted to the edge of the sill on one side of her. He closed the window behind him.
“Good,” she said with a nod. “Now, get onto my back. Use my body however you need to, but make sure you have a good hold on me. Just be careful not to choke me.”
The instant he told her that he was in place, she began climbing down. She hadn’t gotten very far when she realized that she would never be able to hold them both. Her fingers were slipping, and her arms were shaking so badly she could barely move them.
And then she lost her grip.
Air rushed past them as they plummeted to the passageway below. Just before they hit, they jerked to a stop. Somehow, they hung suspended in midair for a heartbeat before falling the last few feet. The impact jarred her, but nothing like what could’ve happened.
She sat and turned to the boy. “Was that you?”
He shrugged. “Maybe.”
“Thank you.” She jumped to her feet. “Come on. We’ve got to get out of the city.”
Those at Stonemore didn’t know who was rescuing the children, but each time she came to the city, there was something else that hadn’t been there before. This time it was the soldiers in the forest. What would be next? They would catch her eventually. Until then, she would save as many as she could.
She took the boy’s hand and turned to retrace her steps. The only way out was to go down, and that meant walking across the empty square again. She kept a tight hold of the boy while also making sure their steps were easy and casual. One of the nearby soldiers turned to look at them. He started toward them, but another soldier told him to forget them. No doubt those two would be in trouble shortly, but she couldn’t let her thoughts linger on that. By her reckoning, everyone who didn’t stop the sacrifices was complicit.
