Description:
Aidan Ross might be an engineering genius, but people skills? Not this soldier’s forte. Thankfully, a trusted friend is accompanying him to a make or break tradeshow…but then a bubbly redhead hops into his truck, claiming to be his new road trip buddy. She’s a gorgeous distraction he can’t afford. Or ignore.
Delaney Harper comes from a family of engineer’s—male engineers. With several impressive projects under her belt, she’s on a mission to prove she can hang with the big boys, too. But cracking the sexy, closed-off CEO is tougher than she expects…and hotter than she could have imagined.
With the tempting woman disrupting his carefully planned schedule, Aidan can’t focus on the road, much less their upcoming presentation. The future of his company is riding on this trip, and if they’re to land a huge account, he has to keep his head—and his heart—in the game…
Review:
Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander is part of her Driven to Love series. Delaney needs to prove to her whole family that she can do this job, she has no intention of becoming a housewife and mother! She wants to be like her dad, her brothers and her grandfather. They are all engineers and so is she. She has been working so hard to prove to her family and herself and she loves her job..
She now has an ideal opportunity. Her boss has food poisoning and with a little crafty planning, she makes sure that she will be the one giving the presentation at a highly prestigious and important trade show . . . she just has to get through this drive with the CEO.
The CEO is Aidan Ross and he may build beautiful buildings, and he may be an engineering genius but totally useless at interactions with people, just ask his ex wife, in fact the name Ice Man is perfect for him. He is not impressed with the fact he will have to drive to the trade show with a young woman, he was expecting one of his managers Harold. She irritates him, she eats in his truck for goodness sake! Its going to be a looooooooong drive.
Delaney proves to be a feisty, and determined young lady, a talented engineer and skilled developer. But she is proving to be a temptation, and an unwanted distraction. As the attraction between the two heats up, the journey to the trade show just gets a little more trickier for both parties. Delaney wants a career, and Aidan just wants to be left alone.
Yes this has a predictable outcome, but the journey getting there explores both characters, their flaws and their insecurities.
Aidan tries to be the gentleman whilst Delaney wants to be treated as an equal.(she can carry just as much, and why shouldn’t she open doors, and does she really need a help up in to the big truck?) characters are complex, their journey has a few chuckle moments.
And the plot has enough twists to keep you engaged.
If you like to read about a strong independent woman, the opposite of a needy, snivelling, desperate to be married female , then pick this one and enjoy.
