ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 26, 2024

Unfortunately, the road to happily ever after can be just as rough as the road to ruin…

Daisy has a history of escaping one bad situation only to find herself in another. Most of those situations involve men. So, when a dangerously hot biker insists on helping her escape her latest nightmare, she’s skeptical of his intentions. Trust is a luxury she just can’t afford. No matter how much he makes her wish she could…

Falcon and his MC don’t tolerate violence against women, but that isn’t the only reason he rescues Daisy. Truth is, he just can’t ignore her—not even when he should be hunting down whoever murdered his club president. Now, he’ll do anything for her. Anything but let her go, that is…

Can a woman who has only known pain and betrayal open her heart to the possibility of love? Falcon is about to find out…

Welcome to Destiny’s Enforcers MC where the men are morally grey, accidental anti-heroes, committed to the club, and fall hard for the women who cross their paths and usually bring a little chaos with them.

In a world where loyalty rules all, how do you know where it should lie?

Lacy enjoyed staying at the clubhouse of the motorcycle club that rescued her and her friend. She also enjoyed the company of the club’s VP, Eagle. He was the one that took her in and made sure she had whatever she needed. Everything except his heart. She knew he didn’t owe her anything and had already done so much, but she couldn’t help but wish he felt something for her. She tried to hold on, remembering all he did for her, but she started wondering if she deserved better.

Eagle was a man of honor, and never made promises he didn’t intend to keep. He had moved his way up to Vice President of his club by showing loyalty and commitment to all things Destiny’s Enforcers. The recent assassination of the club’s president was still unsolved, and they were trying to locate the new crime ring that popped up in town. Not to mention, they knew there was a rat on the inside but hadn’t found out who it was. He had no time or desire for an Old Lady. Even if he wanted to, getting involved wouldn’t be fair to Lacy. At least that’s what he kept telling himself.

When Lacy decides she can’t stick around and keep getting hurt, regardless of how much Eagle had done for her, it breaks her heart but she believes it’s time to be loyal to herself. Even though Eagle thought he didn’t want anything more, he doesn’t take the news of Lacy’s absence well and it starts to affect his responsibilities as VP.

Can he get his head on straight long enough to win her back before someone else gets hurt, taken, or worse?

REVIEW: EAGLE is the second instalment in April D Berry’s contemporary, adult DESTINY’S ENFORCERS MC: ATLANTA CHAPTER erotic, MC romance series. This is tattoo artist and VP Eagle aka Eddie, and exotic dancer Lacy’s story line. EAGLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Eagle and Lacy) EAGLE focuses on the building but struggling relationship between Destiny’s Enforcers MC Vice president Eagle, and exotic dancer Lacy. Several months earlier, Lacy, along with her best friend Daisy (FALCON #1) were rescued by club members Falcon and Eagle but Eagle’s attempts at seducing Lacy ended with Lacy walking out of Eagle’s life, in an attempt to find her own independence. Struggling with what happened and why, Eagle battles between head and heart knowing he hurt the woman with whom he is falling in love but all is not well in the world of the MC, they suspect a mole in the brotherhood, and our heroine will be caught in the middle.

The world building follows the tempestuous relationship between our story line couple. Lacy is hoping for something more but Eagle’s inability to show emotion pushed Lacy out of his life In an effort to start anew, Lacy takes her first steps towards independence but steps that will place her in the direct line of fire.

The relationship between Eagle and Lacy begins as a rescue, along with the rescue of Lacy’s friend Daisy. Eagle is determined to claim Lacy as his own but his actions belie his growing love for our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.

Most of the previous story line characters return as well as the introduction of Eagle’s father Jimmy, Lucy’s friend Shiv, and new enforcer Jackal. The requisite evil has many faces.

EAGLE is a story of struggle and acceptance, family and friendships, betrayal and obsession, relationships and love. The premise is melodramatic and tragic; the romance is passionate; the characters are desperate, determined and struggling.

He’s prideful, rich, and next in line to be king of the eagles.
She’s an eensy bit prejudiced, and a lot rock and roll.
What these two City of Angels’ supernaturals are about to discover is that there is so much more to a person than what meets the eye.

Eagle Fitzwilliam Ambustus is controlled, precise, and direct. He doesn’t have the time nor the emotional wherewithal to be anything other than who he is. Others think him cold and unfeeling, but that’s just the surface. Beneath his suits, he is so much more.

Elizabeth Argueta is a free spirit. She’s a rock and roll, go-with-my-flow drummer on a mission to live life to the beat of her own drum. And most importantly, she’s got a view of the world that sets her firmly apart from the rich and the clingy of the L.A. scene.

When these two meet, it might be sparks-at-first-sight, but they’ll have to get over their pride and their prejudice to not only overcome those trying to keep them apart but also to understand and come to love each other … just as they are.

Note: The first book in the Shifter Kings L.A. series is short, sassy, sexy, shift-tastic, and a whole lot of rock and roll … with a little Pride and Prejudice thrown in.

REVIEW: That was such a refreshing read.

Eagle is rigid, everything in his world is ordered, nothing out of place.
Manages a band (I was surprised, thought him more of a tall office building millionaire) just waiting till it’s his turn to rule. He’s going to do things different.

Iz, Izzy, (Elizabeth to other people not family) beats out a rhythm on whatever is to hand.
She’s a Dabbler witch, she suppresses it for most of the time.
A free spirit with a wicked sense of humour.

The hierarchy of L.A is fascinating especially the witches ….. The Queens are at the top, then their families, then the elements (air, water) Judges, charisma, siphons, scholars, and then the lowest Dabblers, they are the witches that can do it all, but not well.

I love Elizabeth, such a free spirit, nothing much gets her down. She comes from a loving family, has a close knit of friends, and gets to jam with friends, what’s not to love? Her look on life “the haves” these are people who are poor, but they are rich in love, family and (have a rich life) “the have-nots” these are the rich, they only have artificial friends and empty lives, and the “clingers” these are the people who cling to the rich!!

I took a while to warm up to Eagle, his past was littered with brutal beatings and vicious put downs. His father the king was literally a beast!! So I could see why he was so rigid. I was surprised he was friends with the band he manages (I thought he’d be too uptight for musicians) his wanting to bring his family and people up to date, but in a kinder way had me smiling. He’s totally opposite of his tyrant of a father/king.

They first meet in the street, she’s playing with friends (bongo drums) they see each other, both swear there is a connection, but neither go for it.

We also have the never ending debate on whether shifters should come out to the world. Eagle is a firm believer that they should stay hidden. I’m sure it’s going to be an ongoing debate.

It’s well written, flows at a steady pace. I love the formal way Eagle talks, the intense emotions that both pull from each other. Your hoping that Eagle gets his Queen

I have a inkling it’s a spin off from the previous series (Shifter Kings Nashville) I don’t think it’s going to matter if you haven’t read the previous series.
But I’m interested now, I might have to go back and read ?

Short story but packed with lots going on.

Grizz
Shifter Kings L.A. Book 2

Release Date: March 10, 2020

Goodreads

A grizzly who’s out to find a perfect queen.
A shy tabloid writer with a dark secret.
Throw in a meddling ghost, a town full of bear shifters, and a vacation in a Gothic mansion and what could go wrong?

Grizzwold Rochester Ambustus is a rock god (or on his way to becoming one)—and the future king of the Grizzly tribe. He’s also world-weary and determined to find a queen who is as angelic and pure as can be.

Esly Ryan is a witch—she’s just not a good one. Good thing this shy bookworm has a day job that keeps her in shifter romances and puts a roof over her head. While Esly may spend her days spinning tales of happily ever after, her own HEA doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

She’s got a secret.

One so dark that, when she finally meets the king she’s waited her whole life for, it might remind him that she’s not the angel he seeks. She’s the madness he despises.

Note: The second book in the Shifter Kings L.A. series is not short, but it is sweet, sassy, sexy, shift-tastic, and a whole lot of Rock ‘n’ Roll … with a little Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester thrown in.

••••••••••

REVIEW: We met Grizz in “Eagle” (book 1) a singer in a band, managed by his “brother” Eagle. He does cover versions of other people’s songs. But he has a secret, he writes his own stuff (but finds it too personal to publish) he’s happy where he is, he gets to be who he wants, and in thirty days time, he’ll become King of the Grizzly bears.

Esly is a cousin to Elizabeth, (who was heroine in book 1) she loves to read, she loves her books. A romantic at heart, but will that transfer it’s self to writing a book? No it won’t, she can write her blog with no problem, an article for the paper she works at, not an issue, but the artist in her that needs to write a love story has so far evaded her!

He’s been having dreams for the last five years of a ghost called Jane. One week a year, but each year it becomes more and more intense. He is convinced if he can find out about the ghost, he can find the real person after Jane told him she’s a witch and she can astral project.

He is convinced he is in love with her he wants to make her his queen. But he can’t live with a ghost, he needs to find a living person.

But how in the hell can you find her when he doesn’t know who she is?

Her whole life she feels something is missing, she’s got a mental block, something in her past was terrible, so it’s been blocked, but she know something happened. And the scary thing…. she loses time! Sometimes it’s an hour, and sometimes it can last a whole day! Where she goes and what she does Elsy has no idea, but her vault at home holds all those secrets!!

I liked the first book in this series “Eagle” but I loved this one.

Elsy is two sided, although she thinks herself as a dark person and tries her hardest to be light, I see her as light.
Yes she has a secret, yes she tries to keep her family happy, but she has a hidden strength.

Does she find out who she really is? Will she find out why she loses time? You’ll need to read to find out.

Grizz is my favourite character, he knows his potential, he’s just scared to put it out there. Being adopted into the eagle clan, he gained a family, but with physical and mental abuse from the eagle king, it made him turn in on himself.

Loved the idea of falling for a ghost, and had a laugh out moment when they meet in the flesh!

Superbly written, told from both points of view, the author gets the angst and passion across really well.

Like the idea of knowing you’ve got only thirty days once your tattoo darkens you finding your Queen. The faded marks on the female is good, most supernaturals know what the mark stands for, but in Elsy’s case she thinks it’s just a birthmark.

Can’t wait to read the next book “Heavy”, and hoping note books are in the pipeline.

Highly recommend this book.

He’d give up his kingdom for her.
She’s been in love with him since he first held her hand.
But fate has always kept them apart … until now.

Henrietta Richland dropped everything to chase her dreams of being the new guitarist for Shyfter. But just like in real life, outside of her music, she’s running blind. She’s also running toward the only person she’s ever loved.

Heavy Allen would have given up everything for Henry. She wouldn’t let him. And now, ten years later, she’s back in his life, digging her lioness claws into his heart once more. He hasn’t spent one minute looking for his queen, and with twenty-one days to go … he has to wonder, does that mean something?

Full of angst, this beauty and beast are about to get a dose of reality–and it will be everything glorious.

Note: The third book in the Shifter Kings L.A. series is short, sweet, sexy, shift-tastic, and a whole lot of Rock ‘n’ Roll … with a giant beast and a sassy beauty for your reading pleasure.

••••••••••••

REVIEW: Heavy is in the band that Eagle manages and Grizz sings in.

He’s known the guys for a while now, not as long as they’ve known each other, but he’s comfortable with them. He had their back and knows they have his. The names Eagle and Grizz have explain what they are, but Heavy? I did think elephant! But no, he’s a boar shifter!

Henrietta “Henry” is Lion’s sister (first book in the Shifter Nashville series) she’s know everyone a long time, and has had a crush on Heavy forever, but she’s not his mate so she pushed him away until he left!! Why, you ask, well, she was born with a disease that was killing off her senses, until it reaches her blood, and then she’s dead! She also knew deep down she would never be his queen (she has no crown shaped birthmark) so after he left Nashville and his friends, Henry got on with her life, but with a boar shaped hole in her heart.

And when Henry comes back to the group as a band member, fireworks are bound to happen. Both Henry and Heavy can’t help being drawn together, so is the reason Heavy isn’t in a rush to find his Queen standing in front of him? His clan need him though, he has to put aside his wants and needs for the moment, someone else has the same disease Henry has, but unlike Henry, this boar isn’t looking so good. What made Henry survive, when others have perished?

This book although short like the other two is full to the brim with anger and passion. You forget it’s just a short story, but it’s filled with more than just sex! It’s great that we see the couples from the previous stories. It also hints at the previous series, (but not so much that you feel something is missing).

Really well written, it puts an Victorian feel to the books (very much a Jane Eyre novel) but with a modern twist.I loved the character of Heavy, he’s been with us through the last two books, very much a solid and stable character, not much irritates him.

Henrietta is more complex, thank goodness for the prologue as I would have thought it too much for a short story. This story is the saddest of them all (and I wasn’t sure they would get a happy ending) unrequited love, they had been best friends since childhood, first loves, and confidant’s. Almost a Romeo and Juliette type of story. A forbidden and doomed love story.

With every chapter they seem to grow further apart…..

There is also the matter of becoming public, will it be by their hand or unseen forces?

I’ve loved reading these stories and I hope Snake gets a book. I’m also hoping the cousins and roommates get their books too.

Another book I’d highly recommend.
