Fire Bonded by M.A. Abraham – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Apple

Description:

Lyra and Raine live on a mountain, next to a ski resort where they teach snow sports on a daily basis. It’s a perfect foil for two Ice Elves who are Guardians of the last portal. Things get interesting when Telion and Riven arrive to escort the two women who are their Life Mates to the Elven Empire. There they find that not only is the portal weak, but inaccessible. As things turn from bad to worse, they are left with no choice but to travel to the deep north to find Pianth. They are about to find out this is the least of their concerns, for even when they finish with their task, they learn the Elven Empire is preparing to go on a move that is bonded by fire.

Review:

Fire Bonded by M.A. Abraham is the 4th novella in her Elven Sentinel series.  The previous novellas do read very well as a stand-alone, as enough information is given early on.   Refresher:  The Sentinels are elves who were sent to live secretly in the human world, and as the parents pass, the children step forward. These elves (pretending to be human) are scattered all over the world to watch over and protect the portals across the land to prevent anyone entering the Elven Empire.   In Fire Bonded, we get to see the last of the elves who were responsible to keep an eye on the portal.

Lyra and Raine are the two final elves (fire elves), and they live near a ski resort to teach skiing.  The first of the Sentinels who arrives to greet them, is Telion and he is Raine’s Lifemate.  Shortly thereafter, Corolon arrives and meets his Lifemate, Lyra.   The men have been sent by Lothrail to rescue the remaining girls, get the books needed, and return to Elven Empire.   But things are not going to be easy, since the portal has weakened, and a major threat has their eye on them.

Arya, a powerful demon, survived the attack of her leader in the last book; and now with information that he left her, and learning how powerful she really is; she is determined to find those who have the ability to enter the portal to a magical world.

Corolon, senses the demon following them, and tries to get the four of them to find the books and leave.  However, Arya was not to be denied, and holds them hostage, with a gun pointed at one of the ladies, and the men are protective of their Lifemates.    What follows is an intense battle to protect themselves from the evil threatening their lives, and find a way to return home.  Arya was an evil villain, not to mention very powerful.  Will Lothrail be able to help them escape, and what happens if Arya manages to enter the portal to the Elven World?

Fire Bonded was an exciting and excellent ending to this series.  I did enjoy the four main characters, as they were fun, and accepting their Lifemates.  As always, I love seeing Gabriella, even if it’s for a very short period.  If you have not read the earlier books, I suggest you start with the first book (Earth Bonded), in order to fully understand.  Fire Bonded was very well written by M.A. Abraham.

Description:
Jenna, Julia, and Alissa are three orphans who were taken in by an elderly couple. The land they live on has been theirs for centuries, it is where they have stood guard over one of the last few portals in existence. They can see the nimbus that marks its location from their farmhouse, and like the others of their calling, they refuse to leave it untended.

Riehl, Goldier, and Falcon know what and who they are looking for. Disguised as apple pickers, the Elven males arrive to find their Life Mates being held at gunpoint. The weapons the enemy is using is beyond their experience and they will have to handle the situation with great care and without exposing their Life Mates to even more danger.

Review:

Air Bonded by M.A. Abraham is the 3rd novella in her Elven Sentinel series.  Though this is the third book in this series, if you have not read the earlier books, this does read very well as a stand-alone; with enough information to keep you up on the story.  Refresher:  The Sentinels are elves who were sent to live secretly in the human world, and as the parents pass, the children step forward. These elves (pretending to be human) are scattered all over the world to watch over and protect the portals across the land to prevent anyone entering the Elven Empire.  The Elves of the Elven Empire had no idea about the elves sent to the human world, centuries ago, and now with demons determined to discover how to get into the Empire, these elves lives are in danger.

The story continues when Gabriella and Lothrail send three (Goldier, Riehl,Falcon) of their warriors to the human world to find the three ladies (Jenna, Julia, Alissa) who have continued to protect the portal against everyone, keeping the secret, as well as hiding the books that could reveal too many secrets.  The goal of the men, besides knowing that they will find their Lifemates, is to protect them, and get them back to the elven world, thereby closing this portal.   The three girls are already in danger, with the demons holding them as hostage, determined to find the portal and the books.

When the Elves arrive, they sense that the girls are in danger, and pretend to arrive at the scene as boyfriends who have just returned from another apple picking job.  What follows is an intense battle to save the girls, as well as protect themselves from the evil threatening their lives.  When one of the warriors is shot, they need to find away to save him, and manage to escape; at the same time, get the girls to prepare the books to be ready to take with them.  I really did like all six of the leading characters, and it was fun to see them recognize their Lifemates.

Air Bonded was another good story in this series, and though it was brief, I always enjoy seeing Gabriella.  Air Bonded was another short story, that was very well written by M.A. Abraham. I think this story line will end with the next book, and the final portal to be found.

Review:

Water Bonded by M.A. Abraham is the 2nd book in her Elven Sentinel series.  Though this is the second book in this series, if you have not read the first book, this does read very well as a stand-alone.

Hawk and Adriel (our heroes) are playing a volleyball game, men and women against each other by a beach, with all human (they do not know that Hawk and Adriel are Sentinel Elves) players.  When the girls are close to losing, they start cheering two friends joining them; Caia and Thea (both unknown to them, are Elves).  Immediately the four of them realize they are their life mates, with the guys having been searching for the women that are part of the protectors of one of the remaining portals.

Once the game is over, the four of them head out to the sea (they are water elves) to a place that is safe for them to discuss the attacks being made on them from Demons.  Once they reach a cave, Hawk and Adriel explain that the Elven Empire is trying to bring back all elves that have lived all these years back home to safety, at the same time destroy the remaining portals.  But first Caia and Thea explain they need to find volumes that might be dangerous if the demons find them. They are able to get help from the Dolphins to stop the predators, as well as finding the books.

Soon Emperor Lothrail, Gabriella and T-Harris enter the human world to review all the papers, with Gabriella setting up a plan to destroy a ship, and retrieve the papers/books. Lothrail is determined to bring all the protectors to safety, as well as eliminate any information that would bring demons to the Elven Empire.

What follows is a race against time to find the volumes and safely bring home those that spent their lives protecting the portals (many have since died), as well as closing them down.  I really enjoyed the 4 main characters (Caia, Thea, Hawk and Adriel), and their romance; it was nice to see both couples accept the bonding for each of them.  I also loved one of the Dolphin leaders, who was fun and helping them.    Water Bonded was another good story line in this series, and as always, I absolutely loved seeing Gabriella, who is a fantastic heroine.

Water Bonded was a short story, that was very well written by M.A. Abraham.  I look forward to more from this series.

The only trouble is, they are not in the Elven Empire, but living outside its boundary, the human world, a place forbidden by imperial command for them to go. However, Joran and Tarik can feel danger stalking their mates, something a male Elf is compelled to act upon.

Sage and Sahara own and operate a bookstore called The Book Aerie, where they serve the Elven Empire unknown to few. Up until when a stranger entered the building reeking of malice, it had been a peaceful existence. Now the sisters are being stalked by an ancient enemy intent on discovering their secrets.

As the danger intensifies, Joran and Tarik break the imperial command and cross to the other side, for laws or no laws, they will die before they let harm come to the women that are their other half. Little they realize the wheels of motion that they are about to set off.

Review:

Earth Bonded by M.A. Abraham is the 1st book in her new Elven Sentinel series. We meet our heroines, Sage and Sahara, who run a bookstore called The Book Aerie.  Both Sage and Sahara are elves who have lived in the human world all their lives, as their parents and other elves entered this world many years before. These elves (pretending to be human) scattered all over to watch over and protect the portals across the land to prevent anyone entering the Elven Empire.

With the passing of their parents, Sage and Sahara live a peaceful existence, until a stranger comes to the store looking for ancient books, and threatens them. They sense he is a demon, and their lives are in danger.

In the Elven Empire, we meet our heroes, Tarik and Joran, who both have the same visions, which show them both of their Life Mates.  Having finally discovered the women they have looked for many years, they are determined to enter the human world (though not allowed), as they can feel the danger against the ladies.

When they enter to book store, both Sage and Sahara recognize the two men are Elves, and their Life Mates.  Though they are happy for help, they are hesitant to allow themselves to become bonded.  Tarik and Joran, while in the book store , run into the dangerous man who has threatened them, and they put out spells to protect the store.

What they did not expect is the entrances of some powerful Elves (Emperor Lothrail, Gabriella, T-Harris & Geraint), who have come to find out why Tarik and Joran left the empire, and together they will learn more about what the demons want.  The story intensifies when they learn about what the ancients did all those many years ago to protect the Empire, and how because of the demons, many of the portals were no longer protected.   I thought this was a very nice story line, but I absolutely loved seeing Gabriella, and the others, who were all hundreds of years after the Guardians of the Empire (which has not ended yet).  It was nice to see both couples accept the bonding for each of them.

Earth Bonded was a short story, that was very well written by M.A. Abraham.  I look forward to more from this new series.
