REVIEW: Mariya Koslov is the Bravata Princess. Her father is head of the Bratva Mafia.

She lives a life of luxury and shopping. But she has been trained by her father and best friend / brother Viktor to hold her own. She can fight with the best of them. She has spent her life surrounded by Mafia doings, but the only thing she has been able to think about since her hormones kicked in is Luca Cotroni, head of the Italian Mafia. She believes Luca doesn’t want bothered with her and only acknowledges her out of respect to her father and brother.

What she doesn’t know is that Luca feels the same about her but he has been busy building an empire fitting for her, and now as Mariya approaches her 28th birthday he is finally ready. Mariya takes Luca’s lack of interest personal and gives him nothing but bitterness and backlash every time she sees him. That is until she heads to Vegas for a birthday weekend with her brother Viktor and his best friend Luca. When Viktor decides to return to his suite, Luca and Mariya stay and party Vegas style. When they wake up the next morning they are married.

They decide to return home and when their parents get wind of what has happened, they are ordered to give marriage 6 months. With both Luca and Mariya secretly in love with each other they both agree to give the marriage a try.

Luca loves Mariya but when she is taken by an opposing mafia gang, all things change. He decides he will no longer hide the fact that he is in love with Mariya. After everything that Mariya has gone through she has decided also that she will no longer hide how she truly feels for Luca.

With a long recovery ahead of her Mariya sets out to get herself back to full physical ability, while Luca is there every step of the way to help her through her recovery. Their love blossoms and the feelings they have always felt for each other surface.

A wonderful mafia romance, that can be read as a stand-alone book, but every book in this series has been amazing, I highly recommend reading the entire series. Trigger warning for some mild violence.

Kiara Murphy has the responsibility of taking care of her dad. When she lands an amazing job at Byrne Enterprises she doesn’t understand why both her parents aren’t ecstatic for her. In fact they both insist that she quit. But Kiara doesn’t listen to them and takes the job anyways. The company is owned by Liam Byrne. Liam isn’t exactly what he seems! Liam is CEO by day and Irish Mafia Boss the rest of the time! When she begins to be sexually harassed by company director and CEO step brother Finn Byrne. She is worried she has no one to turn to. And when Finn threatens the life of her mother she knows she has to do what he wants to protect her. But when things take a tragic turn, Liam comes to her rescue and saves her from tragedy. Makes it hard to form any kind of connection with anyone when you have all that going for you. So when he meets Kiara for the first time, his body reacts differently to her. He isn’t repulsed like he is with everyone else. And as Kiara begins to fall for him will she be able to handle the truth of what he is… a criminal?

This is a standalone but I recommend all of the books on this series. Trigger warning there is topics involving sexual assault and battery. The story is such a page turner you won’t be able to put it down!

REVIEW:Taken By A Sinner is book one in the stand alone The Sinners Series by Michelle Heard.

Theresa Drakatos better known as Tess, is a 21 year old film student at the Vancouver Film School. Her mother Helena is about to marry former mafia boss Peter Stathoulis. When she goes to dinner to meet Peter’s family she gets more than she bargained for. She comes face to face with Peter’s son and current mafia boss Nikolas. Nikolas is a force to be reckoned with and it seems that every turn Tess is in conflict with him. Nikolas is pure brute force, tough as nails and intimidating as all get out. But Tess tries to stand her ground as much as she possibly can. She soon comes to realize that her life is no longer her own. And she will now be under the care of Nikolas.

From the moment he meets Tess, Nikolas knows his life is not going to have any sense of normalcy (if there even is any with the mafia) until he gets her married off and out of his hair. But Tess fights him every step of the way and he has never had anyone simply not listen to him. The more she rebels the more he starts to have feelings for her. He knows they come from different worlds and that the best he can do for her is find her a good husband. But on Tess’ wedding day things do not go as she thought planned. Her life turns upside down. Nikolas vows to protect her with every ounce of his being. But can he do that.

There is a war upon them. Can he keep her safe? Can he make her change her mind about him and fall for him? This story was a complete and total roller coaster. Nikolas is the arrogant mafia boss you want to hate but just can’t! I love the way Tess goes from a seemingly innocent school student, to a strong confident soul. As their love grows for one another you want nothing more than for them to have their happy ever after. But in true Michelle Heard fashion – that does not come easily. Highly recommend this series but trigger warning – this book has some violence and abuse trauma.

Julie Jefferson aka JJ, is fresh out of Quantico and starting her first day with the Organized Crime Unit. Graduating too of her class and has a degree in psychology. Her expertise is getting into the mind of a criminal.

Agent Daniel O’Brien is an expert in organized crime. His first moment meeting JJ is him saving her life.

Thrown right into the thick of things her first day on the job, O’Brien saves her from being shot by tackling her. While she appreciates him saving her, this was not how she wanted her first day to go.

Not even close to how she imagined it!

Teamed up with Agent O’Brien is everything she has ever wanted. He is a legend in his field of work. She soon comes to realize that he may be more than what she bargained for. With an immediate attraction to him, she learns O’Brien is a private man. And while he slowly starts to open up to her – she can not get an accurate read on him.

She knows her attraction towards him is undeniable, as he takes on a “protector” role in her and her sister Lindsay’s life.
But she also knows he will never cross that line being as how his work is his life.

Agent O’Brien is a straight forward, no nonsense kind if guy. He also feels an immediate attraction to JJ. In fact he feels quite protective of her. Something he has never experienced before. Will he be able to keep his feelings to himself, he doesn’t want to lose the work partnership he has with her. But would he risk it all to have her how he truly wants her?

JJ is new to the Organized Crime unit but she isn’t green. She is such a strong willed, loyal, intelligent woman. A character that you only want the best for. And when O’Brien goes undercover and befriends some shady people, some things start to change. This book is full of dark twists and turns but is absolutely worth the ride. Having read all of Michelle Heard’s books – I find myself completely falling for her darker books. And this genre would never have been one I would have chosen on my own, but I am so glad I have found.

Highly recommend – but please take trigger warning seriously!

REVIEW:The Right Cowboy by Megan Ryder is book three in the Granite Junction series. Abby Gaines has just settled all of her mother’s affairs and is meandering her way West to California. Her and her best friend has plans on opening a coffee shop together. Taking her time and seeing all the roadside attractions that she wants, she realizes she isn’t far from Granite Junction where her estranged father Earl lives. She always thought Earl abandoned her, but going through her mother’s things she found letters from Earl to her. Ones her mom kept from her. Upset with her mother she debates with herself on stopping and meeting her father. Her car makes the decision for her when it breaks down at the overlook right outside of Granite Junction. That’s when she meets Granite Junctions Sheriff Nathan Holt.

Nathan was born and raised in the same town he now protects. His father was the Sheriff when he was growing up and he always knew he would follow in his fathers footsteps. Neither Abby nor Nathan were expecting the other to come into their lives. With Abby’s car out of commission for the foreseeable future she decides to make the best of her time in Granite Junction.

Abby starts working at her Dad’s diner to help out, and to feel the waters on a relationship with her dad. She also gets a part time job with a cleaning service, to get work off paying for her car repairs. But when someone starts stealing from all the places Abby works or cleans, she is quick to be the scapegoat since she is the new stranger in town. But what will this mean for her relationship with Nathan? The Sheriff has a job to do, will it ruin what he has found in Abby?

I love all the characters in Granite Junction. Small town vibes also leads to small town gossip! I loved how gossip spread so quickly through town, and how the friends were always there when needed! Highly recommend the Redemption Ranch and Granite Junctions series!

REVIEW:Tears of Salvation: A Russian Mafia Romance is book five in the Underworld Kings series by Michelle Heard. A stand alone novel that is best read along with the rest of the series!

Alexei Koslov, 32 years old – is head of the Bravata. There is no deadlier assassin than him. He is the sworn enemy of many, but his main nemesis is Sonia Terrero, head of the Terrero cartel.

One night at a club, Alexei meets the woman known as “the party crasher!” The have an amazing one night stand together, but leave without knowing each others names! And neither can forget the other long after the night has ended! But while out scouting for an attack on the Terrero family – Alexei soon realizes his “party crasher” is none other than Isabella Terrero, the princess of Terror. Heir to the Terrero cartel.

But he soon figures out that Isabella isn’t anything like her ruthless mother. There is an immediate and quick attraction between them. But when an accident causes Isabella to have amnesia, Alexei uses the moment to his advantage!

Will Isabella still care for him once she finds out the truth? Will she ever be able to forgive him for what he has done? This has been one of my favorite Underworld Kings story so far!

Fast paced, quick read and probably one of the most emotional ones. I loved the story so much! I am praying Ana gets her happy ending also!

REVIEW:Ruthless Saints is the third book in the St. Monarch’s Academy series by Michelle Heard. This book is a standalone novel in the Mafia, Organized Crime, Suspense Romance genre.

While this book is a standalone – I highly recommend every other book in this series.

Carson Koslov is a paid assassin, and he chooses to live his life In Saint Luc, Switzerland. That is where he meets Hailey Welsh. Hailey is backpacking through Switzerland and has made a

temporary stop in Saint Luc. Carson is trying to blend in with the locals and that takes him to a local bar once a week. To make it look like he belongs there.

That is when he meets Hailey. From the moment he meets her there is something different about her. She seems to be the light to his darkness.

Try as he might, and he knows he shouldn’t – he can’t keep away from her. Every moment he spends with her puts her life at risk..

Michelle Heard has a way of painting a world in which you become completely immersed.

In no universe can the moon and sun be together. They’re forever destined to be lightyears apart, with empty darkness filling the space between them.

Don’t read this as a standalone – ohhhhh every book in this series has been so deliciously good. Highly recommend.
