ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 7, 2023

Ex-bodyguard and moody Irishman, Colin Daly needs three things:

To figure out how to have a real job after his longtime client no longer needs him.

To find some really good Irish whiskey in the land of homemade moonshine.

To stop having dirty dreams every time he hears young, beautiful, recently-discovered-thanks-to-social-media music sensation, Hayden Ross, sing. Which seems to be every time he freaking turns around lately.

But now the new-to-the-spotlight sweetheart is being harassed and needs someone to have her back. And Colin will be damned if he’s going to let anyone else take this job. No matter how much being her temporary, very protective pretend boyfriend/roommate/whatever is going to rock his world.

REVIEW:ROCKED BAYOU is the third instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BADGES OF THE BAYOU erotic, romantic suspense series-a spin off from the numerous BOYS OF THE BAYOU interconnected series. This is thirty year old, ex-bodyguard Colin Daly, and twenty three year old, social media star Hayden Ross’ story line. ROCKED BAYOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any Important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Colin is first introduced in KISS MY GIRAFFE, Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild #7.

Told from third person perspective ROCKED BAYOU focuses on the protection of social media star Hayden Ross. Hayden Ross is a singer/songwriter who is climbing the proverbial charts on social media but Hayden has a stalker, and the messages are becoming personal and dangerous when Hayden discovers a gift outside of her front door. Desperate for help, Hayden calls her best friend Henry, the former personal bodyguard of Cian O’Grady, heir to the throne of Cara but Henry is on assignment overseas, and Colin Daly is the runner up in Hayden’s desperation for help. Knowing the stalking will only increase, Colin moves Hayden into his building, where she will have a large entourage of security and protection. Colin never expected to fall for Hayden Ross but when all is said and done, each will go their separate ways in the face of bigger and better things, or so they thought. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Hayden and Colin, and the potential fall-out as Hayden is offered the opportunity of a lifetime, and Colin and his security company are contracted to protect Bennett Baxter (Crazy Rich Cajuns/Boys of the Bayou 4) and his run for the Senate.

Hayden Ross loves to sing. Coming from a star studded family who have made their name in the sports field, Hayden has watched from the sidelines as her family’s fame exploded but Hayden struggles with her direction going forward in the face of a stalker who is threatening our story line heroine, a struggle that forces Hayden to make a decision in the wake of Colin’s contract to further his own career. Living with Colin Daly means up close and personal with the man with whom she will fall in love but Hayden knew it was only a matter of time before she is only an afterthought to our story line hero. Colin Daly has been looking for the next big contract that will expose his company to bigger and better things, and Colin thinks he has found it protecting our story line heroine but when something with bigger potential for exposure comes along, Colin is overwhelmed, and Hayden finds herself on the outside looking in.

The relationship between Colin and Hayden is one of forced proximity, age-gap, bodyguard romance. Colin Daly knows to get involved with a client may complicate matters going forward but the heart wants something more with our story line heroine but I have to question the number of times Hayden’s stalker is successful in contacting our story line heroine, success in the wake of a large security force that is obviously unprepared for the reality of the situation. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including many of whom we have met in most of Erin Nicholas’ interconnected Boys of the Bayou series.

ROCKED BAYOU is a story of obsession and madness; family and friendships, falling in love and moving forward. The premise is intriguing, entertaining and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic, determined but struggling.

“Okay, so what’s the plan?”Obviously, she was going to let him take the lead. Which was definitely how he preferred things. “First rule, we’re going to have to act very close. Like we’ve been close for a while.”

She nodded.

“Like we’ve been physically intimate,” he said to emphasize his point.

She nodded again, seemingly not fazed. “Obviously.”

“So we probably should go over some specifics.”

“Specifics like what?”

“Like that I need…your consent.” So that sounded awkward as fuck out loud.

But again, she barely hesitated. “You have it.”

“I haven’t even asked you for anything.”

She took a step closer. “Colin, I completely trust you. Whatever you need to do, I’m in. You have my consent to do anything.”

His body tightened in response to that. This was dangerous. Having this woman’s consent to do whatever he wanted to and with her was like a dream come true and a nightmare all rolled into one.

She. Was. A. Client.

He took a breath and attempted to pull his shit together. “Okay, that helps. You trusting me is really important. There might be moments where I can only give you instructions without explanation.”

“I get that,” she said. “I’ll cooperate.”

“And there might be times I have to just do something without any words at all. And…explain later.”

She nodded. “Got it.”

“So…is there anything you absolutely can’t tolerate? Any triggers? Phobias?”

She lifted her brows. “Give me an example.”

“Total darkness. Having your face covered. Certain smells. People touching your hair. Anything like that you can think of?”

Hayden was staring at him, but Colin could tell it was not in fear, but fascination. He was grateful that she seemed to be carefully considering what he’d asked. Finally, she shook her head. “I honestly can’t think of anything.”

“Are you allergic to anything?”

“No. Not that I’m aware of.”

“Is there anywhere you don’t want me to touch you?”

She didn’t even think about that one. “No.”

Again, his body reacted. He stubbornly focused on the conversation. “You’re sure? No spots that are off-limits? Anywhere you’re ticklish?”

“No. I mean, I’m a little ticklish. Like anyone. But there’s nowhere that I don’t want you to touch me.”

His pulse hammered in his veins. He moved in closer. She was going to have to get used to him being close to her. Very close. And this would help emphasize what he was asking about and help him gauge her reactions. He needed to be sure. She might be trying to spare his feelings, or she really might not be aware of things that might, in the moment, make her uncomfortable.

“I have to play your boyfriend tonight. Someone who knows you well and who’s been close to you. Naked with you. Who’s seen and touched and tasted you,” he said, letting his voice drop. It wasn’t intentional, but he didn’t fight it when his voice got husky. “If I touch you and you stiffen up, reflexively pull away, act skittish, and he’s watching, he’ll notice.”

She didn’t lean away. In fact, she stepped closer. “Colin, I honestly can’t think of a single place where you could touch me that I wouldn’t like it.”

How do you get over a woman you never should have been, ahem, under in the first place?

Just when FBI special agent Spencer Landry had decided to forget about investigative journalist Maxine–Max–Keller and their one hot night together, there’s a threat made against her and Spencer’s protective instincts get all riled up. Again.

So now they’re shacking up on the Louisiana bayou and pretending to be in love so he can keep Max safe until the guy is apprehended.

Considering their chemistry and that he can not stop thinking about the gorgeous-and-doesn’t-know-it, smart-mouthed, bold-and-yet-vulnerable redhead, this could be a fun few days, right?Nope. She’s all wrong for him.And she hasn’t forgotten he can be kind of a jerk.

Sure, the naked-times are great, but he told her exactly what he wants— a bubbly, sweet school teacher who bakes him brownies and loves to cuddle—and Max ain’t it.Max not only doesn’t bake, no one has ever called her sweet. And cuddling? Shudder.

Plus his bossiness is super annoying for someone who’s been taking care of herself all her life. But now they’re stuck together and dammit, besides being hot and very good with his mouth, Spencer is pretty irresistible with baby goats, little kids, and attempts at baking. And don’t forget alpha-protective. All of which makes her stomach feel very swoop-y. No wonder her clothes keep falling off.

But this is a temporary situation and they’re only faking it. So falling for the guy is a terrible idea. She really should have kept that in mind.

REVIEW:GOTTA BE BAYOU is the first instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BADGES OF THE BAYOU erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s BOYS OF THE BAYOU GONE WILD. This is FBI Agent Spencer Landry, and investigative journalist Maxine ‘Max’ Keller’s continuing story line. Max and Spencer’s story begins in the prequel novella BAYOU TONIGHT (see below). Bayou Tonight was originally released in the multi-authored TEN FIRST DATES (August 2022). I recommend reading BAYOU TONIGHT for the backstory between Max and Spencer, who first met in SAY IT LIKE YOU MANE IT (Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild).

Told from third person perspective GOTTA BE BAYOU follows the building romance and relationship between FBI Agent Spencer Landry, and investigative journalist Maxine ‘Max’ Keller. Approximately one year earlier Journalist Maxine Keller journeyed to the Bayou to investigate the illegal sale and transportation of exotic animals, alongside her best friend Caroline Holland (Say It Like You Mane It #5). Fast forward to present day wherein Max returns to the Bayou where she will connect at a friend’s wedding with FBI Agent Spencer Landry , a connection that is about to save her life. Someone is threatening our story line heroine, and Spencer has made himself guardian and protector of the woman with whom he will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Spencer and Max, and the potential fall-out as Max’s investigations take aim at some powerful people.

Spencer Landry and Maxine Keller have nothing in common including family, friendships, likes and dislikes but a night of drunken conversation finds Spencer trying to convince our heroine into something more, something that will change their lives forever. When the threats against Maxine become personal and deadly, Spencer takes Maxine to the Bayou where she will be surrounded by his family and friends.

The relationship between Max and Spencer is a frenemies to lovers. Max doesn’t want Spencer’s protection but our heroine is a little bit TSTL when it comes to her own safety and the threats against her life. As an investigative journalist our heroine claims to know all about the risks and rewards but the latest threats follow our heroine to Spencer’s home town. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including most of the couples and people we met in the previous series.

GOTTA BE BAYOU is a story of obsession and vengeance, obsession and power, family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is riveting and captivating but the conflict resolution was limited and mostly off page; the characters are charismatic and dynamic; the romance is spicy and seductive.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 17, 2022

Fiona knew Knox would be mad when she moved in next door.
And not because she brought a collection of wild animals with her.

And she was right.

So she intended to leave him alone. Mostly.

But he’s not ignoring her. He’s actively working to send her and her “ridiculous menagerie” (rude) right back out of town.

Still, as hard as she tries, it’s impossible to stop thinking about the small town grump’s long hair and tattoos and that mouth.

Not the one that’s almost always set in a grim line and says things like, “you got a permit for that?”

Nope, the one that kisses her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted and says very dirty things in her ear. And sweet, protective, supportive things. Sometimes. Accidentally. When she catches him off-guard.

The one that also says he only wants a long-distance fling with her. Nothing serious. And that he never dates women he sees every day. Like his neighbor.

Well, fine. If he doesn’t want her—and her unbelievable past and that-can’t-be-real future—then she doesn’t want him either. He can just kiss her…giraffe. (Yeah, she actually has a couple of those.)

Now she just needs to convince her heart to give him up.

NOTE: Excerpt intended for mature readers due to strong language and text.

“Remember that thing we talked about at Christmas?”
Knox felt his gut clench. They’d talked about sleeping together. And him becoming the temporary foster dad to three baby otters.
And they’d kissed for the first time. A kiss that had been causing annoying, unwelcome, frustrating dirty dreams for three fucking months.
“About having a salacious affair where we sneak around behind our friends’ backs and sleep together whenever I’m in town?” she pressed when he didn’t answer.
“Yes. I remember.”
Too well. He was incredibly pissed about how often he’d replayed that conversation and how restless he’d been waiting for her to call or come back to Autre.
He didn’t pine for women. Ever. He did the opposite of that.
But now she was here. And Knox wasn’t sure what he was feeling. Her showing up unannounced wasn’t unusual. Fiona Grady rolled into Autre without warning more often than not in her grape-soda-purple truck that sent his heart hammering and cock hardening.
But it had been three months since he’d seen her. Since they’d talked. Since he’d had any clue what she was doing, where she was, how she was.
Suddenly, she was on his doorstep asking about their plan to bang whenever she was in town for a couple of days?
“Okay, well, there’s something I need to tell you that will make you not want to do that anymore,” she said. “So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get naked together once before I told you and ruined everything?”
He opened his mouth to reply. Then shut it without a word. What the hell?
He glanced over his shoulder. Three minutes ago, he’d been sitting at his kitchen table doing paperwork with a cup of coffee and listening to a podcast about new creative urban development ideas.
Now the woman he was low-level obsessed with was on his porch asking if he wanted to have sex before she told him something that would make him not want to have sex with her anymore.
He ran a hand through his hair. This was why Fiona Grady was no good for him. She came into his carefully controlled and organized life and made things chaotic and messy.
“Are you sick?” he asked.
“Sick? No.”
“Dying?”
“No.”
“Is anyone dying?”
“No.”
“Are you married?” He braced himself. He knew very little about this woman, actually, and if she belonged to someone else, he’d… leave her alone. And hate that man. And never forgive her for stirring him up like this.
“Absolutely not.”
“Engaged?”
“No.”
Okay, that was all…way too much of a relief. He should not be this happy to hear that.
“Did you kill someone?” he asked.
She tipped her head, her mouth curling. “Is that a definite deal-breaker?”
No, probably not. Knox narrowed his eyes.
“No, I haven’t killed anyone.”
“Are the Feds looking for you? Or will I be implicated in some kind of crime if I let you in?”
“Not that I’m aware of.”
“That’s not a no.”
“I’m just being honest.”
Fair enough. Fiona was a wild animal advocate. The type of person to show up at roadside petting zoos and ‘circuses’ to monitor how the animals were treated and hand out literature to people attending the events, raising awareness about the poor conditions and treatment of those animals. She showed up to help rescue and care for animals, wild and domestic, after natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires. She regularly lobbied local, state, and even the national government for animal protections.
The chance that she could have done something in the “gray area” for one of her causes was pretty good.
The problem with that was he knew that wouldn’t keep him from wanting her.
She was precisely the kind of woman he should be avoiding.
He studied her face for another long moment, then gave in to the inevitable. He pushed his door open.
“Yeah?” she asked.
“Yeah.”
She wasn’t dying, wasn’t married, and hadn’t killed anyone. And he wanted her more than he’d ever wanted another woman in his life. So how was he possibly going to shut the door on her? After three months of missing her? He wasn’t that strong. Or stupid.

Zander turned to look at the woman with a brow up. “Anything else you’d like to tell me?”
She met his eyes directly. She studied him, seemingly thinking over his question. Finally, she nodded. “Yeah, I think so.”
“Okay. What’s going on?”
“It might take a bit. Want to buy me a drink?” She glanced back toward Ellie’s.
Did he want to take the gorgeous woman in a wedding dress with another man’s ring on her finger who had almost been kidnapped right in front of him back inside his grandmother’s bar where most of his family and a lot of the town was gathered?
He most certainly did not.
“No,” he said simply.
Caroline looked surprised. “Can we”—She looked around—“at least go somewhere else?”
That seemed like a good idea. She was very conspicuous here and his family could, at any moment, come out. And start asking questions. Not to mention that the would-be kidnapper now knew where she was.
“Is there a chance your fiancé is going to come back?” Of course there was. A man didn’t just let this woman go.
She bit her bottom lip and looked up the road. Then she nodded. “Yeah, there’s a chance. Or that he’ll tell someone else where I am.” She looked at Zander again. “But that was my brother. Not my fiancé.”
Oh, that was interesting.
No, it fucking isn’t. Knock it off.
“So, will your fiancé be coming after you?”
“Ex-fiancé.”
Right. She’d mentioned that.
“Okay. Will he come after you?”
She didn’t answer right away. Which Zander also found interesting. Though he shouldn’t. He did not want to be interested in this woman. At all. He didn’t want anyone getting kidnapped while they were in Autre, though, either. Okay, he didn’t really want anyone getting kidnapped, period. But especially while they were in Autre.
“There’s a chance,” Caroline finally admitted. “Or my dad might come. Or my ex-fiancé’s dad might come.”
“And you don’t want to go back with any of them? Is that right?”
“Yes.”
Well, fuck. He had to at least be sure she didn’t get taken anywhere by anyone against her will.
She studied him for a long moment. “So, you’re willing to help me, Officer Landry?”
Her question—and her voice and her eyes and her everything, if he was being honest with himself which he decided to not be—sent a shot of something through Zander’s chest.
It was the familiar streak of adrenaline he often felt with his work. It primed his gut to act on instinct when necessary, it made him ready to take on people intent on doing bad things and face potential danger, and it focused his mind. But he also recognized the sliver of trepidation. It wasn’t fear or reluctance. It was…awareness. Like knowing he was about to open a big old can of worms.
But he nodded. “Helping people with problems is kind of my job.”
“Then I would love to tell you what’s going on.”
He wanted that. And it wasn’t the cop in him thinking that.
Fuck. Dammit. Hell. Sonofabitch.
“Okay. Let’s go…someplace your brother doesn’t know about.”
“Like your place?”
Yes. He wanted her at his place. That was the safest. He could definitely keep her safe there. His property was at the end of a dead-end road so the only traffic was trucks he knew. His neighbors were his brothers and cousins. His backyard butted up to the bayou.
But fuck no. He wasn’t taking this woman anywhere near his house. Where his bedroom was.
She was dangerous. He couldn’t sort through all the reasons why at the moment, not while looking into her eyes and wondering how soft her skin was and how silky her hair was, but he had enough self-preservation instinct to keep her away from his house.
“I’m thinking the B & B.”
He grabbed her suitcase and started for his truck.
“But he might think to look there,” she protested. She gathered up her enormous skirts and followed him though.
“I’ll tell Heather not to tell anyone anything about you,” Zander told her, storing her bag behind the front seat and then turning to face her.
Dammit.
Again with the eyes. And hair. And lips. Okay, he hadn’t included the lips in the earlier inventory, but they were great too.
So he liked female lips. Big deal. These were not that exceptional. What the hell was wrong with him?
She’s probably your damned soulmate or some shit and the second you touch her hand you’re going to feel sparks.
I’m not going to feel sparks. That’s a stupid cliché. But I have to get some war biographies. Or maybe something about Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Something about women who are amazing but not sexy. It doesn’t have to be about sexy all the time. Get away from those romance novels.
The thing was, smart, bold women like RBG were sexy in their own way and if Zander had been Ruth’s age and run into her at a bar when she was single, he absolutely would have hit on her.
“Are you okay?” Caroline asked, stepping forward with a slight frown.
He jerked out of his stupid thoughts. “Yeah. I’m fine. You’re the one with the problem.”
Well, that had sounded rude as fuck.
Her eyes widened, but then she nodded. “Yeah. I am. We should definitely work on my problem. It’s going to keep getting bigger if we don’t.”
Zander sighed. He didn’t even know what that meant but…of course it was.

REVIEW:SEALED WITH A KISS is the fourth instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU GONE WILD erotic, romance series, a spin off from the author’s BOYS OF THE BAYOU, and HOT CAKES series. This is former child star Naomi LeClaire, and wildlife rescue internet star Donovan Foster’s story line. SEALED WITH A KISS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives including Naomi and Donovan, SEALED WITH A KISS follows the friends to lovers relationship between twenty-five year olds former child star Naomi LeClaire, and wildlife rescuer/reality TV/ internet star Donovan Foster. The aftermath of a hurricane finds our couple volunteering to help rescue both wild and domesticated animals along the Gulf coast but a steamy kiss caught on camera by the local paparazzi pulls Naomi and Donovan into the proverbial eye of the storm when a reality producer offers a chance at their own television show, focusing on not only the rescue of the animals but on their relationship the couple were hoping to keep close to their hearts. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Naomi and Donovan, and the potential fall-out as the unreality of a reality show is not what Donovan expected, and Donovan’s time in Autre, Louisiana comes to a close.

Naomi LeClaire has been in love with Donovan Foster since the first time they met but Donovan’s time in Autre is limited as our hero is constantly on the go, rescuing animals, and filming his next internet sensation. Donovan Foster never expected to find friendships, family and love in Autre, Louisiana, and battles between head and heart about the next step in his future as a wildlife rescuer. A reality show that becomes more scripted than real finds Donovan reconsidering everything about his future as an internet star.

The relationship between Naomi and Donovan is one of immediate attraction but Donovan struggles with demons from his past, and in this, he believes he is unworthy of his own happily ever after. Having watched his big brother Griffin (Otterly Irresistible) become a successful wildlife veterinarian and fall in love with local Charlie Landry, Donovan could only hope for his own success in life but having after he and Naomi rescued a trio of bear cubs, out couple hunkered down at the local wildlife preserver, taking their attraction to the next level. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of familiar and colorful secondary and supporting characters from three of the author’s interconnected series. The author has, thankfully, added a table of main and recurring characters at the beginning of the book, revealing and reminding of each connection, relationship, book and series.

He’s the tattooed bad boy her mama warned her about.
She’s his hot mess — but mostly hot — next door neighbor.
Until a two-night-stand gives them the surprise of a lifetime…

Jillian Morris is a workaholic who forgets to watch the time. And to eat. And to change her shoes. And to keep even a house-plant alive. And to have any kind of a personal life.

Now an eccentric millionaire has left her eight million dollars. And eight penguins. Yes, real live penguins. She’s a wildlife vet who specializes in penguins, so that makes sense. Kind of. She can, and does, keep penguins alive and well. She now just has to move them cross-country to her friend’s new animal park.

So if anyone deserves a one-night (or two) stand with a hot, younger, tattooed bad boy on a motorcycle, it’s her. Or so Jill tells herself when Zeke Landry flips his bike in front of her motel and she stitches him up.

If only she’d known who he really was.
And that he was the fall-hard-and-fast type.
And the protective type.
And that one night would turn into more like nine-months of being… sigh… very personal.

He lifted a hand to run it through his wet hair.
Her eyes followed the motion, seemingly riveted on his arm. He wasn’t sure if it was the tattoo or what exactly. But he did know that Jillian was fascinated with his ink. She had traced all of it with her fingers and tongue last night more than once. And he had a lot of ink.
“I’m the guy who’s remodeling your house.”
Her eyes widened. “We’re going to be neighbors.”
He let his grin grow slowly. “Yup.”
She tipped her head back and groaned.
But it wasn’t one of the hot oh-my-God-yes groans she’d been giving him last night. This was more of oh-crap groan.
“You’re clearly not as excited about that as I am,” he said dryly.

Her head came up and she met his eyes. Now there was no roaming over his half naked body. She shook her head. “It just feels complicated to live next door to the guy I’m hooking up with once a month.”
He was confused. “We’re hooking up once a month?”
“Well, that was what I was going to propose anyway. Friends with benefits, you know? After last night I thought that could be kind of fun.”
“That would be fun. Very, very fun,” he said. “But why only once a month? I’m up for that kind of fun way more often.”
“Sure. But then it turns into more like dating or a relationship or something rather than just getting together for hot sex.”
“And I take it the relationship and dating thing is something you’re trying to avoid?”
“Very much so. And living next door to you means that we’ll see each other occasionally and since you’ll be saving me from alligators on a regular basis, we could potentially turn into actual friends. And that makes the hooking up even more complicated.”
Having the sun up hadn’t made him feel any less attracted to, slightly confused by, surprised by, and definitely amused by this woman. “But friends with benefits has friends right in the title.”
This all sounded good to him. Having a neighbor he could get naked with whenever the urge struck, who didn’t want anything else from him, sounded pretty great.
“I’m just really not interested in a relationship,” Jill went on. “I’m not good at them. And I don’t really have time for them. And I don’t put the effort into them, which ends up bothering the other person after a while. Which is understandable. I’m not blaming anyone. I just really like to have everything laid out and everyone on the same page. And I like sex. It would be really perfect to be able to have amazing sex, but only when it’s convenient.”
Zeke gave a soft snort. Convenient hot sex. It really did sound pretty amazing.
“If you just want to walk through my door, only wearing a robe and nothing underneath to save time, I’m not gonna kick you out, cher,” he told her. He was half-teasing. But only half.
She finally gave him a hint of a smile. “I can just show up on your front porch anytime I want?”
He reached up and cupped the side of her head. He brought her in close and put his mouth against hers. “Any freaking time.”

He’s her best friend.
A reformed bad boy turned hot teacher.
And after one spur-of-the-moment Vegas wedding… her husband.

Jordan Benoit and Fletcher Landry have been best friends since they were six. He’s always been The Guy. When she needed picked up, cheered up, or lifted up — like literally, to see the stage at a concert — Fletcher was the guy.

So when her boyfriend dumps her — on national TV — Fletcher immediately gets on a plane and comes to her rescue.

And when she ends up in a Vegas wedding chapel and needs someone to say, “I do” …yep, Fletcher’s the guy. Of course.

But being The Guy 24/7 is a lot. He just wants everyone to give him a freaking minute to get this marriage thing right. Including his sexy, sweet new wife who he’s wanted for three years. Who is exasperatingly, temptingly all-in from minute one.

Jordan knows what she wants. A life in her hometown. A job with alpacas. And Fletcher. Not necessarily in that order.

They’ve said the vows. They’d told the world. They’ve told their grandmas. Forget taking things slow. Forget just heavy petting. Forget any chance of backing out when things get tough. They’re going to have to go all the way, in every way.

After all, friends becoming lovers should be the easiest thing in the world. Right?

REVIEW:HEAVY PETTING is the second instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU GONE WILD erotic, romance series, a spin off from the author’s BOYS OF THE BAYOU series. This is elementary school teacher Fletcher Landry, and science teacher/educator Jordan Benoit’s story line. HEAVY PETTING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line or series is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Jordan and Fletcher) HEAVY PETTING follows in the aftermath of the televised breakup of Jordan Benoit, and her long time boyfriend, up and coming music star Jason Young. Since the age of fifteen Jordan and Jason have been an item but Jason’s star is on the rise, and when the opportunity to go to Nashville presented itself, Jordan didn’t hesitate to to support the man with whom she was in love but not everyone was happy with Jordan’s decision leave the Louisiana Bayou, and Fletcher Landry made his opposition known that he didn’t want to lose his best friend to a touring star. An ill-time, on air, televised Las Vegas proposal spiralled out of control, leaving a humiliated Jordan in its’ wake. Refusing to stand by and watch the woman he has always loved fall from grace, Fletcher heads to Vegas, and returns home a married man, with Jordan on his arm. What ensues is the best friends to spouses relationship between Jordan and Fletcher, and the potential fall-out as Fletcher begins to reconsider his need to always rescue our story line heroine, believing he has missed out on everything in between.

Fletcher Landry has loved, and been in love with his best friend Jordan most of his life but watched from the sidelines as our heroine fell in love with someone else. No amount of pleading could persuade Jordan to stay behind when Jason headed towards fortune and fame, but life on the road proved to be more than Jordan could have ever imagined. Jordan Benoit thought she found the one in Jason Young but never expected to become the target of both sympathy and vitriol in the wake of Jason’s televised proposal that went all to h*ll. Fletcher’s arrival in Vegas proved that Fletcher was the man who understood our heroine, the most, but always arriving at the ‘end’ meant Fletcher missed everything leading up to the big reveal.

The relationship between Jordan and Fletcher is a best friends to spouses. Fletcher knew that Jordan was the only woman he would ever love but a spontaneous Vegas wedding was a little bit more than he had bargained. Struggling with what was, and what had never been, Fletcher battled between head and heart wondering if he ever really knew the woman he loved. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Several of the previous story line and series characters cross over for cohesion and familiarity. Fletcher’s brothers Zeke and Zander figure prominently in Jordan’s return to the Bayou, as does the petting zoo where our heroine initiates an education centre for children in need.

HEAVY PETTING is a story of friendships and relationships, second chances (of a sort) and love. The character driven premise is entertaining and captivating ; the characters are fun and flirty; the romance is passionate and steamy.

“I also think that I need to—”
“Marry me.”
“Date you.”
They spoke at the same time.
Then stared at each other.
“What?”
“What?”
They spoke simultaneously again.
“I was trying to give you some freaking space before I said anything.” He seemed very annoyed suddenly.
She leaned in, bracing her hand on the seat between them. “The last person I need space from is you, Fletcher. I mean, we’ve basically been dating for twenty years. If dating is about getting to know someone and figuring out how well you fit with them and figuring out if you want to spend the rest of your life with them…we’ve done that.”
He shook his head. “You have got to be one of the most exasperating people in my life.”
Her eyebrows rose. “Considering your twin brothers are Zeke and Zander, being one of the most exasperating people in your life is pretty huge.”
He shook his head. “Absolutely exasperating. To think I could’ve kissed you when we were standing next to a king-sized bed and you were only in your bra and panties and you would have been all in.”
Jordan felt her cheeks flush, but she grinned widely. “I really am a pain.”
“You really are.” His gaze dropped to her mouth.
Jordan felt a zing of excitement go through her. She really wanted him to kiss her.
“I think you dating me is a great idea,” he said after a moment.
Thank God.
“You’re sure you’re done dating other people? Having fun with all those girls? All the casual relationships?” she asked.
“If it means I get to be with you? Absolutely.”
Her stomach swooped, harder and faster than before. “This isn’t crazy?”
“It makes a hell of a lot more sense than anything else. Like you dating other men. Or either of us being with anyone else.”
“We’ve never talked about this before.”
“You’ve been taken,” he said simply.
Right. That was true. And Fletcher was too good of a guy to go after another man’s girl.
She still felt compelled to say, “It’s been three years since anything happened.”
“Again, because you’ve been taken.” His voice dropped. “Only because you’ve been taken, Jordan.”
Her heart skittered at that and she wet her lips. She thought about her next words carefully. Several seconds ticked by. Then she said simply, “Prove it.”
Fletcher reached out, wrapped his big hand around her wrist, and tugged her close. He cupped the back of her head and brought her in until they were nose to nose. “This changes everything,” he said. Almost as if it was a warning.
“I know.”
“I’m the last frog you’re ever going to kiss. So be sure you want it now.”
That was exactly what she’d wanted to hear without even realizing it.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 20, 2021

What happens when a smoking hot, but grouchy vet meets a sunny and sassy optimist? An opposites attract, grumpy boss, small town romance that’s otterly irresistible.

Broody wildlife veterinarian Griffin Foster is done. Done trying to save the world. Done getting attached. He’s been fired twice for standing his ground and now he’s going to be content — by God — in small-town Louisiana, in a small veterinary practice, where there will only be small problems.

Quiet and boring, though? Um, no. He’s been adopted by a loud, crazy Cajun family with a tiny petting zoo for him to care for. Hey, it’s not endangered tigers at a nationally renowned zoo, but a family of otters — and all the gumbo he can eat — isn’t a bad deal.

Until she shows up. Again.

The sunny, gorgeous optimist who stole his heart — and his favorite shirt — two months ago. Who clearly hasn’t heard the word “no” enough in her life. And who is the first woman to put even a tiny crack in his don’t-get-attached wall.

Charlotte “Charlie” Landry is the new marketing consultant for the family swamp-boat tour company and petting zoo. It might not have been her plan, but she is all in, ready to grow the business. Whether the hot, grumpy vet likes it or not.

He doesn’t.

Worse, sparring with his unforgettable one-night stand is more fun than he’s had in a long time.

But watching wears-designer-dresses Charlie find her dream job amongst a bunch of goats, alpacas, and otters is a surprise.

And her helping him find his passion again is… well, irresistible.

Dammit.

REVIEW: OTTERLY IRRESISTIBLE is the first instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU GONE WILD, erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s BOYS OF THE BAYOU. This is thirty year old, veterinarian Dr. Griffin Foster, and marketing consultant Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Landry’s story line. You do not have to have read the previous series to understand or follow but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading for your enjoyment. Several characters cross over for familiarity. Griffin was first introduced in the Boys of the Bayou series.

Told from dual third perspectives (Charlie and Griffin) OTTERLY IRRESISTIBLE follows the building romance and relationship between thirty year old, veterinarian Dr. Griffin Foster, and marketing consultant Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Landry. Two months earlier Griffin and Charlie spent an almost one-night stand together but Charlie was heading to Paris, and Griffin never stopped thinking about what might have been. Fast forward to present day wherein Charlie, having been fired from her job in Paris, has returned to Autre, Louisiana as the new receptionist and marketing agent for Griffin’s clinic, a return Griffin knew nothing about. With Charlie’s ability to market just about anything and everything, our heroine goes into overdrive in an effort to raise money for the otter enclosures coming up with a series of ideas and plans to open a ‘zoo’ to bring in more tourists and fun but Griffin struggles with Charlie’s over the top zealous attitude, preferring to remain behind the scenes, fearing the woman with whom he is falling in love with leave in a few months time. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Charlie and Griffin, and the potential fall-out as a mutual loss finds Charlie out of her element, wondering if she will ever fit in.

Griffin Foster prefers animals to humans, and meeting Charlie Landry doesn’t change his mind about his relationship preferences. A one-night stand kind of guy, Griffin struggles with his feelings for our story line heroine, a woman who is determined to prove he is worthy of his own happily ever after-with her. Charlie Landry is a bubbly, over-zealous, friend to everyone, and in this Griffin battles between head and heart knowing Charlie may only be in town for a very short time. As Charlie begins to plan the expansion of the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild animal park, Griffin has some ideas of his own. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters many of whom we have met in the previous series. The back and forth camaraderie between the Landry sibling and cousins is furious and fun.

OTTERLY IRRESISTIBLE is a heart warming and animated story line. The characters are flirty and spirited; the romance is intoxicating and intimate. A wonderful start to a new series.

He lifted a brow. “Are you going to actually be helpful now or not?”She loved every single thing about this petting zoo.

“Oh, I’m not going anywhere,” she told him. “I’m definitely going to help.”

He sighed.

Feeling suddenly lighter and happier than she had in a long time—and that was saying something as she was generally light and happy, not to mention on her way to Paris soon—Charlie turned back to the animals.

“Okay, now that we know each other better, how about you all be sweet and head back to the barn?”

Not one animal even looked at her.

“Hey, Stan?” she called to the big goat. “You’re clearly a leader. How about you show me that you can do some good with all that staunch determination and lead everyone back to the barn?”

“You can’t be serious,” the guy said. “Talking to them isn’t going to work.”

“Talking is what I do.”

“No kidding.”

She just lifted a brow. “So what should I do instead?”

Maybe he could give her an opening for charming him into putting that very nice, smirky, sarcastic mouth against hers and…

“Nudge ’em,” he said simply.

Now she blinked at him. “What?”

“Nudge them,” he said again.

“Just… nudge them? As in, push them?” She narrowed her eyes. Were they talking about goats? Or were they maybe talking about grumpy farmers who needed more than a subtle flirtation to make a move?

“Sometimes that’s all they need.”

Okay then. She was going to keep that in mind.

“So…” He nodded toward the goats.

She blew out a breath. Okay, so for right now, they were talking about goats.

Charlie approached the smallest of the animals. He—or she—looked up at her. “Hello, I’m Charlotte. Would you please accompany me across the street back to your barn?” She heard the man’s snort even from a distance. That made her smile even though she was still stuck with the problem of herding goats.

The goat, of course, didn’t move a step.

“I would very much enjoy it if you would grant me the pleasure of your company across the street at your barn,” she told the goat.

This time the goat didn’t even lift his head.

Charlie propped a hand on her hip. “I don’t feel that we know each other well enough for me to actually put my hands on your body, so it really would be easier if you would just head in the general direction of your barn.”

“For fuck’s sake.” Suddenly the man was back beside her.

He bent and lifted the goat, and Charlie couldn’t help but think this had worked out very well.
She hadn’t had to touch the goats, but she hadn’t been entirely unhelpful to him.

Okay, that wasn’t true. She had been completely unhelpful to him. But she hadn’t left him out
here with the goats alone.

The man pivoted and pressed the goat to her chest. Instinctively her arms went up and around it. He let go.

And just like that, she had her arms full of goat.

Charlie gasped, partially in surprise and partially because it only took her a millisecond to think about the fact that she now had a barnyard animal up against her Alex Perry cocktail dress.

“You have to be kidding,” she said to the man.

“When nudging doesn’t work, sometimes you have to get hands-on.”

Charlie blew out a breath. She was tucking that away in her idea of how to handle him too. But she was preoccupied at the moment.

And not so sure she wanted to kiss him after all.

No, that wasn’t true. She still wanted to kiss him. Especially now that he was standing closer.

Even if she had to kiss him over the back of a goat.

Which probably meant she really wanted to kiss him.
