ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 6, 2015

After a devastating war decimated most of the world, Hudson Lane has only known the oppressive life under her own father’s tyranny. She finally escapes, branding herself an outlaw and hunted by the Enforcers. Her best chance at survival is Connor Mackenzie, an aggressively sensual fugitive who opens her eyes to the wicked possibilities of a world without rules.

As the leader of a band of outlaw fighters, Connor can’t resist the beautiful stranger who asks for his protection. Despite his reservations, he agrees to introduce her to a whole new way of life. But when Connor discovers Hudson’s connection to the enemies of liberty, he wonders how far he can trust the woman who has abandoned all inhibitions to challenge every forbidden desire.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: CLAIMED is the first installment in Elle Kennedy’s adult, post-apocalyptic/dystopian Outlaws erotica, romance series. This is Outlaw leader Connor Mackenzie, and nurse Hudson Lane’s storyline.

NOTE: CLAIMED contains scenes of M/F and M/F/M sexual situations and may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives CLAIMED focuses on the post-apocalyptic USA where the country is now divided into a number of respective territories without government control. There are various factions of bandits, enforcers, outlaws, and the people from the city. Life on the outside is hard; there are no laws, no law enforcement, and death is often the better option.

Hudson Lane is on the run and needs protection-enter Connor Mackenzie-leader of the local Outlaws-and the man who would break Hudson’s heart. Connor is a reluctant leader but a man who commands and demands the respect of the small band of Outlaws he oversees and controls, and with it comes the decision making that could make or break the cohesiveness of their small family unit. When Hudson asks for help, Connor demands something in return and Hudson is willing to give Connor what he wants to ensure her future protection. Connor is a man whose past is dark; he has lost everything to the enforcers, and with it comes betrayal, distrust and a heavy heart. Our hero is on a mission, and he isn’t afraid to use whatever means necessary to get what he wants.

CLAIMED has a large cast of secondary and supporting colorful, charismatic, animated and energetic characters-an ensemble storyline with graphic and aggressive sexual situations, dystopian style lawlessness, and a barter system where nothing is for free and payment can be whatever the seller demands. We are introduced to Connor’s band of Outlaws: Rylan, Pike, Xander and Kade; as well as several different factions of Outlaws, bandits and people who go it alone. Connor’s Outlaws are the epitome of sexually aggressive alpha males who make no excuses for their wants and needs.

The world building focuses on the lawlessness of the Global Council’s control where the self appointed people in charge are evil, dangerous and not afraid to destroy everyone who questions their controlling ways. OUTLAWS primary focus in on the area once known as Utah, and with it comes a disturbing scenario about the power and control of people, places and things. Survival is never a guarantee. My only concern is the lack of history and information as to what happened to incur the wrath of a destructive force that all but destroyed what was once the US of A.

As an erotica storyline CLAIMED is heavily weighted in graphically detailed $ex scenes such that the actual story gets lost in the numerous sexual situations; where nothing is off limits; and $ex is often a commodity used to barter for one’s life, a favor or for food. If you have issues with questionable or coerced consent and detailed aggressive $ex scenes, CLAIMED may not be your first choice in reading material. Connor is a man whose initial sexual aggression towards the storyline heroine makes for some dubious acceptance and compliance but in the end Hudson knows what she wants, and she wants Connor all to herself.

CLAIMED is a provocative storyline with a passionate heroine, an intense hero, and a powerful need for revenge and retribution in a world of desolation and pain. The characters are challenging and hopeful; the romance is uncertain and sometimes angry but in the end Connor and Hudson will get their happily ever after but the path is lined with desperation, rejection and pain.

_____

FIRST TIME by Jennifer Lynne
When I suggested a weekend away to rekindle the flame of our fifteen year old marriage, I had no idea Henry would take it as an opportunity to bust out the credit card at our local sex shop. But now I’m sitting in this country cottage on Saturday night, surrounded by nothing but forest for miles in every direction, and staring at my husband holding the spanking paddle as I wonder if I really have the nerve to bend over and let him use it. ~ Grace

REVIEW: FIRST TIME follows Grace and Henry as they celebrate fifteen years of marriage. Their sex life has become predictable and with the arrival of children a loss of intimacy and fun. When Grace books an anniversary weekend cottage getaway Henry hopes to put some spark back into the marriage with a little bit of spanking and a few sexual toys.

The novelette is a quick read that reveals a little bit of Grace’s previous history, and Henry’s need to dominate the woman he loves. Told from alternating first person points of view we are pulled into the thoughts and desires of two people who feel that life has become complacent, along with the $ex in their marriage. Jennifer Lynne’s FIRST TIME looks at spanking as a form of discipline that will lead to a profession of love. The discipline is limited to spanking with a little bit of nipple and anal play as an added bonus; there is no bondage or darkness seeping into the need or desires.

_________

DOMESTIC DISCIPLINE by Roz Lee
I can’t imagine not marrying Brendan, but I can’t bring this discontent into our marriage either. My friend, Beth, is right. I have to talk to my fiancé, but how do you tell a man who does everything right in the bedroom that you need more–that you need him to spank you? ~ April

REVIEW: DOMESTIC DISCIPLINE follows April as she secretly wishes for something more from her relationship with her fiancé Brendan but embarrassment overrides her ability to communicate what it is she wants and needs from her man.

Told from first person point of view (April) Roz Lee blends several of her previous storyline couples into each novelette installment giving a familiarity to each successive story. DOMESTIC DISCIPLINE is a short story that focuses on spanking and discipline, and what it takes to get the kink back into April and Brendan’s life. The $ex scenes are graphic and erotic, with a little bit of anal play.

NOT VANILLA: SPANKING looks at two couples whose #$ex lives have become predictable, boring and a little too vanilla. Each of our couples looks to spanking as a form of foreplay both in and out of the bedroom. The language is sexually graphic; consent is never in question; love is the underlying premise.

excerpt

FIRST TIME by Jennifer Lynne

“Now, Grace. I’m waiting.” Impatience flares briefly in Henry’s features, and then disappears behind the stranger’s mask. This is my husband, and yet somehow it’s not.
My instinct is to immediately bend down and grab my ankles; let him do whatever he wants. The wet slickness that coats the seam between my legs is testament to how much I want to comply. My mind has yet to catch up with my body, though, and for some reason it won’t release the fear that is still holding me captive.
So I play for time and challenge him instead. “Why are you talking like that?” I know why. Of course I do, and yet these stupid questions spill out of my mouth. “Since when is that your thing?” I nod toward the paddle he’s cradling. It’s a style I would have bought myself, if I’d had the nerve. It’s quite large—a good beginner tool, because the larger head diffuses the impact. It’s made of wood, and I can see one side is cushioned with a padded leather cover. Henry is stroking that side on his palm. Clearly he loves the feel of it against his skin, and I have to confess, the thought of that leather caressing my body sends a signal straight to my sex. A breath catches in my throat as my long-dormant clit awakes with a throb.
This weekend might be just what we need, after all.
A slap echoes through the room in a loud staccato and I jump, but he’s struck his own palm, not me. I catch a sudden glitter in his eyes before it’s gone, equally fast. That glimpse shows me just how much Henry really wants this, and I shiver at the realization that I’m going to get a proper spanking tonight.
He smacks the paddle against his palm a second time, and then starts to circle around me, pacing slowly as if studying my form. He pauses when he reaches my back, and a caress meanders down my spine. It’s too rigid to be his fingers. It feels firm and yet somehow slightly squishy. Perhaps he has the paddle on its edge, angled more toward the padded leather side? Goose bumps form along the wandering trail he creates, and when he reaches my butt cheeks he keeps going, sliding the implement into my crevice and continuing the forward swipe.
I look down and see the edge poking out from my mound, and then it swivels slightly until the flat side rests against my pussy.
“Time to do what you’re told, Gracie.” His voice sounds much closer than I expect. A puff of breath warms my skin in that sensitive crick between shoulder and neck, and I arch my head almost involuntarily to one side, willing him to kiss me there. He doesn’t, but his mouth is so close my nerve endings react as if he has. Somehow, he has branded me without a single touch of his lips.

DOMESTIC DISCIPLINE by Roz Lee

“Babe.” Brendan’s arms enfold me against the starched white cotton covering his chest. “I knew I’d find you here.”
His heartbeat against my cheek is a reminder of how steady this man is. “I didn’t want to be alone,” I say, squeezing my arms tight around his waist. It’s like hugging a slab of marble that’s been sitting in the sun all day—solid and warm. He’s wearing my favorite aftershave, the one with base notes of nutmeg and vanilla. My body reacts instantly, softening and preparing to take him inside. For a brief second I’m ashamed the thought of breaking our engagement ever crossed my mind. I could never be happy without Brendan. The hard part will be finding a way to be happy with him.
“I showed up at your place, tired, but needing to hold you before I went to sleep, and where do I find you? At The Lone Star, dancing the night away with my best friend. I should spank your pretty little ass for that.” There’s a teasing quality to his voice I recognize even as his hand lands on my right ass cheek hard enough to make me jump.
Warmth spreads from the point of contact all the way to my pussy and out to the tips of my fingers and toes. My nipples tingle and perk up. God, that feels good. Too good. I clamp my thighs tight, and bury my face in the placket of his shirt, hoping he won’t hear the moan I can’t hold back. Blood rushes past my ears so fast the music playing is nothing more than a faint suggestion.
Wondering what is happening to my body, I clench fists full of Brendan’s shirt. He’s gone still except for the erection growing and pressing into my belly. One broad, callused hand finds flesh above the waistband of my jeans—slips lower to cup my ass skin to skin. “Christ, babe. I never thought you’d like that.”
Leave it to my man to read my reaction for what it is—flaming desire. I don’t have a clue how to play this, whatever it is. All I know is, the playful spanking lit me up. I haven’t been this horny in recent memory. Desperate to hold onto this feeling, I chance looking up and get lost in the depth of his gaze.
“You want to play this out, babe?”
God, yes. I bite my lower lip and dip my chin in a barely there nod. One hand on the small of my back, the other still cupping my ass beneath my jeans, he snuggles me closer. His chin rests on the top of my head. His unmistakable erection presses between us. My breathing matches his, shallow and rapid. I don’t really know what’s going to happen, how he intends to play this out, but knowing he’s as turned on as I am gives me courage. I can see this through if he’s with me.
“Stay with me, babe.” He slips his hand out of my pants, pushes me away. The sparkle in his eyes and the way his lips fall short of flatlining clue me in a second before he grabs my hand. “I told you not to leave the house tonight.” He grabs my purse off the table and shoves it at me. Instinctively, I clutch it to my breasts.
“You know what happens when you disobey me.”
Before I can signal my girlfriends with a wink or even an eye roll, he’s dragging me toward the front of the bar. I have no idea what happens when I disobey Brendan, but God, it promises to be good.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 31, 2015

Firefighter Gage Simpson has it all: the job of his dreams, the family of his heart, and no shortage of hot guys lining up to share his bed. “Fun and easy” is his motto—and it’s kept him sunny through a painful upbringing and steered him away from trouble. But when trouble comes knocking in the form of a sexy, scarred, tattooed chef with a harrowing past and zero communication skills, Gage can’t help but be drawn to the flame.

Brady Smith isn’t fun. And easy isn’t in his vocabulary. When cocky Gage swaggers into his restaurant kitchen, the former Marine-turned-five-star-chef is blindsided by the firefighter’s beauty. Then confused that this golden guy with the sparkling blue eyes and the body of a god might be interested in him. As desire flares and temperatures rise, Gage and Brady will have to figure out if the heat between them is just a temporary flash—or the beginning of something real.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: MELTING POINT is the second installment (and novella) in Kate Meader’s contemporary, adult Hot in Chicago erotic romance series focusing on the men and women in uniform of the Chicago Police and Fire Departments. This is executive chef and Marine veteran Brady Smith, and twenty four year old firefighter and model Gage Simpson’s storyline.

NOTE: MELTING POINT contains graphic scenes of M/M sexual imagery, and is recommended for readers 18+.

Told from dual third person perspectives MELTING POINT focuses on the building relationship between Gage and Brady. Brady is a former Marine whose physical and emotional scars are the stuff of nightmares, survivor’s guilt and PTSD. His attraction to sexy firefighter Gage Simpson places Brady in a tenuous position as he is unable to bear the pity and touch of another human being. But Gage is a man who isn’t afraid to go for what he wants, and Gage wants Brady in his bed and in his life. What ensues is Gage’s seduction of Brady Smith breaking down the barriers both of our storyline heroes have erected to protect their hearts and their souls. When Brady gets injured while out on his bike, Gage places himself as nurse and protector for the man who calls to his heart.

The relationship between Gage and Brady is one of immediate attraction. Our leading couple met in the previous storyline (Flirting With Fire #1) where Gage’s attraction to Brady was met with rejection and incredulity. Brady is unable to understand Gage’s attraction to his emotionally damaged mind and scarred-up body; Brady had issues of intimacy and touch; and in this Brady believes that their sexual relationship has a time limit until Gage finds someone better. Gage isn’t looking for a one-night stand but he is a man who is looking for lots of hot and sweaty $ex. The $ex scenes are erotic, intense, passionate and graphic.

The world building pulled the focus of the storyline away from the Fire Department and into the bedroom of its two leading characters. Although we get a quick glimpse into Gage’s kitchen ability with the CPD, there was only a quick reference to firefighting. Where Flirting With Fire (book 1) introduced the leading players in Kate Meader’s HOT IN CHICAGO series, MELTING POINT kept its focus on the two storyline characters. We are re-introduced to Mayor Eli Cooper whose history with Chef Brady Smith goes beyond friendship-he has first hand knowledge of the hell Brady endured in an Afghanistan prison, and he is hoping to play matchmaker between Brady and Gage.

MELTING POINT is a fast paced storyline that focuses on recovery and letting go of the past-not just for Brady Smith but for Gage as well. There are moments of heartbreak for two men whose earlier years were filled with pain and betrayal; and the growing tenderness as they learn to love and trust one another-in the here and now. Kate Meader blends a little bit of fire with a whole lot of heat as one of Chicago’s finest finds his happily ever after.

About the book: Release Date March 24, 2015

Savvy PR guru Kinsey Taylor has always defined herself by her career, not her gender. That is, until she moved from San Francisco to Chicago to be with her fiancé who thought she wasn’t taking her “job” of supporting him in his high-powered career seriously enough—and promptly dumped her for a more supportive and “feminine” nurse. Now, as the new assistant press secretary to Chicago’s dynamic mayor, she’s determined to keep her eye on the prize: no time to feel inferior because she’s a strong, kick-ass woman, and certainly no time for men.

But that all changes when she meets Luke Almeida, a firefighter as searingly sexy as he is quick-tempered. He’s also the second oldest of the Firefightin’ Dempseys, a family of foster siblings who have committed their lives to the service—if Luke’s antics don’t get him fired first. When Luke goes one step too far and gets into a bar brawl with the Chicago Police Department, Kinsey marches into Luke’s firehouse and lays down the law on orders from the mayor. But at Engine Co. 6, Luke Almeida is the law. And he’s not about to let Kinsey make the rules.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 1, 2015

Chelsea’s hottie Blake Morgan III has reemerged from a nasty breakup. His marriage was a frigid disaster beyond repair, and he vows to be single—forever. Bruised, but still hot in Prada, he creates his Seven Desires wish list, his sexiest imaginings. Blake soon realizes there’s only one man he may trust to make these uninhibited intentions come to fruition: his best friend Miguel Santana.

Lower East Side multimedia artist extraordinaire Miguel Santana may be known as the cocky Latin stud in the city, but all he’s wanted since college was Blake’s hand in marriage. He was livid when Blake walked down the aisle with the wrong guy. Miguel has his own list titled the Seven Needs, which are quite contrary to Blake’s dirty-boy deeds. They involve serious commitments, which may leave his new-to-the-singles-scene buddy sprinting for the door, destroying any hopes Miguel has for happiness.

Can these two hunks conquer their intimate fears and love one another as only best friends can? Join the star-studded cast in The Manhattanites series and see for yourself!

NOTE: UNSAID is an extremely explicit and sexually graphic storyline of erotica with M/M sexual situations. Some scenes may not be suitable for all readers.

REVIEW: UNSAID is the third installment in Avery Aster’s contemporary, adult The Manhattanites erotica, romance series focusing on a tight knit group of friends in Manhattan burb of Chelsea in New York City. This is magazine editor Blake Morgan III, and artist Miguel Santana’s second chance storyline-a friends to lovers tale of unrequited love and a decade of regrets. UNSAID can be read as a stand alone although each installment builds upon the previous storyline’s premise.

Told from several third person points of view UNSAID is an ensemble story with several intersecting storylines and premises. Blake’s recent divorce has left our hero lost and broken; his past is darkened with dangerous secrets that find Blake hiding in plain sight from the man who all but destroyed his life. Enter Miguel Santana, a dominant and Blake’s one-time best friend, and the man who has loved Blake from afar. Blake is oblivious to Miguel’s feelings, but will accept everything Miguel has to offer even if he has to venture outside of his comfort zone with $ex and submission.

Throughout the storyline we are witness to Vive’s spiral into the abyss. Vive is besties with most of the series characters and has had issues with addiction in the past. But Vive’s drinking is out of control and she isn’t afraid to hold back when everyone else’s life moves forward as she continues to struggle with the past.

Lex and Massimo’s (Unscrupulous #1) upcoming nuptials have hit a bump in the road. While their friend’s lives begin to implode, Lex and Masi receive news of a different kind that has Lex questioning the present and the future.

UNSAID is a sexually graphic storyline wherein nothing is off limits between consenting adults but I want to point out that some of the consent is ‘dubious’; the acceptance of what was occurs after the fact; our hero Blake is a submissive but is unsure what it is he wants from the man with whom he has fallen in love. Miguel pushes the limits of Blake’s comfort and in this, there are some questionable scenes of dominance and submission.

THE MANHATTANITES, and thusly UNSAID is a character driven series that focuses on friendships, addictions, lovers and kink. Avery Aster will push your comfort level with Miguel’s need to dominate the man that he loves when said man isn’t aware of his need to be dominated. Emotions run high throughout the storyline; Avery Aster isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.

NOTE: Excerpt is recommend for 18years and older due to sexually graphic content

He went over and peeled his nylon sweats off as Miguel watched, then dropped to his knees on the mattress. Game on. He lowered his shoulders and crawled forward, palms out as a panther approaching a meal. Hungry, reaching for his friend’s cock with his right
hand, Blake stroked his shaft with his left. He witnessed his friend’s eyes roll back in pleasure. Other than his own, he hadn’t held a cock in his hands in years. Miguel’s pink head deserved his attention. A little freaked out by how easy this was, by how natural it
felt, Blake tried to stay calm and just go with it.
Miguel moaned louder in Spanish then ordered, “You’re going to be a good niño and suck my cock.”
Nodding in agreement, he asked, “And then?”
“Don’t use your hands.” Cupping his fingers around Blake’s jawline, Miguel brushed his thumb over his lips.
“I’ll keep my hands behind my back.” He clasped his palms by the floor.
“Once I’m nice and hard, I’m gonna face-fuck you, hard.” He glanced down at his dick. “When I come, you’ll swallow me—whole, understand?”
“Is there anything else, boss man?” He pretended he’d swallow, but would spit it out, like they did in adult films. Yes, that was what he’d do. Or take it on his chest, or maybe his face. Maybe.
Miguel rested himself on the mattress. “Get started.”
Supercharged with enthusiasm, he leaned forward and nipped at Miguel’s dick. He ran his tongue in long strokes along his shaft. Spice, sweet and exotic, enveloped his senses. By far the biggest he’d seen, the dick was thick, too. Licking under the shaft, he
produced enough lube to do his duty.
“Taste good?”
“Ah-huh…” He couldn’t believe he was doing this.
“Let me watch you. Take me. Come on, boy.”
First, his lips glided down. The satiny penis head hit the roof of his mouth. He opened wider. A dive down further pressed his face all the way up against the crotch. The black pubes tickled his cheeks.
“Doing good, boy.”
The cock twitched and slid in more. Deeper. Careful not to scrape the skin, his two front teeth rested at the base of his dick.
He looked up at his Latin God with a grin.
Miguel blew him a kiss and seduced Blake to continue. As their playfulness increased, he wondered for a split second what else he’d do for his best friend.
His tongue laced the nuts as he took him in further. Still nervous to pump the dick with his mouth, he continued to suck, sweetly. His nostrils burned. He thirsted for more.
“Fuck!” Miguel shouted. “Take my entire cock, chico guapo.” He pressed his body against Blake’s face. “Caliente.”
He jerked back.
His top became more fired up.

REVIEW: UNSCRUPULOUS is the first instalment and prequel storyline in Avery Aster’s contemporary, erotic series focusing on four best friends (ala Sex in the City). This is Tabitha (Taddy) Brill and hotel billionaire Warner Truman’s story.

As the owner of Brill, Inc, Taddy is thrust into the world of the rich and famous; up and coming; and wanna-be stars of today and tomorrow but it is a world with which she is all too familiar. Several months later, Taddy will walk into Warner’s life once again, and this time he is not willing to let anything or anyone interfere in his plans. Taddy will be his and he will do everything to ensure that he never loses her again.

UNSCRUPULOUS is a story about friendship. Friends who are willing to go to the mat for you; have your back; and pay it forward. This is also a story about letting go of the hurt and pain of the past where children are nothing more than accessories in their parent’s lives and accessories that can be placed in a box and taken out only when necessary. This is also a story about finding the one person in your life that will always be there, no matter the demons that continue to knock at your door or call your phone.

Avery Aster writes a sexually erotic storyline with a little bit of humor; a lot of friends; and a travel agenda that will add those air miles to your frequent flyer card. I have enjoyed the series so far.

REVIEW:

NOTE: This series is not intended for anyone under the age if eighteen. The sex scenes are graphic; the language is strong.

UNDRESSED is the second storyline in Avery Aster’s new adult contemporary erotic The Manhattanites series focusing on the rich and powerful. This is Prince Masi and Lex Easton’s storyline.

Lex Easton owns her own line of casual clothing but when the fabric supplier suddenly backs out and refuses shipment, Lex makes an emergency trip to Milan only to discover that the infamous Prince Massimo Tittoni has withheld shipment for personal and business reasons. Knowing that this will probably bankrupt her company, Lex is willing to offer a compromise but Prince Masi offers a deal she will not refuse. But in the end, it may be Masi who loses more than he had bargained for.

Avery Aster weaves an erotic tale of sex and a struggle for power in an industry that changes its’ mind every few months. The heroine is willing to exchange sex to save her business and in this, the storyline begins an intricate dance of eroticism and the building of a relationship between two people who share more than a common interest in the world of fashion.

The secondary characters play integral roles in the storyline and each will have a story to tell. From Prince Masi’s driver, fashion designer and aide, to Lex’s BFFs who own and operate million dollar franchises. Avery Aster has spread the seeds for upcoming novels where, once again, the rich and powerful of Manhattan and Europe will meet in an exotic dance of sex and sensuality.

UNDRESSED is an erotic adventure where two people discover that keeping business and pleasure separate does not always work out they way they planned. Sometimes the heart falls harder when you finally realize that the one that got away, is the one who owns your soul.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 1, 2015

The first in a new series explores the fantasies of a daring married couple—and those of a stranger invited to play along in their scandalous little games…

When he’s working, Mike Heyer is all business—every inch the alpha male, with the hard, capable body to back up his persona. But at home he can be a different man entirely, harboring appetites only his wife gets to glimpse…

When Samira first learned of her husband’s fantasies, she was reluctant, even alarmed. But after witnessing the way they set him on fire, she yielded, and happily indulged. As their games have intensified, so has the rush. And now so has the risk—they’re poised to take Mike’s indecent desires to the next level, by opening their bed to a sexy, brazen stranger. A man seeming custom-made to grant every last one of Mike and Samira’s sinful wishes.

Welcoming someone new into their lives was always a dangerous proposition, but the couple imagined if anything was at stake, it was their privacy…not their hearts.

REVIEW: CROSSTOWN CRUSH is the first installment in Cara McKenna’s adult, contemporary Sins in the City erotica series. This is husband and wife Mike and Samira Heyer, and Bern’s storyline- an erotic tale of a cuckold, his wife and the man who makes all of their fantasies come true.

NOTE: CROSSTOWN CRUSH contains erotic and graphic sexual imagery including strong language, infidelity, role play, voyeurism and M/F/M, M/F, M/M sexual situations.

A cuckold by definition is considered the man of an adulterous wife-often regarded as an object of derision; a husband whose wife is in a relationship with another man; or a man who derives pleasure from humiliation.

Told from three third person perspectives (Mike, Samira and Bern) CROSSTOWN CRUSH focuses on the kink in Mike and Samira’s marriage wherein several times per month Mike wants to feel emasculated by the idea of his wife in a sexual relationship with another man. For two years the fantasy has just been that, a fantasy role-play acted out in bed with his wife-but Samira offers to make the fantasy a reality inviting another man into their relationship and their bed. When feelings and emotions come into play a line will be crossed and there will be no going back.

CROSSTOWN CRUSH is a psychological study in paraphilia or sexual fetish- a sexual interest that is atypical and goes against what is considered the norm by society but one that is entered into wholly aware of the actions and consequences. There is no secondary storyline development-the focus is on the kink, the cuckold, and the wants and needs of everyone involved. There are no hearts and flowers; the wooing is staged; an act to create the illusion of an affair; but the heartbreak is painful and real. The conflict arises when the heart becomes involved when the body and mind lose control.

I am having a difficult time putting into words my thoughts and feelings about this particular storyline. I wanted to like the premise but the presentation and execution felt out of sync; I did not feel invested in the action or the players. A cuckold trope is not my ‘ideal’ storyline situation but who are we to judge another’s lifestyle that is different from our own. In the end, it wasn’t the sexual fetish but the overall ‘feel’ of the story that left me disappointed

As you can read I had some issues with CROSSTOWN CRUSH and perhaps it was my inability to place myself into this particular storyline. For me, I have to be able to connect with the players and feel their emotions; to be pulled into a storyline where I become one with the characters or one of the characters but CROSSTOWN CRUSH left me standing on the sidelines where I felt like a voyeur in the window of someone’s personal life.

REVIEW

5 out of 5 for this reader folks!

I am in complete and utter denial that this series is over .. I know Marni Mann will do a 6 and a 7 and a ….. my balloon of fantasy popped because this really was the end. SIGH

Alright .. now that I am done with the dramatics, I have to say this was by far one of the best serial series I have ever read. Please go and read my past reviews to get a good grasp on this story as I am not going to review the entire serial here, but only Unblocked #5 the final episode on the Timber Tower Series.

Derek and Frankie have finally gotten their you know what together and seem to have bonded to face the greater evil. Derek knows in order to keep Frankie, he is going to have to spill his guts, secrets, and feelings and lay it all out. There is a fear that Frankie will reject him after she learns what he has been plotting. Frankie also has her past to face and you get to see her finally saying what needs to be said and take a stand she should of taken a while ago.

This ending came together brilliantly, and Marni really hit a grand slam in giving us readers the ending we wanting and the answers we were desperate for. Reading this ending was like seeing all the pieces to a puzzle come together. So much character growth, trust, security and self assurance was portrayed by both the leads. I have to say that those love scenes were very .. er … cough … umm, LOVING! Actually loving is being too kind .. they were BEAUTIFULLY DIRTY and absolutely TOE CURLING! Derek likes his dirty talk, and Rachel (that’d be me) likes to read it! LOL

I really am sad this has come to an end, but very pleased that all my questions were answered. I loved the business and architecture aspect of this serial but much of that has to do with the way Derek and Frankie were portrayed!

Can’t wait for your next book Marni as you have proven time and again I can always rely on you for an awesome read!

HAPPY READING! 🙂

Nell Harper’s got her life all figured out:

Build a successful law career, find Mr. Right, then have 2.3 kids and a white picket fence. Everything is going to plan until a handsome stranger stops her from stepping in front of a speeding car.

Vincent Mason, rising politician, not only rescues Nell from death but from her safe but predictable life as he introduces her to the darker pleasures of domination and submission. What starts as a six month arrangement of sexual liberation turns into a deeper emotional exploration and Nell soon finds herself letting go of preconceived ideas of love and lust.

But can Nell trust Vincent enough to truly surrender herself?
And can she trust herself enough to listen to what her heart truly wants?

REVIEW

3.5 out of 5 for this reader folks!

Before I get into the meat and taters of this review I just want to state that I am a huge fan of erotica that features BDSM. Add a dash of great story line and you have a very happy reader on your hands. The Arrangement by Nicolette Hugo really hit its mark on some aspects and missed on others.

Nell Harper is a lawyer by trade, strong minded, set on a planned path of life and so not ready for the man that is about to rock her safe world. Vincent Mason is a up and coming politician, absolute hard core Dom who only engages in contracted relationships. When a chance encounter brings these two together, a contract is signed for a no holding back, intense sexual relationship with no icky love stuff involved. The last month of this contract finds them living the Dom/sub full time and breaking all the rules they have laid out. Before they know it, lines are blurred, crossed, and they find themselves asking much more of the other.

Overall this is a good book. I had a bit of trouble with the lack of character development, which led to a disconnect. Being an emotional reader, I crave that connect with the leads in a novel. Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of steamy scenes and the storyline had a great path to travel, but there was no build up or anticipation. It was like page one .. BAM … off we go, and we are going fast. I did however find myself rooting for these two and I did enjoy reading the angst, perhaps soon to be unexpected love this couple faced.

I will read more from Nicolette Hugo and I do recommend this read to fans of erotica.

HAPPY READING! 🙂

I Belong To You (Inside Out #5) by Lisa Renee Jones-a review

I Belong To You (Inside Out #5) by Lisa Renee Jones-a review

I Belong To You

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk/ Barnes and Noble / The Book Depository/ KOBO

RELEASE DATE: November 18, 2014

Master…

Being that person, that man is how I define myself, how I allow the rest of the world to define me as well. And now, with a terrible loss shredding me inside out and someone trying to destroy my family to punish me, control is more important than ever. It is everything. It is what I need. It is all I need. Or maybe I just need…her.

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: I BELONG TO YOU is the fifth full-length installment in Lisa Renee Jones’ adult, contemporary Inside Out erotic romance series. This is Master Mark Compton and business associate Crystal Smith’s storyline. For cohesion and backstory, the series must be read in order. The history regarding Rebecca and her association with Mark is infinitely detailed in REBECCA’S LOST JOURNALS and her disappearance and subsequent investigation is addressed throughout the entire series.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Mark and Crystal) I BELONG TO YOU is Mark Compton’s continuing storyline. With Rebecca (Mark’s last submissive and assistant) missing and presumed dead at the hands of someone they both know, Mark begins to uncover the who and why of Rebecca’s possible demise. Suspecting that his family and Crystal may become the target of the same psychotic mind that destroyed Rebecca’s life, Mark brings in an outside security team to help investigate the whereabouts of the person(s) he believes responsible. Enter the Walker Brothers and their team of former CIA, FBI and military personnel

The relationship between Mark and Crystal becomes much more than business associates and friends with benefits. From friends to lovers, their attraction to one another is immediate but Crystal is no submissive-inside or outside of the bedroom. She was hired as Mark’s mother Dana’s assistant and she will become like a daughter when Dana’s cancer becomes too much to bare. Crystal will test Mark’s power and his need to control at every opportunity, and in the end she is the one with the ultimate control of his heart. The sex scenes are erotic, passionate and intense but always consensual and imaginative.

But, if you are looking for some closure as it pertains to Rebecca’s disappearance and probable death, there is none to be had. I have my suspicions about Rebecca’s disappearance –the possible truth about what happened-but sadly, there is no confirmation or body to be found. The final chapter in the series-ALL OF ME (Chris and Sara’s final story) is set to release in 2015-perhaps the mystery surrounding Rebecca’s disappearance will also see a resolution.

Lisa Renee Jones’ INSIDE OUT SERIES began with an idea and storage locker bought at auction. From there, Rebecca’s Lost Journals shaped a series that brought readers into a world of Masters and submissives, BDSM, missing lovers and accusations of murder and abduction. Mark Compton was an enigma; a man whose cold façade and persona was not very likeable and suspicion fell like raindrops around a man who mourned the death of someone close but kept at arm’s length. His story is fraught with betrayal, heartbreak, and an intense need for control. In the end, we discover that there is a passionate and emotional man behind the mask; a man whose own past is mired in loss and controversy but a past that has shaped the direction of his life. I BELONG TO YOU is the culmination of several storylines and novellas wherein the Master will ‘submit’ to the woman that he loves.
