ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 10, 2013

Parker Davis has conquered three major American cities and is the new ‘it’ man in massage. He earned the nickname ‘Feather Light’ for his sensual touches, tender caresses, and soft voice eliciting an almost orgasmic release. Clients from all over clamor for his services and his clientele are growing by the minute. Business is at its peak, which makes Parker a busy man who has no time to deal with problems, let alone dwell on his blindness. With his declining vision, Parker has to accept his limitations and the changes brought forth by this disease, but he is not ready to relinquish the last control he has left. He is still the master in his bedroom.

Kelly Storm, a Hollywood actress, will do whatever it takes to get some much-deserved peace. Being famous has its perks, except the little privacy her popularity afforded her is slowly eating at her. With the paparazzi hounding her every minute of the day, and her personal life under constant scrutiny, Kelly wants a semblance of normalcy wherever she can get it. Under the urging of a close friend, she agrees to give Parker a try.

4 out of 5 for this reader folks!

Feather Light by Lorenz Font is classified as a contemporary erotica novel. This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I found it to be an interesting read. It didn’t blow my mind but I felt engaged in the story and characters enough to keep flipping the pages! The erotica was mild in my opinion. There were elements of BDSM, role playing and an honest desire to please between our main couple. There was no sexual line crossed that made me cringe and reading these two get to know each other sexually was quite sweet and humorous. I can see an average couple who want to spice up the bedroom engaging in kind of play these two do.

Our main man is Parker Davis, massage therapist, business owner, kinky, dominant, smart, hot, funny and fun and everyone loves and admires him. He also is suffering from a degenerative eye disease that has left him legally blind (he can make our shapes and such if the light is just right). Parker has refused to let this disease slow him down and hold him back in his life. With the help of his trusted brother and close female friend, Parker can accomplish anything and you had better think twice if you try to pity his fine ass. Parker has a reputation of providing the best massages money can buy. It’s not sex he is selling on the massage table but his feather light touch and beautiful soul somehow speaks to his clients and allows them a place to be emotionally vulnerable. Many have found emotional release and by referring his services, Parker now owns several businesses across the USA.

Kelly Storm is our main lady. She has become a seriously talented actress who is now quite the overnight sensation. Coming off a bad relationship however, her self esteem has taken a beating. She constantly has to disguise herself when she is in public and she feels suffocated by the oppressive paparazzi. When she is booked an appointment on Parker massage table, she is disguised and absolutely blown away at the capacity that this man has at stripping away all her pain.

These two have an instant connect. Parker knows there is something special about this woman despite the fact that he can’t see her. Kelly hides behind the name Ann and before she realizes that this lie will bite her, she is head over heels in love with Parker. Parker is desperate to dominate Ann (Kelly) and he also begins to fall hard. Can this relationship survive on the lie that is between them? Can Parker forgive Ann (Kelly) for the deceit he is surely soon to discover??

This book would of been a 3 out of 5 for me if it were not for the last quarter of this book. The first three quarters was a little choppy (meaning that I interpreted an abrupt end scene, enter new scene) and I wish there was a smoother flow. I rolled my eyes a couple of times but I always found and adored the humor. I wanted to smack Kelly and tell her to spill it already and thought she was kind of an idiot for holding her secret back … but that is what the story is about right?? LOL The last quarter, I have to admit I had a book of tissues with me. I cried my eyes out as the hurt and the betrayal came out, and especially for Parker who is seriously deep inside truly full of issues himself. I think the author did absolute justice to this aspect of the book.

So while this isn’t a light fluffy read, it isn’t as heavy as it could of been! This is a good book for those that have never read anything with the BDSM element.

HAPPY READING! 🙂

Interview

Lorenz FontTRC: Hi Lorenz and welcome to The Reading Café. Congratulations on the release of Feather Light.

Lorenz: Thank you. It’s nice to be here.

TRC: We would like to start with some background information. Would you please tell us something about yourself?

Lorenz: I’m a late bloomer. Upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Literature, I had no idea what to do with myself. I stumbled along until one day I found myself with grown children, a contented husband, and nothing much to occupy my time. With my free time came the realization that I have this little untapped gift for telling stories. That was when I discovered the exciting and crazy world of fiction writing, and I’ve never looked back.

Feather LightTRC: FEATHER LIGHT is your October 2013 release. Would you please tell us something about the premise?

Lorenz: Feather Light is a different take on erotic romance. First of all, the leading man is not your usual hero. Parker projects a confident façade while harboring a deep resentment for his physical limitation. He also enjoys controlling his partner in the bedroom. Then he meets Kelly, our leading lady who is not quite upfront with her identity from the first day they met. What we get is a whole lot of static filled with playful scenes and a heavy dose of reality.

TRC: Many readers are very tactile. They like to ‘feel’ the emotions of the characters–and your leading male is a very ‘tactile’ character. How difficult was it to write about a character who is blind and everything he feels and touches must be delivered to the reader through touch and emotions?

Lorenz: It wasn’t difficult to write Parker’s character. In order to write a believable story, I did a diligent research. This included reading articles about blind people and their challenges. I found myself closing my eyes in several instances and directing my energy toward using my hands to feel surfaces. I tried to put myself in my character’s shoes in order to create a realistic scenario.

TRC: What or who was the inspiration behind FEATHER LIGHT and the leading characters?

Lorenz: Feather Light was a 500-word drabble that I’d shelved two years ago. It wasn’t until I joined the contest at TWCS that I figured out that I’m ready to deal with the real issue. It’s inspired by a person dear to me.

TRC: Are any of the characters or situations in the storyline based in reality or an amalgamation of your imagination and current headlines?

Lorenz: It is pure fiction. By the time the contest was over, I stumbled upon this touching video on YouTube. Allow me to share it with you and your followers.

TRC: If you could virtually cast the leading characters in the series, which models or actors would be represent your projected image?

Lorenz: Oh, this is going to be difficult. I can never come up with faces of famous people to associate with my characters.

TRC: When writing a storyline, do the characters direct the writing or do you direct the characters?

Lorenz: It’s a two-way street. I try to develop the characters in my head before anything else. This could include their behavior, quirks and how they’d respond to any given situation. By the time the developmental stage is over and the story has taken off, the characters often times take over and does most of the writing for me.

TRC: Are you a plotter or a pantster?

Lorenz: I don’t do story outlines. I realize that there is an inherent peril to this, but I can’t get myself to write an outline only to move away from its premise come writing time. I dislike the feeling of being caged. There is a liberating feeling that I get when I freestyle. I work with a firm beginning and idea of the ending of the story, the rest is going to be an exciting journey.

TRC: What challenges or difficulties (research, logistics, etc) did you encounter writing this particular story?

Lorenz: It has more to do with a certain violent scene that might be a trigger for some readers. It took me several rewrites to get the manuscript to an acceptable level.

TRC: Many authors bounce ideas and information with other authors or friends and family. With whom do you bounce ideas?

Lorenz: I have several trusted friends who will jot down notes for me while I babble on about a concept I want to develop. They usually ask me questions to keep my ideas rolling. It’s a fun process for me.

TRC: How do you keep the plot unpredictable without sacrificing content and believability?

Lorenz: I approach a certain conflict and twist it into two scenarios in my head. I usually choose the one that makes the most sense to me.

TRC: How do you handle the pressures and anxiety of deadlines while still having time to raise a family?

Lorenz: As I mentioned earlier, my children are grown. The two younger ones are in college while the eldest graduated three years ago. So it’s safe to say that they’re self-sufficient. My hubby took over the cooking and running errands to give me enough time to meet my deadlines after my busy day at work.

TRC: If you could be a contestant on a reality television program, which program would you chose and why?

Lorenz: Sorry, I don’t have time to watch TV these days, although I did check out the much anticipated season premiere of Sons of Anarchy for a brief moment. It’s an intense show and I wouldn’t mind watching if I ever find a free moment.

TRC: What are your thoughts on book reviews-good or bad?

Lorenz: Any form of review is welcomed. Of course, a positive review makes me happy but I won’t begrudge a negative review. Whether I agree with a negative review or not, the reader is giving me their opinion. I try to take each one with a grain of salt and see which part of their comment I can work on in future projects.

TRC: On what are you currently working?

Lorenz: I’m currently writing Ascension, the third installment of The Gates Legacy Trilogy—a paranormal romance. It’s scheduled to be released in May 2014. At the same time, I’m working on editing the first draft of a young adult novel I recently finished writing.

TRC: Would you like to add anything else?

Lorenz: I have another contemporary romance novel that is slated for July 2014 release. It’s about a career soldier returning from the war with serious emotional and physical scars.

Firefighters Ashur, Kieran and Hugh are damaged men. A tragedy that took the life of their colleague has left them scarred, both physically and emotionally. Love and power are nothing to them but empty words.

The erotes hope to reignite their mother’s passion for life and love by bringing these mortal men to Aphrodite’s attention.

Warning: this 23,500 word erotic romance novella contains menage (MFM and MFMM) sex between the goddess of desire and three hot firefighters! Suitable for Adult readers only.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: IMMORTAL SEDUCTION is the fourth novella in Jennifer Lynne’s Gods of Love series focusing on the Erotes and the goddess Aphrodite. Immortal Seduction is Aphrodite’s story and one that contains a four-way (MFMM). The God’s of Love series is intended for adult readers and not recommended for anyone under the age of eighteen.

Jennifer Lynne has brought together a storyline whereby three friends must learn to let go of the past-one that is mired in pain, guilt and the realization that life goes on when others have died.

Enter the goddess of love-Aphrodite-a woman who is missing something or someone from her life and with the help of her three sons, Aphrodite will discover that the what or who she was missing are three human friends who have suffered together with the guilt over the death of a friend and fellow firefighter.

Jennifer blends the Ancient Greek gods with a contemporary storyline whereby the gods are unprepared for the love and emotional pull of the humans that have stolen their hearts and their souls. Each story focuses on one of the sons of Aphrodite and Aphrodite herself, and each story will see a resolution to a loneliness that had been buried deep behind emotions and power of lust, love and sin for both the gods and the humans they love.

Gods of Love is an amazing series that addresses many issues including transgendered individuals to loneliness and pain. Jennifer pulls the reader into the storylines where we can feel the emotional turmoil that each of her characters brings to the pages of her series.

REVIEW

4 out of 5 for this reader folks!

Like many formulas out there these days in the land of erotica, A Million Dirty Secrets by C.L. Parker delivers the handsome billionaire and the innocent, naive girl who changes his world. I happen to like that formula and appreciate it for what it is and also love how different authors spin it to make it their own.

A Million Dirty Secrets is the first book in the Million Dollar Duet Series. It takes place in Chicago, current time and centers around two main characters. Our leading lady is Delaine (Laine to those she permits) Talbot. Delaine is a softhearted, kind soul who has had to place herself in “don’t want to but I have to” position of being auctioned off as a sex slave/companion at the exclusive erotic club. She is quite self sacrificing as she is doing this to bring in a large chunk of money to ensure her mothers gets the medical treatment she requires to continue living.

Enter Noah Crawford. Noah is the rich guy who felt an instant spark when he sees Delaine at this auction and decides that two million for two years is just what he needs in his life. Sex at any time he chooses, any way he chooses and a beautiful woman on his arm at the big events that plague his life as a wealthy man. The catch … NO STRINGS! He owes nothing, no explanation and ensures that this is business contract only!

YAH RIGHT!!!!!!!! LOL

These two are a disaster right from the get go .. a hilarious disaster if you will! Their first sexual encounter had me in stitches! Delaine doesn’t like being bossed around and Noah can’t believe that the woman he bought won’t do all he says .. and SHE TALKS BACK! However, between the sheets, these two have it going on. *FANS MYSELF* This seems to be the link that keeps them together while they learn how to be around each other.

Secrets are revealed through out the story with the big one being “Why would a beautiful woman sell herself??” Noah sets out to uncover this secret and in doing so discovers so much more!

This book has some YUMMY scenes. The chemistry is absolutely there, the back and forth bantering, the punishments, and the tender moments. It also has an immature feel to it at times. I can’t place it, but I actually rolled my eyes a few times. Wasn’t that bad though or I’d be writing a very different review .. right?? LOL

So, love the fifty shades formula??? Then chances are you’ll enjoy this book as well! I am looking forward to the next one for sure as we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger … man I hate (LOVELOVELOVE) that!

HAPPY READING! 🙂

Burn (Breathless #3)  by Maya Banks – a review

Burn

Book 3 in the Breathless Trilogy

About the book: Release Date August 6, 2013

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk/ Barnes and Noble / KOBO / The Book Depository

Ash, Jace, and Gabe: three of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the country. They’re accustomed to getting anything they want. Anything at all. For Ash, it’s the woman who changes everything he’s ever known about dominance and desire…

When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has always explored his wilder side—extreme and uncompromising. He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like that. Even the women he’s shared with his best friend, Jace.

But Jace is involved with a woman he has no intention of sharing. And now even Gabe has settled into a relationship with a woman who gives him everything he needs, leaving Ash feeling restless and unfulfilled.

Then Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit, determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.

Review:

Ash has given his best friends and business partners, Jace and Gabe hell over falling in love and settling down. After all, their motto for years has been play hard and live free. And he had no plans in giving up on their mantra. Oh, but fate has different plans for Ash….

Burn begins with a chance, albeit brief, encounter between Ash and Josie in the park. Josie is there sketching and Ash just needed a breath of fresh air. And, what a breath he got. After their initial encounter, Ash becomes obsessed with finding out all that he can about Josie and the man she belongs to. Because when Ash wants something, he stops at nothing to get it.

Josie is a bit of a free spirit. She is an artist and jewelry designer and doesn’t do the regular nine to five. She has broken it off with her boyfriend and has fallen on hard times. Her art isn’t selling and she has to make her rent. Little did she know that her trip to the pawn shop would be life-changing. Once she heads back to the pawn shop to buy back her mother’s jewelry, she discovers that it has been purchased by someone and there is no way to get it back. Until she leaves the shop and runs into Ash, who immediately tells her he’ll give her back her jewelry……..for a price. Dinner. She is apprehensive, but will do anything to get the only thing of her mother’s she has left, and to get to know a bit more about the man before her.

Once they meet for dinner, Ash lays it on the line. He wants her to be his in every way. Josie finds his offer intriguing and knows that she will be his, but asks for a few days to wrap her head around the idea. They part ways, with her telling him she’ll be in touch in a couple of days with her decision. However, when Ash doesn’t hear from her in several days, he sets out to find her. And, what he finds leaves him cold. Seems Josie’s ex wasn’t happy about her dumping him and he physically attacked her. Ash packs her up immediately and takes her to his apartment, where he takes care of her and doesn’t rush her into anything. He gives her that one night, because the next? She will be his.

They embark on their relationship and they are both happier than they could have ever imagined. They fall into a routine that suits them both. Josie’s art is selling and she feels that she can take care of herself, if need be. Even though Ash would never allow it, she has a sense of independence and starts to fall in love with him, and he with her. She’s introduced to his friends, Gabe & Mia, and Jace & Bethany, and loves how close they all are. She can finally imagine a long term relationship with Ash, until she discovers what she thinks is a betrayal that sends her reeling. And, when she confronts Ash and goes back to her old apartment, they are both devastated. Only they had no idea of the events that would play out. An old threat returns and the actions taken against Josie not only threaten her being with Ash, but threaten her very life…..

I liked the first book in this trilogy, Rush. I loved the second book, Fever. I absolutely ADORED Burn! I knew that Ash’s would be my favorite. He is estranged from his family and had made his own way and his own fortune. Something that his family did not like. He was always the laid back, easy going one of the trio. But, I just knew that there was more beneath the surface. God, I love it when I’m right!! Even though he and Josie’s relationship developed quickly, it worked. I loved them together. The “old threat” that returned?? I DID NOT SEE THAT ONE COMING!! And, it affected them all, in one way or another. Of course they closed ranks and took care of business. Some of the best scenes in all three books are the girls’ nights out. Seriously!! The books are worth reading, if only for those scenes alone! They are hysterical and so much fun to read. I have my fingers crossed that Maya Banks will at least do a novella that lets us check in on this trio and their wives to see how things are going. The worst part of this being the third book of the trilogy? It’s over…………. Well done, Maya Banks. Very well done.

The Silver Chain

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 15, 2013

Bound by passion, she was powerless to resist.

One dark evening in London, photographer Serena Folkes is indulging her impulsive side with a night-time shoot. But someone is watching her – mysterious entrepreneur Gustav Levi. Serena doesn’t know it yet, but this handsome stranger will change her life forever…

Serena is fascinated by Gustav, the enigmatic owner of the Levi Gallery, and she soon feels an irresistible pull of attraction. The interest is mutual, and Gustav promises to launch Serena’s photographic career at his gallery, but only if Serena agrees to become his exclusive companion.

To mark their agreement, Gustav gives Serena a bracelet to wear at all times. Attached to it is a silver chain of which he is the keeper. With the chain Gustav controls Serena physically and symbolically – a sign that she is under his power.

As their passionate relationship intensifies, Gustav’s hold on the silver chain grows stronger. But will Gustav’s dark past tear them apart?

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: THE SILVER CHAIN is the first storyline in Primula Bond’s new contemporary erotic Unbreakable Trilogy written in the same styling as Fifty Shades of Grey and the Crossfire series. Primula will take the reader on a journey where one man learns to let go of the past and one woman will come face to face with her future. It will take a forgotten room and all of its’ demons to unleash the truth and power behind forgiveness and love.

The storyline premise focuses on Serena Folkes, a twenty year old woman looking to start a new life, on her own, away from the small town and the painful memories that continue to follow her where ever she goes. Meeting Gustav Levi, will set a series of plans into motion that will see Serena become the toast of the art world and the heart and soul of a man who believes he could no longer love.

Gustav is an enigma. A man very few people know and even fewer people who will ever get close. He is darker and more dangerous than many of the billionaire heroes in similar storylines and series-in fact I wasn’t sure if Gustav was entirely human in the initial stages of the book. Throughout the story we learn about the intimate and heartbreaking details of his past as Serena begins to break down the walls, and the people, in which Levi has surrounded himself. Serena’s past is divulged through her thoughts and memories as well as a series of childhood journals that she hopes to exorcise from her life.

The plot and story outline is fraught with mystery as we never know what are Gustav’s intentions towards the woman whom he has chained to his heart. He is aggressive yet kind; strong yet vulnerable; beautiful yet mired in betrayal of the worst kind. And it is the betrayal that has hardened his heart and closed the door to any chance of a future.

The Silver Chain is well paced, with the usual number of secondary characters that add to the colorful history of one man’s life. The similarities to Fifty Shades and Crossfire are undeniable in fact the book is promoted for those who loved these two series. We have a billionaire with a dark and secreted past; one mired by the betrayal of both love and family, as well as the forbidden and exotic world of BDSM. And a heroine, who although is not innocent, is undeniably out of her element as it pertains to Gustav Levi and the demons he keeps hidden away.

The sexual attraction between Serena and Gustav is hot, yet our broken hero is reluctant to test the intimate waters lest he fears losing control of both his body and his heart. But Serena will cross into dangerous territory that will force Gustav into a place he never wanted to return.

THE SILVER CHAIN is another fascinating look at a billionaire recluse with a dark and stormy past and, a heroine who is willing to sit out the storm for the man with whom she is falling in love. Gustav never promised her forever, in fact, he only promises her a couple of months; but in the end it is Gustav who never wants their arrangement to end.

Nathaniel West doesn’t lose control.

As the playboy CEO of West Industries, he governs the boardroom during the day; as a strict dominant with exacting rules, he commands the bedroom at night. He never takes on inexperienced submissives, but when Abigail King’s application comes across his desk, he breaks his own restrictions and decides to test her limits.

Abby’s combination of innocence and willingness is intoxicating, and Nathaniel is soon determined to collar her as his own. As long as she follows his orders and surrenders herself fully to him, no one will get hurt.

But when Nathaniel begins falling for Abby on a deeper level, he realizes that the trust must go both ways—and he has secrets which could bring the foundations of their entire relationship crashing down…

•••••••••••••••

REVIEW: THE DOMINANT is the second novel in Tara Sue Me’s The Submissive series focusing on Dom Nathaniel West and his sub Abby King. Originally written as fan-fiction based on FSOG and Twilight, The Submissive series has been released as a trilogy with the final installment in October 2013.

First, I must point out that THE DOMINANT is written in Nathaniel’s POV and it is the flip side/parallel to The Submissive. Where we were privy to Abby’s emotions and thoughts in The Submissive, The Dominant reveals Nathaniel’s inner most turmoil as he endeavors to keep his distance from the woman he has watched from afar. The Dominant storyline runs concurrent to The Submissive and tells the story from Nathaniel’s POV. The switch in perspectives is nothing new especially for fans of Twilight and FSOG. At the end of FSOG, E.L James offered up Chapter 1 from Christian’s POV and Stephenie Meyer attempted to write the Twilight saga from Edward’s POV with Midnight Sun.

The Dominant was interesting from the perspective that the cold façade of Nathaniel West hides the depth of his true feelings for Abby King. The background of the premise reveals that Nathaniel has known of Abby since their days in university. Abby had never previously met Nathaniel but his desire to possess and love Abigail King has long been at the forefront of his needs and wants. And the day she walks into his office, applying for the position of his submissive, Nathaniel embarks on a self-debasing internal argument. Disgusted by his own need to dominate, Nathaniel hopes to keep Abby at a distance when in reality he wants nothing more than to be loved and to love.

Once again, The Dominant is nothing new in the BDSM genre based on the fan-fic writings from the followers of the Twilight saga. If you have read the FSOG trilogy you will recognize the characterizations and storyline premises throughout The Submissive/The Dominant. In fact, there is virtually a character to character identical match between the different series especially to FSOG. The writing is simple; there is no philosophical conundrum or epic mystery to solve. The storyline focuses on a man whose need to dominate rules his personal and private life, and when he finds the one woman who offers herself up for be at his beck and call, he will find that she is the one who will finally break the ice around a heart that has been frozen for a very long time. Familiar story, familiar scenario, recognizable characters but a different perspective on the inner turmoil and emotions that befall a man who deems himself unworthy of love and commitment

ABOUT THE BOOK: What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn’t supposed to, and I sure as hell didn’t want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. She’s seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she’s still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?

He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won’t let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there’s someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I’d never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I’ll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can’t be what she needs, so why can’t I just let her go?

We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

excerpt

It is only then that Colton approaches me, backing me up against the kitchen counter, his hips pressing into me, and his mouth capturing mine in a mind-altering, head-dizzying, soul-emptying kiss. God, I missed the taste of him. The kiss ends much too soon, unable to get my fill after missing him for four days, and he wraps his arms around me in a tight hug that I know I could lose myself in if it wasn’t for our surroundings.

A hug teeming with a quiet desperation, he holds me to him, his face nuzzled in the side of my neck, and I can feel him breathe me in and draw strength from our connection.

“Hey,” I murmur softly as his hands press into my back. “You okay?”

“Yeah.” He breathes. “Now I am.”

His murmured confession rocks me. Hits those parts deep within in me, unjaded and still full of hope and possibility.

He finally releases me when he hears sounds in the hallway. I gaze up at his face and look beyond the handsome features that still make my breath catch in my throat every time I see him. I notice darkened smudges under his tired, wary eyes. He’s not sleeping. More nightmares? I don’t know and I don’t want to ask. He’ll tell me if he wants to. When he’s able to.

He angles his head in question to why I‘m just staring at him, trying to figure out what’s different about him when it hits me. He’s clean-shaven. I reach up and run my hand across his jaw, his face leaning into my touch. And it’s something about that little gesture mixed with his earlier confession that makes my heart swell.

“What’s this?” I ask, trying to prevent him from reading into the emotional transparency in my eyes by teasing him. “So smooth and clean shaven.”

“It doesn’t bode too well doing a razor commercial with a five o’clock shadow,” he smirks, running his palms up and down the sides of my torso. Licks of desire flicker low in my belly at his touch.

I laugh out loud. “Understandably. I like it though,” I tell him, running my fingers over it again when he frowns. “It’s okay, Ace, you still ooze bad boy without the stubble. Besides, I’ll get to sleep with someone different than this scruffy-jawed man I’ve been wasting my time on.”

He flashes me a quick smile. “Wasting your time, huh?” He takes a step toward me, lust clearly edging the humor out of his eyes.

Every part of my body tightens at the predatory way his body moves toward mine. My God. Take me, I want to tell him. Take every part of me that you already haven’t stolen, taken, or claimed.

“Oh, most definitely. He’s a rebel…” I scrunch my nose up “…and I definitely don’t do the bad boy type.”

“No?” He wets his lips with a quick dart of his tongue. “What type exactly, do you do?”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 30, 2013

This sexy, emotionally charged romance continues the story of Damien Stark, the powerful multimillionaire who’s never had to take “no” for an answer, and Nikki Fairchild, the Southern belle who only says “yes” on her own terms.

Our desire runs deep. But our secrets cut close. Beautiful, strong, and commanding, Damien Stark fills a void in me that no other man can touch. His fierce cravings push me beyond the brink of bliss—and unleash a wild passion that utterly consumes us both.

Yet beneath his need for dominance, he carries the wounds of a painful past. Haunted by a legacy of dark secrets and broken trust, he seeks release in our shared ecstasy, the heat between us burning stronger each day.

Our attraction is undeniable, our obsession inevitable. Yet not even Damien can run from his ghosts, or shield us from the dangers yet to come.

Complete Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences

Stark Trilogy

REVIEW: COMPLETE ME is the third storyline and final installment in J. Kenner’s erotic contemporary Stark Trilogy. There is no time lag between Claim Me (book 2) and this story, and therefore the stress and anxiety of Damien’s upcoming trial is still at the forefront of the reader’s mind.

Complete Me focuses on Damien’s trial and the people trying to bring down the billionaire. The reader experiences the heartbreaking revelations and painful past of a young boy who is forced into some unspeakable acts only to have to relive it over and over through memories, nightmares and the reality of courtroom drama and the press.

Nikki is the strong, independent woman who continues to stand by his side, knowing that man that she loves is bordering the edge of control on an emotional void. She is there to pull him back and help him deal with the demons that threaten to suck him in and take him down. Without Nikki, Damien is only a shell; he is a man without purpose and a heart without soul. But Damien’s need to defend and protect Nikki will force an unpleasant impasse when he refuses to open up and talk about the past.

The storyline is rife with physical intimacy, sexual heat and sensual talk. The sex is abundant and often, explicit and hot, and at times overwhelming to the story and plot. There was so much sex that I started to skip-read through these passages. Although this is written in the erotic/romance genre, after awhile the sex felt like ‘filler’-no pun intended.

There are moments of fear and concern, heartbreaking sorrow and loss. And there is the mistaken belief that to walk away, is the only solution when the world threatens to destroy the person that you love. The couple continues to struggle with their individual personality quirks and needs; Nikki’s need to be independent and Damien’s need to protect will forever be on the peripheral boundary of their love.

“I want to hold you close. To cherish and protect you. To draw you in until we are so close that I am lost without you. I want to take you to bed, to watch the way your skin tightens beneath my fingers, the way you body awakens under my touch….Everything I’ve built? All my companies? All my billions? They have no value compared to you.”

COMPLETE ME is a detailed and wonderful final chapter in the Stark Trilogy but there is still some room for short stories and novellas. The series ends with a HEA, but in my opinion it is another beginning for Nikki and Damien. J. Kenner has written a series that will make you smile and cry; you will feel the anxiety, the pain and the love; you will experience the fear of loss, the anguish of betrayal and the satisfaction of one man finding his heart and his soul in the woman who is willing to endure the suffering alongside the man that she loves.
