ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date

He was the town’s golden boy, their all-American hero. But there was a side of him he’d only shown her.

When Lyric Jackson stopped for gas in Redemption, Tennessee, she wasn’t sure what to think of the small town nestled in the middle of the Smoky Mountains. Then she got one look at Holton Clarke, saw that charming smile, and fell instantly. One night with the man in uniform sparked an ember of hope, but things didn’t quite end how she’d expected.

All Holton Clarke ever wanted to do was protect the people he cares about. He thought he’d be able to do that better as a deputy for his hometown, but one call turned his whole world and everything he thought he knew upside down. Including what he’d hoped for his future with a certain sassy librarian.

But when danger from Lyric’s past comes calling, Holton has to put his fears and insecurities to the side in order to save the woman who has gotten under his skin, but she refuses to make it easy, or give him a second chance. Now she’s under his roof, sharing his bed, and throwing him attitude and dirty looks every chance she gets.

She might claim that nothing is ever going to happen between them, but that one night they’d shared was his favorite mistake ever, and he has every intention of repeating it for the rest of his life.

REVIEW:Favorite Mistake is the next installment in the Redemption series by the ever talented Jessica Prince and oh my whole heart went out to these characters. Favorite Mistake can be read as a standalone, but the series as a whole is always better and personally recommended.

Lyric is new to Redemption, looking for a new start and hoping to find a new home. A chance encounter with Holton and she is smitten. When sparks fly between them, the end up having one hell of a passionate night together, but one that doesn’t end quite how Lyric thought it would.

Lyric is who I want to be when I grow up. She is strong, feisty and although life has thrown her through a loop, she keeps on living her life the best she can. Holton, well he is passionate about those he cares about, protective and just the right amount of grumpy to make him funny. He has a heart of gold, even if it has a few bruises. After their night together, Holton runs away, leaving Lyric feeling all kinds of ways. None of them are good.

When parts of Lyrics’ past come back to haunt her, leaving her in a dangerous situation, she finds herself being led right back to Holton. He is the town cop after all. He wants to protect her, take care of her, why she doesn’t know. He ran from their night together and hasn’t been much better since. These two have so much chemistry you can feel it coming off the pages. As the danger to Lyric gets closer, Holton is forced to deal with the things that are holding him back. Walls come down, and both Holton and Lyric must let their vulnerability be known in order to stop what is happening. But can they?

No one does a romance like Jessica Prince! Holton and Lyric are such deep characters who readers can really relate to and feel for. Now don’t get me wrong, Holton had a few moments where I wanted to knock him upside his head, but he had his reasons for doing what he did. The town of Redemption is always a world I love visiting, between past characters, secondary ones and the news ones we meet; they all make up this wonderful place where people can be people and live their lives with those they love. Five Stars!

Jessica Prince

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
