REVIEW: EXPOSE ME is the third and final instalment in the Fifth Avenue contemporary, erotic trilogy. Each of the three instalments has been written by a different author focusing on a new couple whose connection to the storyline is personal and heartbreaking. Expose Me is Alex Diaz and Chelsea Maxwell’s story- written by Kate Hewitt.

As our trio of friends-Austin Treffen, Hunter Grant and Alex Diaz make the final preparations to destroy billionaire lawyer and philanthropist Justin Treffen, Alex goes in search of the perfect person to complete the final stage of Jason’s personal and public demise.

Chelsea Maxwell is a popular daytime TV talk show host whose reputation for getting her interviewees to talk will place her on the direct path to bring all of the players together. Alex Diaz knows that Chelsea is the only person who has the ability to bring Jason to his knees but in doing so Alex will lose his heart to a woman whose past is secreted away behind physical and emotional scars. If Chelsea agrees to play along, she knows Jason Treffen will ruin her career and expose the truth about her own past.

AVENGE ME (Book 1) saw Austin Treffen (Jason’s son) and Katy Michaels begin the take down of a man whose family had to come to the realization that the man they called husband and father had lied to them his entire life.

SCANDALIZE ME (Book 2) brought together PR consultant Zoe Brook-a survivor of Jason’s sordid life; and Hunter Grant –a man whose connections to Jason’s past have destroyed his own life and his career. We watch as Hunter’s world is shattered once again when Zoe reveals that she knows the whys and what fors as it pertains to Hunter’s self-sabotage and how she wants to be play a role in the destruction of Jason Treffen.

EXPOSE ME is the culmination of three connecting storylines where each instalment will see the slow destruction of a once powerful and sadistic man. Jason Treffen is a man who has ruined countless lives; shattered many dreams; and stands poised to have his well ordered life crumble and fall. Chelsea Maxwell will take Jason to the mat but in doing so will destroy her own career in the process.

The Fifth Avenue Trilogy is a series that looks at the destructive nature of too much power and too much control; the shattered lives of everyone it has touched; and how three men found love with women who had been touched by the control and abuse.

Again, my only complaint is the slow build up of each of the storylines. The premise focused on the growing relationships between each of our couples and the destruction of Jason Treffen took a back seat until the final chapters of each instalment.

There is a wealth of information not imparted to the reader-Jason Treffen’s sins and illegal activities were revealed on a need to know basis only and focused on the devastated life of Sarah Michaels. Each of our heroines is a strong, independent and broken woman while our heroes have suffered silently for a decade with the knowledge that they were unable to save someone they loved then lost.

REVIEW: SCANDALIZE ME is the second instalment in the adult contemporary, erotic 5th Avenue Trilogy with each subsequent storyline written by a different author. SCANDALIZE ME written by Caitlin Crews follows Hunter Talbot Grant III –a quarterback whose fall from grace has placed him in PR agent Zoe Brook’s sights.

Once again, the overall focus of the series is the take down of billionaire lawyer and philanthropist Jason Treffen-a man whose polished public image hides the destructive nature of his truer deviant tendencies. Ten years earlier following the horrific and public suicide of one of Jason’s office assistants, three men including Jason’s son, have lived with the overwhelming guilt that somehow they were to blame. When a letter is sent to Austin Treffen a few months earlier explaining the who and why of Sarah Michaels’s death, the three friends-Austin, Hunter and Alex-must relive every painful moment as they come to grips with what happened and why.

The premise of SCANDALIZE ME finds Zoe Brook offering the one time football hero her public relations service-but Zoe has a secret- a dark and demeaning secret- one that connects her to the death of Sarah Michaels and the man everyone wants to take down. When she offers Hunter a chance to redeem his public persona, Zoe will become lost in the dynamic personality and sexual aura that is Hunter Talbot Grant III.

The attraction between Zoe and Hunter is immediate and not without some complications. Hunter’s reputation as a man whore only increases Zoe’s need to fix the man whose destructive path began when Sarah Michaels took her own life. Zoe intends to manipulate Hunter to help her trap Jason Treffen but finds she is caught in the web of Hunter’s sexual seduction. Zoe’s past slowly eats away at her self image and self esteem, and falling into Hunter’s bed only cements the truth she believes about herself.

One major drawback for me in this particular instalment is the slow build up to what it is Zoe wants from Hunter. Not until two-thirds of the story had elapsed did Hunter discover what it is Zoe needed from him and why. In this, the reader is pulled into a long, drawn out angry seduction of Hunter Grant by Zoe Brook. Zoe continued to battle her own demons, struggling to find a way to convince Hunter that he was her weapon of choice in the battle to destroy Jason Treffen. Zoe comes across as cold, heartless and not easily moved but the mask that she wears hides a tormented and broken soul.

SCANDALIZE ME takes the reader one step closer to the destruction of Jason Treffen-a man who uses, abuses and destroys the most vulnerable of women and men. Caitlin Crews adds her spin on a tale of the ultimate revenge against a man who is psychopathic in his actions and cold in his intent.

REVIEW: AVENGE ME is the first instalment in the Fifth Avenue contemporary adult, erotic Fifth Avenue Trilogy series with each subsequent connecting storyline written by a different author. Avenge Me is billionaire attorney Austin Treffen and events planner Katy Michaels’s storyline written by author Maisey Yates.

The overall focus of the series is the take down of Jason Treffen-lawyer, billionaire and Austin’s father. To the public Jason is the personification of perfection; an upstanding citizen and philanthropic family man but behind the scenes Jason is involved in illegal activities that have resulted in the destruction of many lives. For ten years Austin has felt the shame and guilt of his father’s sordid life until the day he meets Katy Michaels whose goal it is to destroy Jason Treffen and everything he represents.

The relationship between Katy and Austin is immediate and familiar to readers of damaged billionaire/eager virgin storylines. From a hot and steamy one-night stand Austin and Katy’s fast track to love builds in a matter of days until Austin proclaims that he is a man incapable of love and Katy should turn and walk away. Saying this, I did not feel the ‘insta-love’ or the attraction between Katy and Austin-their sex felt more like an arrangement and convenience.

Told from third person POV, the majority of this storyline focuses on the building relationship between Katy and Austin, but the take down of Jason Treffen has only started. The details surrounding Jason’s illegal activities are slowly revealed but the bulk of the information remains hidden.

The secondary characters include Austin’s best friends Hunter Talbot Grant and Alex Diaz-all three men are connected through friendship, a dark history and the death of someone they once knew and loved. It is with this understanding that each instalment in the series will focus on their (Austin, Hunter and Alex) links to Jason Treffen and the illegal activities that have resulted in too much heartache and guilt for all three friends.

AVENGE ME is an erotic storyline that felt a little choppy at times. The heroine’s need for revenge was lost in the details of her personal backstory which seem to engulf a good portion of her thoughts and direction, and detracted from the main story. As for Austin’s character, we do not get a good understanding of the man who has stolen Katy’s heart. His relationship with his parents is tense but there is very little character development or information revealed about the man. It would have been nice to see the primary characters fleshed out differently. The buildup towards Jason Treffen’s fall from grace never fully materialized as the premise focused more on Austin and Katy’s dysfunctional relationship. Hopefully, Jason Treffen’s personal and professional demise will come to fruition in the next two instalments.
