Review:
From This Day Forward by Lauren Layne is a novella that is a prequel to her new The Wedding Belles series. Leah McHale is our heroine, and she is a wedding photographer. Leah’s upcoming job was cancelled, and she was offered to help Wedding Belles photograph the ex president’s daughter upcoming wedding. Leah jumps at this chance, but when she finds out that her ex boyfriend, who is also a photographer will also work at this wedding. Since this a high clientele wedding, the ladies who run Wedding Belles, wanted both to do the work, as each could take different areas of the wedding.
Jason Rhodes is quite a charming hunk, and he is also known as a womanizer. A year ago, Leah, who was falling in love with Jason, found him with another woman in his home. Leah left Jason with a broken heart, she never looked back. Now that are both expected to work together, Leah finds it hard to control the feelings she still has for Jason.
This is a second chance romance, where Jason is determined to prove to Leah that he still loves her, and she needs to know the truth about that night a year ago. Not everything is as it may look.
What follows is a slow rebuilding of a romance that never should have ended. This was a sweet sexy charming novella with a very likeable couple, whom you rooted for. It was apparent how much they truly cared about each other, but the obstacles would depend on them giving each other another chance. In the midst of this wonderful romance was the fun of preparing for the planning of this wedding. From This Day Forward was a quick but sexy read. Lauren Layne managed to give us a bit of everything in this novella, which was an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading the first book in this series, To Have and To Hold, coming in July.
