Protector for HireKeeping her safe is crucial. Guarding his heart is impossible.

Haunted by his time in Iraq, former soldier Schwartz Patton goes off the grid, retreating deep into Montana’s untamed wilderness. Now, ten years into his self-imposed solitude, his brother tracks him down and asks for a favor. A woman is in danger, and she needs help…and Schwartz is the only one who can protect her.

Designer-loving city girls like Janelle Keebler don’t belong in the wilderness. Unless, of course, they’re witnesses to a murder by their psycho drug-trafficking ex-husbands. Still, Janelle can’t help the immediate physical response she has to her sexy-as-sin protector that leaves her wanting more than she could have ever imagined. Even if he does make terrible coffee…

Every word, every touch, every kiss ignites a need Schwartz thought he’d lost forever. He can’t stop the desperate attraction simmering between him and Janelle, even if he wanted to. Even if it means it could get them both killed.

REVIEW: PROTECTOR FOR HIRE is the fourth installment in Tawna Fenske’s adult, contemporary Front and Centre romance series. This is former US soldier Schwartz Patton, and graphic designer Janelle Keebler’s storyline. Janelle is Anna’s sister and Schwartz is Grant’s brother (both from Best Man for Hire #3). PROTECTOR FOR HIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed when necessary. Each FRONT AND CENTRE Patton sibling is named after a famous US General (MacArthur, Sheridan, Grant) and in this our hero’s name is Schwartzkopf Patton

Told from dual third person perspectives, PROTECTOR FOR HIRE finds Janelle Keebler in hiding. Her psycho ex husband-murderer/drug trafficker/all around evil man- is on the run, searching for Janelle in the hopes of ‘convincing’ his ex wife that it would be prudent if she forgot everything that she knows and saw. Janelle was oblivious to her ex husband’s business and in this she believes her ‘picker’ is no longer working. Enter Schwartz Patton-the man who has been tasked with protecting Janelle; keeping her hidden in the remote wilderness of Montana. What ensues is a building relationship between two completely opposite personalities and the realization, for Schwartz, that to move forward he has to learn to forgive himself.

Schwartz Patton has been off the grid for almost a decade. Ten years earlier, a roadside bomb in Iraq wiped out his team, leaving a gravely injured Schwartz as the lone survivor. Survivor’s guilt and the belief that he led his team to their deaths finds Schwartz living with his guilt and his wolfdog ‘Sherman’ in the Montana Wilderness. But family is never far away from Schwartz’s mind, as he continues to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations and births.

The relationship between Schwartz and Janelle is one of immediate attraction but Schwartz has been without companionship for so long that the regulars in the small town presumed our hero was ‘all sorts of crazy’ or a mute. As the storyline progresses, so too does the relationship between our leading couple, as Schwartz tries not to succumb to Janelle’s feminine allure and the scent of her designer bath oil. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative; Schwartz will lose his ‘phone sex virginity’ to Janelle.

PROTECTOR FOR HIRE is a sexy and romantic storyline that ends with another Patton family member finding love and a happily ever after. There are moments of giggle-worthy humor as we are introduced to the local townsfolk and their attempts to gather information about Janelle and Schwartz aka Triple M. And we can’t forget about Schwartz addiction to the toaster pastry-POP TARTS, and Janelle’s need for a great cup of coffee. The sexual innuendo is cause for a few guffaws and hearty groans.

The world building continues to focus on the Patton siblings and their spouses with a little cameo from the family matriarch Stella Patton. I will point out I am not a fan of the name Schwartz. I get it; all of the siblings are named for famous American Generals but Schwartz is probably the least romantic name I have ever encountered in a romance novel-by far-except for one female heroine named Brannislava. 😉

REVIEW: BEST MAN FOR HIRE is the third installment in Tawna Fenske’s adult, contemporary Front and Centre romance series. This is U.S. Marine and amateur photographer Grant Patton, and wedding organizer Anna Keebler’s storyline. Anna has been hired to organize Sam Kercher and Sheri Patton’s (Marine For Hire #1) Kauai island wedding and along the way, Anna will fall fast and hard for Sheri’s ‘perfect’ brother Grant Patton. What ensues is a building relationship between two people whose view of marriage is less than stellar. BEST MAN FOR HIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives, BEST MAN FOR HIRE follows Anna as she has not one, not two but four island weddings to coordinate in the Hawaiian Islands. When her wedding photographer quits after a rowdy game of paintball where the oblivious Grant mistakes the cameraman as a potential shooter, Anna becomes desperate for a wedding photographer. Enter Grant Patton, an amateur photographer and the best man at one of the weddings Anna has been hired to organize. As their ‘business’ relationship turns into something more, Anna begins to realize that perhaps she has been wrong about the potential benefits of marriage and love.

The relationship between Anna and Grant is sexual, sensual and one of immediate attraction but both of our leading characters refuse to give into the idea of marriage and a happily ever after. Grant is consumed by guilt from a past indiscretion; and Anna has been burned by her parent’s divorce. While Grant sees their relationship as sexy and fun, Anna begins to fall in love with a man whose secrets are tearing him apart. There is plenty of sexual innuendo between our couple-every word takes on sexual and provocative meaning.

The secondary and supporting characters include Sam and Sheri (book 1) as well as Kelli and Mac from book 2 (Fiancee for Hire). We will be introduced to Grant’s family including his sharpshooter mother who tells it like it is –there is no holding back Stella Patton when it comes to talking about sex and sexual situations. Anna will hire her sister Janelle as her island wedding assistant-Janelle’s story will be told in the next installment –Protector for Hire-where Janelle finds love with Schwartz Patton- a former soldier who has gone off the grid.

BEST MAN FOR HIRE is a sexy, passionate and captivating storyline. The characters are engaging, charismatic, and funny; the building romance is provocative and intense. Tawna Fenske seamlessly blends the previous storyline couples into an ensemble story where love will flourish under the Kauai Island sun. There are humorous moments as the brothers argue over who doesn’t want to be the best man; and of course, we cannot forget the bridal shower ‘gifts’ that brought about some embarrassing moments for the bride-thanks to her mother’s running commentary.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 21, 2014

Former Marine MacArthur Patton has made a small fortune on top-secret government contracts and black-ops missions, but his new assignment involves something more dangerous—marriage.

Well, fake marriage anyway.

To keep weapons out of the hands of terrorists, Mac has to secure a fiancée. A sweet, demure, compliant fiancée to serve as his arm candy for a few weeks while he completes the covert arms deal in Mexico. His sister claims to know just the woman, and sends her best friend to play the role.

“Sweet” and “demure” aren’t in Kelli Landers’s repertoire. A badass veterinarian who neuters big dogs and bigger men on a regular basis, she can’t wait to bring Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Detached to his knees. Her longtime crush on the commitment-phobe makes her plan to seduce him even sweeter.

Love wasn’t part of the plan, but the deeper Mac and Kelli fall into their ruse, the more danger they attract, until more than just their hearts are on the line…

REVIEW: FIANCEE FOR HIRE is the second instalment in Tawna Fenske’s adult contemporary Front and Center erotic romance series. This is former marine MacArthur (Mac) Patton and veterinarian Kelli Landers’s storyline. Mac and Kelli were first introduced in the first instalment ‘Marine for Hire’-Mac is Sheri’s brother and Kelli is Sheri’s best friend. Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty.

The focus of the storyline is Mac’s need for a ‘fake fiancee’. Under cover, working on an illegal arms deal, Mac let it be known to his contacts in Mexico that he was newly engaged. Needing someone to portray his fake fiancée, Mac looks to his sister’s best friend Kelli. Little does Mac realize but Kelli has had a crush on Mac since she was a young girl.

The relationship between Mac and Kelli is one born of necessity that turns into something more. Both Mac and Kelli are afraid of commitment; afraid of losing someone they love; and afraid to allow anyone close enough to inflict heartbreak and pain. Mac barely remembers Kelli as his sister’s best friend and discovering there is more to Kelli than a pony-tailed little girl, leaves Mac reeling with emotions he cannot explain. Playing along with the impending nuptials, Kelli and Mac find themselves thrown into dangerous situations where Mac nearly loses Kelli on numerous occasions. Someone is out to destroy Mac’s plans using Kelli as a pawn in an arms deal that goes terribly wrong.

Tawna Fenske pulls the reader into a story of forbidden love between two people who go into the fake relationship knowing that nothing will ever come of it in the end. But like everything in life, nothing is ever a given when Kelli and Mac open their eyes and hearts to the possibility of a happily ever after.

FIANCEE FOR HIRE is a fast paced, erotic and intimate look at a relationship built upon a lie. The secondary characters include Mac’s mother Stella and brother Grant, as well as the armed players in a game of terrorism and weapons deals. Mac’s sister Sheri makes an appearance as the go-to woman for her best friend when things begin to heat up between Kelli and Mac.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Re-release July 1, 2014

She thought she’d sworn off military men for good…

Sam Kercher is every inch a wickedly hot Marine. Tall. Sexy. Lethal. When his best friends call in a favor, Sam is forced to face an entirely new line of duty—playing nanny for their newly divorced sister and her squirming seven-month-old twin boys. If Sam can dissemble an M16 in his sleep, diaper duty should be a cakewalk…right?

Unfortunately, Operation Nanny isn’t quite that simple. Sheridan has sworn off overbearing military men, so Sam must protect her from her dirtbag ex without revealing just how much he has in common with her brothers. Or that he’s been ordered not to touch her. Ever. Problem is, Sheri’s one hell of a gorgeous woman, capable of making this hard-bodied marine even harder. And Sam wants her bad.

Protect the girl. Care for the babies. Hide his identity. And keep his hands off. But even the most disciplined Marine has weaknesses…and Sheridan is one Sam might not be able to resist.

••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: MARINE FOR HIRE is the first instalment in Tawna Fenke’s contemporary, adult Front and Center erotic romance series. This is marine Sam Kercher and divorced mom Sheridan (Sheri) Patton-Price’s storyline. Sam is on leave from the marine’s pending the results of an investigation and his former military buddy and best friend MacArthur (Mac) requests a favor-become his sister’s ‘manny’ for her seven month old twin boys while keeping an eye out for her deviant ex-husband.

The focus of the storyline is the building relationship between Sam and Sheri. After catching her husband in bed with a younger woman following the birth of their twins, Sheri is slowly realizing that raising seven month old twins and working full time is impossible without some much needed help. Raised in a family of marines and married to an alpha military male, Sheri has sworn off military men and all of the problems that come with. Enter Sam Kercher, a man hired by Sheri’s brother Mac to look after the babies-only Sam must keep secret that he is a marine.

The attraction between Sheri and Sam is immediate and hot. Sam first met Sheri years before but Sheri has no clue how Sam fits into her brother’s life. As Sheri and Sam dance around their sexual attraction to one another, Sheri’s ex husband makes a play to get his family back. Sam is a man determined to look after Sheri and the boys but soon realizes that he wants Sheri for so much more.

The secondary characters include Sheri’s brother Macarthur and her BFF Kelli. Mac and Kelli’s storyline is next in Fiance For Hire. Mac is another alpha marine male who knows a thing or two about protecting the people that he loves and Kelli is a veterinarian who has had a thing for Mac for years. The world building pulls together the sights and sounds of Hawaii; the world of the U.S. Marines; and a group of friends and family who will do just about anything to protect those that they love.

MARINE FOR HIRE is a fast paced, sensual although predictable storyline about two people destined for one another who must move past the obstacles of previous heartbreak and betrayal. Tawna Fenske writes a story with a little bit of mystery, suspense, romance, sex, passion and a happily ever after. We should all be able to find a ‘manny’ like Sam Kercher and it doesn’t hurt that he knows a thing or two about raising children and making the beds.
