 Review:

Make Your Move by Laura Heffernan is the third and final book in the Gamer Girls Series. 

Shannon is a girl that loves to play and write games. In fact it’s safer for her that way, having never fallen in love, Shannon doesn’t really flirt or date, in fact Shannon finds it all so very frustrating. She can’t seem to connect, life in the virtual world seems so much easier. 

Shannon needs to find a flat mate, that too is proving a difficult task, the only person that seems right on osier is her gaming Buddy Ryan, but Ryan has a huge crush on Shannon!! So maybe that’s not the way to go. But with a little convincing, they give the flat sharing a go…. 

It goes surprisingly well, in fact Shannon sees Ryan in a different light, they have a laugh, they like the same stuff. Could she let him in? 

By the time she figures this out, Ryan has moved on, (not getting your feelings reciprocated has a tendency to do that) can she let Ryan know that she’s interested? And if she does will it count? 

I have to say that I enjoyed this one a little more than the others. Shannon’s attachment to her two best friends is evident, her work place needs a good shake up, and she needs to form a few more attachments (Ryan for one) the conflict that Shannon faces on a daily basis must have been so draining. All she wants is what her two best friends have, but she can’t flirt and be casual, there has to be a connection between her and the other person. And watching Ryan form an attachment to someone who is not right for him was messing with her head. 

Catching up with the other previous (book) characters was good, it felt like catching up with old friends. Downside, I didn’t need so much info on game playing (yes I know that’s the premise of the book, but that’s my opinion) 

So will Shannon get her man? Will she get this game finished that she’s working on? You’ll have to read to find out ?

Review:

Against the Rules by Laura Heffernan is the second book in her Gamer Girls series. 

In the last book (it’s not necessary to read, but it does give you a little background to take you into this book.) Holly finds out her fiancé had been cheating on her, and he’s stolen money from her, so she dumps him…. 

But that has given her confidence a huge knock, so she retreats into the shop she works in (a gaming shop).  After her friends (Gwen and Shannon)  convince her to go out and have a little fun, she plucks up the courage to go out, but with whom? 

Nathan is her best friend’s dad, so she shouldn’t be looking at him, but there is something about Nathan that appeals to Holly, and once they start playing this new game, she sees him a whole new light. (And to be honest, she’s always had a little crush on him)

Marc is Holly’s indecisive game customer (but is that to get Holly’s attention?) he comes in and they discuss the games. When he finally plucks up the courage to ask her out, it’s via text (but it’s the modern world and dares are now arranged that way, I suppose?) 

And after a couple of disastrous online chats, Holly needs to get out into the real world and date (can’t do it all online) 

So …… who will Holly choose? And what about the cheating thieving ex? You know somewhere along the line he’s going to make an appearance. Will she be sweet talked into letting him back into her life? 

I’ll have to be honest, I liked this one, but not as much as the first book (She’s Got Game) the characters bounced off of one another, where in this book, I don’t get that same feeling. 

I did like the game thought at the beginning of the chapter, but not sure I needed to hear so much about the Game they were playing.

Review…. 

She’s Got Game by Laura Heffernan is the first book in her new Gamer Girls series.

Living your life playing games, it seems like a great life. 

Gwen is also a blogger, and likes (no loves it) to travel. Reading the description, I did wonder if Gwen was more of a dungeon and dragon type player. (The game was fairly simple. Players rolled a pair of dice, then collected cards with different “resources” on them. The resources could be discarded to build various structures. A bad roll could result in losing cards, and the first player who got to ten points won.) 

Cody loves to win, and there is nothing he won’t do to make sure he comes out on top. He seems like a nice guy, until he hits the tables, then all bets are off. 

Cody and Gwen meet at the gaming tables. There is lots of “trash talk” and a little flirting. But although Gwen finds him cute, she won’t date a gamer. (She did once and got taken advantage of, so she swore never again) But as the games proceed, Gwen is finding it harder and harder to resist him. 

Then the inevitable happens ….. Gwen doesn’t know how to process the night they spend together, her emotions are running high, she second guesses everything. 

So will Gwen give Cody another chance? What happens when the game ends? 

You’ll need to read to find out ?

Well written and thought out. Hoping Shannon and Holly get stories and they are Gwen’s best friends. 

That was a fun read ?
