ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 14, 2021.

Remi Carter has survived her fifteen minutes of fame and is putting LA in her rearview mirror. As a former reality show contestant, she’s trading staged expeditions and faked wilderness tours for real adventures. Only one fluke storm in Glacier National Park has her stranded with a handsome man, and adventure takes on a whole new meaning.

Seth King is as rugged and sexy as he is annoyed to be trapped with Remi. Probably because she ghosted him at the local bar not three days ago. But she’s got her reasons for ditching him, and twenty-four hours in an abandoned Montana cabin with the wildlife biologist isn’t nearly enough time to explain.

As tempting as he is by firelight, she’s been burned too many times.

Except one day together and suddenly her travel van doesn’t hold as much appeal. The open road feels lonely. Remi’s about to learn that shelter is more than a safe place to weather a storm.

Shelter might just be the man himself. If he can give her a reason to stay.

REVIEW:SHELTER is the second instalment in Kristen Proby’s contemporary, adult HEROES OF BIG SKY erotic, romance series, a cross over/ spin off from the author’s LOVE UNDER THE BIG SKY series. This is twenty-seven year old, rancher/ Park Ranger Seth King, and reality television star Remi Carter’s story line. SHELTER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Seth King is the son of Zach King (Falling for Jillian) and was first introduced, as a teen, in book one LOVING CARA of the original series.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the storyline premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Remi and Seth) using present day and memories from the past, SHELTER follows the building romance and relationship between twenty-seven year old, rancher Seth King, and reality television star Remi Carter. Remi Carter is a former reality television, ultimate athlete who is currently touring the country by herself when she stops in Cunningham Falls, Montana, with the desire to visit Glacier National Park but a freak September snow storm finds Remi cabin bound with Park Ranger Seth King, in the wake of Seth’s warning not to walk the park alone. Upon their return, Seth offers Remi a place to stay, in an effort to get to know our storyline heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Seth and Remi, and the potential fall-out as Seth has no plans for a happily ever after, and Remi is offered another shot at the ultimate crown.

Seth King’s past has affected his view of marriage and kids, and in this he has no plans for a family but meeting Remi Carter gives Seth pause for thought, thoughts of what if, or why. Remi Carter’s earlier years were no conducive to a happy childhood but Remi wasn’t going to let her past affect her relationships for the future.

The relationship between Remi and Seth is one of immediate attraction; a small town, close proximity relationship in which appearances and Seth’s overwhelmingly large family threaten Remi’s hold on her sanity. Time spent together means revealing demons from the past, demons Seth had struggled to acknowledge with family or friends. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Several characters cross-over from the author’s LOVE UNDER THE BIG SKY series including Zack and Jillian, Josh and Cara, grandma Nancy King, as well as several nieces, nephews, siblings and cousins, and Remi’s new boss and deli owner Annie.

SHELTER is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of betrayal and survival, acceptance and moving forward. The fast paced, character driven premise is captivating and encouraging; the characters are feisty, and energetic; the romance is spirited, and provocative.

REVIEW: COURAGE is the first instalment in Kristen Proby’s contemporary, adult HEROES OF BIG SKY erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s BIG SKY series. This is Cunningham Falls firefighter Sam Waters, and manicurist Natasha Mills’ story line. COURAGE can be read as a stand alone-you do not have to have read the previous series but several characters cross over for familiarity and cohesion.

Told from dual first person perspective (Natasha and Sam) COURAGE follows in the wake of the death of Sam’s sister Monica and her husband Rich, leaving five year old twins Kevin and Kelsey in the custody of Sam, and Natasha Mills. Instant parenthood and the fallout of grief and loss find Natasha battling with her new direction in life until Sam moves in to help co-parent the twins but all is not going according to plan as the twins struggle with their new normal, and Sam’s decision to follow his dream. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Sam and Natasha, and the potential fall-out when Sam moves leaving his family behind.

Natasha Mills has had a crush on Sam Waters for most of her life but thrown together as an instant family was something she never expected. Ill-prepared for co-parenting two five year old twins, Natasha feels her dependence upon Sam and others proves she is not ready but the biggest shock comes when she finds herself a single parent, alone with no support from the man that she loves. Natasha will give up everything to raise her best friend’s children, while Sam continues forward with his new friendships and life. Sam Waters has always wanted to work for the Seattle FD, and his dream is about to come true at the expense of leaving his new family behind but when the reality of the situation finds Sam facing life on his own, our hero makes a decision that will affect their future going forward.

The relationship between Natasha and Sam is a friends to lovers forced together by circumstance and loss but a few months later, their long distance relationship is about to implode when Natasha is left behind to deal with the fall-out of everything and more. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Several characters from the author’s BIG SKY series cross over for familiarity as well as the introduction of Natasha’s estranged brother Gage.

COURAGE is a story of loss, grief, forgiveness and moving forward; a story of family, friendships, and sense of hopelessness and struggle when everything begins to spiral out of control. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is captivating; the characters are energetic and enthusiastic but struggling in the face of overwhelming loss, a lack of communication, and new found responsibility.
