REVIEW: HOSTILE HEARTS is the first instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult REVEL ROSE BILLIONAIRES erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s NOLA Defiance MC series. This is twenty-nine year old, acquisition and mergers manager Nash Harrington, and event planner Brianna Cox’s story line. Nash Harrington is the step-brother to Hurricane and Bayou, son to Ingrid, and brother to Novah (NOLA Defiance MC). You do not have to have read the previous series but there may be some back story revealed in the MC series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nash and Brianna) HOSTILE HEARTS follows in the wake of Nash Harrington venturing away from his father’s control, starting a business of his own. Years early, Nash’s father left the family having had a secret family on the side. Fast forward to present day wherein Nash, having been set up to take a fall by his father, and loosing his largest account to a business rival, sets out on his own, in the hopes of surpassing his father’s control. Desperate to regain control of his lost account, Nash hires successful event planner Brianna Cox, the woman with whom he will fall in love but Brianna and Nash’s pasts about to collide, and Brianna finds herself torn between friendship, duty and contractual obligations, obligations that will pick friend against foe. What ensues is the building but forbidden relationship between Brianna and Nash, and the potential fall-out as misunderstanding, miscommunication, jealousy and revenge pull our couple in opposite directions.

Nash Harrington knew one day he would surpass his father in power and control but blindsided by backstabbing family and friends, Nash must take control of his life, beginning with distancing himself from sins of the past. Meeting Brianna Cox stirs something deep within our story line hero but Brianna’s place in his life comes with questionable associations, associations that could break our story line hero. Brianna Cox doesn’t want to destroy a life-long friendship but contractual obligations and fear of reprisal force our heroine to hurt someone she loves.

The relationship between Brianna and Nash begins as a business arrangement one in which Nash pushes a little too hard. Put off and put out by our story line hero, Brianna struggles with her attraction to a man that could all but destroy her business and her heart. The $ex scenes are passionate, seductive and intense.

We are introduced to Brianna’s roommate Paisley, and her best friend Blake, as well as Nash’s friends Lucas, Cam and Asher, as well as the cameo of Hurricane, Bayou, Novah and Ingrid.

HOSTILE HEARTS is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets, power and control, attraction and obsession, acceptance, forgiveness and love. The premise is emotional and engaging; the romance is captivating and erotic; the characters are energetic, powerful and charismatic.
