REVIEW: THE SILENCER is the third instalment in Brooke Summers’ contemporary, adult HOULIHAN MEN OF DUBLIN dark, erotic, Irish Mafia romance series, a spin off from the author’s MADE series with characters from in the Fury Vipers MC series. This is Emmanuel Dellinger aka the Silencer, and Clodagh O’Rourke’s story line. THE SILENCER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Clodagh O’Rourke is is best friends with Lisa Turner (The Cleaner #2)

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers. Some of the events of THE SILENCER cross over with, and run parallel to some of the events of book two THE CLEANER.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Emmanuel and Clodagh) covering several years in the life of our story line couple THE SILENCER follows in the aftermath of the abduction and abuse of our story line heroine. Emmanuel Dellinger’s father was an animal, and his kidnapping of Clodagh O’Rourke, an eleven year old girl meant Emmanuel lived with the guilt of his father’s sins. Over the years, Emmanuel would find himself following the young woman he would grow to love but his need for revenge marked Emmanuel as a powerful assassin, The Silencer for the group known as the Houlihan Men of Dublin. Throughout the years, Emmanuel would make a name for himself whenever someone powerful had been betrayed but his years long, continued focus on his father’s victim would lead to an affair, a romance, and his own happily ever after. As the threats against the Houlihan Men of Dublin, the Gallagher Irish Mafia and the Fury Vipers MC becomes personal and connected, the crew must round up the troops to protect the most vulnerable and the woman who hold their hearts.

The world building is detailed and complex covering several years in the life. From the Gallagher Crime Family (Made Series), to the Fury Vipers MC, everyone will become a target of the group known as the Boston Elite Syndicate, an organized crime group that is determined to gain control through power and murder.

The relationship between Emmanuel and Clodagh begins from a distance as Emmanuel’s guilt about his father’s crimes begins to eat away at our story line hero. Determined to protect Clodagh, Emmanuel finds himself guardian and lover of the woman with whom he will fall in love but saying that, I did not feel the heat or sexual attraction between our couple,-it felt rigid and presumptive. The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of familiar, energetic and powerful secondary and supporting characters including Stephen Maguire and Jessica Grace (The Eraser #1) , Maverick O’Hara and Lisa Turner (The Cleaner #2) ;Handler and leader of the Houlihan Men of Dublin Jerry Houlihan; several members of the Gallagher Irish Mob; Fury Vipers MC, The Agency; and the Boston Elite Syndicate. The requisite evil has many faces.

Maverick O’Hara is an assassin; a cleaner who takes down the baddest of the bad but someone else is taking aim at Maverick’s targets, someone who will be known as the Hanging Reaper. The world building follows several paths including the destruction and take down of the local scum, people who target the innocent, children, women and the weak. As Lisa must come to terms with the past, Maverick must come to terms with the woman with whom he has fallen in love.

The relationship between Maverick and Lisa begins years before when Lisa saved Maverick’s life.
