Description:

There’s a budding romance on Butler Mountain, but in the hornets’ nest known as the Abbott family, keeping a secret is no easy feat…

Colton Abbott and Lucy Mulvaney have a secret. Colton’s nosy siblings have begun to put the pieces together, but it’s not like Lucy to keep things from those closest to her—especially her best friend, Cameron, who recently moved to Vermont to live with her true love, Will. But Lucy isn’t about to tell Cam she’s having a fling…with Will’s brother.

Flitting between New York and Vermont is exhausting, so Lucy is looking forward to a long weekend with Colton at the Abbott family lake house in Burlington. Too bad Will and Cameron have the same idea, and once Colton and Lucy are caught red-handed (and red-faced), will their clandestine romance lose its appeal or will their secret beginnings be the start of something lasting?

Review:
I Saw Her Standing There by Marie Force is the 3rd book in her Green Mountain series. I love stories on family romances, as we follow the siblings. Green Mountain series continues this trend of fun romances.

The story starts with Colton Abbot anxious to spend private time with his weekend girlfriend, Lucy, whom is best friends with Cameron, our heroine in the first book. Colton and Lucy live 6 hours away from each other, and use the weekends as getaways. Colton arranges with his father on the guise of fishing by himself to use the family mountain cabin. Colton wants to ensure privacy, since he wants to culminate their relationship, and Lucy is not comfortable taking the next step.

This relationship, though a lot of fun and humorous at times, seems doomed from the start. The distance between them, with neither wanting to move is a major issue. The other is Lucy’s determination not to become serious, as she knows Colton will never leave Green Mountain, and his family, not to mention she has no plans to leave her own family. They have kept their fling a secret from his family and her friend Cameron.

A lot of the fun of this story is the family interaction to Colton’s secret woman, and the family patriarch’s scheming. Will and Cameron decide to get away for the weekend, and they are offered the keys to the cabin. The fun is when they come across Colton and Lucy.

This is a nice heartwarming romance. I enjoy the bantering with the family among each other, and how they open up to Lucy. Getting to spend time with Will & Cameron, and Hannah & Nolan was great. As I said, this was lots of fun. Early on though, I wasn’t really crazy about Lucy, since she seemed more distant and afraid to act on her feelings.

Though I did enjoy their relationship, I wasn’t totally convinced about them together. There were many sex scenes that dominated the entire story and their relationship. Though they professed to love each other, it left me with the question….was this truly love or just lust?

Overall, this was a fun story, and some great characters to enjoy. I do recommend this book.
