After surviving a troubled childhood, Denise can’t believe that she’s blissfully married to her partner and soulmate. She’s confident that not even Mason’s long-term, deep-cover assignment will shake their bond. And she certainly doesn’t anticipate that when he finally walks back through her door that he’ll have no memory of her, himself, or their time together…

When Mason is pulled out of an operation gone bad, all he knows is what he’s told — that he was a covert agent, that he has information vital to national security somewhere in his head, and that they can tell him no more for fear of burying those hard-fought secrets even further. They tell him nothing else; not even that the beautiful woman who makes his heart beat faster is not just his partner, but also his wife.

The secret she must keep wrecks Denise, who wants only to return to Mason’s arms. But despite the desire that still burns hot between them, she can’t tell him who she is—or that she’s carrying his child.

But when dark forces threaten both their lives in order to retrieve the information trapped in Mason’s mind, it’s not their past that will be tested, but the tenuous new love now burning hot between them.

REVIEW: BROKEN WITH YOU is the second instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult STARK SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series-a spin off from the author’s numerous Stark Series. This is Special Forces soldier Mason, and his wife, Stark Security specialist Denise ‘Denny’ Walker’s story line. BROKEN WITH YOU can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history. Denny and Mason’s story begins in the prequel, short story SHADOWS OF YOU (Stark Security .5)

Told from first person point of view (Denny), and third person Mason aka Jack, BROKEN WITH YOU follows the rekindling relationship between spouses Mason and Denise ‘Denny’ Walker. Mason Walker has been on assignment for close to two years but for a few hours in February would have to last Denny a lifetime when her husband disappeared, once again. Fast forward to present day wherein Denny’s husband would return a different man, a man who can no longer remember who he is, or the wife that he once loved. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Denny and Mason, and the potential fall-out as the ramifications of Mason’s last assignment threaten the woman he loves, and the possibility of thousands of other lives.

Denny Walker struggles with the absence of her husband, a man with whom she is deeply in love, but a man whose assignment has placed him in the direct line of fire. Mason Walker returned home to the unfamiliar: from the loss of information and knowledge, to the unknown including the missing years he spent with his wife, Mason battles between head and heart knowing that if and when the memories return, it may trigger a fall-out unlike anyone could have imagined.

The relationship between Denny and Mason is a rekindling romance, friendship, and relationship between a man whose memories have been wiped by an unknown source, and a woman who remembers everything but has been cautioned to reveal nothing to the man that she loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Denny’s Stark Security co-workers and team: Quincy Radcliffe and Eliza Tucker, as well as Eliza’s sister Emma; Liam Foster, Ryan Hunter, Cass, Sylvia, Colonel Anderson Seagrave, Peter and Cerise, Nikki and Damien Stark.

BROKEN WITH YOU is an emotional and heart breaking story line of betrayal and second chances; an intriguing and twisted look at power and control; vengeance, wrath and treason. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is spicy and hot; the characters are broken, energetic and strong.

REVIEW: SHADOWS OF YOU is the prequel short story in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult STARK SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for the Stark Security Agency.

Note: If you’re a subscriber to J. Kenner’s newsletter, you may have already read this story in the bonus Valentine’s Day anthology, Be Mine.

Told from first person perspective (Denny) SHADOWS OF YOU follows Denise ‘Denny’ Walker as she is about to celebrate her wedding anniversary alone. It has been two years since she last saw her husband Mason, two long years where she hasn’t seen or heard from the man that she loves. Hoping to cheer up their colleague and friend Nikki Stark, and her best friend Jamie treat Denny to one night in the penthouse suite and a personal massage. What ensues is an erotic encounter between a blindfolded Denny, and the man she believes is the husband she loves.

SHADOWS OF YOU introduces a relationship dynamic between two people who have not stopped loving one another but also introduces the possibility that not all is as it should be. A quick read; an intriguing and engaging addition to the author’s Stark Security series.

The sidewalk was clear on both sides, and only a few empty cars dotted the parking area as heat shimmers rose off the asphalt. The world was a fucking inferno, but all things considered, that seemed apropos. Hadn’t he been tossed right out of the frying pan and into the fire?
A sign that looked like it hadn’t been updated since the fifties sat perched atop vertical steel poles and identified the rundown little motel as the Stay-A-While Motor Inn. Hopefully that was only a suggestion, because he wanted to get out of there sooner rather than later.
He walked down the sidewalk toward the sign, passing the pasted colored doors along the way. Green, room 106. Blue, room 105. Yellow, room 2014.
This path was familiar, and there was some comfort in that.
At the same time, having the full extend of his remembered life marked by the Easter egg colors of a half dozen doors wasn’t exactly enough to have him jumping for joy.
The same woman was in the office. About sixty with Lucille Ball hair-he remembered I Love Lucy!
She smiled at him from behind a counter. “Well, you’re looking much better today. Got yourself some sleep, I guess?”
“I did,” he said, then cleared his throat as he glanced around the room. “You got a bus schedule?”
She shook her head. “Sorry, no. Where you heading?”
“Just meandering,” he said, as if he was Jack Reacher, and it was perfectly normal to wander aimlessly around the country.
“Well, let me see if I can find a schedule online for you.” She inched toward a computer that looked to be older than he was, but stopped midway down the counter to answer the phone as she rummaged through a drawer.
He cocked his head, his hand sliding into his pocket as his senses went on high alert.
The phone.
He relaxed.
Of course. He should have realized immediately. The numbers. They were a phone number. 323-555-0717.
“Oh, good, I found it,” she said after ending the call. She pulled a crumpled brochure from a drawer. “So the Greyhound station’s not too far away. That what you’re looking for? Or did you want local routes?”
“Greyhound,” he said, thinking of the 323 area code. “I need to make a phone call. And then I think I’ll head to Los Angeles.”
“Friends there?”
“I guess I’ll find out.”

REVIEW:

NOTE: HIS WICKED TOUCH was originally titled WILD THING and was released in the 2017 ESSENCE OF MIDNIGHT anthology.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Luc and Caitlyn) HIS WICKED TOUCH by J. Kenner is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, erotic, paranormal romance novella focusing on wealthy businessman and panther shifter Luc Agassou, and police officer Caitlyn Raine. For several months Caitlyn Raine visited the panther exhibit at the local zoo, mesmorized by the beast known as Midnight, a beast she believed called to her heart. A beautiful birthday gift from a Voodoo priestess somehow connected our heroine to a series of nightmares and dreams, dreams that would lead to our story line hero. Unable to refuse his advances, our heroine trusts a man she knows nothing about.

Luc Agassou believed himself the monster of legends when a series of attacks against the people of New Orleans reveals a large feline may be responsible for the injuries and more. Finding his mate would hopefully end the curse, and with it the probability of the end to the animal rampage. What ensues is Luc’s rapid seduction of our story line heroine in an effort to stop the beast from hurting again.

The relationship between Luc and Caitlyn is one of immediate attraction but an attraction Luc knows is fated by DNA. Caitlyn is our hero’s mate but months of watching and waiting meant Luc would have to set himself free from the confines of his self-imposed prison. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

HIS WICKED TOUCH is a fast paced story of want and need; obsession and fate; animal instinct and DNA. The premise is entertaining; the characters are colorful; the romance is steamy. My only complaint-I wish there was deeper character development and world building but such is the nature of a novella length story.

A tear slid down her cheek, and she roughly brushed it away. “It’s only a birthday,” she said, her whisper directed toward the panther.
The great cat stared back, then settled himself on the cool stone, his regal head resting on crossed paws.
“Time to see what I’ve got here,” Cate told it. At midday in the summer heat, the zoo was almost empty, so no one would hear her talking foolishly to a cat. As she lifted the lid on the box, though, all thoughts of idiocy left her head, replaced with an intense sense of wonder.
There, nestled in the velvet-lined interior of the box, lay the most beautiful glass perfume bottle Cate had ever seen. The product of exceptional artistry, the bottle evoked an erotic sensuality, warm silver intricately intertwined through cut, cool crystal. “Oh,” she whispered, the word little more than a sigh, as she lifted the bottle out.
Obviously an antique, the bottle was more solid than it looked, and despite its almost ephemeral beauty, she didn’t worry that she would accidentally break it. This bottle had seen the world, and she let her imagination fly as she pictured it decorating the dressing tables of royalty, holding specially commissioned perfumes or scented oils for a king’s mistress. Because surely a bottle such as this had witnessed both passion and intrigue.
This was no casual gift, and Cate was baffled that Alma—a woman she barely knew—would give her such an extravagant present. Although the bottle was empty, Cate couldn’t resist the urge to tug at the stopper, but it was stuck fast. Not that it mattered. The bottle was bone dry and probably had been for some time. And it wasn’t as if she’d ever take the time to fill it with her favorite fragrance. That was hardly her style, though she was happy to add the beautiful bottle to her dressing table.
She held it up to take a closer look at the fine crystal. The facets caught the light, breaking it into a rainbow of color. And when she shifted the angle, sparks seemed to leap from the bottle into the humid Louisiana air.
In front of her, the cat raised itself, then stood rigid. Its nose twitching and its eyes near-slits.
“What is it,” she whispered. “What’s wrong?”
The cat didn’t answer. And Cate realized that she’d actually expected it would. Absurd.
Instead, it began pacing, more frenetic than before. It circled the habitat, faster and faster, as if searching for a heretofore unnoticed exit.
Still holding the bottle, she stood, then moved to the fence. The cat stopped, turning to face her. Their eyes met, and she lost herself in the deep color of the beast’s irises. She stood, mesmerized, as seconds turned to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to eternity. She’d been drawn in, and now the panther was filling her head, overwhelming her senses. She was the panther. Stalking. Caged. Anguished.
Wanting. Needing.
Needing her.
Gasping, Cate jumped back, the spell broken. She glanced at her watch—barely a minute had passed. Had she drifted off into her own daydreams? Or had the panther called to her, reaching out to meet her mind?
Once again, she had to wonder at her far-fetched imagination today. A mind meld with a panther? Because, yeah, that was so much more likely than the reality that she’d simply drifted off because she was overtired and sleeping so poorly.
That was it, of course. A reasonable, rational explanation. And Cate clung tightly to it.
But at the same time, she couldn’t shake the overwhelming sense of foreboding. The sense that she was being stalked.
That there were demons in the dark, and they knew her name.
“Do you know?” she whispered to the panther.
“Do you know what’s happening?”
And then, drifting on a wind that was surely born of imagination, Cate heard the whispered reply—I know, Caitlyn. I know that you are mine….

REVIEW: SHATTERED WITH YOU is the first instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult STARK SECURITY erotic, romance series, a spin-off from the author’s numerous Stark series. This is former British MI6 agent and security specialist Quincy Radcliffe, and American actress Eliza Tucker’s story line. Quincy Radcliffe was first introduced in -> DAMIEN, A Stark Saga novel .

NOTE: Due to the graphic content and nature of the story line there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from first person perspective (Eliza Tucker), and third person (Quincy Radcliffe) SHATTERED WITH YOU, using present day and memories from the past, follows the second chance romance between former British MI6 agent and security specialist Quincy Radcliffe, and American actress Eliza Tucker. Five years earlier, Eliza Tucker, while on a working ‘vacation’ in England, met and fell in love with Quincy Radcliffe, a man she believed worked as an international financial consultant. Three months later our heroine’s heart would be destroyed when Quincy disappeared without so much as a goodbye. Fast forward to present day, wherein Eliza’s older sister Emma, a private eye and security specialist in her own right is missing, along with a young child, and Eliza is desperate to uncover her whereabouts and why. Pretending to be her own sister, Eliza goes undercover as a high price call-girl to gather information from someone who may or may not know where Emma has gone. Enter Quincy Radcliffe, the man who broke our heroine’s heart but a man looking for a missing child who may be in the custody of Eliza’s sister. What ensues is the tempestuous but rekindling romance between Eliza and Quincy, and the potential fall-out as Quincy is unable to let go of the past, a past that all but destroyed our story line hero.

Quincy Radcliffe had never stopped loving our story line heroine but the life of a MI6 agent meant leaving and disappearing at the drop of a hat. When his assignment went all to h*ll, Quincy was unable to return to the woman who had stolen his heart, a woman who would struggle to move on with her life. Eliza and Quincy’s backstories are heart breaking and dark, heart break that continues into the present day.

The relationship between Eliza and Quincy is a second chance romance between two people destroyed by childhood trauma, and adult pain. Quincy battles to move on from the past as Eliza continues to struggle with Quincy’s actions years before. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense.

We are reintroduced to several characters from the author’s numerous Stark series including Nikki and Damien Stark, Jamie Archer and Ryan Hunter, Dallas Sykes, Orlando ‘Ollie’ McKee, Quincy’s partner Denise aka Denny; Emma’s business partner Lorenzo Tate, and his daughter Marissa. The requisite evil has many faces. Denny and Mason’s story is next in BROKEN WITH YOU.

SHATTERED WITH YOU is a heart breaking and emotional story line. The premise is captivating and engaging: the characters are broken, spirited and animated; the romance is seductive and impassioned. SHATTERED WITH YOU is an energetic and revealing story of second chances and moving forward.

“I think it’s time we get you home.”
“Yes, please.” My pulse pounded in my throat. Hell, it pounded between my thighs. With each moment that passed, I was more and more turned on. I blamed the wine—it’s definitely my aphrodisiac of choice—but those lovely grapes weren’t entirely responsible for this sweet longing. On the contrary, that was all the man.
A man who took my hand and very gingerly helped me down the narrow stairs to the street, where he hailed a cab. “I’ll have to remember you’re a cheap drunk,” he said, his hand sliding down to cup my bottom. I bit my lower lip and leaned into it, then moaned with satisfaction as he nuzzled my neck. “That’s valuable information to store away.”
“If that’s the kind of information you want, I’ll tell you anything. Just don’t stop doing that.”
“Ah, but I have to. Your chariot awaits.”
He stepped around me, leaving me bereft from the sudden lack of contact. He opened the door like a perfect gentleman, then stepped back, as if to close it, rather than sliding in beside me.
“Are you getting in on the other side? I can slide over.”
“You’re going home alone,”he said, and my entire body went cold from the giant bucket of rejection he’d just dumped all over me.
“I—what? Why?” I frowned. “I thought you were buying me breakfast. I thought we were going to—” I closed my mouth because under the circumstances I really wasn’t going there.
“You thought I was going home with you. That I was going to kiss you. That I was going to pull you so close your breasts were crushed against me, and your ass was tight in my hands.”
“I—Quincy…” I shot a mortified look at the driver, who was sitting like stone, his hands glued to the steering wheel as he looked straight ahead.
“Hmm,”Quincy said, then leaned over and handed the driver a ten-pound note. “Sorry to keep you waiting. This should cover the inconvenience.”And then, as if the delay was the only thing odd about this situation, he turned back to me and said, “That would be my very great pleasure, Eliza.”
“But. Wait. What?” I wasn’t sure if it was the wine or the shock, but he was making no sense.
He put a hand on the roof and leaned in.
“You’re dangerous, Eliza. You and me, we’re a lot alike.”
“That’s bad?”
“I told you. It’s dangerous.”
“Oh. I see.” I swallowed. And told myself not to cry. I didn’t know him well enough to cry. Which begged the question of why tears were pooling in my eyes. “Well, it was—I mean, I had a nice day. Thank you. It, ah, it was really nice to meet you.” Bastard.
His mouth twitched, and for a moment I feared I’d said that out loud.
“Is that a brush off?”
“What, no. Wait—I thought you were brushing me off.”
“Do you want me to?” Again with that tiny smile.
“No, and you’re teasing me. What the hell, Quince?”At that, he laughed outright. “Now I know.”
“What?”
“If you and I spend much time together—and I certainly hope that we will—when you call me Quince it’s because I’m in trouble.”
I tilted my head and crossed my arms in a display of irritation. And I was irritated. But I was also hopelessly, giddily relieved. “Fine. You’re in trouble. Don’t scare me like that. You acted like you just wanted to send me on my way.”
“I’ll tell you what I want,” he said, bending lower and speaking softer. But not so soft the driver couldn’t hear.
“I don’t just want to go home with you. I don’t simply want to fuck you. I want to claim you, Eliza. I want you to surrender completely. To give me your trust entirely.”
“I don’t understand. I don’t know what that means.”
“I think you do. I want control.” He brushed my lips with the pad of his free hand. “To take you how I want you. In the back of a cab like this. In your bed. Tied down. On your knees. I’ll give you pleasure, Eliza. More than you can imagine or have experienced.”
“You can’t know that.”
“I can, and I do.” He hesitated a moment, his eyes burning into me. “I can’t promise to save you from whatever darkness is inside you—only you can do that. But there are shadows in your eyes, and I want to be the one to bring back some light.”

It was wrong to stay together … but we couldn’t stay apart.

I’ve been with my share of women, but none touched my heart and fired my senses the way she did. Her smile enticed me. Her caresses teased me. Her body aroused me.

And yet, it couldn’t last. There were too many years between us. A gap we couldn’t breach, and we broke it off. No. I broke it off. And I’ve regretted that decision ever since.

Now she’s in danger, and there’s no one else I trust to protect her. But the more time we spend together, the more I want her back. And all I know now is I have to keep her safe—and despite both of us knowing better, somehow, someway, she will be mine again.

REVIEW:  SEXY LITTLE SINNER is the third instalment (and novella) in J.Kenner’s contemporary, adult BLACKWELL-LYON erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work for Blackwell-Lyon Security. This is twenty-five year old,Kerrie Blackwell and forty year old, Connor Lyon’s story line. SEXY LITTLE SINNER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Stark series.

Told from first person perspective (Connor Lyon ) SEXY LITTLE SINNER follows the second chance, rekindling relationship between twenty-five year old, Kerrie Blackwell and forty year old, Connor Lyon. Kerrie and Connor share a past; a prior relationship of which Connor ended, in most part, due to their age difference and the potential of becoming a burden upon the woman he loves but Blackwell-Lyon’s new client is desperate to uncover the who and how of the theft of proprietary information, a investigation that requires Kerrie and Connor to pretend to be a loving couple. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Kerrie and Connor, and the potential fall-out as Connor continues to deny his feelings for Kerrie, forcing our heroine to make plans for the future, alone.

SEXY LITTLE SINNER is a fast paced story of second chances; a story of betrayal, secrets and lies; of heart break, resolution and intimate surroundings. Kerrie Blackwell continues to reinforce her attraction to Connor by insisting they remain friends (mentioned 42 times), a friendship that pushes all of Connor’s buttons including his need to protect the woman with whom he has fallen in love.

We are reintroduced to business partners Pierce Blackwell, and Cayden Lyon, as well as the introduction of Leonardo Vincent Palermo, a former military buddy of Pierce. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is steamy and intense.

I’m so completely screwed.
The thought rattles around in my head, and I try to shove it away. Smother it. Silence it. Because that really isn’t the kind of thought a guy wants screaming at him while his tongue is in a woman’s mouth. Or when her hot, little body is writhing against him. Or when his cock is harder than he thought possible and all he can think about is sliding his hands up her thighs and under her skirt, then ripping off her panties and letting her ride him until they both see stars.
But, dammit, the thought looms: Screwed. Totally, completely, one-hundred-percent screwed.
Because this woman is off-limits to me. Big time. No excuses. Hands-off territory.
Not that you could tell from a snapshot of the moment, because now I’ve got my hand on her breast, and she’s arching back as I use my thumb and forefinger to tease her nipple while she bites her lower lip and makes that sexy little whimpering sound that used to drive me wild.
Apparently it still does.
Did I mention that I’m screwed?
I break the kiss, knowing we both need to take a few deep breaths, otherwise I’ll end up fucking her right here against the washing machine, the smell of fabric softener mixing with the scent of sex and desire as I claim her fast and hard, just the way I want to. The way I know she wants me to.
“Connor, please.”
My name on her lips is a demand, and so help me I give in, claiming her mouth with my own. Anything to sneak in a few more moments of stolen bliss.
“Oh, hell, yes,” she murmurs as she tightens her fingers in my hair. Then she practically crawls up my body, releasing her grip only long enough to settle her ass on the washer lid so that she can wrap her legs around my waist.
One of my hands cups the back of her neck, but the other is on the smooth skin of her thigh, and as I briefly open my eyes, I see that her skirt has ridden up high enough to reveal a swatch of pink panties, a dark spot revealing just how wet she is.
I groan—could the woman torture me any more?—and force myself not to slide my finger up her thigh even though all I can think about is the way she’d feel naked and beneath me, her pussy hot and slick and tight as I thrust inside her.
I recall the way she bites her lower lip when she’s about to come. The way her body would tighten around me, as if she could pop me like an overripe cherry.
I remember the way it feels to explode inside her, and then pull her close and breathe in the fresh, clean scent of her hair as we both drift off to sleep, her skin warm and soft against mine.
Oh, holy hell…I’m not just screwed. I’m fucked.
Completely and totally fucked.
Because this woman is my best friend’s little sister.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 8, 2019

I am Damien Stark. From the outside, I have a perfect life. A billionaire with a beautiful family. But if you could see inside my head, you’d know I’m as f-ed up as a person can be. Now more than ever.

I’m driven, relentless, and successful, but all of that means nothing without my wife and daughters. They’re my entire world, and I failed them. Now I can barely look at them without drowning in an abyss of self-recrimination.

Only one thing keeps me sane—losing myself in my wife’s silken caresses where I can pour all my pain into the one thing I know I can give her. Pleasure.

But the threats against my family are real, and I won’t let anything happen to them ever again. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe—pay any price, embrace any darkness. They are mine.

I am Damien Stark. Do you want to see inside my head? Careful what you wish for.

REVIEW: DAMIEN is the sixth instalment in J.Kenner’s contemporary, adult STARK SAGA erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s STARK Trilogy focusing on billionaire businessman Damien Stark, and his wife Nikki Fairchild-Stark. DAMIEN can be read as a stand alone but for cohesion and back story I recommend reading the series in order as there is a continuing story line throughout.

NOTE: If you have not read the previous instalments there may be some spoilers in my review

Told from first person perspective (Damien Stark) DAMIEN picks up shortly after the events of book five –LOST WITH ME- wherein Damien’s family life spirals out of his control attacking his hard fought sense of peace and happily ever after. Continuing threats against his children and his wife find our hero pulling in his security team, friends, and the people he can trust to ensure his family’s safety, once and for all. But all does not go according to plan when Nikki’s life, once again, hangs in the balance because of sins from the past.

DAMIEN is an emotional, heart breaking and erotic story of life, love, friendship and family: a story of betrayal, vengeance, obsession and passion: of past sins, and the fall-out of rejection and lust. The premise is engaging and revealing; the characters are familiar, energetic and charismatic; the $ex scenes are provocative and intense but I continue to struggle with the author’s use of a certain four-letter word I believe has no place in any romance story line. DAMIEN is another fantastic and intriguing addition to Damien and Nikki’s continuing journey.

He started to lash out. To pound his fist against the door frame. But he pulled back, not wanting to wake Nikki or the two little angels curled up next to her in their bed. His wife. His precious little girls.
His family.
As much as he loved Nikki, he hadn’t truly understood how full his heart could be until he’d held Lara in his arms for the first time. And though he hadn’t expected it was possible, his heart had expanded even more when he watched Anne’s birth two years ago and saw her draw that first breath.
Every day, his daughters looked up at him with wide, guileless eyes. And every day, he felt that punch in the gut. A fear that he couldn’t live up to the trust he saw there. That somehow, someway, he would fail them. Not in the way his own father had failed him. But in some other, fundamental way.
And that’s exactly what happened.
He thought of Rory, that fucker who’d taken his child. Of Nikki, broken and huddled in the closet with a blade, blood streaming down her fair skin, cutting for the first time in years. The first time since he’d demanded that she come to him—to him—when she needed the blade.
So many times, she’d done exactly that. Gone to him when the burden of the world had been too much to bear. When she needed the pain to find her way back. And he’d always been there for her, his need as potent as hers. Because he had to be the one to take her there. To slide down with her into that sweet place where sensual pleasure crossed over into pain. Where need and desire meshed, merging into euphoria. Where they could both cling to that one small measure of control in a world that was spinning off its axis.
How many times had they saved each other? Their needs meshing as perfectly as their desire?
How many times had he held her close as they fought their demons together? And yet this time—when the worst parts of hell had swallowed them whole—she hadn’t come to him. Instead, she’d put a razor-sharp length of stainless steel against her own flesh, and she’d drawn her own blood for the first time in years.
All because he’d failed her. Because it was his mistakes that spawned the demons.
Because for the first time in their relationship she hadn’t trusted him to save her. And why should she, when he’d already failed so spectacularly?
He thought of that. Of the scars on her legs. Of the fresh wound that mocked him still.
He thought—and his stomach twisted with pain and self-loathing.
Mostly, he thought of Anne. His precious girl, who’d been alone and scared for days.
They’d gotten Anne back. They’d talked about Damien’s choices. The risks he’d taken to find their daughter and her kidnapper. They’d worked it out, and they were back on keel. And he knew in his gut that Nikki was strong enough to survive the whole ordeal.
But that didn’t change the simple, basic truth.
He’d failed.
Roughly, he massaged his palms over his face, then looked again at his girls, curled up together, safe and asleep.
Safe.
For now, at least.
But for the first time in a long time, Damien felt as if the shadows that had plagued his past had returned to haunt him, bringing harsh recriminations and fresh dangers.
He squared his shoulders, steeling himself. He was strong. More than that, he had resources. He had means. And he damn well had the determination to keep those encroaching horrors at bay.
Most of all, he had a life—a family—worth fighting for.
He was fucking Damien Stark.
He’d failed once.
He wouldn’t fail again.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 17, 2018

Bedroom games are fine … but I need a woman who won’t play with my heart.

After years in the military, I’ve faced down a lot of things, and there’s not much I shy away from. Except relationships. Because when you catch your wife in bed with another man, that tends to sour even the most hardened man against women.

When I was hired to keep surveillance on a woman with a checkered past, I went into the job anticipating the worst. But what I found was a woman who turned my head. Who made my blood heat and my body burn. A woman who made me feel alive again.

A woman who was nothing like what I expected, but everything I wanted. A woman who, it turned out, needed my protection. And wanted my touch.

And as the world fell out from under us, and everything I thought I knew shifted, there was only one reality I could hold onto—that the more I got to know her, the more I wanted her.

But if I’m going to make her mine, I’ll have to not only keep her safe, I’ll have to prove to her that I’ve conquered my own fears and doubts. That I’m done looking into the past, and that all I want is a future—with her.

REVIEW: PRETTY LITTLE PLAYER is the second instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult BLACKWELL-LYON erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work for Blackwell-Lyon Security. This is security specialist and retired US military veteran Cayden Lyon , and fashion model Gracie Harmon. PRETTY LITTLE LIAR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. We were first introduced to Cayden in Lovely Little Liar (aka Bitch Slap). Once again, there is a slight cross-over with the author’s Stark Series, and Man of the Month series.

Told from first person perspective (Cayden) PRETTY LITTLE PLAYER follows Cayden Lyon as he is hired by attorney Thomas Peterman to investigate and follow Gracie Harmon, a women he claims to be his unfaithful fiancée. Gracie is a plus-size fashion model, and is all too aware of a potential ‘stalker’ following her every move but meeting Cayden Lyon, our heroine throws caution to the wind until she discovers that Cayden is not the man he claims to be. As Cayden and Gracie begin to develop a relationship, our hero is torn between head and heart believing Gracie is engaged to another man. What ensues is the building relationship between Cayden and Gracie, and the potential fall-out as Gracie is targeted by an unknown assailant.

The relationship between Cayden and Gracie is one of immediate attraction but Gracie is Cayden’s surveillance target, and our hero believes Gracie is an unfaithful woman. Unable to stay away Cayden will come face to face with the woman that calls to his heart but a woman who reminds him of a darkened past. The $ex scenes are intimate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text

We are reintroduced to Cayden’s business partners: Pierce Blackwell and his girlfriend Jezebel (Lovely Little Liar), Pierce’s sister Kerrie, and Cayden’s identical twin Connor Lyon. Connor’s story line is next in Sexy Little Sinner.

PRETTY LITTLE PLAYER is a story of secrets and lies; betrayal and heart break. The premise is captivating; the romance is passionate; the characters are flirty, sassy and spirited. A quick read, PRETTY LITTLE PLAYER is an animated, seductive and inviting tale, great for a late night quickie before going to bed.

LOVELY LITTLE LIAR
Blackwell – Lyon #1
by J. Kenner
Re-release Date: November 12, 2018
Genre: adult, contemporary, erotic, romance

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Chapters Indigo /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Re-release Date November 2018

The first time I met her I wanted to slap her.

The second time, I knew I had to have her.

As for the third time, a gentleman doesn’t tell.

So I guess it’s a good thing I’m no gentleman … right?

Let’s get this out of the way, right off the bat: I love women.
I love the way they look. The way they smell. The way they feel. Especially the way they feel. And I’ve pretty much made it my mission to give each and every woman who shares my bed the ride of her life.

Then I met her. Bitchy as hell and completely uninterested in me. And damned if I didn’t want her. Crave her. I told myself I only wanted to tame her. That it was all about the challenge.

I never expected to break through that ice queen exterior and find the softness underneath. Never expected how wild she’d be between the sheets or the way she’d cry my name with such sincere intensity when I totally rocked her world.

Most of all, I never expected to fall for her.

But I did.

And the question is, now that I know I want her, how the hell do I go about keeping her?

REVIEW: LOVELY LITTLE LIAR is the first instalment and novella in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult, Blackwell-Lyon erotic romance series. This is security specialist Pierce Blackwell, and PA Jezebel Stuart’s story line. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s best selling Stark, and Man of the Month series.

NOTE: LOVELY LITLE LIAR was first published as Bitch Slap in June 2017. Lovely Little Liar contains expanded content not found in the original release.

Told from first person point of view (Pierce Blackwell) LOVELY LITTLE LIAR follows the building relationship between security specialist Pierce Blackwell, and Jezebel Stuart. Thinking he was meeting his one-night stand, Pierce Blackwell, comes face to face with a woman who believes he is someone else. Enter Jezebel Stuart, the sister and manager of up and coming young but vilified actress Delilah Stuart, and the woman with whom Pierce will fall in love.

We are introduced to Jezebel’s sister, Delilah Stuart; Pierce’s sister Kerrie Blackwell, as well as Pierce’s business partners Cayden and Connor. There may be something developing between Kerrie and Connor. Cayden and Connor’s stories are next in Pretty Little Player, and Sexy Little Sinner.

BITCH SLAP is a predictable and familiar story line; an erotic, quick building romance between two people who have been hurt by previous relationships. Pierce doesn’t do relationships or love, and the introductory chapters reveal exactly what and who Pierce is looking for. Jezebel Stuart is a woman betrayed by a former lover but a woman who is determined to protect her younger sister from the rabid fans who are currently vilifying the up and coming star. The plotline is a little more fleshed out than the original release. The premise is entertaining; the romance is passionate; the characters are colorful and energetic.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 23, 2018

His touch takes my breath away. Our passion feeds my soul…

My love for Damien fills me, and the intensity of our bond brings me to my knees. There is no burden I wouldn’t bear for him, no decadent punishment to which I won’t submit.

The dark days seemingly behind us, we have carved a life out of adversity, chiseling away pain to reveal strength and beauty. Now, all I want is to laugh with our children in the sunlight, then surrender myself to Damien’s embrace in the dark.

But lingering secrets and hidden menace threaten our family. Now, Damien and I must forge a new strength from our shared passion and hope the fire between us will burn away the darkness and protect everything we hold most dear.

This sexy, emotionally charged romance continues the story of Damien Stark, the powerful billionaire who’s never had to take “no” for an answer, and his beloved wife Nikki Fairchild Stark.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: LOST WITH ME is the fifth instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult STARK SAGA erotic, romance series focusing on Damien Stark, and his wife Nikki Fairchild-Stark. LOST WITH ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion. Several characters from the Stark Series spin-offs cross over into the current story line.

Told from first person point of view (Nikki) LOST WITH ME continues to focus on billionaire businessman Damien Stark, and his wife, app developer Nikki Fairchild-Stark.

All the money in the world doesn’t buy the safety and security Damien hopes to afford his young family. Now the father of two daughters, ages four and two, Damien’s priority is the protection of his wife and children but all does not go according to plans as Nikki becomes the target of jealousy, and their children’s safety is threatened in the process. Sins from the past continue to haunt our leading couple, intimidation and potential disaster push Nikki to revert to damaging ways. Everyone is suspect; familiar faces and names are called into question; friendships are jeopardized in the process.

The relationship between Nikki and Damien is highly sexual including our couple’s need to reclaim what was in the face of potential loss and disaster. I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word I find inappropriate in any romance story line-a word used only once-more for shock value than anything else.

The numerous secondary and supporting characters are familiar, colourful and entertaining. Nikki’s best friend Jamie is a force to be reckoned; new faces come into question when the Stark’s face a potential disaster and the potential loss of someone close.

LOST WITH ME is a heartbreaking and emotional story line. The characters are energetic; the romance is passionate and intense; the premise is spirited and lively. LOST WITH ME is a revealing story line as Damien and Nikki face the challenges that have become their life.

His name dies on my lips, but I hear it all the same in my head. Damien. My voice breathy. Full of need.
He eases me back so that my body is flush against his, and I close my eyes, losing myself in the way his touch makes me feel even while fighting the urge to step away. To tell him to stop. That we’re in public, and we can’t do this.
But I don’t. I stay, and as I close my eyes in acceptance of my own desires, I hear his low, soft moan of satisfaction and feel the swell of his erection against my lower back, his arousal growing with my acquiescence.
Mine, too.
Because while I may not want to be the kind of woman who gets turned on by her lover’s touch in a public gallery, I can’t deny the heat building between my thighs any more than I can deny the basic truth that where Damien is concerned, there are no limits. Not because I have none, but because he knows how to take me right to the edge. To make me breathless and needy and desperate. But never to push too far.
I’d changed before meeting Jamie for lunch, and now I’m wearing a knit tank that hugs my body and a wrap style skirt that fastens with a single button at my hip. His hands are pressed against the curve of my waist, the heat of contact burning through the black knit of my top. I make a small move as if to turn around, but he tightens his grip, his utterance of noso soft that I may have only imagined it.
But I know I’m not imagining the motion of his hands as he slowly eases them up my body, making my heart beat faster with each millimeter of progress higher and higher. My breath is shallow, and I whisper his name, “Damien,” not certain if I’m acknowledging the moment, pleading with him to stop, or begging him to continue.
His hands curve under my breasts, his palms lifting them as he presses his thumbs down until my nipples are pinched tight between his thumbs and forefingers. He increases the pressure, and I suck in air, squeezing my legs together, my clit throbbing as I bite my lower lip and fight the urge to surrender to the heat that is building inside me.
“You’re wondering if it’s pleasure she’s feeling,” he says, and my mind has traveled so far from these walls that it takes me a moment to realize that he’s referring to the woman in Blaine’s painting. “Pleasure or embarrassment,” he adds as his right hand eases lower, his fingers finding the flap of material where the ends of the skirt overlap.
He slips his hand in, his palm sliding over the brushed cotton, his fingers slowly tugging the interior layer toward him. It bunches within his hand, and I bite back a gasp when his fingertips graze the bare skin of my thigh. “Was she turned on by the knowledge that so many would see her portrait?”
His fingers slowly ease higher, closer and closer to my bare sex. I bite my lower lip and close my eyes, my entire body aching with need, craving his touch. I can imagine his hand cupping my sex, his fingers sliding inside as his lips brush my ear while he whispers to me, his sensual words making my imagination soar as my body quivers and tightens and explodes around him, and taste blood from biting down so hard to keep from crying out.
I imagine all of that. Craving it. Desperate for it.
And at the same time terrified of it.
“Not here,” I murmur, resting my hand over my skirt. Over his hand. “Not now.”
His fingers still, but he inches closer, his heat burning into my body, the beat of his heart reverberating through me.
“I got your note. And your present.” His whisper rumbles through me, his words making me even more aware that I’m bare beneath this skirt. “I missed you by just ten minutes.”
“How did you find me?”
“I have my ways. And I’m willing to use all my resources to get what I want.”
There’s a tease in his voice, and I smile in realization and amusement. Because it didn’t actually take too many resources. Just the app that’s installed on both our phones as well as our cars—and Bree’s, of course, in case we need to find her and the kids.
He would have checked his phone, seen that I’d parked in Beverly Hills, and remembered that I was going to check on the girls’ cakes today. Presumably he was following my route and saw me step in here.
“Do you really think I need a tracking device to find you?” he counters, after I tell him all that. “Don’t you know that you’re always in my heart, and how can I lose track of that?”
I smile and sigh happily, his words delighting me. And, who knows. Maybe it’s true. My husband is a remarkable man.
“I wanted to see you.” There’s a tone of finality in his voice. As if the details simply don’t matter. As if his will alone is enough to find me.
Maybe it is.
“To touch you.” The fingers of his hand that still cup my breast tighten on my nipple, sending a new shock of desire running down to my core.
“I wanted to know if you’re still bare, or if you’ve put on a fresh pair of panties.” His hand stays perfectly still, but, damn me, I relax the pressure of my own hand that’s been keeping his in check.
“We can’t.” It’s a public gallery. Anyone could come in. But even as I think that, my eyes roam the room. The section we’re in has no windows. And the gallery is empty and echoey, with a bell over the door. We’re alone, except for Emily. And if she came this way her heels will undoubtedly click on the floor, giving us plenty of warning.
The thought—the fantasy—makes my body tighten. “We can’t,” I repeat, as much to underscore the point as to remind myself of that very basic truth.
“No?” His mouth brushes my ear, his breath disturbing my hair and sending shivers down my spine. “What if I told you that Emily was busy at her computer. That she’s locked the door for lunch. That I’m certain we won’t be seen.”
I swallow and say nothing, afraid that if I speak, my desire will betray my common sense.
“She won’t want to disturb us. Not when we might be contemplating a purchase. Destroy the moment, and she could lose a sale. She knows that. Knows that a client needs to get lost in the art. In the moment.”
His thumb has been making small circles on my breast, and my heart is beating so hard now that I’m surprised Emily can’t hear its echo on the far side of the gallery. On my legs, his fingers move subtly. Not rising, but neither are they still. Instead, his fingertips brush my bare flesh in sensual movements designed to entice and tease.
“What do you want, Nikki?” His words are as tender against my flesh as his fingers. “Do you want me to move higher, millimeter by millimeter, up your wet thighs as you hold your breath in anticipation? Would you cry out if I stroked your clit, unable to hold back the explosion?
“Or maybe I shouldn’t stroke you there at all. Maybe I should slide my fingers deep inside you. Feel how slick you are, the way your body will clench around me, drawing me in as I use my thumb to tease around your clit. Never quite touching, but drawing you up and up, until you can’t take it anymore.”
I can’t take it right now, and I’m certain he knows it. I want to tell him to stop—except I don’t want him to stop.
And so all I do is whisper his name. A plea. A prayer.
“Damien.”
“That’s right, baby.” I hear heat in his low, melodic voice, a passion now equal to my own. “Would you scream my name when you explode? Or would you be so quiet as you tremble in my arms, that I’d be the only one who knows the force of your orgasm rocking through you?
I’m trembling now, so close to the explosion he’s describing that my skin seems to sizzle. The thin whisper of air from the ducts above does nothing to cool my heated flesh. I want the release, crave it, and yet I can’t quite let myself go. Not here. Not like this.
Damien knows that, of course. His real purpose isn’t to make me come—it’s to take me to the precipice. Pleasure, yes, but underscored by frustration. By need. And, ultimately by anticipation.

Each day with Damien is a miracle, each moment with our children a gift. And yet I cannot escape the growing sense that a storm is gathering, threatening to pull me away, to rip us apart. To drag me down, once again, into a darkness to which I swore never to return.

I have to fight it—I know that. And I am waging the battle with of all my heart. But it is Damien who is my strength, and we both know that the only way to push away the darkness is for him to fold me in his arms and claim me completely. After we tuck Lara back into bed, Damien and I walk in silence to our bedroom. As soon as I close the door behind us, I expect him to speak. But he says nothing. Just sits in the armchair by the window and loosens his tie.
I go to him, then kneel at his feet, my hands on his thighs. “Damien,” I whisper. “Please.”
The corner of his mouth curves up. “Anything, baby. You know that.”
But I don’t know it. Not really. Because I’ve asked him to tell me what’s wrong, and he’s remained silent. But that’s what I need. That’s what will make me whole—getting into his head. Understanding him.
Most of all, helping him.
“Damien,” I whisper as I look into those eyes that have seen all the way into my soul. “Please. Please tell me what’s wrong.”
An infinity passes between us in the space of a breath, then a small, sad smile touches his lips. “Everything is fine, Nikki. I promise.”
Anger boils in me, as hot as wildfire and at least as destructive. I want to scream at him that I know something is off. I want to yell that I can practically smell the secrets. I want to beg him to tell me. Because doesn’t he understand how much his silence hurts?
I say none of that, though. Instead, I press down on his thighs as I lever myself back up.
“Nikki—”
“I need to check on Anne.” My voice is sharp, my words nothing more than an excuse to leave. Because if I stay, I’m going to sink to the ground and beg. But I don’t want to beg. I want him to tell me. To keep his promise that there would be no more secrets between us.
