REVIEW: ALCEU is the first instalment and novella in Jade Marshall’s contemporary, adult CAMMAERERI FAMILY dark, erotic, Mafia series. This is head of the Cammareri Family Alceu Cammareri, and Mafia princess Guilia Rossi’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Alceu and Guilia) ALCEU focuses on the marriage of convenience between head of the Cammareri Family Alceu Cammareri, and Mafia princess Guilia Rossi. Guilia Rossi has been ‘promised’ to Salvador Berlusconi, a man of her father’s choosing. An ‘offer’ from south coast Mafia don Alceu Cammareri gives Guilia the option of a marriage of convenience, meant to save Guilia from a man who intends to do her harm, and allow Alceu to take back control from a power hungry rival. Married without the knowledge of her family, Guilia is quickly falling for a man she knows nothing about but a man who promises her everything and more. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Guilia and Alceu, and the potential fall-out as Salvador is determined to reclaim Guilia as his own.

The relationship between Guilia and Alceu is one of immediate attraction; a relationship and marriage of convenience in which Alceu promises to protect Guilia and Guilia promises to remain strong. Raised in the Mafia lifestyle, to be the perfect Mafia wife, Guilia becomes both partner and ally to the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Alceu’s brothers: Severu, Mancuso, and Stefano, as well as Guilia’s parents, her eighteen year old sister Andrea, and Salvador Berlusconi. There is a story developing between Andrea and Stefano.

ALCEU is a fast paced, quick read; a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and love. The premise is captivating; the romance is insta-lust to love; the characters are powerful and energetic.

REVIEW: SEVERU is the second instalment and novella in Jade Marshall’s contemporary adult CAMMARERI FAMILY erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Severu Cammareri, and police officer Lira Blake’s story line. SEVERU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Severu and Lira) SEVERU advances the series approximately two years, and follows in the wake of an attack against our story line heroine. Lira Blake is a police officer working under cover at the Cammareri Family owned nightclub and brothel but Lira never expected to find herself the victim of an assault, an assault in which Severu will kill the man responsible for the attack. Living and working at the Cammareri compound as Guilia and Alceu’s nanny, Lira finds herself falling for the man who could take her life, a life she will forfeit when the truth is revealed. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Lira and Severu, and the potential fall-out when Severu discovers the truth, and Lira is pushed out of his life.

The relationship between Severu and Lira begins as forced proximity in the aftermath of an attack against our story line heroine. Lira is working undercover but has yet to find anything of importance or worth reporting to her precinct superiors. In an effort to protect Lira, Severu more or less holds Lira prisoner, until he discovers that Lira is not who she presents herself to be. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include Alceu and Guilia (Alceu), Mancuso and Stefano, as well as Guilia’s sister Andrea.

SEVERU is another quick read; a fast paced novella focusing on family and relationships, secrets and lies, betrayals and loss. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is hot and heavy; the characters are energetic but lost.

Marc and Sapphire know immediately that each is the other’s mate but Sapphire struggles with the hurtful words and broken heart so long ago. The lone $ex scene is passionate and intense.

We are reintroduced to several of the previous story line couples, she-wolf shifter Keelan, as well as Sapphire’s brother Ezra.

UNWANTED MATE is a quick read; a story of regret and forgiveness, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is engaging- the conflict resolution is hurried-I was hoping for a little more angst and delay but such is the nature of a novella length story ; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic and lost. UNWANTED MATE ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger-you have been warned.

This is forty year old, single father Bodhi ‘Mad Dog’ Black, and twenty year old, Kaiya Walsh’s story line. THE DOG can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order. Some of the events of THE DOG cross over with and run parallel to some of the events in book two THE WOLF.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Bohdi and Kaiya) THE DOG follows the building relationship between forty year old, single father Bodhi ‘Mad Dog’ Black, and twenty year old, Kaiya Walsh. One year earlier Bodhi and the Gypsy B*stards rescued Storm (The Pope) and Kaiya Walsh from the Mongrels MC but in the ensuing months Bodhi kept his distance from the woman that called to his heart. Fast forward one year, Kaiya struggles with Mad Dog’s ongoing rejection, and in this, takes some time for herself, returning to the Gypsy B*stards a stronger version of the woman she left behind, a woman who knows what she wants. Bodhi ‘Mad Dog’ Black has bided his time with Kaiya Walsh, having witnessed the abuse, first hand, of our story line heroine. Believing Kaiya isn’t ready for a permanent relationship, Mad Dog continues to push Kaiya away but our heroine finds herself looking after Bodhi’s children, children she will one day come to call her own. When another woman is attacked, the MC goes on the hunt for the people responsible but Mad Dog never expected that Kaiya would become fodder in a game of revenge. The relationship between Mad Dog and Kaiya is one of immediate attraction but Mad Dog refuses to cross an invisible knowing Kaiya needs time to heal. Kaija has all but thrown herself at our storyline hero but believes Mad Dog’s rejections are a sign that she is broken beyond repair. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate, and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters including elementary school vice prinicpal James Parsons; Bodhi’s ex-wife Darla; his children Tatum, Gunner and Kash; MC members MC president Pope O’Brien and his ole lady Storm Lin , club enforcer Wolf and his old lady Hadley; Sparrow, Luna and their son Gage, Beast, Justice,Viking; tattoo artist Laine, and his sister, woman’s counselor Irene.

THE DOG is a story of betrayal and revenge, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is edgy; the romance is provocative; the characters are dynamic and inspiring.
