••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: DANCE OF DECEPTION is the first instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult THE DARKEST DANCE dark, erotic, organized crime series. This is the new Don Carmine Barone, and ballet dancer Lyra Ostrova’s story line. There is a slight cross-over with the characters from Corrupted Hearts series, and Dark Hearts Series.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Carmine and Lyra) DANCE OF DECEPTION follows the forced marriage between Don Carmine Barone and ballet dancer Lyra Ostrova. Lyra Ostrova lives with her alcoholic mother Vera, and since the death of her father, Lyra and her mother have struggled to make ends meet. When a member of an organized crime family confronts our heroine with a threat of payment due, Lyra finds herself dancing blind for a group of men she knows nothing about but Lyra will witness a crime, and her life will no longer be her own, as she must choose between flight or fight. Married to the new Don, Carmine Barone, or face death while on the run, Lyra must come to terms with the man who will control her life.. As Lyra struggles with her new direction, the past will return, and our heroine, is once again, facing down a man who already destroyed her life and the lives of so many others.

The world building focuses on murder and betrayal as Lyra struggles to overcome the demons from her past, demons that refuse to let go. Don Carmine Barone is determined to protect the woman with whom he will fall in love but Carmine will have to take down the world in which Lyra once lived.

The relationship between Lyra and Carmine is a forced marriage, predicated on witnessing a crime. Lyra is a university student, working towards a degree in psychiatry but Lyra will quickly discover the man to whom she is married is a monster, a psychopath, and the head of the Barone Crime family. Carmine Barone doesn’t do relationships, and never planned to get married, but his father’s ill health pushed Carmine to the top of the line, and in doing so, a wife is needed to complete the look. As Carmine quickly takes control of his wife, Lyra faces down more than one monster in an effort to survive. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense, and not without some issues of questionable consent.

We are introduced to the members of a group known as The Black Court, a group of self-proclaimed vigilantes who decide the rules- who lives and who dies: The Hound, The Raven, The Wolf, The Bull, The Stag: Lyra’s fellow ballet dancers including Carmine’s sister Bianca Barone Drakos (
Venomous Gods #4) , Dove Marchetti, Brooklyn, Vaughn, Milena and Madame Kuzmina, as well as Lyra’s mother Vera, and several members of Bratva and Italian crime families including Bratva Kingpin Kir Nikolayev. The requisite evil has many faces.

DANCE OF DECEPTION is a story of betrayal and vengeance, murder and madness, secrets and lies, power and control, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, gritty, dramatic and raw; the romance is limited; the characters are determined, complex and broken.

He’s a dark storm wrapped in tattoos and muscle.
A mafia prince with a killer’s smile and a predator’s gaze.
Takeshi Mori doesn’t ask for anything. He takes it.
Including me.
Our marriage is a weapon forged in blood, meant to stop a war.
But there’s nothing peaceful about my new husband.
He’s ruthless chaos incarnate—a Machiavellian psychopath with a thirst for violence.
He craves control, but I was born to defy.
His darkness terrifies me even as it calls to mine.
His touch consumes me even as it burns me alive.
We aren’t a happy ever after. We’re a collision-course disaster.

REVIEW: EMPEROR OF HAVOC is the fourth instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult MEMENTO MORI dark, erotic, crime world romance set in the author’s Venomous Gods world. This is Mafia prince Takeshi Mori, and Yakuza princess Katarina Ishida’s story line. EMPEROR OF HAVOC can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from three first person perspectives including Takeshi and Katarina EMPEROR OF HAVOC focuses on the arranged marriage between our story line couple. Katarina Ishida has been promised to the son of the Bratva leader but refuses to accept his hand in marriage. Takeshi Mori is determined to destroy the Ishida family, and in an effort to get close, demands Katarina as his Yakuza bride but all is not as it appears to be, and Katarina is about to become a pawn in a much large war including a war with mental instability.

The world building follows several paths including the ‘silence’ that is our story line heroine. Years before, Katarina Ishida suffered greatly at the hands of her father’s enemies, and in this, Katarina has struggled to move beyond that which is out of her control. As her father battles for his own life, Katarina must come to terms with her marriage to a man who sees our heroine as nothing more than a pathway to revenge. Saying that, the anger and vengeance directed at the female characters is alarming and disturbing-the men with whom they fall in love are violent and threatening.

The relationship between Katarina and Takeshi is antagonistic and hostile. Katarina wants nothing to do with our story line hero but Takeshi has plans for his new bride, plans that include taking down her family, starting with the woman with whom he will fall in love. The $ex scenes are aggressive, and not without some scenes of questionable consent.

There is a large ensemble cast of powerful, angry and determined secondary and supporting characters including Takeshi’s sister Hana (EMPEROR OF LUST 3); Katarina’s father Kolya Ishida, and her best friend Nina Osopov. The requisite evil has many faces including Bratva, and Yakuza members.

EMPEROR OF HAVOC is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, madness and obsession, family and love. The premise is dark, dramatic and disquieting; the romance is limited as the relationship is predicated upon vengeance; the characters are broken, desperate and determined.

REVIEW:EMPEROR OF LUST is the third instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult MEMENTO MORI dark, erotic, crime world romance series set in the author’s Venomous Gods world. This is heir to the Bratva throne Damian Nikolayev, and corporate CEO and Yakuza daughter Hana Mori’s story line. EMPEROR OF LUST can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from three first person perspectives (Damian, Hana, Takeshi) EMPEROR OF LUST follows the building but acrimonious relationship between our story line couple. IN an effort to keep peace between the Bratva and the Yakuza in Tokyo, Hana is forced into a relationship with Bratva heir Damian Nikolayev, a man who knows more about Hana than anyone else. Hana has secrets, dark secrets that are controlling her life, and when Damian discovers Hana’s extracurricular activities, our hero blackmail’s Hana into being his wife but all is not well in the criminal underworld, and our couple will be targeted for sins of the past.

Like the previous instalment, the world building is multi-layered, complex, and intricate with many of the characters crossing over between timelines and stories. Hana’s secrets, once revealed, play a pivotal role in the encroaching war between the Yakuza and the Bratva in Japan.

The relationship between Hana and Damian begins tempestuously when Damian uncovers Hana’s secrets, secrets layered such that, the lives of the people she loves are threatened because of the sins of the past. Damian doesn’t want a relationship but life is about to become much more complicated when he loses his heart to the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative with some scenes of Japanese shibari rope play. Once again, as the series progresses, the heroes’ aggression and anger towards the heroines, are not without some controversy and dubious consent and behavior.

There is another large ensemble cast of powerful and questionable secondary and supporting characters including the return of IT hacker Freya Holm (Emperor of Rage) ; Annika and Yakuza heir Kenzo (Emperor of Wrath), and his head of security Kai; their father-figure and head of the Nikolayev Bratva Kir Nikolayev, and his second in command Isaak; and Hana’s brother Takeshi. Not everyone can be trusted, the need for power is dark and controversial. The requisite evil has many faces.

EMPEROR OF LUST is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is melodramatic, tense and startling; the romance is challenging and seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and purposeful.

And he knows what I did.

Now he won’t stop, no matter how fast or how far I run.
They say fairytales are just pretend.
But monsters?
Those are real.

REVIEW: EMPEROR OF RAGE is the second instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult MEMENTO MORI dark, erotic, Mafia romance series set in the author’s Venomous Gods world. This is Mal Ulstad, and twenty-six year old IT hacker Freya Holm’s story line. EMPEROR OF RAGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for cohesion. Most of the events of Emperor of Rage cross over with, and run parallel to the events of book one Emperor of Wrath.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including ‘consensual non-consent’, and graphic violence, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Freya and Mal) EMPEROR OF RAGE focuses on the enemies to lovers relationship between Mal Ulstad, and twenty-six year old IT hacker Freya Holm. Freya Holm was looking for some dark web information for Kir Nikolayev but stumbling into what she thought was a vacant building was about to change her life forever. Having witnessed the murder of several men, Freya finds herself at the mercy of the killer, a man with connections to the darkest of the dark. Enter Mal Ulstad who is about to control every aspect of our heroine’s life but the past refuses to go quietly and Mal will discover a connection between Freya, her boss and mentor Kir, and the life he once knew. As Mal holds the power in his relationship with Freya, someone else is taking aim at our story line couple.

The world building is multi-layered and intricate as the events of the previous story line become a significant part of the current timeline. Mal Ulstad is desperate to uncover the truth about our story line heroine, a truth that will set Mal on a journey of revenge and pain.

The relationship between Mal and Freya begins as enemies when Freya witnesses Mal killing several men with ties to the Russian Bratva, killings Mal invokes in vengeance for sins of the past. Controlling Freya, and discovering the truth, sets a plan into motion that will threaten the tentative peace between our story line couple, pushing Freya out of his life and into the world that is attempting to destroy our story line hero. The $ex scenes are aggressive, forceful and not without some scenes of questionable consent. As the series progresses, the heroes’ aggression and anger towards the heroine, is not without some controversy and dubious behavior.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of dynamic, interesting and powerful secondary and supporting characters including Freya’s friends Damian Nikilayev, Annika and Kenzo (Emperor of Wrath); their father-figure and head of the Nikolayev Bratva Kir Nikolayev; Kenzo’s siblings Takeshi and Hana.

EMPEROR OF RAGE is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, power and control, murder and retribution, family and relationships, acceptance and love. Like the first instalment, the character driven premise is dark, dramatic and raw; the romance is provocative but struggles with the early control and behavior of a man bent on revenge; the characters are broken, embattled and charismatic.

What ensues is the building but tempestuous relationship between Annika and Kenzo, and the potential fall-out as Annika is targeted by a man from her past.

The world building is complex as there is interplay, and connections between the Irish Mob, Italian Mafia, Russian Bratva, Japanese Yakuza, and Albanian Mob. Every crime lord wants control, working together becomes difficult when past betrayal gives rise to issues of trust and vengeance.

The relationship between Annika and Kenzo is an enemies to frenemies to lovers; an arranged marriage of sorts between two people whose previous interactions left Kenzo feeling betrayed and duped.Kenzo is the heir to the Japanese Yakuza, and Annika finds herself caught between worlds where the people in control, are dangerous and dark. ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 11, 2024

I played games with the wrong stranger.
Tall, powerful, and lethally gorgeous, Drazen Krylov is the ruthless boogeyman the Bratva world fears.
He’s also the masked man from the app whom I unknowingly shared my darkest, most depraved urges with.
Now the fantasy has become a nightmare.
Drazen says I did terrible, unforgivable things.
He says I owe a debt, and I’ll pay the price by pretending to be his dead wife.
I look just like her.
The thing is, I might be her…
My past is an amnesia haze of blank memories.
My future is in his hands.
My name is Taylor Crown.
At least, so I’ve been told.
And I may have married a monster.
Now, I need to remember why.

•••••

REVIEW: MONSTROUS URGES is the fifth instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult VENOMOUS GODS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is thirty-six year old, billionaire crime lord Drazen Krylov, and thirty-three year old attorney Taylor Crown’s story line. MONSTROUS URGES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE multiple triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Taylor and Drazen) using present day and memories from the past, MONSTROUS URGES follows attorney Taylor Crown as she ventures onto the dark side, discovering the kink that she never knew she wanted, and a man who is about to control her life. Meeting a stranger on an app for those with dark proclivities, Taylor will come face to face with both her nightmares and fantasies, wrapped up in a man she knows nothing about. Taylor Crown is an enigma; a thirty-three year old woman who has no memory about the first eighteen years of her life, and in this, our heroine is about to meet a man who claims she owes him her life. Enter billionaire businessman Drazen Krylov, the man who is about to tear apart our story line heroine. Draven is demanding retribution and payment for sins of the past, sins of which Taylor knows nothing about. What ensues is the acrimonious and tempestuous relationship between Taylor and Drazen, and the fall-out as years of built up anger and vengeance are aimed at our story line heroine.

The world building focuses on Drazen’s overwhelming need to exact revenge against our story line heroine, and in doing so, takes control of every aspect of her life but Taylor is oblivious as to the who, how or why, unaware that Drazen has plans to destroy her life.

The relationship between Drazen and Taylor is unconventional; dangerous and dark; a forced relationship in the face of an abduction. Taylor will become a prisoner of the man with whom she will fall in love as Drazen struggles to understand what has happened and why. Drazen is a man with questionable sexual appetites, and Taylor is ripe for his games of cat and mouse. The $ex scenes are provocative and dark, with numerous scenes of disturbing CNC (consent/non-consent) and aggression.

We are reintroduced to attorney Gabriel Black, and attorney Fumi Yamaguchi (Poisonous Kiss); Eloise and Alistair Black (Devious Vows); Fumi’s brother Kenzo, and Drazen’s right hand man Milos. There are several powerful and dangerous Bratva cameos-the requisite evil has many faces.

MONSTROUS URGES is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance; hatred and obsession; secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, dramatic and intense; the characters are desperate, charismatic, and twisted; the romance is limited -I did not feel any palpable sexual attraction, there was only a need to hurt and be hurt.

Heed my WARNING-the triggers are numerous, brutal, haunting- a cautionary suggestion to be prepared.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 23, 2024

I taunted a monster. Now I’m caught in his claws.

He was only supposed to be a faceless fantasy.

A masked man from the app to enact my darkest, most depraved impulses with. But I played games with the wrong stranger, and caught the attention of a psychopath.

Because Kratos Drakos isn’t just Greek Mafia royalty. He’s not just lethally powerful, physically massive, and dangerously gorgeous.

I’ve seen what lurks beneath his mask: a beast with a primal taste for chasing, catching, and corrupting.

Now, to stop a mafia war, I’m being wed to that very monster.

But the deeper I’m drawn into Kratos’ twisted reality, the more I realize one thing: The most dangerous game you can play with a psychopath isn’t running away.

It’s falling for one.

••••••

REVIEW: CORRUPTED HEART is the fourth instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult VENOMOUS GODS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Italian Mafia princess and dancer Bianca Sartorre, Greek Mafia Kratos Drakos, story line. CORRUPTED HEART can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there WILL BE multiple TRIGGERS for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Kratos and Bianca) CORRUPTED HEART follows in the wake of the arranged marriage between our story line couple. A war between the controlling factions of the Greek, Italian, Russian and Serbian Mafia has escalated in part due to the accidental actions of our story line heroine. Pulled into a dangerous situation where she was left to fend for herself, Bianca will quickly discover payment will come at a cost, perhaps the cost of her life. In order to pay for the sins of our heroine, Bianca is forced to marry a monster of a man, a man with whom she is currently involved but all is not, and has never been well in Kratos Drakos’ life, and the past is about to threaten everyone he has ever loved. What ensues is the unconventional relationship between Kratos and Bianca, and the potential fall-out as betrayal threatens to destroy our story line couple

The world building is dark and gritty. Jagger Cole’s storylines are increasingly more brutal, and the characters are bordering on, if not, psychopaths and deviants. Twisted kinks amounting to questionable choices threatens our story line heroine at every turn.

The relationship between Kratos and Bianca begins as a rescue, of a sorts. Bianca is thrown into a situation by a so-called friend but our heroine finds herself a victim of naivety and immaturity as she struggles to stay one step ahead of the of the horrifying reality that has become her world. Kratos Drakos is a creation of his late father-a monster without remorse but a man who has fallen in love with a woman whose own needs are met by our hero. The $ex scenes are dark, unconventional edgy and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of questionable, colorful and charismatic secondary and supporting characters many of whom are deviant, and brutal.

CORRUPTED HEART is a story involving the criminal underworld including Russian, Greek, Italian, Irish and Serbian Mafias; a dark, dramatic and twisted premise of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, madness and murder, acceptance and love. The characters are struggling, embattled, and haunting; the romance is tragic and raw.

Heed my WARNING-the triggers are numerous, brutal, haunting- a cautionary suggestion to be prepared.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 22, 2024

Once he was my enemy. Now, he’s my boss.

Rich, successful, viciously gorgeous, and sinisterly brutal, Alistair Black is every bit his last name.

Morally black. Inky black heart. Devious black soul.

In college, we were enemies. Rivals. Bully vs bully. I almost ruined his life.

Now, ten years later, our paths cross again when I’m forced to work under him.

And he hasn’t at all forgotten or forgiven me for what I did to him back at school.

Now he’s my brooding, emotionally unavailable boss with the body of a god.

And I’m his plaything.

The target of his malice and revenge. The one from whom he wants to hear “yes, sir”, and nothing else.

Years ago, I thought I was done with Alistair Black.

But it turns out, he’s nowhere near done with me…

REVIEW: DEVIOUS VOW is the second instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult VENOMOUS GODS dark, erotic, romance series. This is attorneys twenty-nine year old Eloise LeBlanc, and thirty four year old Alistair Black’s story line. DEVIOUS VOW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE : Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Eloise and Alistair) DEVIOUS VOW follows the second chance relationship between our story line couple. Ten years earlier, while attending the same school for children of parents in organized crime, Eloise LeBlanc and Alistair Black bullied one another until one-night together changed all of their lives going forward. Fast forward ten years, Alistair Black is a ruthless attorney, and his firm is forced to hire our story line heroine, a position that places Eloise in the direct line of fire . Alistair despises everything about the woman with whom he will fall in love but secrets and lies are about to reveal a different past, a different perception, and betrayal at the heart of their entire lives. What ensues is the acrimonious but rebuilding romance and relationship between Eloise and Alistair, and the fall-out when the truth is revealed threatening everything our couple thought was true.

The world building is detailed and complex. Betrayal and greed are rampant; dysfunctional family values threaten futures, lives, friendships and jobs. Secrets and lies reveal years of deception at every level of family defects.

The toxic relationship between Eloise and Alistair is one of second chances. A perceived betrayal ten years earlier sent Alistair into a frantic tail spin but Eloise suffered more than he could have ever imagined. Reconnecting ten years later pushed Alistair to avenge what he believed to be the ultimate betrayal but the truth would reveal a different story. The $ex scenes are provocative, aggressive and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, dynamic and powerful secondary and supporting characters-some questionable, some dark, some abusive, many not worthy of a second chance. We are reintroduced to Dante Sartorre and Tempest Black (Toxic Love), as well as Alistair’s brother Gabriel, their grandfather Charles Black, and crime lord Massimo Carveli. The requisite evil has many faces.

DEVIOUS VOW is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, family and friendships, jealousy and love. The premise is dramatic, intense and dark; the romance is controversial and consuming ; the characters are desperate and determined

A reader first and foremost, Jagger Cole cut his romance writing teeth penning various fan-fiction stories years ago. After deciding to hang up his writing boots, Jagger worked in advertising pretending to be Don Draper. It worked enough to convince a woman way out of his league to marry him, though, which is a total win.

Now, Dad to two little princesses and King to a Queen, Jagger is thrilled to be back at the keyboard.

When not writing or reading romance books, he can be found woodworking, enjoying good whiskey, and grilling outside–rain or shine.
