REVIEW: TWISTED HEARTS is the fourth instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult DARK HEARTS dark, erotic, crime world romance series set in the author’s KINGS AND VILLAINS world. This is head of the Bratva organization Gavan Tsarenko, and Irish Mob heiress Eilish Kildare’s story line. TWISTED HEARTS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story. Eilish is the sister of the head of the Kildare Irish Mob Cillian Kildare.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Gavan and Eilish) TWISTED HEARTS follows in the aftermath of a college sorority hazing that set up our heroine to take the fall. Owing six months of her life to Gavan Tsarenko, Eilish finds herself caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place when Gavan reveals a secret Eilish has been keeping from her mob affiliated family but everything does not go according to plan when the Bratva High Council is at odds when an outsider wants a chance at the throne. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between Gavan and Eilish, and the potential fall-out as our couple find themselves target by more than one unknown adversary.

The world building continues to focus on the fight for control. The Bratva Council, including the leaders of the seven most powerful families has been brought to the brink of war, and someone else may be pulling the strings but as Eilish struggles with her ‘payment’ to Gavan Tsarenko, she will discover that she may be payment for a debt, someone else owes.

The relationship between Eilish and Gavan begins tempestuously when Eilish finds herself as the mercy of our story line hero. Eilish took from Gavan what cannot be returned, and Gavan was determined to take everything from Eilish including her freedom and person autonomy. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, provocative and intense, and not without some scenes of questionable consent.

Once again, there Is a large ensemble cast of powerful, energetic and determined secondary and supporting characters many of whom we met in previous story lines. The requisite evil has many faces but not everyone is the monster they claim to be.

TWISTED HEARTS is another graphic story of violence, abuse, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and greed, family and relationships, forgiveness, loss and love. The fast paced premise is dark, dramatic and intense; the romance dramatic and defiant; the characters are troubled, desperate and impassioned.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Elsa and Hades) SINFUL HEARTS follows in the aftermath of Elsa Guin’s visit to a members only $ex club. Months earlier, attorney Elsa Guin came face to face with Greek Mafia member Hades Drakos, and would find herself working on a business acquisition with the Drakos family. Fast forward to present day, Elsa is desperate to lose her V-card, a V-card that is currently being used by someone else as fodder for control. An anonymous one-night stand in which Hades has no idea as to the identity of his partner ends when Elsa ghosts our hero sometime through the night but Elsa’s need to run is more or less predicated on the threats in her life, a life that is connected to her past. As Hades refuses to admit to a relationship with Elsa, he will soon discover that all is not well in the between the different factions of the criminal underworld, and the Drakos family is about to be pulled into a war with the Bratva and Albanian mobs. What ensues is the building relationship between Elsa and Hades, and the potential fall-out when secrets and lies push Hades to threaten the woman he loves.

The relationship between Hades and Elsa begins as a working relationship but Elsa struggles with a future that is no longer under her control, and the future of her fifteen year old sister Nora who is about to become a pawn for power and control. Hades doesn’t do relationships but something about Elsa draws Hades like a moth to a flame, a moth that refuses to admit there is more to Elsa than meets the eye. Elsa knows that to get involved with a client could mean the end her to law career but Hades refuses to back down, or let go of our story line heroine. Hades obsessions with Elsa is the only thing that will protect our heroine when the past refuses to let go. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense with a little bit of ‘daddy kink’.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including Hades’ brothers Ares and his mate Neve, Kratos Drakos, sister Calliope Drakos, their grandmother Yaya aka Dimitra Drakos; Neve’s cousin Eilish; Elsa’s sister Nora, and head of the Kildare Irish Mob Cillian Kildare; Reznikov Bratva head Gavan Tsarenko and his captain Leo. The requisite evil has many faces. Gavan’s story line is next in TWISTED HEARTS.

SINFUL HEARTS is a story of secrets, betrayal, and vengeance; power and control; obsession and madness; acceptance and love. The premise is dark,dramatic and captivating; the romance is seductive yet gritty; the characters are powerful and determined.

Una is hoping to save the life of her twin and brother Finn but someone is directing our heroine behind the scenes. Her latest target is the head of the Irish Mob Cillian Kildare, the man with whom Una will fall in love, but a man who is going to use Una to win a war. A marriage of convenience is meant to unite the warring families of the Irish Mob but all does not go according to plan when a ghost from the past, returns with a vengeance.

Cillian Kildare is a sadist; a socio-path, a psychotic madman who needs to vent his rage and his anger, and his targets are usually the lowest of the low. Since an early age, Cillian knew something wasn’t right but he would channel his need for revenge at those who deserved it the most. Having barely survived a childhood of abuse and torture, Una is the perfect outlet for our story line hero.

The relationship between Cillian and Una is an enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience predicated upon years of madness and abuse. Una was desperate to save the brother she hadn’t see in almost two years, and Cillian was the ticket to free her brother from captivity but all was not as it appeared to be, and Una’s relationship with the past was about to destroy everything she knew. Celeste Margaux thought she had been betrayed by the man that she loved, and for four years struggled to survive in a marriage of convenience but all was not as it had appeared to be, and Celeste finds herself on the run, desperate to find protection from the man she once loved. Adrian Cross has struggled in the four years since Celeste married someone else, destroying his heart in the process. Now at the top of the criminal underworld, Adrian is determined to reclaim the woman he once loved, even if he has to break her will and destroy her heart.

The relationship between Adrian and Celeste is one of second chances but a relationship predicated upon control and humiliation. Adrian is a jerk, an a$$hole of epic proportions, and his treatment of Celeste is often demeaning and cruel. In an effort to save her life, Celeste must succumb to Adrian’s demands, forcing herself to become a virtual prisoner of the man that she loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and provocative but not without some issues of questionable consent.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters many of whom we have met in previous story lines, duets and interconnected series written by Jagger Cole including the Cinder Duet, and the Hunted Duet. We are introduced to Celeste’s father Jean Margaux, and Celeste’s friend Adele. The requisite evil has many faces.

DARK KINGDOM is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, money and greed, family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is often cruel and demeaning; the characters are desperate, determined, dangerous and dark.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Melody and Jackson) BROKEN LINES follows Melody Blue’s search for former rock star Jackson Havoc, lead singer for Velvet Guillotine. Ten years earlier, Jackson Havoc disappeared without a trace but Melody is desperate to gain a foothold at Ignition Magazine, and with her mother’s history as a rock and roll groupie, Melody had some information no one else could obtain. Finding Jackson hiding out on an island in Maine pushes Melody to understand what happened and why, and in the end Melody refuses to out our story line hero but someone else is more desperate than Melody, and sets about to destroy our story line couple. One month earlier, , Tatiana lost her father to a supposed car accident but our heroine is missing several months to years of memories, and in this Tatiana struggles to uncover the truth. Tatiana Fairist grew up the only child of Peter Fairist, the head of the Balagula Bratva, and with her father’s death, Tatiana is about to face the wrath of the ‘high council’ in the face of inheriting her father’s money and control but someone else is waiting to assume the chair of the Balagula Bratva, and our heroine finds herself at the mercy of a killer who is quickly falling for his wounded prey. Line heroine, and in this Tatiana must decide who is telling the truth, and who is telling the lie. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and aggressive, and not without some issues of questionable consent.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and powerful secondary and supporting characters including Tatiana’s former step-mother Jana; Kirstoff’s ‘boss’ Boris Tsavakov; head of the Ghost Syndicate Mikhail Arakas; Kristoff’s friend and fellow assassin Marko. There is a slight cross over with some of the characters from The Bratva’s Claim series.

THE HUNTER KING is a story of power, control and obsession, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, obsession and delusion, fear and hate.
