Told from dual first person perspectives (Ella and Noel) following two time-lines BURNED CINDER follows the acrimonious relationship between forty-two year old businessman Noel Ransom , and twenty-one year old Ella Ashford. Approximately seven years earlier Ella’s life spiralled out of control following the death of her beloved father, the engagement and subsequent death of her mother, and the sentencing to reform school for our story line heroine. Upon her release Ella Ashford made plans to seek revenge against the man she blames for everything that went wrong, the man who was about to take charge of her life. Enter forty-two year old businessman Noel Ransom, the man who now controls every financial aspect of our heroine’s life. What ensues is the building but tempestuous relationship between Ella and Noel, and the fall-out as Ella becomes a pawn in a war between former friends, business partners, and anyone who has ever had dealings with the Kings and Villains of London’s Lord’s College.

Ella Ashford has lost everyone she has ever loved in her life and continues to struggle in the face of paying for a debt owed. Noel Ransom is a man who is seeking revenge for sins of the past, revenge that may or may not be directed at our story line heroine. Forcing Ella into a loveless marriage for business not pleasure, Ella’s life continues to spiral out of control, pulled in several directions by secrets and lies, and in the end, Ella’s choices push our heroine into the direct line of fire. Unable to trust the man whom she married, Ella finds herself at a crossroads, a crossroads from which Ella may not be able to return.

The relationship between Ella and Noel is an age-gap relationship fraught with many issues of trust and heart break; an enemies to reluctant lovers in which Ella is contractually forced to marry a man she does not love, and she can never trust. Naïve and easily manipulated, Ella struggles to believe the man with whom she will fall in love, a struggle that continues to pull Ella in a number of directions. Noel’s connections to Ella’s family run dangerous and deep, and it is these connections that are about to push our heroine into a spiral from which she may never return. The $ex scenes are aggressive and intense, and not without some issues of questionable consent.

We are introduced to Noel’s step-daughters Naomi and Cora, as well as Noel’s business rivals Oliver Prince and his son Jacob, Ella’s boss Harry, as well as Bastien Pierce and Julianna McCreed (Forbidden Crown/Savage Heirs), and Noel’s second Liam.

BURNED CINDER is a detailed and complex Cinderella-esque story of secrets and lies, betrayal and revenge, heart break and pain, obsession, power and control. Told from dual first person perspectives (Konstantin and Mara) DEFIANT QUEEN follows Mafia princess Mara Belsky as she journeys to Russia to uncover the truth about the day she was struck by an assassin’s bullet but the target upon our heroine’s back has yet to be removed, and Mara finds herself in constant danger from an unknown source, and the man that she loves. Konstantin Reznikov is keeping secrets from our story line heroine, secrets he knows could destroy the limited trust between Mara and himself but the past refuses to die, and our couple continue to be the focus of a series of reminders that everything they knew could very well be a lie. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Konstantin and Mara, and the fall-out as an assassin returns to finish the job.

Julianna McCreed has not had the easiest life having lived in the shadow of her scandalized parents. Then relationship between Julianna and Bastian is one of immediate attraction, one that begins before our couple are aware of their mutual connections. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and charismatic secondary and supporting characters including the appearance of previous story line couples as well as the new head of the Reznikov Bratva Konstantin Reznikov, Sergei Melnyk; and Julianna’s parents Rebecca and Braddock McCreed.

REVIEW:BRUTAL KING is the third instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, young adult/new adult SAVAGE HEIRS dark, erotic, Bratva romance series. This is eighteen year old Lizbet Belsky, and Lukas Komarov’s story line. BRUTAL KING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence and abuse there may be triggers for more sensitive readers. Although most of the characters are high school aged, and attend a private, boarding school for the elite, royal, rich or connected, the story line contains adult situations, therefore I do not recommend for anyone under eighteen years of age.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lizbet and Lukas) BRUTAL KING follows the marriage of convenience between eighteen years olds Lizbet Belsky, and Lukas Komarov. Two years earlier, Lizbet Belsky’ father Semyon was gunned down in a Bratva war. No love loss between Lizbet and her father but a desperate need finds our heroine facing the heads of the Bratva family, aiming to take control of her father’s empire but Lizbet never expected to come face to face with Lukas Komarov, one of the ruling kings at England’s Oxford Hall Academy, and a particular nasty thorn in our heroine’s side. The heads of the Bratva families are not easily swayed and reluctantly make Lizbet choose losing everything or marrying on one of the sons of the Bratva families. Enter Lukas Komarov, and the man with whom Lizbet would fall in love. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Lukas and Lizbet, and the potent fall-out as Lukas’ demons begin to take over, and our heroine stands in the direct line of fire.

Lukas Komarov’s backstory is dangerous and dark; heart breaking and demented, thusly, controlling the monster within. Lukas, unable to control the demons from his past, uses pain, in an effort to excise the memories and the dragon that demands to be released. Lizbet is a reminder of everything that went wrong, everything that Lukas cannot control. Lizbet Belsky knows her time is limited, and in this, she is desperate to gain control of her late father’s estate but the Bratva families demand payment for her father’s sins, and this Lizbet is to be made an example, an example that will fall for the man that wants to destroy her life.

The relationship between Lizbet and Lukas is acrimonious at best. Lukas wants nothing to do with our story line heroine believing she is not worthy of attending the prestigious Oxford Hall Academy. With her father’s history, and sins against the reigning Bratva families, Lizbet is persona non grata, and in this, is desperate to gain control before everything is for naught but as Lukas and Lizbet begin to reveal a little bit about their pasts, the pain and darkness begin to engulf our story line couple. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Bratva Prince/heir Ilya Volkov and Tenley Chambers (Savage Heir 1), Mischa Tsavakov and princess Charlotte Bergendem (Savage Prince 2), as well as Lukas’ adopted parents Victor and Fiona, Bratva heir Konstantin Resnikov, and Lizbet’s roommate Julianna McCreed.

BRUTAL KING is a dark and dangerous story of power and control, betrayal and revenge, creed, desperation, abuse and torture. The premise is raw; the romance is dramatic; the characters are broken, desperate, and determined.

Tenley Chambers’ father is the US Secretary of State, and is about to run for the office of the Vice-President of the United States but in an effort to secure his political standing, a fake relationship between Tenley and the son of her father’s running mate means Tenley finds herself at an elite boarding school in Europe where the rich and infamous fight for power and control. Hoping to earn some extra credit, Tenley ‘volunteers’ to tutor some of the other students but comes face to face with her future in the guise of Ilya Volkov aka The Wolf, and the boy/man with whom she will fall in love but Ilya comes from a world of threats and deception, and our heroine is about to learn the true meaning of power and control. What ensues is the building relationship between Ilya and Tenley, and the potential fall-out as the repercussions of Tenley’s relationship with Ilya threatens her father’s future.

Ilya Volkov, along with Lukas Komarov, and Misha Tsavakova, are the heir apparent in the world of the Russian Bratva, and as such have earned a reputation as dangerous and dark but none more so than Ilya, who, like his name, is more predator than most. Wanting Tenley Chambers for himself, Ilya demands everything from our story line heroine, including obedience, and her heart and soul.

The relationship between Tenley and Ilya is tentative at best as Ilya mistakes Tenley for someone else. From the outset, Ilya appears to be determined to destroy our heroine’s life, a life that now sits precariously out of her control. As Ilya continues to demand more of our heroine, Tenley battles between head and heart knowing that in the end, Ilya will get whatever he wants, and she will be left with nothing but a broken heart. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense -more adult in nature than angst teenaged dreams.

We are introduced to Ilya’s friends and fellow Bratva ‘brats’-Misha Tsavakova and Lukas Komarov; Tenley’s roommate Princess Charlotte, and Patrick North, as well as several wanna-bes, students, and administration that are controlled by the Russian heirs.

SAVAGE HEIR is a story of power and control, obsession, coercion, blackmail and danger. The fast paced, character driven premise is raw and twisted; the characters are charismatic, startling and impassioned; the romance is dramatic and spirited.
