REVIEW: MONTANA DANGER is the second instalment in the contemporary ,adult RESTING WARRIOR RANCH erotic, romantic suspense series co-authored by Josie Jade and Janie Crouch. This is former US Navy SEAL and co-owner of Resting Warrior Ranch Harlan Young, and rancher/widow Grace Townsend. MONTANA DANGER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Harlan and Grace) MONTANA DANGER follows the second chance relationship between thirty something former US Navy SEAL Harlan Young, and rancher Grace Townsend. A little over ten years earlier Harlan Young broke Grace Townsends heart, and in the ensuing years Grace struggled to forgive the man she once loved. Fast forward to present day wherein Harlan Young, co-owner of the Resting Warrior Ranch finds himself face to face with the woman he destroyed, a woman whose ranch has been targeted by the neighbor next door. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Harlan and Grace, and the potential fall-out as greed and vengeance threaten the lives of our story line couple.

Ten years earlier, to protect her life, Harlan Young walked away from the woman he loved, a woman who came to despise the man who broke her heart. In an effort to move on from a dark and dangerous life, Grace married a man she did not love but a man who protected our heroine until the day he died. With the return of Harlan Young, Grace battled between head and heart but threats against Grace, and the ranch that she loved, forced Harlan to become guardian and protector of our story line heroine.

The relationship between Harlan and Grace is one of second chances; a rekindling romance wherein Harlan reveals the truth about what happened years before, a truth that forces Grace to relive the moments that almost destroyed her life. Grace had struggled to forgive the man that broke her heart until the truth acknowledges the painful reality. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, we are re-introduced to Harlan’ s business partners and former US Navy SEALS: Liam, Lucas & Evelyn (Montana Sanctuary 1), Jude, Grant, Noah and Daniel, Deja Brew cafe owner Lena, and police chief Charlie Garcia. The requisite evil has many faces.

MONTANA DANGER is a story of greed and obsession, power and control, forgiveness and love, acceptance and happily ever after. The fast paced premise is edgy and gripping; the characters are spirited, energetic and determined; the romance is seductive and sensual.

Montana Sanctuary (Resting Warrior Ranch 1) by Josie Jade & Janie Crouch-a review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO /

Sometimes the worst wounds can’t be seen.

Lucas Everett knows that firsthand. It’s why he and his former Navy SEAL brothers created the Resting Warrior Ranch.

They aren’t doctors, but they can offer the healing freedom of their Montana range. And they specialize in training service and emotional support animals to help sooth even the worst emotional scars.

Usually, soldiers show up at their door. But this time it’s Evelyn Taylor—a soldier in a very different kind of war.

She’s as skittish as one of the horses Lucas gentles. But he’s learned how to be patient with animals, and he’s more than happy to be patient with this quiet beauty too.

When Evelyn’s past nightmares show up in Montana, she thinks she has to run again, but Lucas isn’t going to let that happen. He’s protected his country against the worst types of threats, and he’ll protect her too.

She’s met the rancher, but now she’s about to meet the SEAL.

REVIEW: MONTANA SANCTUARY is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult RESTING WARRIOR RANCH romantic suspense series co-authored by Josie Jade and Janie Crouch- a spin off from Crouch’s ZODIAC TACTICAL series. This is former US Navy SEAL Lucas Everett, and Evelyn Taylor’s story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lucas and Evelyn) MONTANA SANCTUARY follows Evelyn Taylor as she is forced to run from a past that refuses to let go. Landing in Montana, Evelyn seeks sanctuary at the Resting Warrior Ranch co-owned by seven former US Navy SEALs including Lucas Everett, the man with whom Evelyn will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Evelyn and Lucas, and the potential fall-out as Evelyn’s past is determined to reclaim our heroine, ending her life in the process.

Evelyn Taylor hasn’t stopped running for close to four years but every time she begins to settle, her past returns seeking retribution and revenge. Staying at the Resting Warrior Ranch allows Evelyn some form of security but even the best security is not enough as history proves over, again and again. Lucas Everett never expected to fall for the woman with the haunted eyes. Lucas knows Evelyn is hiding dark and dangerous secrets but not until Evelyn reveals the truth does Lucas call in reinforcements, in an effort to save the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The relationship between Lucas and Evelyn is one of immediate attraction but Lucas doesn’t do relationships, and Evelyn hasn’t stopped running for many years. Falling for Evelyn was easy, but keeping her safe was proving to be more difficult than anyone could have ever imagined. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Lucas’ business partners and former Navy SEALS: Liam, Harlan, Jude, Grant, Noah and Daniel, as well as Evelyn’s co-workers Lena and Grace, and therapist Dr. Rayne.

MONTANA SANCTUARY is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, money and manipulation, obsession and madness, acceptance and love. The premise is gritty and haunting; the romance is seductive-the chemistry is palpable; the characters are animated, energetic and spirited.

Code Name: Virgo (Zodiac Tactical 2) by Janie Crouch-a review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 18, 2022

My code name is Virgo. The stars say I’m practical, honest, stubborn as hell.

Guilty as charged.

Zodiac Tactical is the company that gave me a second chance. We guard, protect, rescue…eliminate the threat when nobody else can. And as a former SEAL, I’m good at those things. Good with weapons, good with missions.

But with people…not so good.

So when a gruesome enemy takes Bronwyn Rourke, one of Zodiac’s newest young recruits—with blue eyes that take up nearly her whole damn face—I shouldn’t take it personally. Shouldn’t allow her to consume my every thought and become my only mission.

They took her because they thought she was alone. Easy prey. That no one would fight for her.

They were wrong.

My code name is Virgo. And I will grind my enemy to dust to bring her home.

••••••

REVIEW:CODE NAME: VIRGO is the second instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult ZODIAC TACTICAL romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Zodiac Tactical-a spin off from the author’s Linear Tactical series. This is former US Navy SEAL Harrison ‘Sarge’ McEwan aka Virgo, and twenty-three year old Bronwyn ‘Pony Girl’ Rourke’s storyline. CODE NAME: VIRGO can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous series is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sarge and Bronwyn) following several time lines CODE NAME: VIRGO follows the search and rescue of our story line heroine. Five years earlier, while on assignment in the Czech Republic, Harrison
‘Sarge’ McEwan would come upon a then eighteen year old Ukrainian Bronya Roch who had fallen upon hard times, forced to for the local cartel. In an effort to protect our heroine, if only for one night, Sarge would befriend Bronya Roch only to find himself the victim of an assault by someone else. Three years would pass before Sarge would, once again, find our story line heroine, and with the hopes of helping, offers Bronya the information to secure help from Zodiac Tactical. Fast forward to present day, Bronya now known as Bronwyn Rourke, was about to go on her first big assignment for Zodiac Tactical, an assignment in Marrakesh that would place Bronwyn on a path of death and destruction in the name of retribution and revenge. With no knowledge of what happened or why, the Zodiac Tactical team spend months looking for our story line heroine who disappeared without a trace, only to discover that she is but a shell of her former self, working for the group that was once connected to human trafficking, medical experiments, murder and fraud. What ensues is the hunt for Bronwyn, and the take down of the people in control as our couple struggle to make sense of their growing feelings for one another in the face of betrayal and an unknown enemy.

Harrison ‘Sarge’ McEwan has bided his time forming a relationship aka friendship with Bronwyn Rourke. Over five years had past since their first encounter but Sarge knew Bronwyn needed time to establish herself as an agent working for Zodiac Tactical but Sarge never suspected that Bronwyn had betrayed their friendships, and the people with he she worked, but proving otherwise found Harrison struggling to stay neutral when the proof said otherwise. Bronwyn Rourke has never been in control, and has found herself both the victim and perpetrator of horrendous events. Hoping to escape the h*ll that has become her life, Bronwyn comes face to face with the man that she loves, a man that is unaware of the path someone else is forcing upon our story line heroine.

The slow building relationship between Sarge and Bronwyn struggles in the face of time and distance, secrets and lies, power and control. Throughout most of the story line Sarge and Bronwyn remain apart-Bronwyn’s whereabouts are unknown but the few times she reappears she is nothing like the woman with whom Sarge would fall in love. REVIEW:CODE NAME: ARIES is the first instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult ZODIAC TACTICAL romantic suspense series-a spin off from the author’s LINEAR TACTICAL series. This is artist/ waitress Wavy Bollinger, and former US Navy SEAL and CEO of Zodiac Tactical Ian ‘Aries’ DeRose’s story line. CODEN NAME: ARIES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous series is revealed where necessary. Several characters from the original series including Wavy’s brothers Finn and Baby Bollinger, cross over for familiarity.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Wavy and Ian) CODE NAME: ARIES follows the building romance and relationship between artist/ waitress Wavy Bollinger, and former US Navy SEAL and CEO of Zodiac Tactical Ian ‘Aries’ DeRose. Ian DeRose and his team at Zodiac Tactical were on a mission; taking down Erick Huen and the group known as Mosaic, a group connected to human trafficking, medical experiments, murder and fraud but Ian’s need for revenge is personal, and in this anyone connected to Ian becomes fair game. Enter artist and waitress Wavy Bollinger, the woman with whom Ian will fall in love. A visit to Oak Creek, Wyoming in his search for information brings Ian up close and personal with Wavy, and her brother who are determined to protect the sister they love but Ian’s interest in Wavy is about to place a target on her back, a target that is about to break our story line heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Wavy and Ian, and the potential fall-out as Ian’s past is determined to destroy everyone he loves.

Ian DeRose has made many enemies in his life and none more so than the man he is hoping to destroy but Erick Huen is always one step ahead of our hero, and in this, Wavy will become a dangerous pawn in a game that will see our heroine fighting to survive. Wavy Bollinger is no stranger to the darker side of life, having seen what her brothers go through on a daily basis but Wavy never expected to be front and center in a game of revenge, a game where someone is going to die.

The relationship between Wavy and Ian is one of immediate attraction but Ian’s arrival in Oak Creek, Wyoming is met with trepidation and unease. From the outset Ian is unable to commit to any personal time with our story line heroine, as he is often on the move, searching for the man who destroyed his life. Meeting Wavy Bollinger gave Ian a hope for the future but the hope was about to die when his past demanded everything in return. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to several members of the Zodiac Tactical team including Harrison ‘ Sarge’ McEwan, Landon Black, Isaac, Kendrick , Neo, Jenna Franklin as well as a number of the original Linear Tactical Team: Ian MacKay, Finn and Baby Bollinger, and Callum Webb from Omega Sector series. There is a story developing for Sarge.

CODE NAME: ARIES is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and fury, murder, obsession, friendship and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing and twisted with a slight sci-fi vibe; the romance is captivating and spirited; the characters are animated. My only complaint is the quick resolution and apprehension wherein everything took place behind the scenes, and the reader wasn’t privy to the who, how or when.

Lexi Johnson has a stalker, and in this the police are reluctant to move forward, aware that our heroine’s past leaves questions of believability and truth.

The relationship between Lexi and Gavin is tempestuous at best. Gavin is desperate to uncover the truth, and in doing so pushes Lexi one too many times, and in the end, our heroine is forced to confront her past, placing herself in the direct line of fire. Gavin struggles with Lexi’s secrets and lies, and when the truth is revealed, our hero reveals a different attitude that directly affects our Lexi going forward. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

As the team at Linear Tactical head to the islands for Zac and Annie’s wedding (Cyclone #1), Lexi remains behind until a few words of advice push our heroine to go for the man that she loves.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 6, 2020

Breathe in. Breathe out. Survive.

Marilyn Ellis is finally putting her life back together. The domestic abuse she suffered may be labeled textbook by therapists, but it’s the parts she’s never told anyone that haunt her.

She refuses to get trapped in that hell ever again.

Former Special Forces soldier turned rancher Noah Dempsey is more than capable of training the delicate single mom in moves and tactics that will help her feel safe. But his own tortured past makes him decidedly less qualified for anything more.

No matter how much her big eyes—and even bigger heart—draw him in.

However, when unexpected danger arrives in their small town, Noah knows this is a woman worth fighting for. Worth fighting beside. And he’s going to be the one to do it.

She needs a hero.
He’ll have to remember how to be one.

REVIEW:STORM is the tenth instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult LINEAR TACTICAL romantic suspense story line focusing on the men and women who work for Linear Tactical. This is former Special Forces soldier turned rancher Noah “Storm’ Dempsey, and women’s shelter manager / single mother Marilyn Ellis’ story line. STORM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. LINEAR TACTICAL runs parallel to, and crosses over with another of the author’s series- RISK EVERYTHING (Bree and Tanner Thriller #4). Noah is Tanner’s brother.

WARNING: Due the to nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Noah and Marilyn) STORM follows the building romance and relationship between former Special Forces soldier turned rancher Noah Dempsey, and women’s shelter manager / single mother Marilyn Ellis. Marilyn Ellis is a survivor of domestic abuse. She and her children live and work at the New Journeys’ women’s shelter, a shelter owned and operated by computer specialist Bree Daniels (Bree and Tanner Thriller). Meeting former Special Forces solider Noah Dempsey gave our heroine pause, and thoughts about a potential future but Bree’s safety and that of her children’s is threatened when someone sets the women’s home on fire, and a planned camping trip places everyone in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Noah and Marilyn, and the potential fall-out as Bree’s past returns to destroy her life; and a destination wedding for a fellow Linear Tactical specialist almost never comes to fruition.

Marilyn Ellis survived the beatings to come out stronger for her children and herself but suffers with PTSD and often finds herself caught between reality and panic. Working to shore up her defences with Noah Dempsey finds our heroine falling for a man with demons of his own. Noah Dempsey left the military life behind him, owning a ranch and occasionally working for Linear Tactical but Noah recognizes a kindred soul in Marilyn Ellis, knowing her demons run close to the surface.

The relationship between Marilyn and Noah is one of immediate attraction but neither one was in a place to plan for the future. Marilyn has to think about her children first but it is Noah who will fall in love and offer himself to Marilyn and the family he will call his own. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Bree and Tanner (Bree and Tanner Thriller); Zac and Annie (Cyclone #1) , Trigger and Gillian; (several women and their children living at the shelter. The requisite evil has many faces including Marilyn’s soon to be ex Jared Ellis.

STORM is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and abuse, retribution and revenge. The premise is exciting and engaging; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are energetic and colorful. Once again, as in my review of Risk Everything, my only concern is the questionable decision to move forward with a camping trip when threats to everyone’s lives are still in place-a little bit TSTL.

REVIEW: BABY is the ninth instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult LINEAR TACTICAL erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Linear Tactical. This is twenty-seven year old, auto mechanic / part time Linear Tactical specialist Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger, and thirty-nine year old, professor /waitress Dr. Quinn Harrison-Pritchard’s story line. BABY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of BABY cross-over with the events of book eight PHOENIX.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Quinn and Baby) BABY follows the building relationship between twenty-seven year old, auto mechanic / part time Linear Tactical specialist Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger, and thirty-nine year old, professor /waitress Dr. Quinn Harrison-Pritchard. Quinn Harrison’s arrival in Oak Creek brings with it all sorts of problems. Divorced, broke and blacklisted by the university for which she used to work, Quinn struggles daily to survive. Meeting Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger is all kinds of wrong when our heroine discovers that the man who is about to steal her heart is a student at the local college, a college for which she is currently teaching. For the past two years everything that could have happened, happened to Quinn Harrison, and the accidents and questionable events continue with her arrival in Oak Creek, the town in which her brother, Linear Tactical owner Riley ‘Phoenix’ Harrison currently resides. Trying to keep her whereabouts secret is increasingly difficult as not only do the police want to question Quinn about a series of events, but her arrival continues to draw red flags wherever she goes. When the ‘accidents’ begin to take on a familiar pattern, Baby calls in the Linear Tactical team in an effort to uncover the truth about what is happening and why. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Baby and Quinn, and the potential fall-out as Quinn’s past is determined to take down our story line heroine.

Quinn Harrison-Pritchard is Riley Boy’s sister but our heroine keeps secrets everything that happened including her arrival in the town of Oak Creek but the town gossips spread rumors faster than an out of control fire, gossip that increases with the number of questionable incidences pointed at our story line heroine. Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger is a high-school drop out but is focusing on making his place in the world. Baby Bollinger is also keeping secrets, a secret that is about to upend his well-ordered world.

The relationship between Baby and Quinn is one of immediate attraction but Quinn struggles with their age difference, and the tainted past that continues to threaten her sanity and peace. Baby knows Quinn is the woman he loves but as Quinn’s life continues to spiral out of control Baby must uncover the truth before Quinn is lost to our hero, forever. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Most of the previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Zac and Annie (Cyclone #1), Finn and Charlotte (Eagle #2), Shamrock (Aiden & Violet #), Angel (Gabriel & Jordan 4), Ghost (Dorian), Echo (Cade & Peyton), officer Gavin Zimmerman, as well as café owner Lexi Johnson. Baby’s nieces and nephews are good for a couple of chuckles and ‘poo’. Gavin and Lexi’s storyline is next in Redwood.

BABY is a startling story of vengeance and retaliation, relationships, family, secrets and love. The character driven premise is suspense filled and edgy; the characters are energetic and edgy; the romance is tender and seductive. BABY is a passionate and fated story of second chances and happily ever after.

What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Cade and Peyton, and the potential fall-out as Peyton’s past is hoping to end her life, and a betrayal forces Cade to take stock of his future.

Peyton Ward works three jobs in an effort to take care of the child she loves but coming face to face with her past brought with it too many memories of what was and what was never to be. Cade Conner had no idea the h*ll of which Peyton Ward endured within weeks of him leaving Oak Creek, Wyoming. Hoping to make things right, Cade Conner begins a slow seduction of his muse but with a stalker intent on destroying his life, Cade’s first priority is to protect the woman he loves and everything she has to offer.

The relationship between Cade and Peyton is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people torn apart by circumstance, betrayal, secrets and lies. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
