Having had the chance to read a previous book by Jenna Bayley-Burke and enjoying that one, I knew I was in for another fun read by this author. After reading The Billionaire’s Holiday Engagement I can safely say that Ms. Bayley-Burke did not disappoint. The Billionaire’s Holiday Engagement is another fun, flirty, sexually charged story complete with a strong hero and heroine in Cameron and Lauren. Ms. Bayley-Burke wrote a well balanced story filled with enough sexual tension to keep the fires at a simmering point. Lauren and Cameron carry the story with ease and make it believable and real. I quite enjoyed Lauren and Cameron together as a couple. I found them to be fun and quirky, but with a professional drive that sometimes got in the way of romance and relationships. It’s almost as if both were using their professions as an excuse to really get close to someone and give themselves the chance to fall in love with that special someone.
As Cameron and Lauren play out Cameron’s crazy plan of pretending they are engaged is when the fun really starts. It’s during this crazy plan where we start to see their feelings about relationships and each other change. It was fun to watch this scenario play out and watch the sexual tension between the two escalate to the boiling point. It was nice that Ms. Bayley-Burke didn’t just toss the two together once Lauren agreed to Cameron’s crazy plan. I liked that there was that sexual tension between Lauren and Cameron, it kept things interesting between them and also helped to showcase their changing feelings towards each other. I also enjoyed the ensemble of quirky secondary characters who also helped move Lauren and Cameron’s adventure along. Their interactions are comical at times, but other times brought out bits and pieces of both Cameron and Lauren that maybe we wouldn’t have seen if these characters weren’t involved.
Ms.Bayley-Burke does a superb job of tying everything together by books end, and for anyone who knows me, then you know I’m not spoiling any plot lines. Just trust me, go and read the book, its well worth it. Ms. Bayley-Burke has a knack for writing fun, flirty reads with just the right amount of sexually charged and steamy love scenes to keep you entertained from beginning to end.
