Bishop…
The nightmare is far from over. New players emerged, proving the trafficking ring we took down is much bigger than we realized. The Souls of Satan were only a small piece of the puzzle. It’s been hell putting together the jagged pieces. Figuring out where they all fit.
She doesn’t fit in the puzzle. She’s jagged…that’s for sure. But no matter how much she believes she’s like the other girls, she simply doesn’t fit.
They had no one looking for them. No one who cares. But she did.
I saved her. And she hates me for it.
Sloan…
They took me. Stole me as if I’m nothing. I wanted to stay gone. Disappear forever. I don’t deserve to live, have happiness. The hell they put me in was the perfect place for me.
Then he showed up. He lifted me into his arms, carried me away. Brought me back to a reality I’d rather forget. He makes me remember what I was like before…who I used to be…before I lost everything.
All I want to do is forget.
He says I’m trouble. I disagree. I’m not the one with all the power. He has it. And I can’t allow myself to believe he just might be worth the trouble.

REVIEW: WORTH THE TROUBLE is the third instalment in JL Leslie’s contemporary, adult RBMC: BIRMINGHAM dark, erotic, MC romance series -a part of the multi-authored Royal B*stards MC. This is Bishop Winstead, and Sloan Kendrick’s story line. WORTH THE TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Sloan was first introduced in book one WORTH THE RISK.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Sloan and Bishop) WORTH THE TROUBLE focuses on the acrimonious relationship between Bishop Winstead, and Sloan Kendrick. Approximately one year earlier, Sloan Kendrick found herself the victim of a $ex trafficking ring but rescued by the RBMC and her uncle’s Fallen Eagles MC. In the ensuing year Sloan has all but become a prisoner of her uncle’s MC, in the fear of someone else coming to take her away. Bishop Winstead is the biker and man who rescued our story line heroine but their barely veiled sexual attraction is masked by hatred and anger, disrespect and humiliation. All is not well in Birmingham Alabama, as the sex trafficking ring continues to work, as the MC struggles to understand the how and the why. What ensues is the building relationship between Sloan and Bishop, and the fall-out as the RBMC is targeted, losing two of their own in the process.
The relationship between Sloan and Bishop is tempestuous at best. Bishop struggles with his attraction to a woman he believes to be broken and lost; Sloan battles between head and heart knowing she has lost so much more than anyone could have ever imagined. The $ex scenes are aggressive and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including club members from both MC: Club president Mason; Skylar and Jake, Allie and Hunter, Peppermint, Davina, Dash, as well as Sloan’s uncle Owen.
WORTH THE TROUBLE is a story of betrayal and vengeance; secrets and lies; misunderstanding and miscommunication; attraction, want, need and sacrifice. The premise is edgy, gritty and heart breaking; the characters are determined and animated; the romance is startling and intense.
