ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 24, 2024

My father is a murderer.

When I stumble upon proof that he’s part of the Division of Silence, I run right into the arms of The Harem Project. It’s fine; that’s where I’d been heading anyway. It’s time to find my husbands.

The truth of the blood on my family’s hands hangs over my head like a shadow. I try to remember as much as I can, thinking that everything has a different meaning than what I’d always thought. I should have seen this sooner. I should have known.

It’s been two years since Silence exterminated ORKA. Two long years of silence, waiting for them to make their move. Finally, the day has come as they unleash horrifying plagues upon the worlds – both human and monster alike. Each new one is far worse than the last, leaving devastation behind as The Harem Project tries to keep up.

My name is Rue and while I know that I don’t wear the blood that my family spilled, it weighs on me to make it right. Even if that means that these few short weeks with my husbands is all that I get before the world as we know it ends in screams, bodies, and blood. I can’t let this be my family legacy.

REVIEW:Is this the final book in the series? I’m afraid to say it is 😔 I’ve loved reading this epic journey. The books can be read out of order, but my advice (opinion) it’s definitely better read in order, as there is an on going story.

A quick rundown of the players in this book/series……

Harem Project (this was created to bring families together. You fill out an extensive application form, giving your likes/dislikes/personal information and everything in between. They then give you a portfolio of families that they think you’ll like, you then meet and discuss, if you fit, you marry and grow as a family.)

ORKA ( this organisation was created to combat the division of silence!)

Division of Silence (this organisation was formed to eradicate monsters from the world!) They deem all monsters to be dangerous!

So….. Ruri or Rue as she now likes to be called found out that her father is a leader in the dreaded organisation!! But why, when they are monsters themselves! But that’s not the best part …. (Nope 🤐) but anyway she runs off to find her husbands and make them aware of what she’s found out…..

And the family that Rue chooses …. The house of Savage (it’s usually the most dominant person that’s the leader, and the family will take that name.)

They are an established unit already…. It’s usually the “wife” that’s the last link that’s missing in the family unit.

We do focus on Calix & Koa a fair bit, but that’s not to say the others aren’t voiced and loved. We get time to interact also with Bryn & Javan, and we get to see them all come together with Rue (all except Koa and we get told why.)

The author put a lot of thought into her chat before and after the story is told. (That one of my favourite things they do in each of the books, in fact all of her books are like that.)

And so the final battle draws near and it’s down to humans against monsters! But as we find out pretty quick, humans are also a casualty and so are the monsters!

It’s fast paced story that doesn’t stop until the last word is read!

The author makes it clear that there won’t be a spin off series (there are just too many characters for that to happen.) and she also makes it clear that this isn’t a RH/why choose where the MFC isn’t the central point in this family! And if you’ve read all the stories, you’ll know that! And I’ve loved that about this series. I’ve grown to love this series (not all the books have been favourites) for that reason. The author makes no apologies for the way she writes them.

There are a few moments that might be triggers (please read the warnings) there are a few moments that made me 😢 the world will definitely change after this last battle….

I’ve loved meeting new monsters, I cheered when we caught up with previous families (they’ve got books in this series.) And I’m definitely on #teammonster in this book. It’s graphic without being gory. It’s spicy without overdoing it. But it shows you that family doesn’t have to be blood related. That even when it’s at its most darkest, there is still that small pinprick of light to show you hope.

I’m going to miss the Harem Project. But it’s on my list to Reread again and again 💜

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 28, 2024

She saved his life. Can he heal her heart?
He crossed an ocean to find her…

Baron Edward Sinclair, affectionately known as Sin, never imagined himself the marrying kind until he encountered the captivating Elizabeth in the American colonies. When illness brought him to death’s door, it was the young widow who tenderly nursed him back to health, but they became separated when he left to continue his assignment. Now, fate reunites them in England, where he discovers that Lizzie, his mysterious angel, is none other than the companion to his beloved aunt.

She crossed an ocean to forget him…

For Lizzie, being widowed in the colonies triggered a cascade of hardship, fear, and grief. Returning to England, she yearns to reunite with her brother, whom she has not seen in several years. Fortunate to secure a position as a companion, she finds solace in her employer’s warmth and generosity, treating her more like family than hired help. However, an unexpected encounter with the dashing Edward Sinclair, a man etched in her memory and her heart, disrupts her plans for a solitary life. While the handsome and wealthy baron attracts the attention of debutantes and their matchmaking mothers, Lizzie resigns herself to the belief that her fate is to live out her days alone.

As Edward and Lizzie navigate the intricacies of their rekindled connection, they must confront the ghosts of their pasts and face the threats that conspire to keep them apart.

Note: This series is part of Dragonblade’s Sweet Dreams line, so this is a sweet, wholesome Historical Romance where passion beyond the bedroom door is left to the reader’s imagination.

••••••••

REVIEW: Baron Edward “Sin” Sinclair loves his country. But almost pays with his life on his latest mission… succumbing to the yellow fever that’s rife in this part of America. But luckily stumbles upon a home of a war widowed nurse. Who nurses him back to full strength, they grow close and Sin makes the lovely Elizabeth a promise to come back to her after he finishes his mission….

But how long do you wait? Feeling homesick, missing her brother and not being made welcome by her husband’s family. Lizzie decides to return to London and hopefully reconnecting with her brother.

Finding a job as a companion to the lovely “aunt Millie” Elizabeth settles down to London life.

By chance the pair meet up again at a Ball. And Elizabeth finds out that the old lady she’s a companion for is Sin’s aunt! What are the chances of that? She watches as debutantes flirt with Sin…..

But will they decide on just staying friends? Or will they let their feelings for one another flourish and grow into something more?

I loved all of the characters in this book. Aunt Millie made me chuckle. We have a cute dog. And a mystery or two that needs solving, we also have someone else interested in Lizzie! But she’s not interested, will they take the hint and leave her alone? Sin and Lizzie are so cute together, she’s definitely a nurturer and he’s a dashing hero.

This is a sweet story, so nothing happens on the page.

I’m definitely interested in going back to read the previous books, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 10, 2024

One weekend can change everything.

Caulder

I’ve lived a very quiet life, keeping my deepest secrets close to my chest. I let no one in; not even my closest friends. When I’m invited to participate in the All-Star Games, I’m suddenly forced to share a hotel room, and a single bed, with a stranger. My carefully guarded world starts to come undone when he kisses me, and I can’t get enough.

Now one person shares my secret. It’s a relief, really. But just as I’m starting to fall for Lo Duvall, my world implodes. A woman in Philly claims that we hooked up in a club and she’s carrying my baby. Are we over before we can even begin?

Lo

Anonymous hookups when I’m on the road are how I manage to keep my personal life private. All I want is to play hockey and keep everything else out of the media. That gets more complicated when I meet the gorgeous Caulder Haines.

Three nights of unfiltered fuckery—that’s what we promise each other. Then we’ll go our separate ways. But by the end of the weekend, I haven’t had enough of this amazing defenseman, and don’t want to say goodbye.

I’ve fallen in love with him.

When an aspiring content creator decides to throw a wrench in my very carefully crafted plans, I know I have to do something to save what I’ve only just realized I want.

I can’t lose Caulder. I just found him. But what can I do to keep him?!

This is a LGBTQIA+ story with content not intended for those under 18 years of age due to graphic scenes and situations.

•••••••

REVIEW: Another amazing story in this great series. Crea has created a world I want to live in. Her stories come alive and stay with you long after you read the last page.

Caulder Haines has been in previous books in this series, so I was excited to see where we would go in this story.

One bed, two strangers. Has the recipe for disaster or a delicious night or two of fun.

What with Caulder being a secret gay man (he’s not ashamed, but hockey is first and foremost, life will come after he retires) and Laurent “Lo” also being gay (his hook ups are very controlled) they don’t want anyone to find out and then it becomes a media circus.

A weekend of fun, that was all it was suppose to be. To be able to be themselves. But as the weekend ends, both know it was way more than that! But how can they be together, when they live so far apart? And neither have said they are gay, so that’s something that would need to be said (and both are adamant that their gender preferences would remain quiet until they retired!)

I loved the hockey banter/the contest and catching up with some many previous characters (most have their own books) I also really liked how Lo never made Caulder feel uncomfortable, nor did he ever pressurise him into doing something he wasn’t comfortable with. I cheered as a hockey game was played (been a while since we had a game in the books) and could feel the cold on my cheeks (I do love a descriptive scene) 😊

The spanner in the works happens around (65% into the book)

And it throws both Caulder and Lo into a tailspin! And there is a reason why I don’t believe it was Caulder (but it’s not my secret to tell 🤐)

But how will Caulder explain himself? How will Lo respond to his boyfriend being the father of a baby? I can tell you this, I’d love to have Lo in my corner. He’s so supportive, caring and downright hot (his possessive tone gave me shivers 😜)

This one ranks as possibly my 2nd/3rd favourite in the series. And I absolutely loved it.

Can’t wait for the next book 👍🏻

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 26, 2024

It’s dangerous to be an honest woman—and torture for the man who loves her.

It’s dangerous to be an honest woman.
Amber St. Antoine flees Paris—and her role in spying on Bonaparte. The deputy chief of police, a venal man, craves Amber as his mistress. He’ll do anything to seduce her, even imprisoning her friends and charging them with crimes.

Amber, rescued from neglectful parents as a child by her influential aunt, grew up in the shadow of the Terror and went to prison with her aunt and Josephine Beauharnais. Despising the tyranny of a few corrupt men, Amber learned to value freedom.

As a result, when she was approached to serve in an espionage network, she accepted—and excelled. Now in fear of Vaillancourt, she flees Paris, her home—her friends.

It’s torture for the man who loves her.
Godfrey duClare, Lord Ramsey, comes to Paris as part of the British diplomatic mission now that peace exists between his county and France. His first assignment by his superior Kane, Lord Ashley, is to find the elusive agent Amber St. Antoine and keep her safe.

Following gossip and logic, Ram finds the stunningly beautiful woman deep in the French countryside. He declares she needs his protection, especially since she refuses to leave France. Defiant, Amber agrees to his company, even if they must pretend they are married.

The two travel France, discovering in each other, each day, a delight that leads to a passion neither can deny.

But when they also find new evidence of Bonaparte’s warlike plans, they must change their own. Suddenly, Vaillancourt surprises them with a ploy neither Amber nor Ram considered.

But Amber decides to outwit him.
Ramsey is furious—and wild to save her from herself. What’s a man to do if he seems foiled at every turn? Is he a fool to believe that love conquers all?

•••••

REVIEW:With a mixture of fact and fiction woven so cleverly together, it made a book that was hard to put down.

A new series (second book in a promised sixteen book series) the first book in the series I did read. I’d also recommend reading in order, they can stand on their own, but with an ongoing story in the background it seemed better to continue rather than dip in and out. (But that’s only my opinion)

Widowed Amber is fleeing Paris. A man with no qualms about making her his mistress and making her spill all of her secrets is on her tail! Fortunately a group of friends are desperate to make sure Amber escapes. So they send someone to “rescue” her!

Lord Ramsey is tasked with aiding a damsel in distress! But he’s got to find her first! If Amber doesn’t want to be found, it’s going to be hard to find her!

Chemistry between these two simply sets my kindle on fire. I couldn’t put the book down! Add in the facts blended with fiction and you have a spellbinding story.

Danger lurks within these pages. Along with passion and intrigue.

Pretending to be married seems to be the only way to travel through the Parisian countryside. Although Amber isn’t the docile and quiet wife that Ramsey thinks she should be 😝

And with our villain close on their heels, what will Amber and Ram do?

Amber I felt was both brave, but incredibly foolish! Her actions sometimes had bad consequences for both herself and Ram! Ram made me chuckle, you could see him pulling his hair out at the antics of Amber.

It’s a very well thought out book, well researched and cleverly written. I’m definitely interested in reading the next book.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 26, 2024

Do you know what it’s like to win an Olympic gold, then have it stripped away? I do.

Gold is every figure skater’s life dream. At fifteen, I experience the thrill of wearing the medal for a few minutes until judges accused me of being too young to be eligible. That’s when I realized my father’s ultimate lie could cost more than my title.

During our daring escape from Russia, I pressured my coach to tell the truth about my adoption. But the quad combination and two world titles aren’t enough to keep the scandal from erasing my career and identity. Disgraced, disqualified, and devastated, I can’t face a rink, fans, or daily life. My controlling dad’s betrayal lights a fire to break free from his bad decisions. My best friend and a journalist who will tell my story step in to stop the downward spiral and help me uncover my past.

The story of Docia’s fierce determination to discover her true identity, unerase her career, and find the passion to skate again will engage teen readers, figure skating fans, and anyone who’s ever experienced betrayal from someone close.

•••••

REVIEW:I love watching figure skating ⛸️ it’s so graceful and full of passion.

This is a story that captures all that passion and beauty.

YA/NA read that just transports you into the mind of a fifteen year old skater. Her joy at skating her best, winning a medal. Then her confusion at the cryptic conversation with a fellow skater. Then horror/fear and absolute sorrow/pain at being stripped of the medal.

Docia was such an amazing character, you feel her joy and her pain in this book. Her father was a total a$$! How he could do that to his daughter just floored me! Her friend was just a rock.

We also get a little romance 🥰 a daring escape and a twist that was a little unexpected, but a nice surprise. Watching Docia come into her own, breaking away from her overbearing father. To discover family doesn’t have to be blood related.

Told from Docia’s point of view. Her emotions are put on display. Her resilience, her determination and her willingness to fight for what was done to her.

So, if you like skating/mystery or even just a new book/author to read, then grab this book.

Who are your favorite literary villains?

By Addison Brae, author of Off Edge

Who are the characters that creep you out most in books or movies? Laurent, James, and Victoria in Twilight, Aunt Lydia in The Handmaid’s Tale, and Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games are major villains. What do you like and not like about these antagonist characters?

Some villains are real people and others are supernatural or giant human/societal forces. Each affect and challenge the main character in different ways. All require the protagonist to stay on their guard. They also keep us reading to see what will happen next. For example, how will Frodo make it past Boromir and Sauron with the ring to Mount Doom and back home safely to the Shire in Lord of the Rings? Is it possible for Harry Potter to fight off human foes like Draco Malfoy to defeat Lord Voldemort? Will Percy Jackson prevail in each of his battles against Luke Castellan, Kronos, King of the Titans, and his other enemies?

Has someone or something in your life creeped you out? Maybe the neighbor or a coworker who’s just always there? Or maybe you’ve had a period in your life when nothing went your way. Your family, people at school or work, or some unknown force wreaks havoc on everything you try to do. Some characters’ creepiness is more overt and for others, it may be hard to put your finger on exactly what makes you squirm. They’re just disturbing.

This type of creepy character inspired some colorful antagonists in Off Edge. One is Docia’s former friend, Stacy, a vicious competitor who’s in on the scheme to bring her down. A mashup of a couple of former bosses who started out friendly then turned mean inspired her into a character who says things like this:

She prances up, arms open for a big hug. “Congratulations, Docia. Enjoy your fourth place….” She leans in close, “…until everyone finds out….”

Another is Docia’s father who has characteristics of people in past relationships in my life. This character’s control and emotional abuse whittles away at Docia’s self-confidence with reactions such as this:

“I did it!”

“You did, and I’m so proud of you, sweetie. You looked beautiful out there.”

Dad’s embrace isn’t so warm. “Nice job, Docia. I’ve told you a million times not to rush your elements. You know better.”

I stiffen and pull away. “But I’m in fourth place,” I whisper out of the media’s view.

The best part of an intriguing rival is how the main character reacts to them. Do they face off in a direct battle? What’s wickedly satisfying in fiction is when the main character brings the bad guy down and walks away in complete victory.

Next time someone creeps you out, say hello. Talk to them. Maybe they just need a kind word. Now is a perfect time to change a potentially bad outcome to something fantastic.

Happy reading!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 12, 2024

Hockey and football coaches on a collision course….

Lemon

With years of hard work, I’ve made the Rainbow Dorset University Unicorns football team the pride of the state. My reputation speaks for itself, so the school stays out of my way, and that’s how I like it. If they can’t handle my sparkle, they have no business in my shine.

Now there’s someone new on campus—a washed up hockey player hired to whip the team into shape. The school had the audacity to cut my budget to pay him!

Needless to say, I’m furious. He just made an enemy he definitely doesn’t want. But why does he have to be so gorgeous?! Why does he have to have a beautiful wife and a perfect life? And why can’t I keep my hands off him and just yell at him like I intend?

Hansley

I was directionless when I retired from hockey. So I jumped on the offer from Rainbow Dorset University to be their head hockey coach. The campus is like nothing I’ve ever seen; full of rainbows, community, kindness, inclusivity. It feels like I’m in a brand new world—a better world—and I’m excited to be a part of it.

Everything is amazing until I meet Coach Lemon Frost, who clearly despises me, though I don’t know why. He’s definitely out for my job. But then he keeps kissing me and sending my entire world spinning on its axis.

I can’t tell if he hates me or wants me. The line is blurred. All I know is Lemon is about to make my entire world implode when I tell my wife I’ve been having an affair. Yet… I think I’m here for it.

REVIEW:Yessssss another new series for me to obsess over.

If you’ve read the “For your Love” series, then you’ll recognise one of the main male characters. If you haven’t, then it’s not really an issue, but the four book series gives a little insight to the spiky football coach.

Lemon by name, lemon by nature🍋 he’s sour, rude, obnoxious, arrogant and a total diva!! He’s taken his football team to the finals many times, his players go on to be picked to play for major teams! Does that give him a big head? Yes it does!

Hansley is the total opposite to Lemon. He played ice hockey, he won many games, numerous trophies, management wasn’t really an option, but courted by the university, he’s decided to give coach a go.

Another gay for you story, for this author knows how to write these stories.

Meeting Lemon has Hansley confused. A hetro-male, he’s never looked at men. But something about this feisty man has Hansley questioning his sexuality.

Their relationship has so many ups and downs that it gives you motion sickness 😜 they take one step forward and two steps back. Given the fact that Hansley is still married (hmm) is a bone of contention between the couple. And Lemon is a hard man to please, he’s opinionated, his thought process is the only one he listens too.

But he’s also just a man looking for love. He’s lonely, his prickly exterior keeps people at bay. His first opinion of Hansley is totally out of order. His spending has been cut considerably, and Hansley is at fault.

I loved this couple. I liked how Hansley took on Lemon and “tamed” him 😝 he wanted to make the sparkly coach all his. 💕

So can they really make a go of this relationship? How will Hansley explain to his wife he has a new love? And will Lemon finally mellow?

If this book doesn’t make you go back and read the “for your love” series, then your missing out on meeting Lemon Frost in all his rainbow glory 🌈 😜

Sometimes, all it takes is a single moment to realize you’re needed somewhere and in that moment, your entire life changes. Felton has so many broken pieces that he can barely breathe.

But that’s okay. I’m going to show this man what love is. If he doesn’t have the capacity to protect himself, I’ll do it for him. The abuse ends now.

REVIEW: If I could reach into a book and hug/protect a character, then Felton would be it.

He may be a huge goalie, a mountain of a man , but he’s been belittled and terrorised all his life, and not by kids at school, no, far worse! By his own father!! His family, especially his mother didn’t really try to stop it! So Felton has no confidence at all, in fact when hearing his fathers voice, Felton goes into panic/shut down mode (his way of trying to protect himself!)

Then Felton’s world falls apart! His career is on the line. And Felton begins to spiral…..

Ren plays on the same team as Felton, they know each other, but not really friends. Ren has his own set of friends and a loving family. So when Ren begins to notice Felton, it’s firstly as a concerned team member. And the more Ren gets to know about Felton (the one behind the fake smile) the more Ren

It’s a sloooowburn, but watching as Ren slowly comes to realise that Felton is it for him, has me not minding the spice scenes being missing. In fact, if they’d gone at it from the get go, I think we would have lost a beautiful story.

Ren becomes Felton’s friend/confidant/mentor and cheerleader. He becomes the wall that Felton needs against his father. And Ren shows him that family can love each other unconditionally. Felton hands over the reigns to Ren, and lets him make ALL of his decisions. Suddenly a huge weight is lifted, and Felton can finally breathe.

I squealed as a crossover character is mentioned. Puzzled to myself as to who will be in the next book. And sighed, as I close yet another emotional book. I love this series.

I like how the author builds the story and the characters. This one has less crossovers, but it does have a few hockey moments. (Which the last few have been lacking. This one is possibly another “gay for you” as Ren has slept with women, and has never really looked at men “that way”, until Felton.

Felton and Ren are probably my second favourite couple in this series.

No need to read in order. You can dip in and out.

Another recommended read from me 👍🏻

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. All of her RH relationships end up being heavily polyamorous – meaning it’s not just all the men for one woman. There’s also some M/M action going on. When she can’t fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center – and utterly swoon-worthy! Don’t ask her how many book boyfriends she has…

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don’t even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 16, 2024

In the fantastical realm of Asteria, where ancient bloodlines and magical allegiances govern the land, Leila, a blood mage with a complicated past, finds her fate intertwined with Ronan, the fierce warrior from the Crimson Clan. When an insidious plot by Prince Caelan of Eldwain threatens to destabilize all of Asteria, Leila must harness her formidable powers and confront secrets that could shatter the very foundations of her world.

Together, Leila and Ronan embark on a perilous journey through treacherous territories, from the Grasslands, Keldara, the Central Plains, to the deceptive courts of Eldwain, to safeguard their people and uphold ancient alliances. As battles rage and loyalties are tested, the pair must navigate a tapestry of intrigue and betrayal, where love may be their most powerful weapon or their ultimate undoing.

With the fate of Asteria hanging in the balance, Leila must decide if she can go against the man she once considered her best friend. In this epic tale of magic, love, and rebellion, only the strongest will survive to tell the tale of their victory—or their defeat.

REVIEW:Book three starts, where book two ended. And from then on, it’s a fast paced story of betrayal and action. Suitors descend upon Leila to pursue/force/persuade her to marry them! There is no love matches! It’s all to gain power over the Demon Fox. That character grants one wish. But to obtain that wish Leila has to 💀! All but Ronan are happy to sacrifice the princess in order to gain that wish! I did like the prologue in this book, it explains the story/legend of the Demon Fox.

The connection is still strong between Ronan and Leila (even though he did betray her!) I think her faith and trust actually helped him to become a better person.

Leila is growing into her power more and more. Which is why her blood is so sought after! But I also liked that each book Leila had so much to contend with, and with each book she just grows in confidence and experience.

You definitely need to read this trilogy in order, skipping a book won’t make much sense. The story grips you from the first page, and I must admit I did reread the first two books (a refresh and just because I loved the books.)

I also liked the fact we got different points of view. I didn’t warm to Ronan at first, but with each book he proves himself to be a worth companion to Leila. (But his father is definitely a piece of work!)

What a way to end this trilogy. I loved every minute of it. And will go back and read all three again at some point. The fight/battle scenes are intense. Might be a little triggering for a few people. The descriptions are on point, you can easily imagine yourself travelling through different landscapes, and meeting new allies and battling adversaries.

Highly recommended read 👍🏻
