ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date MAY 16, 2024

All it takes is just one look.

Adak

After a series of relationships where I’ve been made to feel inadequate because of my asexuality, I’ve made the sole focus of my life my coaching career. I love hockey – the chill of the ice, the fast paced, high stress game. I love the fans and the atmosphere. The energy. Now that I’m coaching in the NHL, I feel a sense of serenity and comfort with life. All that’s left is to get my team to The Stanley Cup.

A series of unfortunate injuries has riddled the Bobcats into a serious funk. The frustration that my boys feel echoes through me and after one of the most horrible plays I’ve ever witnessed, I turn my back on the ice – only to catch his eyes. Suddenly, I know what I’ve been missing. In a sea of over 15,000 faces, I found the one I’ve been waiting my entire life for.

There’s sadness in his eyes that’s only overcome with the fear behind it. Nothing will stop me from making Oren mine and giving him the life and love he deserves. Nothing.

Oren

My life is shit. I’m the pariah of my family for hell knows why. All I want is to get away. But I tried once – at nineteen, I ran and my father with his buddies on the police force dragged me home. I’ve since been dragged down into submission.

But then I meet his eyes and everything inside me just… shifts. Adak takes a chance on me and I think that perhaps my father has finally met a wall he can’t barrel through to keep control. That is, until he starts blasting his hate everywhere.

I wouldn’t blame Adak if he chooses to leave. This is his career on the line. His image and reputation. Am I worth it?

•••••••

REVIEW:I was hoping for a better story this time as I wasn’t too keen on the last one!

This one I loved, we got the hockey side (which I missed in the last one) we got a few little steamy moments. But it was the connection between Oren and Adak that I adored.

Adak is an ice hockey coach. We’ve met him a couple of times in previous books. It’s not necessary to read the previous ones as they all stand on their own. It was just great that he finally got a story.

He loves the game, his team and the fans that come out to support the team week in and week out.

But he’s lonely, he has a loving family, but he wants what his nephew has with his new husband. He wants a connection to another soul…. Past partners have put pressure on Adak to bend to their needs and make him feel guilty when he doesn’t conform to what society thinks is normal.

I love meeting new characters, I like that it’s not always about the s€x. The author has shown us that love comes in many shapes and forms like humans do. Just because you love someone differently, doesn’t make it wrong.

Oren had me in the first page. His home life is horrid. A father that controls every aspect of his life…. From the clothes he wears to the food he eats. From the job he should be doing (luckily Oren stuck to his principles on that one!) to the friends he should have. He was verbally beaten down, until Oren had nowhere or no one to turn to!! Even his brothers joined with the verbal beat down!! 😔

Fate, or whatever you want to call it put Oren in Adak’s sights. And from then on it gave Oren the strength to fight for what he wanted. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t pretty, in fact reading parts of the struggle to gain his freedom had me in tears and shouting at my kindle!! His confidence was nonexistent, his self worth was at an all time low. He constantly questioned himself, and had nothing but anxiety when around his family.

It also gave Adak the partner he deserved. One who loved him just the way he was, didn’t expect anything but love/cuddles and understanding.

This book does have triggers. This book is hard going (but sooooo worth the effort) and this book is now my second favourite in the series (Rakesh and Egon will always have my number one position) I just loved how they grew stronger after each incident. I chuckled at the most inappropriate times, and smiled at all the cuddling within this book.

Slow burn ? 🤔 almost borders on the sweet side. But it’s a great read, and one I’m highly recommending. 🫶🏻👌🫶🏻

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 16, 2024

The only thing I admire more than the old farmhouse next door is the guy who owns it. My best friend’s brother.

I didn’t mean to give my hot neighbor a full peep show when my puppy locks me outside in nothing but a towel. Yet Austen Knight pretends he didn’t see everything and offers me an interior design job—help him renovate the farmhouse I’ve adored since I was a kid.

I’m a single mom trying to run a business in a small town. I can’t be alone with Austen day in and day out without igniting rumors that could hurt the career I’ve worked so hard for. But I need the money, and he’s leaving after the house is done and goes on the market.

Turns out, renovating with him is fun. Working with him is addicting. And I look forward to our cold beer together after a long day. When works turns to pleasure, I should put a stop to what we’re doing, it’s not professional, but I can’t.

Austen reignites something in me that I left behind long ago. He’s become so much more than my friend’s brother and my neighbor, but he’s going to be gone soon. Guys always leave in the end. I’ll be a struggling single mom again, and he’ll be nothing but a fearless memory.

••••••

REVIEW:Friends to lovers. Best friends brother. Not always my favourite genres, but I do love this series and this author always writes a good book, so here we go…..

Both points of view are in this book, and that’s something I really like to read.

Austen Knight hasn’t had much to say in the previous books. But his presence is felt in this one. Not a grumpy reclusive character I was expecting. He’s funny, charming and a thoughtful character. But he’s not going to stay forever, once the house he’s living in is remodelled he’s leaving again!

We’ve seen Vienne is previous books, so I was glad she finally got a story. Vienne is working hard at building her career. She loves her interior designing business, it’s been hard but rewarding. If only she could put her feelings in a box for Austen and bury them, it would be so much easier working for him! She doesn’t need gossip about them sabotaging her business. And anyway what’s the point in getting attached, he won’t be around forever?!

Whilst dancing around each other and their feelings, Austen really helps her with her confidence, she’s unsure about her choice of business, unsure about herself and just a bag of indecision all round. And in return Vienne has helped Austen with his issues concerning his childhood (not going to say too much as I think it’s part of the story.) They are great together and really complement each other, but with the elephant in the room (Austen’s imminent departure) neither want to commit to anything more than a little fun…..
But if gossips find out about them, then how will the town view her? Will she lose the business she’s been working so hard to build?

So can Austen stay? Can Vienne make a go of her business?
And can we have Eliot’s book soon 😜

Another great story about a family who never seem to have a shortage of people to chat about. A little angst, a few naughty 😜 scenes and when we finally get down to business 🥵 wow!

So do you need to read in order? No, not really, they all stand on their own pretty well, there are few people we e met before pop in and out, but if you’ve not read them before it won’t detract from the story. But I’ve read and loved them all, and at some point I’m going back from the beginning to reconnect.

Grab the book, you won’t be sorry.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 23 2024

Step into 1830s London as a lady gets her second-chance Season!

Determined to stay a spinster

For her second Season!

When an unexpected windfall gives Lady Margaret the chance for another Season, she relishes the opportunity to see her friends again, including Julian Randall, Earl of Atherton. She has no need to find a husband, and widower Julian has sworn off the marriage mart, so escorting each other is the perfect platonic arrangement. Until a new, exhilarating attraction simmers between them—one this respectable spinster is forbidden from indulging in…isn’t she?

••••••

REVIEW:You can always rely on a good story from this author, her descriptive narrative and characters will have you reading until the last page is read 😊

Lady Margaret d’Aubignon created a scandal when she publicly refused a suitor her father had chosen for her (it was one of his friends!) so she was sent to the countryside. But unbeknownst to her father, her brother had invested her inheritance, and she now had more than enough money to be independently wealthy. Returning back to the city without her fathers support is something Margret is ecstatic about. Catching up with her friends is something she’s looking forward to.

A friends to lovers read that has all the historical information and (Slow burn) romance that I come to expect from the author.

So will this friendship with no “benefits” become more?

Margret has her escort for the correct society requirements, they can laugh and chat without having to worry that it’s a courtship. But doesn’t that negate the society’s reason for being? It’s to find a husband surely? And what if Julian’s needs for a wife? Being around Margret all the time must stifle his chances of a bride? Well actually no, being a widower gives him breathing space, he can use the sadness he still feels about his wife to avoid the marriage trap (for a while at least.)

Julian never felt real emotion for his wife, and that’s something he struggles with, along with his two sons, but feelings for his “friend” Margret has him thinking that marriage the second time around might be easier. But how to broach the subject without frightening his friend away has him in a quandary!

This is the third book in the series, it’s not necessary to read the other two before this one, but there is a series of events that occur in the three books that might be a little confusing.

I liked both Margret and Julian, they had a depth of character that pulls you into the story. The friendship that slowly turns into something else.

There is a little angst and a little betrayal, but I think it adds a little something to the book, otherwise it’s just another historical romance.

If you love your historical romance with marvellous characters and a good storyline, then give this book a look. You won’t be disappointed.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 2, 2024

Standing in front of a dragon means dying by fire, but the heart knows there’s more than one way to burn.

Humans and dragons are at war, and I am a pawn in the battle.

Princess of a dying land, my life is not my own, and a marriage to a vicious, dragon-hunting prince will save my people from deadly famine or death by fire.

But before I can vow my life to a monster, dragons drop screaming from the sky with a single aim. End the alliance. Kill me. I welcome the flames, relieved to burn instead of rot.

But the flames never come.

One look in the dragons’ eyes, and they carry me away. Three dragons whose gaze burns with hunger and fills me with fire.

They’re not what we were taught, and every passing day I learn more of the truth. Dragons are not the enemy we thought they were.

Still, one question remains: for centuries no one has stood before a dragon and survived. If these dragons were sent to kill me, why am I still alive?

•••••

REVIEW:Another trilogy by an author who is becoming a one click for me. Why choose and shifters, what more could a reader ask for 😉

Lena is to be married off to a neighbouring kingdom to form an alliance against the dragons! The only good dragon is a 💀 dragon! That’s how she’s been raised! But meeting her future husband has Lena in a panic! He’s not a polite prince that he pretends to be, in fact he’s a villain (and one you don’t want to be redeemed!)

Meeting the trio of dragons, Zovai, Sirius and Endre has Lena rethinking most of the teachings she was brought up with. And even the dragons are baffled with what they know from the elders.

I really liked how we got to read all of the main characters points of view. The plot had me reading until late into the night, in fact I finished the book in one day.

Not happy about the cliffhanger. And that cute baby dragon, Vari (that must have given her a clue that something was amiss?)

So….. wedding day approaches and Lena is lead to the altar. But before the vows are exchanged, the dragons swoop in. Lena realises she’s the target and prepares to meet her fate 💀, but that doesn’t happen….

Zovai, Sirius and Endre have been charged with killing Lena. The elders don’t want the kingdoms banding together, so to show the humans who is boss, the elders decree Lena must 💀!! So what stops that from happening? You’ll need to read the book to find out 😜

Yes, it’s a little predictable. Yes, although trust needs to be earned you know they will all be ok. But with the stories this author writes, it’s not that simple. Miscommunication and betrayal have Lena and the dragons not trusting one another. What are the elders hiding? And are the dragons really the enemy that Lena was led to believe?

There are triggers, and my advice is to visit the website and read them before grabbing this book.

Also be aware there is a huuuuuuuge cliffhanger (that was what i expected) so hoping the next book is out soon, because I need to know what happens next.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 23, 2024

How do you stop someone else’s wedding? The Duke of Richmond and Lady Catherine Campbell are about to find out!

Heaven help him from meddling spinsters…
The last thing Carlton Coleman, the Duke of Richmond, needs is Lady Catherine Campbell picking fights with his bouncers and rampaging through the halls of his peaceful gentleman’s club looking for her brother. When Carlton finds out the young earl has eloped with his naïve young ward, he offers to escort the stubborn spinster to Gretna Green to stop the wedding before it’s too late.

Heaven help her from arrogant dukes…
Catherine is so worried about her brother that she is willing to do anything to bring him home, even accompanying the cavalier duke. Her heart clenches with concern for her impulsive brother, knowing the possible consequences of his rash actions.

Will they be able to stop the wedding in time? Thrown together by misunderstandings, mishaps, and a mysterious puppy named Riggs—Carlton and Catherine set off on a wild ride through the craggy countryside, facing possible danger and unpredictable weather as they navigate through both the treacherous terrain of the countryside and the tumultuous landscape of their own hearts.

••••••

REVIEW: Multiple authors have come together to write this series. I’ve not read any of the others, and I don’t think it really matters, this book stands on its own without reading previous books.

When Lady Catherine Campbell shows up at the Carlton Club looking for her missing twin brother, Carlton soon discovers much to his dismay that the young man has eloped with his ward Serafina.

Carlton Coleman Duke of Richmond is a confirmed bachelor and proud of the fact. He doesn’t want a simpering little wallflower, oh no. He wants a woman that will stand beside him and help him through life. But what with his mothers help (or over zealous help!) and running the estate, he doesn’t have much time to look for a wife!

Lady Catherine Campbell only wants to protect her brother, losing both their father and older brother has Catherine on the overprotective side!

Carlton offers to escort Catherine to Greta Green to stop the wedding. Through mishaps and weather that wasn’t on their side they hurry up to Scotland to stop a wedding that could be disastrous for both families!

Spending time with one another has them thinking that neither is truly terrible! But they can’t think of their feelings, well not until they get to Grena Green…..

So can they stop the wedding? Do they want to stop the wedding?

It’s a short, but fun read. Carlton and Catherine were oil and water! I didn’t see how they would survive the trek across country, let alone a relationship!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 19, 2024

If you’re looking for Eli’s happy ever after, you’re in the right place!

Lyra’s life hasn’t been all sunshine and roses, she knows what it means to be alone after losing her parents at a young age. Witnessing the devastation her mother experienced after losing her bonded Alphas made one thing clear to Lyra. Scent matching isn’t for her.

No archaic rules or a fluke of biology is going to tell her who to love. Not now and not ever. Friendship, compatibility, and hard work are the best way to find people to spend your life with. But all of it means nothing when her pack meets their scent matched Omega. Suddenly Lyra wasn’t wanted. Thrown out of their lives and completely alone, Lyra is forced to start over—again.

When a job offer in a city where no one knows her name seems too perfect to be true, Lyra jumps on it. Really, who would turn down the chance to be an executive assistant at one of the most powerful companies in the country. Getting away from the pack who broke her heart was just an added bonus.

But her first encounter with the person she’d been hired to work for doesn’t go as planned. Her new boss… is one of her Alpha scent matches. This brings Lyra face to face with the past she’s been running from her entire life. The more she lets them in, the more Lyra realizes she might be wrong—wrong about everything.

Maybe scent matches aren’t just a fluke. Maybe they’re the only thing that matters.

•••••••••

REVIEW:I haven’t read the first two books in this series, and I don’t think I missed much, (they are about a different set of characters, but Eli is in books one and two) but at some point I’m going back to read them.

Mental health issues can sometimes be glossed over or dramatised. In this book we get it done right.

Lyra really doesn’t know what to do next! Her pack doesn’t want her, she can’t go back to her parents (sadly they died when she was young!) and watching her mother lose the will to live (she lost her mates) so when offered a job in a different town, Lyra takes it.

Let’s meet the rest of the characters….

Eli (Alpha) bonded to Lyra and now looking at a new pack to bond with…. He owns the company Lyra started to work for. And apparently he was in the last two books (definitely a reason to go look)

Tanner (Alpha) bonded to Fawn and Zachary (been with Zak a few years before adding more to the pack)

Fawn (Omega) bonded to Tanner/Pascal and Zachary, he’s Scent matched with Eli and now Lyra…

Zachary (Alpha) is the teddy bear of the family.

Pascal (Alpha) and oldest in the already established pack, bonded but doesn’t have a physical relationship with any of the members (until Lyra)

I loved how they all interacted with one another, and all the nicknames that are given (Sweet Pickle King is a favourite, I did chuckle when first given to the character

Being with a scent matched omega is a gift as far as an Alpha is concerned, but to be given two omegas and a new pack is more than most Alphas dream about. There is a period of adjustment for everyone, and miscommunication almost ends the bonding before it even begins!
Taking it slow and steady as to not trigger Lyra (she has PTSD from her traumatic childhood experience) they are all so patient with her. And they all know about traumatic pasts, each alpha and omega have been through their own experiences (stripper/changing careers through injury, to name but a few)

Wasn’t expecting the cliffhanger…. Maybe if I’d read book one and two I might have been prepared 😆(they aren’t tied to this book) and now I have to wait patiently to find out what happens next.

I really like this author and the books she writes. there is a lot going on in this book, it touches on quite a few topics (so check the trigger warnings) A highly recommended read if you love your Omegaverse books.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 18, 2024

It’s time to score.

Zak

When you fight for so long, sometimes it’s just easier to give in. I want to give in to the god before me. Sent to me from the heavens, Owen is the very definition of divine perfection. But he doesn’t know my truth. If he did, he’d know that I don’t belong in his world.

The shame of seeing the disgust on his face when he figures it out keeps me running from him. Even though fate or destiny or something cruel keeps throwing us together. Maybe he’s the motivation I need to get my shit in order.

But can I do it before he figures out I’m nothing but a street rat?

Owen

The person who was made for me turns up at the New Year’s Eve party I didn’t want to go to. We’ve been serendipitously thrown together a handful of times since and though I know Zak wants me, he keeps walking out my door and refusing to call.

I can’t figure out why and it’s driving me insane. When I can’t take it anymore, I chance him thinking that I’m a stalker and show up at the address I dropped him off at last. Zak doesn’t live there but I finally learn his secret.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to convince Zak that I’ll give him the world if he’ll let me. Should be as easy as winning that elusive Stanley Cup.

••••••

REVIEW:Reading the blurb had me wondering if this would be as good as the rest of the series. Let me tell you it was, it took me a little longer than usual to warm up to the characters, but as usual the author puts so much into these stories, it’s hard not to fall in love with them and their story.

Zak hasn’t got two cents to rub together, sleeping on his friends couch and ducking into parties that he can’t afford! He’s not lazy, he wants a better life for himself, but as a struggling fashion designer, he knows he’s never going to make it big! He just needs motivation or a chance….

Owen is a god amongst his peers (well that’s what all the media says!) he’s loved and lived his best life to the fullest so far. But not having anyone to share it is becoming boring. But people are only usually nice to him because of his status.

Fate puts them in the right place. And are struck by how right they are together, but Zak can’t get past the fact they are from two different worlds …. Owen has money behind him, and Zak feels he just isn’t good enough to be with Owen! I loved Owen such a caregiver. He never let Zak think any less of himself. If he could he would have given him the world.

The angst comes mainly from Zak, his inability to let go of his inadequacies, not thinking more of himself. Owen never gives up, but it does get a little close at times!

And seeing Orson again 😊 that brings back happy memories, and a few of the other characters have books (look them up and give them a read, you won’t be sorry 😉)

So can Owen convince Zak to give them a chance? Or will Owen not be able to give his trust and love to the only man who will love him back unconditionally?

Again another original story that will have you thinking of Owen and Zak long after you put them down.

They’re mates who shouldn’t be. If Ella can’t get Gideon out of her head, she’ll lose her career. He’ll be damned if a human negates his fire.

Can they deny what destiny has in store for them? Challenging fate may have worse consequences than they ever imagined.

REVIEW:Another new author for me 😉 and a shifter book (one of my favourite reads) so I’m well happy 😊

Ella, has a strong personality who takes no messing from anyone. She values her work and has worked hard to get where she is now. It might be a family owned business, but didn’t do her any favours. She loves her job (the one thing that puzzled me though… it’s family run, but hardly any of her family wander through or are mentioned!)

Gideon is a dragon shifter. He has the reputation of being a bad boy, but it didn’t really come across that way (well I didn’t to me 🤷🏻‍♀️) He loves his job. He make’s jewellery for the family run business. (Now this is where it differs from Ella, we meet, and hear about his family all the time 🤔)

I liked how the author (through Gideon) explains how the shifter community works. How they shift/meet other dragons and how they live in general, (they are governed by a dragon council) We got the information in a way that wasn’t just an information dump (you get some authors just unload too much too soon!)

Meeting leads to obvious chemistry between Ella and Gideon. One thing leads to another…. The bedroom scenes are spicy 🥵 but there aren’t too many (lately all I’ve been reading is no plot and lots of $ex, it gets a little monotonous)

Did make me roll my eyes when they decided they weren’t going to be together, they wanted to continue their own lives separately. It’s good to have conflict, it’s ok to make them realise they will be happier together. (Nothing worse than no drama) but both Gideon and Ella got a little whiny (that is me skipping a few pages)

I loved Felicity, Ella’s friend/roommate, she’s an absolute blast. Witty and totally out there, but we all need a friend like that. Some of the stuff she comes out with had me chuckling.

So when an opportunity arises that could end they’d bond, will they take it? or will they finally realise what they have really is special?
Storyline is fairly original and straightforward. Characters are well thought out.

It’s descriptive without wasting pages. A recommended read if you like your shifter stories. I’d love Felicity to get a story, that would a fun read.
