ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 12, 2024

If they want his immortality—they’ll have to take it…

I’m used to other wolves coming for me. They want their chance to try and take out the infamous Gray Wolf. And every single one of them fails—because lone wolves aren’t like the others…we’re stronger. Harder. Meaner. Immortal.

But it also means I’m alone. No pack. No alpha. Just the three of us—white, gray, and black. Two too many, if you ask me.

But with power-hungry mages gunning for us, I don’t have the luxury of reflection. They’re in New York City, and I Will. Hunt. Them. Down.

Which is when I see her, and every cell in my body is on alert, filled with the kind of primal longing I never knew I was capable of. Luna West may be human, but there’s some kind of thread connecting us. Call it destiny, fate…or voracious animal hunger.

I know she’s bait. She’s meant to tempt me, to make me weak. But even if I could resist her, I’m not sure I want to.

Because I’ve never denied my wolf anything…especially the chance to raise some serious hell.

And I’m not about to start now.

REVIEW:Alone at fifteen after become the legendary Lone Gray Wolf, Kade has lived the solitary life. At times it pleased him, but after becoming bored with nameless encounters Kade keeps to himself. It’s hard when wolf packs look at you with fear, and humans know there is something dangerous about you.

But after being contacted by the White Wolf. Kade is on the lookout for a certain person….

Legend has it there is only one wolf living until it dies then another will take its place. The job of the Lone Wolf is to patrol the wolf packs and take out the rogues that threaten there the exposure to the humans. But in this time and place there are three!! Why?

The White/Gray/Black Wolves don’t like or trust one another, but after finding out they aren’t on their own the White wolf reached out to both black and Gray, only Kade has replied so far, neither have heard back from the Black wolf yet!

Kade is in New York after his inner voice (or as Kade likes to think it’s his wolf) leads him here. He’s found his prey, he just has to make contact and work out if she’s an innocent or part of the plot to claim his immortality!

Luna has lived on her own since eighteen, but truth be told she’s been on her own a lot longer….. Her parents are a famous actress and film director, so don’t have time to play happy families. Her only solace from the loneliness is her art. Her drawings and paintings give her comfort and joy, previous relationships have been brief (they complain she spends too much time with her art!)

When Kade and Luna meet, it’s like two magnets beings drawn together, no one exists but them….

Her wolf from her childhood is actually Kade! But how? She’s drawn and painted the wolf so many times, and her dreams never showed him in human form.

Connected now (although Kade still doesn’t trust Luna fully) they are on the run from forces that want him dead! And Luna maybe become a casualty!

Fast paced and full of action. And the romance is at a medium burn.

You don’t really need to read the first book, but as it’s a trilogy and an ongoing story, it’s probably a good idea to read it, I haven’t, but I’ll probably go back and read it as I really enjoyed the book.

So can Luna and Kade evade the witch and her protector long enough to work out who it is, what they want and how to combat it? But more importantly can Luna and Kade stay together if they survive? As Luna is human and Kade is an immortal wolf…..

Three angels. One assassin. She’s fighting for her life, but they’re fighting for her heart.

I was born for two things: To kill, and to be a queen.

Trained as an assassin since birth, I’ve destroyed Hell’s enemies one by one. Now my throne is so close I can taste it.

One more assignment. One more seduction. One trail of broken bodies to lead me to my crown.

Three archangels can’t be that hard to kill, right?

Turns out, I’ve never been more wrong.

And this mistake? It will cost me everything.

••••••

REVIEW:I’ve not read the original version, so I have nothing to compare it with. But I do like the authors other series (based in an Omegaverse)

This is a why choose book and three book series. I’m aware of the cliffhanger, and I know my triggers…..

Queen of Darkness starts at a fast pace and continues at that pace till the cliffhanger ending….

The main character, Arielle has had such a terrible past and her present isn’t all that great either!! She’s been attacked physically and mentally and remodeled into a role that her father wanted her to be…

Arielle is a vessel for the infernal flame which is potentially the next ruler of the underworld! But it’s not an easy throne to obtain, task after task is thrown at Arielle, and she completes each and every one. Arielle doesn’t enjoy her tasks of killing, but the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about!

And now she’s been assigned the job of killing three archangels, she knows she’s good at her job, so she’s confident it won’t be hard…. So technically she’s on the side of evil? She has to kill to survive (does that make her bad?)

Cassian is an archangel, not sure why he’s in hell. And to be honest, he’s not my favourite character, he was hard to get to know. He taught Arielle to fight, he’s trained her hard, but there are feelings between them, both want more, but both understand they can’t have that! Malakai (Kai) Atlas and Solomon are known as the Trinity. And are on the side of good.

I liked the concept of this book. If angels fall they usually have turned evil, but not in this book. The struggle they face makes you want to read more of them and I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it.

Arielle really struggles with choosing the deaths of Solomon/Atlas/Kai or having the thing she most wants. You want her to choose the three archangels, but you’ve also watched her become more, so I wanted her to have both. But how do you choose between something that you have worked towards your entire life and the freedom that you’ve always wanted, or to finally be seen as the person you are and be loved.

What will be the consequences for choosing one over the other?

Highly recommend this book. And now I’m off to find the next book.

Oh…. And the cliffhanger…. That I did not see coming!!! ?

She sacrificed everything to save them. Now they’ll risk it all to save her.

Betrayal has consequences, and the price is my life.

Tortured every day for my betrayal, I’d choose it again if it meant the angels I love are safe. No matter the cost.

I don’t deserve their rescue, but my angels come for me anyway, risking the entire world to save my life.

Even though I’m free, Hell will never stop hunting me, and never stop trying to destroy Heaven. We have to end this.

But ending the war means going back to Hell once again, and this time, I may never come back.

••••••

REVIEW:If you thought the first book was good, then be prepared to be blown away by the next one.

You definitely need to read the first book Queen of Darkness before reading this one….

I’ll try not to give anything away, but this book does carry on from the first. Characters roles are fleshed out and we are given more details about the trinity, Arielle and Cassian.

The action doesn’t stop, and it was hard putting down. There is betrayal/passion and a few twists.

It shows us that good people can do bad things and vice versa. Arielle might have been brought up bad, but that doesn’t mean she wants to continue being bad!

I thought Arielle was a great character, she’s being constantly bombarded and bullied. But she refuses to become the weapon her father wants her to be….

I liked how Solomon/Atlas/Kai sought to forgive her and show her it was ok to want more. They are there for her, and that’s why it’s so hard for her to forgive herself and the actions she chose in the previous book.

I can’t wait to see where the third and final book takes us.

Queen of Annihilation
War of Heavenly Fire 3
by Devyn Sinclair
Re-Release Date: January 1, 2024
Genre: adult, paranormal, fantasy

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

They gave up everything for each other. Now they’ll give up everything to save the world.

I tried to end the war and failed.

Hell has a new queen. One obsessed with ending my life and the lives of my lovers. She will stop at nothing.

My angels and I are on the run, and nowhere is safe to hide. But the fate of the world is in our hands.

We unleashed Hell, and have no other choice but to destroy it.

I am the only one who can.

We have one last chance to defeat our enemies, or face our own annihilation.

••••••

REVIEW: With this being the third and final book in the trilogy, I was keen to see how it would play out. You definitely need to read the books in order before getting to this one.

Nissa (who is Arielle’s sister) now rule’s Hell! How did that happen? (You’ll need to read books one and two) and she’s out to end her sister and the men she’s fallen in love with!

All pieces fall into place and we get answers to questions I had in books one and two. But I did wonder if Arielle could win against her sister ?

The battle for good against evil was really well balanced. But the author never loses sight of the balancing battles with the plot. We get both written really well.

I liked that Arielle doesn’t immediately forgive and forget her past indiscretions, she battles with her conscience throughout the book. And even if the men she is now with have forgiven her, it’s not an easy thing for her to do!

So, the final battle with Nissa. Which way will it go? Will Arielle still choose the right side? Will the Trinity finally bond with her?

I’ve loved all three of these books, but I have to admit this is my favourite.

So if you like your heroine with a battle on her hands and the love of more than one male ? then this trilogy is for you.

A highly recommended read ??

ABOUT THE BOOK: January 25, 2024

Wishes on a star just don’t come true.

I used to believe in fairy tales, but I’ve kissed far too many frogs that never turn into Prince Charming. The glass slipper never fits. I’m always the ugly step-sibling; never the princess. They’re the same crushing blows every time.

When will you grow out of this phase?

Why can’t you be normal for once?

This was cute but now you’re just embarrassing me.

Why is it so difficult to accept that I like myself the way I am? With my pretty dresses, pastel tattoos, and sparkly nail polish, I like to feel beautiful.

All I want is my happily ever after. To be cherished and adored and loved for who I am. I desperately want to find my forever person.

Why am I always left with a broken heart instead?

REVIEW:Sad to see this mini series end as I’ve loved every book.

But what a way to finish a series. This book was never meant to be written, but I’m so glad it was.

Vulcan was never meant to have a story, but I’m so glad he did. He was a side character that fell in love with and wanted him to have a happy ending.

He’s described as a huge walking teddy bear, he’s also covered in tattoos. But he’s not your usual bearded/tattooed giant. Oh no, Vulcan is a gentle giant who loves to dress in skirts, sparkly tops and his tattoos are all pastel coloured. His best friend loves him for who he is and reminds him of this on a daily basis. Because not everyone gets Vulcan’s sense of fashion. He’s had dates and relationships that start ok, then after a while they want him to change, to leave the “fad” behind and be “normal”. Vulcan won’t change for no one, but it does dim his sparkle for a while ?

So when he meets a stranger in a queue and he comments on his attire and tattoos, Vulcan doesn’t hear the positive only the negative….

Luca can’t believe what is in front of his eyes… A beautiful man covered in pastel tattoos and a cute skirt and top. Now Luca loves big men, and he’s instantly smitten with this man, he needs to know his name and is he single.

This is a insta love for Luca. It takes longer for Vulcan to believe him and trust it won’t disappear.

Wren/Zvi/Oscar are already a family, but they’ve come to know the signs when Luca has a new obsession. It’s been Oscar and Luca forever, then they both bring in a new partner into the fold. But Wren and Zvi are feeling a little insecure, does that mean a new addition or will one (or both) have to leave?

This story will stay with me for a long time, it’s different from most stories I’ve read. It has role playing moments that were sweet if not a little cheesy (i did chuckle out loud at those parts).

Children were just so darn cute. They were brought up in the family by all the men (the females that gave birth didn’t have a huge role in the book!)

It’s a book and series that I recommend highly. You don’t need to read the previous ones to enjoy this. But characters from the said books do make appearances.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 4, 2024

I thought I knew where I belonged. That I had found my happily ever after. Looking back, I was really just blissfully unaware of how unhealthy my family was.

Now I’m wandering the world, trying to find my place. Trying to heal my broken heart from a fate that no one could have predicted. The crushing blow was served to me by those who were supposed to love and support me for the rest of my life. That was the promise.

In the place I least expect it, I find solace. Companionship. And a fear so chilling, I’m frozen in place as everything is once again ripped from my hands.

My name is Iskander. All I want is to save the people who have claimed my fractured heart before it breaks for a second and final time.

•••••

REVIEW: Can’t think of a better way than starting my new year with one of my favourite author’s.

This book can be read on its own, but I’d recommend read at least the previous book. But as this this a great series why not start from the beginning…..

After meeting and falling for someone, for his family to reject him (and showing their true colours) Iskander is now on a journey to find not only himself, but answers to questions, and to maybe find a family that want him no matter…

This series is continually evolving and I love it. Yes it’s a #whychoose story, but it doesn’t revolve around just one person finding their pack, it’s got relationships within the family. It’s also heavy on MM (which I like) which I think this author has found her niche ?

Whilst travelling Iskander find families that are happy, and are happy to chat to Iskander, which compounds his belief that he did the right thing in leaving his family. And when he thinks he’s going to grow old alone, he meets the Kallan family. They show him the real meaning of family. Can he really trust his feelings? And what will he do when his new family disappears?

I just love this series, just when you think we can’t go any further, the author proves us wrong. The secret society OKRA are proving to be a vile and underhanded society, the things they’ve done to bring down the monsters (the only true monsters are the society itself!) The story tells of not settling for second best, to hold out for the happiness your deserved. And family doesn’t always mean blood.

It’s great that the houses in previous books are here to help. But can Iskander find his new family before the society claim another family?

It’s a highly recommended read from me. And if you haven’t read the previous books in the series, what are you waiting for?

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 8, 2023

Lilliane’s world is a fortress of secrets and chosen bonds. Her ‘Team of Eight’ isn’t just a close-knit group; they’re her found family, safeguarding her against shadowy global threats. Amidst this protective circle, a dark presence lingers – Azrael. This mysterious entity whispers from the depths of her mind, guiding her in a relentless fight against evil.

Lili is a beacon of hope for the innocent in this high-stakes game. Her mission? To thwart Abrams, a formidable adversary whose reign of terror over the vulnerable must end. But her path is riddled with obstacles, not least of which is the frustrating bureaucracy of the agency that constantly impedes her progress.

As Lili navigates this treacherous landscape, she faces a personal dilemma. The stirrings of a new love beckon, offering a chance to heal old wounds. But just as she opens her heart, echoes of a troubled past resurface, threatening to shatter her newfound hope.

The Ledger is at the heart of her journey, a symbol of the wrongs she aims to right. But as she crosses out each entry marked in red, Lili is forced to confront a critical question: What matters more, the mission or the people who stand with her in solidarity?

Join Lili in a gripping tale of loyalty, love, and the relentless pursuit of justice.

••••••

REVIEW:It’s always a gamble when you decide to try a new author. But I’m glad I did, Jodee Jean Daniels writes a great story. It took me a little while to work everyone out in the book, a few of the characters have two identities. And there is a story behind how all the characters become involved with one another. It’s also told in all the main characters points of view (that’s where it gets a little confusing with all the voices going on in your head!)

Liliane in my opinion is one of the most kicka$$ female characters I’ve read in a long time. Bounty hunter/justice seeker/avenger. Call it what you like, she gets the job done when most other teams can’t. She doesn’t trust the government (she holds them responsible for her losing family members!)
She holds a ledger and within it are names she needs to cross off (you’ll find out more in the book) but when it becomes her sole focus she loses sight of her family and her loves. Can she find that balance? Or will the darkness finally consume her?

We have the villain of the book, he’s trying to create super soldiers (a little like Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalker series, which is an amazing series, a group of ordinary men turned into soldiers who are smarter/faster than normal soldiers) but in this book they are created at an infancy level!)

It’s a pretty fast paced book. Action and adventure, with a little romance thrown in. It’s really well written and cleverly thought out.

I liked all the different points of view going on, I liked that time and time again Lili was caught between a rock and a hard place, but she never really gave up. And her team of eight, I didn’t have a favourite as they just seemed to gel and merge as one entity, but they always had Lili’s back.

I’m hoping for a second book to this series as I’d like to see more adventures and adversaries for Lili and her eight to take on..

If you like action and adventure then give this book a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 14, 2023

The entire game can be determined by a lucky shot.

PrettyInLace

Even a gay athlete has an appearance to uphold. There are a handful out in every sport and while every trashy magazine wants to get the scoop on what the gays are up to, looking for a scandal and a way to ruin us, every one of us is constantly on our best behavior. Acting a certain way; dressing a certain way; speaking a certain way.

If the world knew the real me, it’d shudder. Lace. Pearls. Dresses. Collars. All I want is to be someone’s pretty little doll that they dress up and tell me how pretty I am. I want to be loved for the real me; not the image I’m forced to show to the world just so I can keep my spot on the ice.

The only place I find that escape is in an online role playing game where I can be the sexy femme mage and get my flirt on. Find the man of my dreams.

And I do. He’s a big, hot druid ready to sweep me off my feet. Now if only I could find the courage to tell him who I am and trust that he won’t share it with the rest of the world. I’m not ready to end my career yet.

DemiDefenseKip

I’m known for my defensive plays. Aggressive. Precise. Quick. Strong. On the ice, I’m an icon that the world loves to put on a pedestal and worship. I’ve carefully cultivated everything about my public appearance to capitalize on my short career. Considering I’m a noted ‘queer athlete’ – a title that never strays too far from any article – I’m truly living a charmed life.

What the world doesn’t know is that it’s not just my sexuality that makes having a relationship in the spotlight difficult. It’s also because I’m demisexual. Finding someone interested in me and not my jersey or bank balance has proven especially challenging.

So how does someone with a recognizable face the world over find love? If you figure it out, let me know.

REVIEW:You think you’ve read your favourite book by this author. Then she throws another contender into the ring.

I absolutely loved this one, and didn’t put it down until I finished it….

Noah and Elixon (Lix) have known each other for a few years. A nod or a “how are you?” have really been their only form of communication.Noah is a great hockey player, but sometimes feels like they only see his face! He’s tired of being called “pretty” he is well aware of what he looks like, he just wants someone to notice him, and to dress him up….. Noah really wants to be someone’s treasured possession, for someone to see past his face and to get to know the real him…. And so far no luck!

Elixon (Lix to friends and family) might be a gay hockey player, but he hates the fact that people assume he’s always up for a one night stand! He’s selective in who he spends time with, but unless he makes an emotional connection with someone, Elixon just isn’t interested. So if Elixon and Noah know of each other through their sport, why haven’t they hooked up before? And this is where this book is different from the rest of the hockey romances I’ve been reading recently.

They meet online…. Nope, not a dating app, but a Role Playing Game. You create a character, do challenges and basically have fun and do stuff you wouldn’t do in the real world. They meet, they hang out, they accept and do challenges together, and along the way find out about one another, whilst remaining anonymous.

Both Noah and Elixon spend every waking hour in this pretend world, they are both drawn to one another and tell each other their hopes/dreams and darkest desires. Whilst in the real world not having a clue they’ve just spent time with one another (there are moments in the book that will have you laughing) The role playing game leads them to exchanging phone numbers, that lead to texting one another, that lead them into phoning each other. Until a date with a FaceTime meeting changes their whole relationship…..

Over the few months they’ve grown to love one another, and both Noah and Lix can’t wait to finally see each over….. So can you imagine their shock and surprise that they’ve literally known one another and not known who they were interacting with! So meeting up is just a matter of a plane flight away. But Noah can’t get his head around it, and is worried it will all fall apart once the hockey season begins again!

Can Lix convince Noah that what he feels for Noah is real, and it won’t go away?

I loved both Noah and Lix for different reasons. Their characters were so different from both one another and from characters I’ve read about. This author brings to life their struggles that happen in the real world. I got so excited when they finally saw each other for the first albeit over a FaceTime. And couldn’t wait for them to meet in person. The airport scene was so touching.

So another fantastic read from one of my favourite MM authors.

A highly recommended read from me.

Omegas are to be protected; to be kept safe. They’re not meant to work!

The world thinks that Omegas are only good for taking a knot and for their inevitable heats. They’re meant to be locked away from the world, unseen. They’re told tales about Omega’s being abducted and sold, forced to live every horror one can imagine.

With the help of my father—the lead scientist for a pharmaceutical company—I’ve managed to hide my designation since I was a small child. This has allowed me to live in the world without the prejudice, restrictions put on omegas ‘to keep them safe’, and to keep me from being hunted.

But I don’t want to be safe. Despite the danger, all I’ve ever wanted was to play hockey.

Because of the experimental drug cocktail, I’ve made it five years in the NHL. My name is known amongst hockey fans. I’m on billboards and cereal boxes. I have my own athletic brand. Not because I’m a precious omega, but because I’m an amazing athlete. Everything is going perfectly.

Until the medication suddenly stops working during the middle of a string of away games and I’m plunged into the beginnings of a heat. When my roommate walks in and finds me in my precarious situation, there’s no way he can miss my perfume filling the room.

What’s worse? We’ve already been toying with the boundaries of our friendship, hesitant to make the move to something more. The attraction between us is impossible to miss, but I have a secret. I’ve been in love with him since I was drafted to the team. The only thing that’s kept me away is the threat of him discovering my designation.

Now he knows, we’re a thousand miles from home, and I’m about to go into heat. There’s no way my team will miss me for a week or more, right?

I’m not even sure it matters. My secret’s out. One of his would-be packmates is a very angry threat to my future. If I’m exposed, I can kiss my career goodbye.

This is a polyamorous story (though it will be HEAVY mm) with content not intended for those under 18 years of age due to graphic scenes and situations

REVIEW: Hockey Romance wasn’t usually my thing, but I’ve jumped on the wagon (or ice ?) and read a few recently, including this author’s work. So I was looking forward to an Omegaverse story with ice. What I got was really a MM story on ice (and throw in a pack in waiting!)

Don’t get me wrong it’s a great story, but when you don’t really include the characters that aren’t meant to be added until later, and just and concentrate on just two, I left a little disappointed. (But only as I know how this authors Omegaverse works, but that my opinion)

Romy is a great ice hockey player, but he hides a secret, Romy is an omega! So! I hear you say, but when an omega is ONLY suppose to stay home and be protected and cared for, Romy is courting not only Alpha’s anger (it’s in an alpha’s nature to protect an omega) but he endangers himself as omega (they have been kidnapped/sold and just used and abused by alphas!) but his father knew Romy wanted to be a hockey player from an early age, he created a “vitamin” that suppressed urges/heats/scents that come with being an omega.

Emeryk is an alpha who loves his job as a goalie for his team. Now I liked he was a goalie and not the star goal scorer (so many have them in that role) but saying that he’s at the top of his game, not many puck’s get past him. He has a pack eating for him to retire, but Emeryk won’t call them a pack as he doesn’t want to lose any of them, (he’s heard of so many packs falling apart when one or more pack members are away from the rest of the pack) he loves them all dearly and they give him different things.

So they will patiently wait for him to retire.

Emeryk and Romy have skated (no pun intended) around their attraction for one another for years. Playing on the same team and having a relationship isn’t banned, but it can get awkward if they break up or get transferred. And that’s the excuse Romy uses with Emeryk, but he knows that if he gets involved with him, Romy will be found out and kicked off the team, but worse it will put him as an omega and he will have to retire (and he wants to retire when he wants to and not when he’s told!)

But when his “vitamin” fails and Romy goes into an early heat (he usually hides away in the off season to keep his omega traits hidden) all hell breaks loose, and Emeryk is drawn into helping Romy get to a hideaway…..

A female Omega goes into heat and that’s when she can become pregnant, male omegas are rare and can’t become pregnant (well not in this Omegaverse!) but suffer intense physical drives to mate. But Romy no longer wants nameless alphas to “knot” him (alphas have an addition to an appendage that all omegas want ?) he wants HIS alpha….. And so a tricky and complicated web is woven to protect Romy. But with all secrets that eventually come out….

His pack-in-waiting have to be told (and one alpha isn’t happy!) his team and coach have to be told (not everyone is happy there either!) then the media get a hold of it….. and Romy’s worse fears come alive!!!! The pack -in-waiting include Jen (beta) an alpha restauranteur and a trio of free spirited alphas complete this story. And although we hear and interact with them, we don’t get their point of views!

This book pulls no punches with your emotions! I loved the texts at the beginning of each chapter, I have chuckled at the most inappropriate times (bus/train/work! ?) It tells a story of injustice, of people not being able to do their own thing. A story of people being victimised and vilified for wanting more that their lot in life. It’s never black and white, there are so many shades of grey in between.

What had me on the edge of my seat and reaching for the tissues was the reaction of one alpha in Emeryk’s pack. That had me in total shock (but it’s great to read, it shows that sometimes things don’t always go as you plan, and the one person you thought had your back was the biggest hypocrite going!!)

It’s a great read, it’s also got a few appearances from characters from other books (if you haven’t read those then your not really going to know, nor do you need to read them in order to read this book.)

Another highly recommend and interesting read from one of my favourite mm #whychoose #omegaverse authors.

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. All of her RH relationships end up being heavily polyamorous – meaning it’s not just all the men for one woman. There’s also some M/M action going on. When she can’t fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center – and utterly swoon-worthy! Don’t ask her how many book boyfriends she has…

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don’t even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 30, 2023

I was looking for a job, not a Romeo… because everyone knows how that story ends.

I’ve got three hundred bucks left in my bank account, two jobs, and one final chance to make it as an actress in New York City.

After years of being a chorus girl, I arrive at my first Broadway audition for a leading role thinking I finally have a shot at making it…until I come face to face with the director, Holden James—the rich quarterback from college who broke my heart and stabbed me in the back three years ago.

But I’m not the same girl I was in college. And unlike three years ago, I now know just what—and who—I’m dealing with. This time, I know how to play the game. In this cutthroat business, I need to remember the truest theatrical lesson of all:

For never was a story of more woe… than this of Juliet and her Romeo.

Fans of Glee, Smash!, Ilsa Madden-Mills, and Max Monroe are binging this captivating new series that will leave you breathless!

REVIEW: Katana Collins is a new to me author, and I have to admit, I’ll be going back to see what else she has.

Kate is a girl down on her luck, even with the two jobs she works, she’s down to her last three hundred dollars! But that doesn’t stop her wanting her dream of becoming an actress…. And when she gets a chance to attend an audition to be a leading lady, Kate jumps at the chance….But it’s not going to be easy, the director of the show is non other than Holden James!

These two have a past together. (And apparently there is a prequel to this duet, I’ve not read it, but I think I’m going to go back and read it) and there is a messy breakup that broke Kate’s heart!

Kate is a great character, she’s strong and independent, and won’t let Holden destroy her like he did last time. And I have to admit I wanted her to make him grovel (a lot ?). Holden will frustrate you, have you rolling your eyes and then want him winning back Kate, (there are things from their past that will surprise you, and have you backing Holden to win back Kate.)

It has all the emotions in this book, it has heartbreak, angst, banter and a bucket load of chemistry. Their past is a complicated one, and you do have to wonder if Holden will actually win Kate back!

Cliffhanger ending, so be warned! But I want to know what happens, so I’ve made a note of when the next book is due out!

My shoulders go rigid. I have thirteen missed calls.Thirteen.

Most days, I get one or two calls tops… and they’re usually spam.

Not only do I have thirteen missed calls, but I have thirteen new voice messages. All from the same 516 area code.

I press play and hold the phone up to my ear.

Holden’s voice filters from the speaker. “Kate, it’s me. Look, we need to talk. I don’t want to have this conversation over the phone—”

She wasn’t exactly memorable back then. The echo of his voice roils my stomach, and I pull the phone away from my ear to look at the phone number he called from.

The same number as the other twelve messages—Holden’s number.

Holden called me thirteen times.

My breath catches. I haven’t known his number for years. I haven’t known how to reach him, despite the multiple pissed off speeches I’ve memorized through the years. Speeches I thought he’d never hear because I never had a way to contact him…

Until now.

The power of that makes my heart patter against my ribcage with the speed of a hummingbird’s wings.

It’s a power I shouldn’t be trusted with.

I delete the messages and shove my phone back deep into my pocket as Jill gives me a questioning glance. “Who was that?”

My throat tightens. She’s the one person I can’t lie to. “It was him.”

Her eyes go wide, filling with hope. “Maybe—”

“No,” I cut her off.

“You don’t even know what I was going to say!”

Curt finishes taking an order and scribbles some initials onto a cup, then thrusts it at me to make the iced matcha latte. I bend, retrieving the green powder from its container, and toss a scoop in the bottom of the cup.

“Fine,” I concede, uncapping the almond milk.

“What were you going to say?”

“Maybe he’s calling to offer you the part—”

“No,” I answer again, shoving the ice scoop into the bin.

“But how do you know?”

“I just do.” I dump the ice into the tea shaker, then push the lid on top. Giving it a good shake, I speak over the clatter. “If you’re being offered a role, the director isn’t the one who calls you. The casting director calls your agent. Then your agent calls you with the contracts that you comb through before there’s any formal acceptance.”

I hate the deflated look on Jill’s face. In some ways, she’s taking this even harder than I am.

Or I’m just that good at shutting off my emotions.

Which is the exact reason I didn’t get the part. Because Holden knows me too well. He knows I have trouble connecting, exposing my vulnerable side. Especially with him.

“The only reason Holden would call me himself is if I didn’t get the part, and he thinks this somehow makes him the hero to tell me in person.” I stare into the frothy light green beverage and snap the lid on top, avoiding Jill’s pitying stare.

A deep voice speaks up, resonating over the ambient noise of the coffee shop. “Maybe if you returned my calls, you’d know what the hell I wanted.”

My breath stalls halfway out of my lungs, and I snap my gaze up.

Holden.
