ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 30, 2023

I was looking for a job, not a Romeo… because everyone knows how that story ends.

I’ve got three hundred bucks left in my bank account, two jobs, and one final chance to make it as an actress in New York City.

After years of being a chorus girl, I arrive at my first Broadway audition for a leading role thinking I finally have a shot at making it…until I come face to face with the director, Holden James—the rich quarterback from college who broke my heart and stabbed me in the back three years ago.

But I’m not the same girl I was in college. And unlike three years ago, I now know just what—and who—I’m dealing with. This time, I know how to play the game. In this cutthroat business, I need to remember the truest theatrical lesson of all:

For never was a story of more woe… than this of Juliet and her Romeo.

Fans of Glee, Smash!, Ilsa Madden-Mills, and Max Monroe are binging this captivating new series that will leave you breathless!

REVIEW: Katana Collins is a new to me author, and I have to admit, I’ll be going back to see what else she has.

Kate is a girl down on her luck, even with the two jobs she works, she’s down to her last three hundred dollars! But that doesn’t stop her wanting her dream of becoming an actress…. And when she gets a chance to attend an audition to be a leading lady, Kate jumps at the chance….But it’s not going to be easy, the director of the show is non other than Holden James!

These two have a past together. (And apparently there is a prequel to this duet, I’ve not read it, but I think I’m going to go back and read it) and there is a messy breakup that broke Kate’s heart!

Kate is a great character, she’s strong and independent, and won’t let Holden destroy her like he did last time. And I have to admit I wanted her to make him grovel (a lot ?). Holden will frustrate you, have you rolling your eyes and then want him winning back Kate, (there are things from their past that will surprise you, and have you backing Holden to win back Kate.)

It has all the emotions in this book, it has heartbreak, angst, banter and a bucket load of chemistry. Their past is a complicated one, and you do have to wonder if Holden will actually win Kate back!

Cliffhanger ending, so be warned! But I want to know what happens, so I’ve made a note of when the next book is due out!

My shoulders go rigid. I have thirteen missed calls.Thirteen.

Most days, I get one or two calls tops… and they’re usually spam.

Not only do I have thirteen missed calls, but I have thirteen new voice messages. All from the same 516 area code.

I press play and hold the phone up to my ear.

Holden’s voice filters from the speaker. “Kate, it’s me. Look, we need to talk. I don’t want to have this conversation over the phone—”

She wasn’t exactly memorable back then. The echo of his voice roils my stomach, and I pull the phone away from my ear to look at the phone number he called from.

The same number as the other twelve messages—Holden’s number.

Holden called me thirteen times.

My breath catches. I haven’t known his number for years. I haven’t known how to reach him, despite the multiple pissed off speeches I’ve memorized through the years. Speeches I thought he’d never hear because I never had a way to contact him…

Until now.

The power of that makes my heart patter against my ribcage with the speed of a hummingbird’s wings.

It’s a power I shouldn’t be trusted with.

I delete the messages and shove my phone back deep into my pocket as Jill gives me a questioning glance. “Who was that?”

My throat tightens. She’s the one person I can’t lie to. “It was him.”

Her eyes go wide, filling with hope. “Maybe—”

“No,” I cut her off.

“You don’t even know what I was going to say!”

Curt finishes taking an order and scribbles some initials onto a cup, then thrusts it at me to make the iced matcha latte. I bend, retrieving the green powder from its container, and toss a scoop in the bottom of the cup.

“Fine,” I concede, uncapping the almond milk.

“What were you going to say?”

“Maybe he’s calling to offer you the part—”

“No,” I answer again, shoving the ice scoop into the bin.

“But how do you know?”

“I just do.” I dump the ice into the tea shaker, then push the lid on top. Giving it a good shake, I speak over the clatter. “If you’re being offered a role, the director isn’t the one who calls you. The casting director calls your agent. Then your agent calls you with the contracts that you comb through before there’s any formal acceptance.”

I hate the deflated look on Jill’s face. In some ways, she’s taking this even harder than I am.

Or I’m just that good at shutting off my emotions.

Which is the exact reason I didn’t get the part. Because Holden knows me too well. He knows I have trouble connecting, exposing my vulnerable side. Especially with him.

“The only reason Holden would call me himself is if I didn’t get the part, and he thinks this somehow makes him the hero to tell me in person.” I stare into the frothy light green beverage and snap the lid on top, avoiding Jill’s pitying stare.

A deep voice speaks up, resonating over the ambient noise of the coffee shop. “Maybe if you returned my calls, you’d know what the hell I wanted.”

My breath stalls halfway out of my lungs, and I snap my gaze up.

Holden.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 7,2023

He was a demon in love with fire; she was destined to burn.

In the kingdom of Vestia, where demons reign and hidden truths lie in wait, Lilly, a human, struggles to repay a debt owed to a mob boss notorious for his cruelty and wealth. She spends her nights waitressing at one of the most exclusive clubs in the capital city where she catches the attention of Max, a mesmerizing demon who exudes a darkness and mischief that both intrigues and terrifies her.

Max’s scars bear witness to his hidden past, a past that intertwines with Vestia’s throne itself. And Lilly, with her own secrets, cannot escape the magnetic pull she feels toward him.

As their worlds collide, Lilly and Max must navigate the waters of trust and deception. Can they unravel the truths that bind them or will their secrets shatter any chance of happiness?

In this fantasy romance novel, Max and Lilly must decide if the risks they take are worth the ultimate reward: a love that defies the darkness.

I should have known better than to trust a demon.
I should have seen past his smirk and paid closer attention to the scars that run up and down his arms. Maybe then I would have seen the truth and realized who Max really was.
Then again. . . where’s the fun in that?

•••••

REVIEW: Although this book is set in the same world as “The Sins of the Blood War”, it’s not necessary to read them before this book. It’s a completely different set of characters.

Lilly is a human (well almost ?) working in a demon bar. How she got there will be revealed in the book (what? I’m not giving all the story away ?) a little like a hostess (find a guy and make him pay for drinks all night, if he’s happy then he usually leaves a tip) and Lilly is almost done with paying the demon she owes money too (also explained)

It’s all going well, when a fight breaks out….

Max has been watching Lilly for a while now, he’s never interacted with her, but he’s wanted too. And now he knows her name. (Think someone is a little smitten with the human ?) Living in the demon realm his whole life, Max hasn’t had it easy. His character on the outside is arrogant and brash! But get past his exterior and we have a demon with a tortured past (one of my favourite kind ?)

Their first meeting happens when Lilly breaks up a bar fight. Second meeting is when her boss wants her to play “nice” and get information out of Max!

Max is definitely taken with Lilly, but he doesn’t know why she is with Jae (her boss) or even working in the club, he wants to find out but his boss/ruler wants him to use Lilly to get to Jae!!

Can Lilly and Max really have a future? Can they give up their secrets to one another and trust that the person they are becoming involved with won’t break their heart and trust?

I loved the detail this book was given. All the backgrounds were in great detail, nothing was missed. You could imagine the club Lilly worked at really clearly.

Same went for the characters, their traits and thoughts were all on the page for you to digest and ponder.

Next book is all about Blaise (a weapons master) & Charlee, (a human thief) they are in this book, so hoping we still get to interact with Lilly and Max (that have a place in my heart and mind for the time being) ?

A highly recommend read if you like paranormal romance with a little mystery thrown in.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 26, 2023

Five years ago I found my mate… and he has no idea.

I’ve spent my entire life doing two things: training to be a ballet dancer, and longing for a scent-match. My feet bled for one, and my heart bled for the other.

Then my first heat hit, and my deepest dream became my darkest secret.

I scent-matched with my best friend, and ran.

It’s been five years since I last saw him—happily in someone else’s arms—and I couldn’t bear to break his heart.

But that was before. Before he joined my dance company, anger and grief in his eyes. Before I matched with the rest of his pack, whose scents drive me to the best kind of madness. Before I begged for forgiveness, even if I can never forgive myself.

But the more time I spend with them, the more I see the future I always wanted. A love that sweeps me away, keeps me safe, and never lets me go.

Every day, I fall deeper, and as I do, the more they see the truth: No matter how long it’s been, I never gave up on that dream. Knot for a moment.

REVIEW:Book three in this series (you don’t need to read the first books to understand and enjoy this one) has a second chance at romance at its core, but also new loves with new alphas. And a catch up with familiar faces. (Which I absolutely loved reading)

Putting her career before her own happiness had been Sloane’s idea. Especially when she found out her best friend was a scent match made in heaven (don’t want to go into details the blurb does that) But now she in close proximity to Ash again, could they have a second chance?

Ash/Gabriel/Roman/Jace are all alphas and all for running away with their Omega, but they need to convince Sloane. She thinks that the past will hold them back, the pack don’t see that.

I loved that the MFC was independent and chose career over love (so many of the Omegaverse and fated mate stories have the FC rolling over and putting her life/dreams on a back burner) but that’s not to say she regretted a few choices over the years, including a bossy and domineering ex boyfriend!

The only thing that I wasn’t keen on, was the fact they moved on from the last too quick (I do like a little angst with second chance romance) and considering it’s a proper book and not a novella, we could have prolonged it a little ?

But it’s still a great read. It still has passion/romance and storylines that will have you reading it in one sitting (real life sucks sometime ?)

So although not my favourite book in this series, I still urge you to grab it (and the other two) and enjoy the Omegaverse at its finest.

Adding this author to my favourite author list now ?

She’s famous, beautiful, and the one Omega whose name everyone knows. She’s my twin sister. Everyone wants her, and no one wants me.

Being the twin of a movie star isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Eva is glamorous and sweet, and everything I’m not. Believe me, every person in my life has made that crystal clear. The press calls me the Ice Queen, leaving pack after pack broken in my wake.

I wish it were true.

All I’ve ever wanted was a pack—to be loved and cherished the way an Omega was meant to be—but now I’ve given up hope. Every group I meet wants a copy of my sister. Let’s not even mention the ones who called me by her name.

That was before I ran into an Alpha whose scent made me climb him like a tree. And his pack, who smells like heaven, makes me perfume, and claims they want to make me theirs. I want to believe love like this exists, yet the past has taught me it’s too good to be true.

I want to be able to tell the world I’m taken. To scream I’m knot your damn Omega… I’m theirs. But first, I have to believe it myself.

Knot Your Damn Omega is a standalone reverse harem Omegaverse. No choosing, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA! This book is part of a series of standalones, and can be enjoyed on its own, without reading any other books in the series. Content Warnings available on the author’s website.

REVIEW: Reading a few Omegaverse books recently, and I have to say that I throughly enjoyed meeting Esme and the her pack.

Poor Esme is sick and tired of being second best to her twin! They might look alike, but that’s where the resemblance ends! And if she does meet someone, then they want a lookalike not the second best! She’s tired of being paraded around, tired of her mother looking at her as if it’s her fault the pack doesn’t want her!

The chemistry between Bennett and Esme was off the wall, but she’s scared! No one has ever wanted her! She doesn’t believe she deserves a pack of her own, she believes she’s just not good enough!

Meeting Bennett/Luke/Rylan/Kade/Avery will change Esme’s life, that is if she gets enough confidence to take a chance…. Bennett is an alpha through and through, a talented tattoo artist and owner of the tattoo studio. Luke is also a tattoo artist and Alpha, he’s the oldest in the pack. Rylan is the only Beta in the pack, he is the peacemaker. Kade is also a tattooist, and the guy you make an appointment if you need a piercing, an alpha from top to bottom. And finally Avery a teddy bear of an Alpha, who can’t wait like the rest of his pack to court and claim this lovely but skittish Omega.

I enjoyed the pace, the story, the characters and all the emotions that went with this story. (Although Esme constantly doubting the packs feelings for her did get a little wearing!) I liked how the pack constantly looked after and reassured her ?? it’s also the pack focus on her, there is no MM action.

A highly recommended read. And I’m looking forward to reading the next book. Another new author that’s going to be one on my reading list.

ABOUT THE BOOK: All she ever wanted was a quiet life doing what she loved. Her family had other plans.

Being the Omega daughter of Slate City’s favorite politician is exhausting. Everyone in our family is perfect. Good jobs, good images, no scandals, and smiling at all times. That’s not me, and it never will be.

No matter how hard I try.

All I’ve ever wanted was a simpler life—to choose what I want to do, have a pack who loves me, and be happy—but that’s not an option. My entire life is already planned out for me. Every step carefully curated to make sure my family stays at the top, in the spotlight, and in power. Of course, I will be their dutiful Omega daughter.

That was before I got trapped in a closet with an Alpha whose scent made me want to misbehave. And before I found out that he’s my new bodyguard. His pack smells like paradise, drowns me with passion, and doesn’t care about my family’s plans. They only want me.

From the outside my life seems perfect, but I know better than anyone that knot all that glitters is gold. I want to break out of the cage I’m in, and I want these men to help me do it. But when you’re on a pedestal to the entire world… there’s a very long way to fall.

REVIEW: Knot All That Glitters, is part of the Slate City Omegaverse Series by Devyn Sinclair, and is the second story in this universe.

Petra has to be seen doing the right thing, not allowed to tarnish the family name! Being in the public eye is nothing but a chore for her.

And allowing her stepmother to dictate to her so it keeps the peace is all part of Petra’s every day life! She’s an Omega, so in this universe Omegas are shy and protected. Protected, yes. Shy, oh hell no! Petra doesn’t conform to the stereotype of a shy Omega.

Whilst interviewing a pack, Petra catches a scent that she has to immediately investigate, and what she finds surprises and delights her…..

Cole and Harrison are bodyguards, they are good at their job. Emery is a vet for exotic animals and his job keeps him busy. And Blake, chef extraordinaire and restauranteur completes the pack. And unlike the the last book, they are all Alphas. They’d stopped looking for an Omega after several failed attempts, and now they know why, they’d been waiting for Petra.

Instant attraction for both parties, and then throw in Cole/Harrison/Emery and Blake, well you can guess the rest ?

I have to admit I didn’t like it as much as the first book (Knot Your Damn Omega) but it’s still a great book. I loved the interaction between Petra and her pack. I also liked the idea of knowing your mate by scent.

I liked that the pack being interviewed helped run interference and helped her along the way.

Wasn’t too keen on the stepmother, she really wasn’t a nice person! And best friend Sloane, she was sassy and a fun character.

But it’s not all plain sailing for Petra and her men! No, we have a stalker to contend with and death threats! And when we find out who, and I admit I was a little surprised.

We get to catch up with a character or two from the previous (which always a favourite of mine) book.

This book has no problem standing on its own in the series, there is no need to read the first. But after reading this (if you haven’t read the first book) I can almost guarantee you’ll go back and read the first one.

A recommended read from me. And now I’m off to find book three.

••••••••

REVIEW:  This series just goes from strength to strength, all the stories follow one another, but you don’t need to read them in order to understand the next book.

The player in this book is Will, he’s a loyal soldier, seen as a bit of a fool and a mouth that has no filter!

I have to admit, Will wasn’t a favourite of mine until his book (Adam is still my favourite ?) until they become a main character in their own book, I find the soldiers annoying ? and really arrogant, but you get to see that soft side that only their family see, and then it’s only a small part, it’s as if they’ve saved that soft side for the person that will become the center of their world.

Bryony Masters is no fool when it comes to life, her sisters have learned from a young age how life can be! One of her sisters is dating a soldier, so she’s around them quite a bit, but the one that rubs her up the wrong way is Will! She thought he liked her, only his way of showing affection is not to Bryony’s liking! So the less she has to do with him the better! Only Will doesn’t seem to want to take no for an answer…..

I must admit I did think it was someone else from the soldiers past, and in a way it was, just not the person i thought it might be. There are no clues in the previous books, (I did go back and read them all again just in case ?)

The chemistry between these two people was electric, even when she wasn’t too keen on him, you could tell he was wearing her down ?

The atmosphere The Taskmaster created was tense, very “Saw” like. The puzzles and the countdown only added to the tense “game” he was playing with the couple.

The banter that goes back and forth between all the characters will have you chuckling.

The sadness that was in Will’s childhood will have you reaching for a tissue (or two) and reading this book will get you feeling emotions that most books don’t achieve. There are no pauses, no stumbling, we just go from plot to plot. I’d watch this as a Halloween movie any day.

And I really enjoyed how we still interact with previous characters from the series.

I liked how both Will and Bryony kept each other balanced and focused while captured, each becoming the other’s protector, each not letting the other give up.

Will was definitely the first to fall, but he didn’t care who knew it. He was going all out to win his girl’s heart, even if it meant sacrificing himself in the process!!

Did I feel sorry for the taskmaster? A little yes, do I want him to get a HEA? I honestly don’t know ? if you read the book you’ll know why ?

This is dark, this will have triggers for some people, please read the warnings.

Otherwise grab this book and be prepared to have a few OMG moments.

It’s another highly recommended read from me.

The Creole Duchess (The Duchess Series 3)by Rue Allyn-a review

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 30, 2023

A duke in disguise, a creole miss determined to get her own way, a curse, and two nations at war, is love even possible?

New Orleans Creole, Miss Celestine St. Cyr-Duval refuses to live under the thumb of some man chosen by her parents. Celie will do everything to keep freedom of choice for herself and others. But fate interferes in the form of a duke disguised as British businessman, Caleb Elmond. A relationship with Caleb would find approval with her mother, but both Celie and Caleb have secrets that put them on opposite sides of a great conflict and could destroy them both.

With the Battle of New Orleans looming, can these two strangers from warring countries compromise and protect each other, or will fear and betrayal end both their lives?

•••••

REVIEW:A new author and a new series (this is book three) it stands on its own and doesn’t need you to read books one and two.

Celestine “Celie” has never known anything but her life, it’s not stopped her from wanting more and trying to get a better life. Celie is 1/4 black (today that is nothing, but in the 1800’s that wasn’t either colour, and so women who were of a mixed race were “kept” by white men as mistresses!)

Caleb “Cal”, is a man on a mission! He’s also pretending to be something he’s not! A British man in New Orleans in this period is definitely not welcome, so he needs to keep his cool and his head down….

It’s almost love at first sight for Cal, meeting Celie has him in a trance, his friend warns him to be careful, but Cal must have this magical creature.

They tiptoe around each other and their feelings, both hiding who they really are. Can Cal convince Celie that he wants more than her being his mistress. And will Celie forgive Cal when she finds out that he’s not really who he says he is?

A period drama/action/romance is always a firm favourite with me. And this author is a new one. This book is the third one in the “Duchess Series”, I’ve not read the other two, but if they are as good as this one then at some point I’ll go back and read (but I’ve added them to my TBR list ?)

I also liked that there is a second story (and the reason why Cal is in New Orleans) in the book. There is drama, action, voodoo and of course the romance.

I love the history part of this book, it added something to the story. I like it when history is wrapped up in the romance.

So if you’re looking for a romance with a historical touch, then grab The Creole Duchess now.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 19, 2023

Beware the fire for it burns.

It’s time to find my home. My family.

In a world where strength is hunted and those unlike the rest are sentenced to death, my kind are better off in groups. Fire is not something to dabble in and when given the right fuel, it can destroy anything.

Thus, we are public enemy number one in the world of supernaturals.

While investigating a connection between the Division of Silence and ORKA, monsters are also trying to find those responsible for giving humans magic with which they use to kill supernaturals. I’m in the middle of these investigations, even as I try to find my own happily ever after.

The Harem Project has my family. I’m sure of it. And when I meet the House of Agni, I know without a doubt that they are the matching flames to my fiery soul.

There’s just one problem – someone beat me to their hearts mere weeks before me.

My name is Zuri and I’m not sure I’m even going to get a happily for now, never mind a happily ever after. Especially not when monsters have just called an all out war on ORKA and I’m left wrecked for the family I was too late to claim.

•••••

REVIEW:Back to one of my favourite series and a firm favourite one click author.

The Harem project had just gone from strength to strength. Building a world full of large families that live/love and fight to keep that tradition going. Paranormal beings that are being persecuted by ORKA (an organisation that is slowly and systematically destroying anything or anyone that they deem “not normal”!) and don’t forget the organisation calling themselves The Silence!

Zuri is added to the family (almost as an afterthought) she’s added to the House of Agni, but Emrys is still finding his feet with the house, so I felt her story was ignored in favour of his! Her character is a great one, she’s fierce, intelligent and extremely independent.

Emrys is a character that you just want to cuddle and protect. He’s been lonely for so long, he’s given up hope of ever getting a family of his own. His life hasn’t been a happy one, so when he finds the House of Agni you can’t help but cheer.

I did get a little confused as the description on the back of the book lead me to believe it’s Zuri’s story, who in fact didn’t make an appearance till almost chapter 13 (40% of the book!) I think maybe it should have been focused on Emrys!)

This is book six in the series. You don’t need to read the previous books, but you’ll meet previous characters and there is an ongoing story, but the author gives you a quick rundown.

The Harem project are slowly connecting the dots between The Silence and OKRA! And it’s not a good connection! There is also a shock and a twist that I didn’t see coming!

As with the previous books you are treated to a smorgasbord of emotions. I love watching how an established unit have room in their hearts and lives for one or two more people. There are individuals that have connections with just each other, but they love as a whole. The banter is witty, and the fighting spirit is plenty, and they need all the help they can get. I like how they connect and interact with the other units/packs.

There are triggers in this book as there are in the series. So please read the warnings before reading the book.

I throughly enjoyed reading this book, and would recommend reading in order.

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. All of her RH relationships end up being heavily polyamorous – meaning it’s not just all the men for one woman. There’s also some M/M action going on. When she can’t fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center – and utterly swoon-worthy! Don’t ask her how many book boyfriends she has…

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don’t even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

REVIEW:Fourth book in this amazing series. You won’t really be able to read this book without reading the others first, it will make more sense to read in order.

Book four starts where we left book three (House of Curses) ….

Kerrigan and Ford reemerge from a portal to find out they’ve come out in her mothers land!! (I’d like to say more, but I don’t want to spoil anything)

Then Kerrigan tries fighting her way back to her own realm and people (and that’s when it gets interesting)

If your looking for a recap, it’s best you go back and read through book three (which was what I did) we don’t get bogged down with previous information (which in this case would have been helpful, as it’s been a while since book three was released)

I couldn’t put it down once I started. The action is fast. The words just flow off the page and into a wonderful read. (I’d watch them if ever considered for a series or set of films)

This plays with all of your emotions. We meet new and old friends, new allies are formed. Betrayal/battles/twists and turns. Heartbreaking moments that will have you reaching for the tissues ?and a family reunion that could have gone either way!!

I loved the gladiator battle, very descriptive (almost a Russel Crowe moment) Felt sad that Kerrigan is without her magic at the moment, and you kept hoping she’d find it. But instead we watch as she overcomes her lack of magic, Kerrigan is nothing but resourceful.

The ending came far too quick, and now we have to wait for the next book.

It’s not a cliffhanger ending, but it does set us up for I’m assuming the last battle and book.

And I can’t wait.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 28,2023

Vampires and Viajante have tolerated each other’s existence for centuries, but not without exceptions. When Mara was six, her Viajante family was murdered by vampires without provocation. Not only did her future change, so did she, a secret hidden even from her own people.

No longer a child, and no longer confined to Sanctuary, Mara’s headed into vampire territory in search of answers behind the attack, and to the mysterious prophesy she’s been linked to. She expected danger, and quite possibly getting her butt kicked a time or two before avenging her family. The last thing she expected: an alliance with a powerful and sexy vampire bent on making her his own.

Can Mara and her new family unravel the mystery and bring the truth to light, or will those responsible for the death of her family, and the attempts to silence her, remain forever in shadow?

Extinguishing Shadows is a paranormal fantasy that questions everything you think you might know about enemies and friends. Heather Beal spins a beautiful web of magic layered with intrigue and surprise into a breathtakingly high-stakes story that will leave you wondering, just how deep does the darkness go?

REVIEW: There are trigger warnings to this book, so please read the warnings before grabbing this book.

Mara is a Viajante (an immortal traveller “gypsy” who can read minds) her bloodline hold a dark secret, which may have caused her to lose her family at a young age!
She wants answers and revenge, so sets out to find both!

Terrill Is a vampire. He’s been a warrior for his people for many years. Coming across Mara should have been a happy occasion, but when your soul is a bitter enemy, he’s torn. But fate wins out in the end, and Terrill can’t do anything but fall for his enemy! But there is a twist in that part that had me totally surprised!

It made me think of Romeo and Juliet with a little of those paranormal films thrown in for good measure (underworld I think they were called) it’s not quite a slow burn romance, (more of a medium burn) but what drew me in and had me reading the whole book in a day was the action, it’s fast paced and really well written.

On this journey Mara’s mind reading ability comes in handy, well it did until she meets Terrill…..

I liked the concept of “the soul” linking one person to another, it’s a little like “fated mates” where a predetermined person is the one who makes you complete.

The dub con (dubious consent) comes into play in this book, and although not really explained it doesn’t stop me from reading the book.

Being linked to a deadly enemy is proving to be a challenge, it’s causing her to question the link. But it’s also gaining her enemies from the vampires and her own people!

We get to see other beings in this book as well as us mere mortals (some aline themselves with vampires in the hopes of gaining power)

So if you like your vampire/paranormal stories with lots of action and a dollop of romance then grab this book. It’s full of betrayal, double dealings and a few twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting the next book.
