So much need. So much desire…

It’s been exactly ten years since Halle Morgan last set foot in her tiny hometown. Now she’s back, but only long enough to honor the memory of her best friend and try to leave the past behind her. But with one look at Cooper Bale, Halle knows there is no escape from the past—or from the man she wants like no other.

Cooper can’t let go of his painful memories, or the guilt that tore him and Halle apart. And try as he might, he can’t forget the bittersweet night they once shared. Even now, longing sizzles between them, potent and insatiable. Though blissful nights spent in Halle’s arms heal the bitterness in Cooper’s heart, they know they have no future…until they let go of the past that brought them together.

••••••••••••••••

Lovers Restored begins with Halle going back to her hometown to fulfill a promise she and her best friend, Peyton, made 10 years ago. This is the first time she’s been back since the death of her best friend and Cooper’s little sister. They all grew up together and Halle had always been a part of their family. But when Peyton was killed, Halle had so much guilt that she left town right after the funeral and never went back. Until today. And who does she run into after being in town only for a few minutes? Cooper, Peyton’s big brother and the person who has held Halle’s heart since she was a teenager.

Cooper couldn’t believe that Halle was back. He had tried for ten years to get her out of his mind, but the problem with that was that he couldn’t get her out of his heart. And that was a problem. He blames her for Peyton’s death, at least partly.

Halle is as affected by Cooper as he is by her, but they both fight it tooth and nail. She knows that he blames her and she doesn’t blame him for that. She blames herself as well and assures him that she is only in town for a couple of days to see a deed done that she and Peyton set into motion ten years ago, and then she’s gone. She’s built a life for herself and fully intends to get back to that life. Fate it seems, has a different idea once the two of them start spending more and more time together. And, once Halle goes to see Cooper’s mom and sees a shell of a woman who used to be so vibrant, she knows that she has to try and make things better for her, so she stays in town for a while to do just that. Halle and Cooper both know that his mom is fragile and they try and make things as normal as they can, and sure enough, Halle’s presence has a profound effect on his mom…..and on Cooper.

Things still aren’t easy for Halle and Cooper. They both have mourned Peyton’s death in their own way, but haven’t truly come to terms with what happened. Ultimately, they do have a heart to heart, but Cooper’s been keeping a secret himself. Will Halle understand the secret he’s kept deep inside all of these years, or will she cut and run again. Well, my friends, you’ll have to read and find out.

Lovers Restored is a tender story that deals with loss and coming to terms with what was in order to see what can be. Halle is a sweet, caring character and your heart will melt. Cooper, however, is a different story. He was so hot and cold throughout the story, that I had a hard time warming up to him. Of course, at the end, he realizes what a putz he’s being and redeems himself. I just wish that he’d realized it maybe a tad sooner. With that said, Lovers Restored is a sweet, and at times HOT, story that holds your attention and you find yourself rooting for both Halle and Cooper. And, if you’re from a small town as I am, you will see some of yourself and your friends in this story. I guarantee it! 😉

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 6, 2014

First Sergeant Rafe Murano did everything to the extreme. He trained harder, he fought harder, and, unfortunately, he loved harder. And falling for the wrong woman nearly destroyed him.

Home from a deployment, and without his missions to consume him, Murano is ravaged by memories of his heartbreak. So he drinks until he’s numb and drowns himself in meaningless one-night stands. But they only take the edge off…

Until he meets Fallon.

Haunted by her past, Fallon Kelly knows all too well about the desperate desire for an escape. So when she sees the tatted-up bad boy who’s one punch away from a ride in the back of a squad car, she offers a distraction—one that quickly becomes an addiction.

Little does she know, this bad boy can love so hard, it can break her…

REVIEW: A BEAUTIFUL DISTRACTION is the third full length novel in Kelsie Leverich’s contemporary, adult, erotic, romance series focusing on a group of military men and the women that they love. This is Rafe Murano and Fallon Kelly’s story. Both have buried secrets; demons that ride them hard; and different ways of handling the stress and anxiety of everyday life. While Rafe drinks and has indiscriminate sex with any number of women, Fallon owns two upscale adult dance clubs where men watch and women perform. One night, Rafe walks into Fallon’s club and finds himself drawn to the beautiful dancer with the grace of a ballerina and he knows that he is about to lose his heart-all over again.

The storyline follows Rafe and Fallon’s building relationship-a relationship predicated on rules and no promises of anything more. Kicked out of her family home at seventeen, Fallon has fought her way to the top of the gentlemen’s entertainment industry and is proud of her accomplishments and successful business ventures. Meeting First Sergeant Rafe Murano starts a slow burn that begins to melt the ice that has encased her heart for many years but Rafe’s temper and need to protect will force Fallon to walk when he is unable to get past what it is she does for a living.

A BEAUTIFUL DISTRACTION is a well paced, emotional and erotic storyline about two people from different walks of life. This is a story about second chances-not with one another-but a second chance at trust, happiness and love. The secondary characters are colorful, eclectic and add a wealth of information and backstory. Everyone has a history and no two histories are alike.

The sexual tension is palpable. You can feel the desire, the need and the sensuality but Fallon is a woman who has been hurt by a past mired in family betrayal, heartbreaking sorrow and loneliness.

My only complaint is the over use of the word babe. At one point I thought the hero did not remember the heroine’s name.

Kelsie Leverich writes a realistic and intense storyline where the past overlaps the present and could very well affect the future. It is a story about two people lost in a world of hurt, who find solace in one another but not before jealousy and the past plant themselves front and center.

A BEAUTIFUL DISTRACTION is an intimate look at a building relationship between two broken hearts who thought love had passed them by. They become one another’s distraction but a distraction they cannot resist.

FEEL THE RUSH (Hard Feelings 2) by Kelsie Leverich-a review

Feel The Rush

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 20, 2013

Picking the wrong men is a talent Meagan Mitchell has perfected. She’s sweet, confident, beautiful—and single. With her thirtieth birthday sneaking up on her, she needs a new plan. No more Mr. Wrongs or Mr. Bads, it’s time to find Mr. Safe…

Army Captain, Reed Porter, lives for the thrill—he’s an Airborne Jumpmaster with a rush addiction. He’s sexy and playful, and he quickly tempts Meagan with his rich Southern drawl and sinful looks. But slowing down and settling down are not in his agenda, making him exactly the type of man Meagan wants to avoid…

As their undeniable attraction heats up, Meagan has to decide if she’s willing to risk everything on a chance at love with a reckless charmer. Is she brave enough to bet her future—and her heart—on Mr. Thrill? Or will Reed finally learn that the feeling of a safe landing is just as addicting as the rush of the fall?

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW:  FEEL THE RUSH is the second storyline in Kelsie Leverich’s contemporary military HARD FEELINGS romance series. Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. The series has introduced a number of fellow soldiers, friends and comrades, and each will have their story told. This is Meagan and Reed’s story. One thing I have noticed, there is a similar theme running throughout the first two novels-the heroine has been scorned; betrayed by a previous lover; cheated on by someone she trusted and loved, and in this, has shaped the character’s skewed outtake on life and love. I am not sure if this is where all of Kelsie’s storylines are heading, but it is a major premise running throughout both novels.

The story focuses on the almost thirty year old Meagan Mitchell- an army brat and nurse who measures her days by the lack of a permanent relationship, marriage and motherhood. Enter her new neighbor Captain Reed Porter, a man who does not remember their first encounter eight years earlier. Meagan fears she will lose her head and her heart to the resident bad boy who wants to live life to the fullest and looks for the next big ‘rush’. Meagan is looking for something more and Reed isn’t willing to be that more.

The relationship between Reed and Meagan is hot, sexy and romantic. Both realize that going into the relationship with boundaries is setting them up to fail and they will fail in a big way that will break your heart and flow your tears. Not only for our leading couple but for several of Reed’s fellow soldiers whose lives and loves are as screwed up as their commanding officer.

The storyline is well paced; most of the characters are likeable and relatable although Meagan’s character had the ability to set off warning bells with her behavior of pulling Reed in and pushing him away all the time. Her history with men has shaped her inability to trust and her growing fear that all men will break her heart and leave when someone new comes along. In this, she was a difficult character to like. And Reed, knowing full well that Meagan wanted more, kept pushing his limits in their relationship.

Once again, the storyline is filled with friends and fellow soldiers all with a story waiting to be told. The characters are real; suffer pain and loss; heartbreaking sorrow and misguided love.

FEEL THE RUSH is a story about two people trying to overcome pasts mired in betrayal, loss and pain. Kelsie Leverich puts her own spin on the military hero storyline and pulls the reader in with heartbreaking histories that left me looking for a tissue on several occasions.
