ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 10, 2024

Jack Kingston is known for his dominant playing skills on the ice, but off, he’s a down-to-earth guy who values a true connection over a meaningless hookup.

I love being a member of the Pittsburgh Titans, even if my teammates are constantly ribbing me about women who they claim are throwing themselves all over me. Could I go for the easy lay? Sure, but that’s not my style. I’m more of long-term kind of guy. Instead, I’m going to keep doing what I do best—killing it out on the ice. Everything else will fall into place…eventually.

That time comes sooner than expected, in the most unlikely of ways. At the rink to watch our goalie’s kids play Peewee hockey, I meet Willa Montreaux and somehow, by the end of that interaction, I’ve offered to help her coach the Ice Pups. Altruism or were there other intentions in that offer? A little of both, if I’m being honest.

As the time I spend with Willa increases, I am absolutely certain I want even more. She’s gorgeous, sure, but that’s superficial. Willa is also funny, loving, determined and smart. SO smart. Doctor smart. Probably too intelligent for a jock like me, but that’s not going to stop me from shooting my shot.

Not looking for anything more than a fling and concerned that she’s too old for me, Willa doesn’t want to venture into anything serious. I’m willing to put in the work and give her the space she needs to come to terms with the fact that the connection we have is far more than physical. Willa and I are end game, but I’m willing to play into overtime if that’s what it takes to walk away with her by my side.

REVIEW: KING is the fourteenth instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult PITTSBURGH TITANS erotic, hockey romance series. This is twenty-five year old, defenseman Jack ‘King’ Kingston, and thirty-three year old former figure skater turned physician Dr. Willa Montreaux’ story line. KING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Willa and King) KING follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. Willa Montreaux never expected to find herself coaching her niece’s little league hockey tea but when the previous coach quit, Willa was volunteered by her sister for the job. Meeting Pittsburgh Titans’ defenseman Jack Kingston was an added bonus when he volunteered himself as assistant coach but Jack is hoping for something more, and Willa struggles with their age different, and demons from the past. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Jack and Willa, and the potential fall-out when the past returns demanding a second change.

The world building focuses on the trials and tribulations of little league hockey, and the aggressive parents pushing their kids too hard. We are up close and personal with the demons from Willa’s past, and the return of Jack’s ex pushes Willa out of his life.

The relationship between Willa and Jack begins as co-coaches and friends. Hoping to take their relationship to the next level, Jack begins a slow seduction of our story line heroine but Willa has been burned, and Jack’s past refuses to let go. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including team owner Brienne Norcross and her fiancé Drake McGinn, Brienne’s cousin Tansy Carmichael, several players including Rafferty Abrams, Penn Navarro, Bain and Keira, Stone Dumelin. We are introduced to Willa’s sister Brittany’s and her daughter Izzy, as well as Willa’s ex Scott, and Jack’s ex Emily.

KING is a story of secrets and lies, family and relationships, friendships and love. The premise is honest and animated; the age-gap romance is spicy; the characters are sassy and lively.

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released more than 30 books and has been featured on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists on multiple occasions.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 18, 2019

“I know it’s wrong to watch her like this, but she’s a temptation I can’t resist. She’s performing for another man, but I feel like it’s all for me. Like she’s mine.”

Nine lives.
Nine inches.
One chance to make her his.
Preppy’s brother is about to live up to the family legacy in more ways than one.

••••••••••

REVIEW: NINE: The Tale of Kevin Clearwater is the ninth instalment in T. M. Frazier’s contemporary, adult KING erotic, MC, romance story line. This is twenty-one year old, Kevin ‘Nine’ Clearwater, and former real estate agent Lenore ‘Lenny’ ‘Poe’ Leary’s story line. NINE: The Tale of Kevin Clearwater can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory, history and cohesion. Kevin ‘Nine’ Clearwater is Samuel ‘Preppy’ Clearwater’s brother.

WARNING: There may be some triggers for more sensitive readers due to the nature of the story line content.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lenny and Nine) using present day and memories from the past NINE: The Tale of Kevin Clearwater follows the building relationship between Kevin ‘Nine’ Clearwater, and former real estate agent Lenore ‘Lenny’ ‘Poe’ Leary. Four years earlier Kevin Clearwater met a stranger, a young woman he called Poe, but a woman whose life was spiralling out of control. Fast forward to present day wherein Nine will come face to face with his past, the woman he long thought gone from this world, but a woman caught up in a scam she knew nothing about. What ensues is the building relationship between Nine and Lenny, and the potential fall-out as Lenny’s past comes looking for revenge.

NINE: The Tale of Kevin Clearwater is a story of betrayal, vengeance, secrets and lies; a story of love, loss, and second chances; a story of abuse and neglect; of seduction, romance and hope. NINE reveals the brutal past of Kevin Clearwater and the life he left behind but will never forget. Lenny is a woman who has lost everything and more; defenceless in the face of accusations and threats against her life, our heroine’s only hope is the man everyone knows as Nine.

The relationship between Lenny and Nine is a second chance, of sorts: a rekindling friendship between two troubled and lost souls who met under questionable circumstances but have never stopped thinking about the who, how and why. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters, familiar if you are a fan of the author’s KING series. The friendship and camaraderie forged between Preppy, King, Bear and Ray is revealing, including their unquestionable need to protect and defend.

NINE: The Tale of Kevin Clearwater is an edgy, dark, and gritty story line; a raw and emotional look at betrayal and revenge. The premise is dramatic and intense; the romance is sensual and seductive; the characters are familiar, energetic and tragic.

I look up into his dark eyes. “This is a dangerous game of cat and mouse we’re playing.”

“More like a game of cat and bird,” he corrects.

I straighten my posture, my nipples grazing his hard chest. “And we all know how that turns out in the end. The cat eats the bird.”

Nine lightly scrapes his nails over my bare arms before pressing them into my skin. I gasp at the slight bite of pain. “No, the pretty bird swoops down from nowhere and sinks her sharp talons into the cat, marking him for life.”

There’s no sarcasm in his voice. I don’t know how to begin to process what it is he’s saying. It takes all of my concentration to get out my next few words.

“And…and then what?”

Nine picks me up off the floor in one quick motion, flipping me back onto the bed. He crawls over my body, hovering above me, pinning my wrists to the mattress. He grazes his teeth over the sensitive spot behind my ear.  He lowers his voice to a deliciously deep rumble that has me vibrating with his every word.

“And then he eats her.”

T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier never dreamed that a single person would ever read a word she wrote when she published her first book. Now, she is a five-time USA Today bestselling author and her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world.

T.M. enjoys writing what she calls sexy‘wrongside of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines.

Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay.

She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she’s not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 26, 2019

Never steal from a king.

Down on her luck in Las Vegas, Isabel “Izzy” Lake turns to the regulated prostitution industry. But her first day on the job ends abruptly when her client dies, and his suitcase contains over a million dollars.

Izzy takes the money and sets off to a small town on the other side of the country, where she attempts to live a low-profile life. A few weeks into her new country girl lifestyle, she finds owning an old fixer-upper isn’t so fun when you’re a city girl with zero DIY skills.

Izzy’s handsome new neighbor, Kingston Jameson, is all too eager to fix her leaky faucet and warm the cold side of her bed. It’s not long before she finds herself falling for King. But is he really the sweet-talking country boy he claims to be, or has he come to collect more than her heart?

***

Kingston “King” Jameson knew he shouldn’t have let Garrett pick up the suitcase full of cash. And he sure as hell never expected Garrett to die at a brothel and get robbed by a prostitute.

King needs to get the suitcase – and the secret item hidden in the lining – before his boss kills him.

He has one problem: The girl who stole the suitcase has hidden it very well. She left her entire life behind in Las Vegas. She’s got nothing left to lose. If King wants that suitcase, he needs to get close to her. Close enough to watch her every move. To know her deepest secrets.

Okay, he has two problems: He’s also fallen in love with the girl he’s supposed to kill.

••••••••••

REVIEW: KING by Cassia Leo is a contemporary adult, POWER PLAYERS stand alone, erotic romantic suspense story focusing on twenty-two year old Isabel ‘Izzy’ Lake, and former US soldier Kingston ‘King’ Jameson.

Told from dual first person points of view (Izzy and King) jumping between present day and the recent past KING follows Isabel Lake as she struggles to remain one step ahead of anyone looking for a missing one- point- four million dollars. A few weeks earlier, desperate for cash Izzy spent one night in Vegas as part of the world of legal prostitution that ended before it got started with a dead man on the toilet, and our heroine on the run with a suitcase full of cash, and a secret item hidden in the lining. Changing her identity, and settling down in Valdese, North Carolina, our heroine would soon meet her new neighbour, a sexy contractor who knows more about our heroine than he is willing to admit. Having no idea as to the identity of the man who died on the toilet, Izzy will discover that the politically powerful have set their sights on taking her down. What ensues is the building relationship between Izzy and King, and the fall-out as King is contracted to kill the girl, and return the suitcase and all of its’ contents as soon as possible.

Kingston Jameson is desperate to return the suitcase to its’ rightful owner but desperation comes with threats against the people he loves, people he is willing to protect, to get the job done. Working as a go-between for the politically connected criminal underground, Kingston is unaware that his latest target is a woman that will call to his heart.

The relationship between Izzy and King is one of immediate attraction but a relationship built upon a number of lies. Izzy is wary of anyone who tries to get up close and personal, and King is slowly falling in love with the woman he has been ordered to kill. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Izzy’s boss Edie Bryant at the local construction rehab store The Junk Drawer; King’s friend and army comrade Santos, as well as the requisite evil who are desperate for the return of the missing suitcase.

The world building follows dual timelines: Kingston as he is questioned by the local police; and Izzy and Kingston’s building relationship as they dance the dance of a romantic relationship built upon a series of lies.

KING by Cassia Leo is a quick read covering several weeks in the life of Izzy Lake as she settles into a routine of normal life having no idea that the man with whom she will fall in love battles between head and heart for our story line heroine. The premise is entertaining and inviting; the romance is sweet and impassioned; the characters are colorful and energetic. On the flip side, I did have a few issues including the author’s use of the phrase or parts thereof –cocks, cock, cocking an eyebrow used twelve times, or some action involving eyebrows nineteen times. I think a good editor or beta reader should have caught the multiple instances of said phrases and words. Overall, KING is an intriguing and entertaining story of enemies to lovers, romance on the run.

The drive home is relatively silent, save for the occasional heaving noises from Izzy. When I pull into her driveway, I make sure to park with the passenger side as close to her front door as possible. Then, I carefully open her door, catching her so she doesn’t tumble out, and carry her up the front steps.
“Try not to collapse, okay?” I say, setting her down gently. “I have to look for your keys.”
“Are you feeling me up?” she asks as I slide my hand into each pocket of her jeans.
Her breath is coated in the sickly sweet scent of whiskey mixed with a trace of vomit. Her hair smells like the smoky atmosphere in the bar. But her body is dangerously warm and soft under my touch.
“No, ma’am,” I reply, pulling a set of keys out of her front pocket.
She reaches up and clumsily traces her fingertip down the front of my lips. “Why not?”
I shake my head. “Believe it or not, I’m not in the habit of taking advantage of women who are too drunk to remember their own name.”
“That’s a shame,” she pouts as I unlock the door. “It’s… It’s Jolene.”
She laughs as I scoop her up in my arms and carry her into the house, where we’re greeted by Steve. The gentle beast wiggles her butt violently as she sniffs me up and down, taking in the smells of the bar.
“Hey, Steve,” I greet her as I use my foot to push the door closed behind me.
“You have to call her Steve-Bella until she’s used to Steve,” Izzy corrects me.
Maybe I should refer to you as Jolene-Izzy until you’re used to your new name.
I lower her onto the worn-in beige sofa, which I assume she purchased second-hand at The Junk Drawer. Taking a step back, I watch with slight amusement as she adjusts a throw pillow under her head and closes her eyes with a big smile on her face.
“How did you learn those fancy moves?” she slurs.
“What are you talking about?” I reply, taking a seat on the edge of the coffee table so I can keep an eye on her for a bit.
I tell myself I need to make sure she doesn’t choke on whatever’s left inside her stomach, but I know I’m only kidding myself.
Her eyelids flutter open, her gaze unfocused as she looks me up and down. “You tackled that guy like a defensive lineman, but you don’t look like a lineman. You’ve got quarterback written all over that hard body.”
I shake my head. “I used to be in the military. How did you learn those fancy moves? That was quite an elbow you dealt that guy.”
“I used to be in the military,” she replies with a cheesy grin.
“No, you weren’t.”
“No, I wasn’t.”
This girl just made off with 1.4 million dollars cash from a criminal organization. She’s obviously drinking to cope with the sudden loss of her friends and family. Yet, she still remembers to clam up about the details of her former life when she’s drunk.
I’m more impressed with her by the second.
“All right. I’ll let you keep your secrets,” I reply, getting to my feet now that I’m pretty sure she doesn’t need me here to watch over her.
“Thank you,” she says, closing her eyes again.
“For what?”
“For saving me.”
