The DIRTY SWEET series is a spin-off from the author’s Dirty Games Duet. Audrey is Sabrina Lind’s younger sister, and Dylan is partners in Reach Inc.

NOTE: SWEET FATE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up one year after the events of book one Sweet Liar.

Told from first person point of view (Dylan Locke) with an epilogue from Audrey, SWEET FATE picks up one year after the events of book one in which forty-three year old, billionaire businessman Dylan Locke, and twenty-three year old, art graduate Audrey Lind had a torrid one week affair that ended with Dylan Locke returning to his home and business in England, and Audrey returning to college to finisher her degree. Fast forward one year wherein Dylan will come face to face with the woman he loves when she accepts an intern position at the National Gallery of London. Continuing to struggle with their age difference, and his attraction and need for Audrey Lind, Dylan refuses to acknowledge the elephant in the room, as he stands by the side lines when Audrey attempts to locate the ‘one’. Agreeing to a friends with benefits relationship, Dylan continues to fall for the woman he will eventually push out of his life. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dylan and Audrey, and the potential fall-out as Dylan is unable to admit his love for our story line heroine.

Dylan Locke doesn’t do relationships, in fact, he hasn’t been with anyone else since he walked away for Audrey Lind. Audrey Lind has a bubbly and vivacious personality but has never stopped loving our story line hero-she slowly breaking down the barriers around his frozen heart.

The relationship between Audrey and Dylan is one of instant chemistry but a highly sexual relationship wherein their mutual attraction is tempered by Dylan’s inability to trust or move on. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word in a romance story line.

The secondary and supporting characters include several of the Dirty Games Duet characters :Audrey’s sister Sabrina Lindt and Donovan Kincaid; Weston and Elizabeth King; Nate and Trish; sales division manager Amy; Dylan’s son Aaron, and his ex-wife Ellen Wallace; and Audrey’s boss Jana Spruce.

SWEET FATE is a story of family, friendship, perseverance and love. The premise is playful, emotional and engaging; the romance is hot and heavy; the characters are sassy, colorful and captivating.

It was a completely different experience kissing Audrey, after I’d accepted the gravity of the feelings I had for her.
I knew the kiss meant nothing, that it would lead nowhere, but it felt like being bathed in radiant light.
Like I was an imprisoned man in a dark prison cell who, for one brief moment, was allowed to step outside into the sunlight. I was completely present for it. Each brush of her lips, each touch of her tongue—I memorized it all, imprinted every second into my brain so that I’d have it forever. I might still have worn shackles with no hope of freedom, but this moment mattered. It was real and divine, and I would cherish every last second of the stolen sunshine until my dying day.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Audrey and Dylan) SWEET LIAR follows the May-December, relationship between forty-two year old, businessman Dylan Locke, and twenty-three year old, college student Audrey Lind. Dylan’s time in the USA comes with an expiry date but time spent with Audrey Lind gives him pause for the future. Audrey’s attraction to Dylan Locke is immediate and intense but what our heroine lacks in experience she makes up for with seduction and fun. Hoping to gain the sexual experience she so desperately wants, Audrey makes Dylan an offer he cannot refuse. What ensues is the building sexual relationship between Audrey and Dylan as Dylan shows Audrey the art of ‘sex’, and the fall-out as their time together comes to a close.

SWEET LIAR is a quick read; an erotic story between an older, experienced man and a younger woman whose enthusiasm is matched by her need to learn. Several of the Dirty Games Duet characters cross over for cohesion and familiarity including Audrey’s sister Sabrina Lindt, as well as Donovan Kincaid and Weston King. The premise is inviting; the characters are fun and flirty; the romance is erotic, seductive and intense but saying that I didn’t feel the palpable sexual attraction between our leading couple-there was limited time to build a romantic relationship and therefore it felt more carnal and businesslike than anything else.

As soon as we were in our suite, the bomb exploded, the bomb being Elizabeth. “We’re alone now, so just tell me straight. You knew I was always going to France. Elizabeth isn’t happy about a marriage of (in)convenience but if it means saving her father’s company from a complete dismantling then a feisty Elizabeth is ready to do anything including marrying a man whose dislike for our heroine is palpable and heart breaking. Immaturity, misunderstanding and a distinct lack of communication are only some of the obstacles for our leading couple.

The relationship between Weston and Elizabeth is caustic, antagonistic and acidic. Weston’s belligerent attitude is off-putting, and his on-going need to throw his past sexual conquests into his fake-fiance’s face are petulant and immature. From the outset, their palpable sexual attraction is disguised by the bitter and testy back and forth. Elizabeth wants a no-sex relationship but all good ideas are overcome by want and need. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are re-introduced to Weston’s business partner Donovan Kincaid, an alpha male who controls Weston like a puppet on a string; Weston’s friends with benefits Sabrina Lind; fellow business partner Nate Sinclair; and Elizabeth’s mother Angela Dyson.

I looked at the windows past him, trying to distract myself. Lights flashed and swirled around the dance floor in time to the beat, the only part of the music which made it into the sanctuary of the bubble room. I could tell it was crowded, but I couldn’t make out faces the way they could probably make out ours. “I don’t know if anyone’s looking,” I said.

“Don’t worry about them. Just focus on what you’re doing.”

Easy for him to say. He wasn’t facing them. He was only looking at me.

Nope. I couldn’t think about that either. Just had to focus on the task at hand.

I closed my eyes. “So just pretend that I… That we are… That under my dress…” I couldn’t even say it.

REVIEW: FIXED FOREVER is the sixth instalment in Laurelin Paige’s contemporary adult FIXED erotic, romance series focusing on billionaire businessman Hudson Pierce, and his wife Alayna Withers-Pierce. FIXED FOREVER should not be read as a stand alone as many of the events in Fixed Forever are as of a direct result of events in the previous instalments. I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion especially as it pertains to Hudson and Alayna’s earlier relationship.

Told from dual first person points of view (Hudson and Alayna) FIXED FOREVER fast forwards the series several years, and focuses on the threats against billionaire businessman Hudson Pierce, and the woman he loves, his wife Alayna Withers-Pierce. Several months into her second pregnancy, threatening letters, of a personal nature, began to arrive from an unknown source. Trying to keep the letters a secret from his wife, Hudson hires more security in an attempt to alleviate the threats to his family but all does not go according to plan when, months later, Alayna discovers the truth and begins an investigation of her own. With Hudson’s colorful and deceitful past, any number of suspects are possible including the woman, Celia Werner, who helped mastermind the games Hudson played with so many lives.

FIXED FOREVER reveals the some of the questionable enterprises upon which Hudson (and Celia) embarked in an attempt to play their dangerous games of lies and deceit. Vengeance and retribution are but the tip of the iceberg, as Hudson and Alayna must delve deeper into the dark secrets of Hudson’s past, revealing the truth depth of depravity our hero had once journeyed, not only with Celia, but in his earlier years, as well. Issues of trust slowly eat away at the shaky foundation upon which their relationship is built but Hudson’s need to protect his family is first and foremost the most important issue on his mind.

Most of the previous story line couples (and characters) play secondary and supporting roles including Hudson’s brother Chandler and his fiancé Genevieve, as well as their sister Mirabelle; and Hudson’s PA Trish Bisceglia. We are reintroduced to Alayna’s nemesis, and Hudson’s former ‘partner’ Celia Werner, and her husband Edward Fasbender. Celia and Edward’s story is next with the release of SLAY book one, in the author’s spin off series the Slay Trilogy slated for June 2019. I will add that there is some confusion as it pertains to the similarity in names especially as it concerned Mira (Mirabelle), and Mina (Hudson and Alayna’s daughter), as well as Hudson, and his son Holden. The resemblance made for some confusing moments.

FIXED FOREVER is a story of betrayal, secret and lies; vengeance, jealousy, and retribution; romance, love, and a happily ever after. The premise is intriguing, suspenseful and captivating; the characters are familiar, colorful and charismatic; the romance is erotic, passionate and intense. Laurelin Paige writes an impassioned story about two people whose love for one another is tested, one betrayal at a time.

If she’d needed a day or two in bed, upset and processing and obsessively looking through pictures of the event on social media, what would that have mattered?

This is Hudson Pierce’s (Fixed Trilogy) thirty five year old professional assistant Patricia ‘Trish’ Bisceglia, and forty five year old Nathan Sinclair’s –millionaire advertising executive, Creative Director for Reach, INC – story line. DIRTY FILTHY FIX can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of Dirty Filthy Fix cross-over with Dirty Filthy Rich Love (Dirty Duet #2).

Nathan Sinclair is a man who likes to watch, a voyeur, who likes what he sees in our story line heroine, and intends to seduce said heroine into something more. The premise is sexy and hot. The characters are colorful and dynamic but the character building is limited- we know very little about their backgrounds or history prior to their fateful and unexpected meeting. The romance is spicy and edgy; the club sex scenes are dirty minded and erotic.

I wore satin that Saturday night, a long blue slip dress with slits up both sides. I never wore underwear to the parties. They were too much of an inconvenience, and the few times I had worn them, I’d just ended up giving them away as souvenirs. I liked nice lingerie. I preferred to keep most of it.
The shoes I wore—simple heels, easy to slip off—were also standard for an evening at the Open Door. But somehow I felt simultaneously more dressed up and more naked than I had in a long time. I left my hair down, and it fell long past my shoulders in dark, nearly black waves. It felt less like I was going to a weekly party and more like I was going on a date. A glamorous date.
It was a signal that I should not go.
But I went. Nothing could have kept me away.

I am probably in the minority but what others saw as passion, protective, love and seductive, I saw something disturbing, obsessive, over the top, and dangerous. In the real world, there are laws to protect victims from the what, why and how of Donovan Kincaid; DIRTY FILTHY RICH LOVE redefines and changes the boundaries of obsession, romanticizing that which would otherwise be dangerous and out of control. The premise is startling; the romance is controversial and intense; the characters are damaged, bold and alive. DIRTY FILTHY RICH LOVE’s rush to the finish was a little disconcerting; Sabrina’s need for Donovan Kincaid is the perfect complement to our hero’s questionable nature and the justification of his actions as protection and love.
