Told from dual first person perspectives (Sofia and Ethan) THE BARGAIN follows in the wake of a business offer for fashion designer Sofia Cameron. Sofia is the owner of the fashion line known as Zoey, and the Dalton family business has offered Sofia a six week mentorship and internship in Paris but Sofia’s personal relationship with Ethan may be a potential conflict of interest, as was Ethan’s previous rejection of Sofia’s father’s business proposal . Sofia struggles with issues of trust and loss, and in this, Ethan is offering more than a business proposal, he is offering the possibility of a life-long commitment. Meanwhile, Ethan’s half-brother Grant’s latest business venture has placed the family owned Dalton Enterprises in a precarious position pushing Ethan’s ex deeper into our couple’s orbit, as Ethan offers to renegotiate as a prospective investor in Sofia’s father Robert Cameron’s business.

The world building continues to focus on promoting Sofia’s fashion line as our couple make plans for Paris, France. Sofia continues to struggle with her growing love for a man who could break her heart, while she watches from the sidelines as the Dalton family is pulled into a possible war.

The relationship between Ethan and Sofia is both personal and professional. Sofia battles between head and heart fearing the potential for conflict, hurt and betrayal. Ethan is determined to prove she is worthy of everything he has to offer including his money and his heart. The $ex scenes are limited but seductive and provocative including scenes of spanking, which the author adds to most of her erotic story lines.

THE BARGAIN is a fast paced story of power and control, relationships and dysfunction family dynamics, trust and forgiveness. The character driven premise is inviting and riveting but barely covers 48 hours in the life ; the romance is spicy yet tender; the characters are determined and charismatic. THE BARGAIN ends on a cliff hanger- you have been warned.

“Come inside.” I tug him forward.He captures my arm and tugs me close. “I want nothing more than to walk you into your house, press you against the wall, and fuck you until you’re obsessed with me the way I’m obsessed with you.”

I’m still stunned at how overwhelmingly dominant he can be, but I don’t know why. This is Ethan. And I like this about him. I like how he makes me feel. “And the problem with that is what?”

“You believe this is nothing but fucking, Sofia. And it’s not. As much as it’s going to kill me, I’m going to win my spot back in your bed. I’m going to get a hotel room.”

I grab his sides, and my heart is charging in my chest. “No. No, I don’t need you to do that.”
“I think you do, baby. I think that’s exactly what you need to understand that this is real. And that’s the only way I make you stand with me instead of running from me.”

“I don’t want you to leave. That is not what I want. Ask me what I want right now, Ethan. Ask me what I want with you.”

“What do you want, Sofia?”

“Too much. That’s what I’m afraid of. Wanting too much. Of getting hurt. And the times when that hits me, when that messes with my head, is when I’m alone and have too much time to think. I overthink, and in our case, I overthink about why this can’t possibly work. So just to be clear, there is no version of what I just told you that says go to a hotel room. He stares down at me, studying me again, several heavy beats passing before his mouth crashes over mine in a ravenous, over-too-soon kiss before he’s walking me backward. We’re barely inside, and he’s already kissing me, kicking the door shut, and we don’t bother with the light. He turns me and flattens me against the wall, his big body framing mine, the thick pulse of his erection pressing to my belly. “Leaving you and going to a hotel room defied every male part of me that wants to strip you naked and show you why we’re good together. I will not give you the time to think me out of your life. I know you don’t believe me yet, but if we were fuck buddies, I’d make you come to me, or I wouldn’t bother. But I’ve already decided I will chase you until you stop running.”

“I’m not going to run again.” I laugh a small laugh. “I hope. I’ll try.”

“I can live with that answer.”

For several seconds, we just stand there, staring at each other, the rich, warm heat of our attraction to each other a living, breathing part of the room, and I can feel the separation of our time apart fade away. His mouth crashes over mine, and I’m not holding back or talking myself out of anything but the stupidity of walking away from my clothing brand or this man. I’m in this, all in, in a way I have never been with anything or anyone in my life.

REVIEW: AGENT VS ASSASSIN is the tenth instalment in LR Jones aka Lisa Renee Jones’s contemporary, adult LILAH LOVE romantic, suspense series focusing on foul-mouthed, aggressive, contentious and prickly FBI agent Lilah Love-Mendez, and her husband, businessman /Cartel heir Kane Mendez. AGENT VS ASSASSIN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book nine THE GHOST ASSASSIN. If you have not read the previous instalments, there may be spoilers in my review.

SOME BACKGROUND: Throughout the series, Lilah Love has been looking into an organization known as The Society, a powerful group that controls many of the politicians, law enforcement personnel, and the rich and famous, and it is this group that may or may not be targeting the people at the top, one of which is her estranged father, a man running for Governor, a man with connections to the people in control.

Told from first person perspective (Lilah) AGENT VS ASSASSIN picks up shortly after the events of THE GHOST ASSASSIN. Lilah has been struggling with the memories from her past, yet the assassin known as Ghost has offered to take down the ghosts that continue to haunt her dreams but there is more than one assassin on the horizon, and Lilah may be the target of both. With her father running for governor, and her brother working alongside, Lilah begins to focus on the who, how and why, as another high profile murder grabs the attention of FBI agent Lilah Love-Mendez.

The world building continues to follow Lilah as she battles the incompetent yet determined law enforcement, and her team of rag tag specialists with the ability to uncover other people’s secrets and lies. As Kane must come to terms with the reappearance of a man long thought dead, Lilah will come face to face an interesting foe.

There is another large ensemble of secondary and supporting characters including Lilah’s bodyguard Jay, Kane’s bodyguard Kit; Lilah’s brother Andrew; hacker Lucas Davenport; and Lilah’s IT guru Jeff ‘TicTac’ Landers, most of whom are the hunter/gatherers of Lilah’s investigations. We are introduced to an assassin who goes by Ghost, who is always one step ahead of our story line heroine; and the return of someone long thought buried and gone, a return that barely merits a few paragraphs of text.

AGENT VS ASSASSIN is a story of power and control, betrayal and obsession, dysfunctional family dynamics, relationships and love. The premise is detailed and dramatic yet barely advances the story line but a couple of days; the characters are charismatic yet guarded. AGENT VS ASSASSIN ends on a cliff hanger, you have been warned.

REVIEW: HE IS JENSEN: Part One is the fourth instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ adult WINDWALKERS sci-fi, urban fantasy series. This is US GTECH soldier Jensen Prescott, and astrobiologist Layla Walters’ storyline. HE IS JENSEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty, but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory.

SOME BACKGROUND: Some years earlier, government scientists working at Area 51, injected US soldiers with alien DNA creating a super soldier known as GTECH who continue to evolve with super powers but along the way the soldiers have split into two warring factions: The Zodius group who follow a former Renegade-Julian Rain, the leader of the rebel movement, a man determined to control the world: and The Renegades,a special operations group comprised of GTECH and civilians, desperate to save humanity from the addictive street drug known as ICE.

NOTE: HE IS JENSEN is the re-release and reimagined story first introduced as Sterling /The Storm That is Sterling (Zodius Series) but has been completely rewritten with new content, characters, names and premise.

Told from three first person perspectives (Jensen, Layla and Julian) HE IS JENSEN follows in the wake of Layla’s abduction by the Zodius Group. Approximately fourteen years earlier, Layla and Jensen were newly embarking on a high school relationship when Jensen disappeared leaving Layla wondering what went wrong. Fast forward to present day, Layla is an astrobiologist who finds herself a prisoner of Julian Rain, a prisoner forced to research the street drug called ICE, looking for a cure to its’ deadly withdrawal but Layla isn’t Julian’s only prisoner, her would be rescuer is the boy she knew in school, the man who would discover there is more to Layla than meets the eye.

The world building focuses on the past, the present and a potentially deadly future for our story line heroine. Julian Rain is determined to take control, creating a world dependent upon the street drug ICE but Jensen is struggling to come to terms with a possible betrayal from his own Renegade troops.

The relationship between Jensen and Layla is one of second chances, of a sorts. A high school romance that was abruptly halted before is began, is forced to pick up in the wake of death threats against our story line couple. There are no $ex scenes as our couple find themselves fighting for their lives.

The secondary and supporting characters include the introduction of Tad Bensen, and the return of Creed, Maddox, Caleb and Julian Rain.

HE IS JENSEN: Part One introduces the next arc of the series, as the Renegades must stop the distribution and production of the street drug ICE, before humanity loses control. The premise is intriguing, dark and dramatic; the characters are dynamic and desperate. HE IS JENSEN: Part One ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Years earlier, in an effort to protect the woman he love, Damion walked out of Alana’s life, leaving a heart broken and angry woman in his wake. Fast forward to present day wherein Damion has returned to claim our story line heroine but the predator has become more dark and dangerous. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

All of the previous secondary and supporting characters return including Alana’s embattled parents, Damion’s father, as well as the appearance of Blake Walker, Adam and Savage.

SCORNED QUEEN is, once again, a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, greed and jealousy, issues of trust, blackmail and deceit. The fast paced, character driven premise is intriguing and dramatic; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and dynamic but there is too much waffling, back and forth from our story line heroine. SCORNED QUEEN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

REVIEW: HE IS …CREED Part 1 is the first instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult WINDWALKERS sci-fi, romance series focusing on supersoldier Creed, and scientist Dr. Addie Lawrence.

NOTE: HE IS ..CREED is the re-release and reimagined story first introduced as Michael/ The Legend of Michael (Zodius Series) but has been completely rewritten with new content, characters, names and premise.

Told from several first person perspectives including Creed and Addie HE IS …CREED follows Dr. Addie Lawrence as she struggles with a government experiment, using alien DNA to create an army of super soldiers, DNA injected without the soldiers’ permission. In the wake of her mother’s death from an automobile accident, Addie begins working at Area 51, continuing the work of her late mother, only to discover that her father General Lawrence, has been keeping secrets, and Addie’s life may be in danger. Enter super soldier Creed, the man with whom Addie will fall in love. What ensues is the building and fated relationship between Creed and Addie, and the potential fall-out as a super soldier with even more superior DNA threatens to take over the world.

The world building introduces some of the background surrounding the discover of the alien DNA, and the soldiers who have been injected. As the experiment continues to grow, some of the soldiers will find love, their fated mates, something the US government and army refuses to accept. The premise is a familiar story but entertaining and interesting, none the less.

The relationship between Creed and Addie is one of immediate attraction. Our couple are drawn towards one another, and the frequency of their interactions is increasing the likelihood of a fated coupling but all is not well; Creed has other plans, and pushes away the woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and powerful secondary and supporting characters including fellow scientists Ava and Katie; super soldiers Caleb and Julian, as well as Addie’s father General Lawrence. Everyone has an ulterior motive, and no one is safe when the soldiers take control.

HE IS …CREED Part 1 introduces some of the background and build up of a powerful army made up of super soldiers, soldiers created to be used and controlled but there is enough human DNA mixed with the alien DNA that proves power comes from all sources, and the combination may threaten the world. The fast paced premise is intriguing and compelling; the romance is provocative and fated; the characters are powerful and determined. HE IS …CREED Part 1 ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

REVIEW: DIRTY LITTLE VOW is the sixth instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult THE NECKLACE romantic suspense series, and the third book in Tyler and Bella’s trilogy. DIRTY LITTLE VOW is the continuing story of attorneys thirty-four year old Tyler Hawk, and twenty-seven year old Bella Bailey. DIRTY LITTLE VOW should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book two SWEET SINNER. Bella is Dash Black’s (The Necklace trilogy) half-sister.

SOME BACKGROUND: Bella Bailey works as a contract attorney at Hawk Legal but months earlier, Tyler’s father, embittered and embroiled founder Jack Hawk murdered his girlfriend, and lost his own life in the fall-out. Fast forward three months, Tyler Hawk has yet to come to terms with the possible ramifications of what happened and why, when the reading of the will sends Tyler’s life into another unstoppable spiral. Conditions must be met, and if not, Tyler would lose everything he has accomplished including the woman he refuses to love.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Tyler and Bella) DIRTY LITTLE VOW picks up after the events and cliff hanger of SWEET SINNER in which Bella is about to be used as a pawn in an effort to push Tyler Hawk into revealing the whereabouts of some important documentation. As Tyler, and Bella’s brother Dash begin a frantic search for our story line heroine, Bella must face down a man who is determined to scare her into revealing the truth. The sins of the father have come full circle, and Tyler Hawk is caught between saving the woman he loves, and searching for something he knows nothing about.

The relationship between Bella and Tyler continues to build for our couple spend most of the current story line separate, and without a means of contacting one another. For the sake of the company, and the future going forward, Tyler must prove his relationship with Bella is real, a relationship in which Tyler is hoping for a happily ever after. The limited $ex scenes are passionate.

Once again, all of the same secondary and supporting characters return including Bella’s brother Dash and his fiance Allison Wright, attorney Gavin McCloud, and fixer / ex CIA agent Dierk Jordan, as well as businessman Knox Allen, and a man of impeccable dress but questionable reputation Oliver.

DIRTY LITTLE VOW is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, hatred and perseverance, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic and intense; the romance is limited but desperate; the characters are determined and charismatic.

Told from first person perspective (Lilah), and several chapters from Kane Mendez, THE GHOST ASSASSIN picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book eight in which someone working closely with our story line heroine is dead, an assassin’s bullet meant to send a message to Lilah Love. Throughout the series, Lilah has been looking into an organization known as The Society, a powerful group that controls many of the politicians, law enforcement personnel, and the rich and famous, and it is this group that may or may not be targeting the people at the top. As Lilah and her intrepid group of specialists begin to slowly unravel the clues, Lilah finds herself facing down the person who may be responsible for killing them all.

Meanwhile, Lilah’s husband, and Mexican cartel heir Kane Mendez, finds himself at a crossroads. As the heir apparent, Kane must come to terms with his future going forward but similar to Lilah’s investigation, the people surrounding Kane are dying at the hands of someone in charge.

The world building continues to focus on Lilah Love’s frenzied determination to take down the bad guys but the bad guys are often someone Lilah knows. As Lilah’s investigation takes on a personality of its’ own, Lilah’s home life is sitting on the precipice of a hole from which neither she nor Kane will be able to recover.

Once again, there is a large ensemble of secondary and supporting characters including Lilah’s bodyguard Jay, Kane’s bodyguard Kit; NYPD Chief Houston, interim FBI Director David Ellis ; Lilah’s brother Andrew; hacker Lucas Davenport; forensics tech Jack Cox, medical examiner Danica Day; and Lilah’s IT guru Jeff ‘TicTac’ Landers, most of whom are the hunter/gatherers of Lilah’s investigations. We are introduced to a new team of FBI agents, an assassin who goes by Ghost; and the return of someone long thought buried and gone.

THE GHOST ASSASSIN is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, murder and assassinations, struggles, acceptance, friendships and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing, thought provoking and fascinating, and covers but a couple of days in the life of Lilah Love and her husband Kane Mendez; the characters are determined and dynamic.
