This is thirty-four year old, resort owner Cooper Cochran, and twenty-five year old, landscaper Phoenix Rose, as well as scuba instructor Baxter McNab and twenty eight year old Ridley Rose’s story lines.

Told from several third person perspectives COOPER’S CHARM follows the building relationships between is thirty-four year old, resort owner Cooper Cochran, and twenty-five year old, landscaper Phoenix Rose, as well as scuba instructor Baxter McNab and Phoenix’s twenty eight year old sister Ridley Rose. Phoenix Rose is trying to escape her brutal past, a past that has left our heroine a shell of her former self. A landscaper by trade, Phoenix is about to embark on a new career as the groundskeeper for Cooper’s Charm RV Park and Resort. Meeting her new boss Cooper Cochran stirred something in Phoenix, long thought denied, an immediate attraction to a man whose own past is mired in grief and loss. What ensues is the building relationship between Phoenix and Cooper, and the potential fall-out as someone is targeting Phoenix and the people at Cooper’s Charm.

COOPER’S CHARM is a sweet and sexy story about two sassy sisters who will turn Cooper’s Charm upside down. Lori Foster pulls the reader into an engaging and delightful tale focusing on second chances, friendships, heartbreak and love. The premise is entertaining; the romances are passionate and steamy; the characters are colorful and fun. My only complaint is the identity of the person threatening Phoenix Rose-a questionable identity in the grand scheme of villains and dastardly schemes.

REVIEW:  FAST BURN is the fourth (and final?) instalment in Lori Foster’s contemporary, adult BODY ARMOR romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Body Armor Security. This is MMA fighter Brand Berry, and Body Armor manager Sahara Silver’s story line. FAST BURN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives including Brand and Sahara FAST BURN follows the building relationship between MMA fighter Brand Berry, and Body Armor owner and boss Sahara Silver. Since the disappearance and presumed death of her brother Scott, Sahara Silver has taken over the hiring and management of Body Armor Security. Hoping to lure Brand Berry as a potential member of her security team Sahara battles between her head and her heart as her attraction to the MMA fighter begins to interfere in their professional relationship. When several threats against our heroine’s life implicate more problems for her missing brother Brand Berry steps in as Sahara’s personal bodyguard-both in and out of the office. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Brand and Sahara, and the potential fall-out as her brother’s past is seeking revenge, using Sahara as a pawn in a twisted game of vengeance and power.

Brand Berry’s attraction to Sahara is tempered by her take-charge attitude, an attitude our hero knows very well. An alpha to the core Brand struggles with Sahara’s power and authority fearing falling in love with a woman who has the potential to emasculate our hero both in and out of the bedroom. Sahara is a strong-willed heroine who is not afraid to tell it like it is. Falling for Brand Berry meant occasionally stepping back and letting the man with whom she is falling in love, take charge in order to protect her life. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of familiar secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story line couples: Leese and Catalina (Under Pressure #1), Justice and Fallon (Hard Justice #2), Miles and Maxi (Close Contact #3), and Sahara’s PA Enoch. We are introduced to Brand’s parents John and Ann, as well as Brand’s birth mother Becky. The requisite evil has several faces, many connected to Sahara’s brother’s past.

The world building continues to focus on protection, suspense, romance and love. The MMA aspect is negligible with only a couple of mentions about potential fights, in the future.

FAST BURN is a fast paced, energetic and suspense filled story of revenge, power, secrets and lies. The premise is spirited, powerful and driving; the characters are rugged, determined and colorful; the romance is seductive and passionate. FAST BURN is an electrifying and dramatic story about two people pulled together by circumstance, attraction and love.

Brand shook his head. “Truth is, Sahara, I can’t see myself working for you.”
Wow. Now that hurt. Peeved, she moved away from him to sit in the chair behind her desk. A power position.
She met his gaze without flinching. “I see.” No, she didn’t.
“You’re too pushy.” He smiled as he said it, taking away some of the sting of that nasty observation. “And too used to getting your way. You love being in charge, but then, so do I.”
Never in her life had she been so offended. “Those insults are your way of telling me you don’t like me?”
She rose from the chair again without realizing it, hands flat on the surface of the desk as she leaned toward him in challenge. “I got a very different impression.”
“I like you,” he confirmed, but then added, “because you’re not my boss.” He surprised her by mimicking her position until their noses almost touched over the middle of her desk.
She didn’t know where to look. His eyes drew her, so dark they were almost black, and always filled with wickedness.
Then there was his firm mouth set in that small, teas¬ing smile that did crazy things to her. High cheekbones, a strong jaw, a masculine nose…
And oh, what that straight-armed pose did for his biceps.
She inhaled…and breathed in the scent of warm, musky male.
It seemed imperative to put some space between them so she slowly straightened.
Brand’s smile widened and he, too, straightened. “Coward.”
“Oh no,” she corrected. “But I have priorities that take precedence over…other things.”
He went back to crossing his arms. “Over me, you mean.”
“Nonsense. You are a top priority right now. I want you on the team.”
“The agency isn’t a team, Sahara. It’s you dictating and others following orders.”
She said through her teeth, “I’m the coach. I direct, encourage and—” Bossed. “—cheer. Rah-rah and all that.”
He laughed.
Not with her, no. He laughed at her.
“Where did you work before you took over here?”
Was he genuinely interested or just trying to move past her obvious irritation? Not that she’d stay irate long. It was a waste of time. She was more about positive for¬ward strides.
Or getting even.
For now she’d work on moving forward by answering his question. “Before Scott disappeared, he often had me involved with the business. I learned everything here from the ground up.”
“Describe ‘ground.’”

This is single father and accountant Hogan Guthrie, and diner owner Violet Shaw’s story line. There is a secondary romance developing between former SWAT team member and Sheriff Nathan Hawley, and jewelry designer Brooklin Sweet. WORTH THE WAIT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives WORTH THE WAIT follows two developing romances. Hogan Guthrie thought he had everything figured out but the death of his wife left Hogan a single father financially struggling to make good on a promise he made to his seventeen-year old son Colt. Working as the part-time barbecue master at Screwy Louie’s alongside the woman he can’t stop thinking about Hogan battles to separate business from pleasure. Enter diner owner Violet Shaw, his boss, and the woman with whom Hogan will fall in love. But all of Hogan’s attempts at seduction are pushed aside as Violet struggles with Hogan’s reputation as a one-night stand kinda guy. This is waitress/student/cleaning person Ashley Miles, and successful businessman Quinton Murphy’s story line. MURPHY’S LAW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although some of the premise is predicated on the events of book on. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. The reader is first introduced to the couple in book one-Jude’s Law.

Told from several third person perspectives including Ashley and Quinton MURPHY’S LAW focuses on the building relationship between thirty three year old successful and wealthy businessman Quinton Murphy, and twenty seven year old, struggling student and waitress Ashley Miles. Ashley is part of the cleaning crew in the office building where Quinton’s family owned consulting firm leases space, and Quinton’s attraction to Ashley is compounded by her refusal to trust the man who is offering her the world. With her best friend’s wedding only days away, Quinton offers himself as Ashley’s plus-one hoping for a chance with the spunky cleaning lady who has caught his eye. But someone is stalking our story line heroine, and the threats against her life are becoming more dangerous and personal. What ensues is the romantic relationship between our leading couple, and Quinton’s struggle to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The relationship between Quinton and Ashley begins as a mutual attraction although Ashley struggles with issues of money, trust, and low self-esteem. The trust issue comes into play several times throughout the story when Quinton’s actions prove that, he too, struggles with Ashley’s less than stellar background and upbringing. As a virgin our heroine has very little experience with men but Quinton has offered to take it slow in his relationship with Ashley Miles. The $ex scenes are intimate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The colorful secondary and supporting characters include former MMA fighter Denny Zip, Jude Jamison, May Price and May’s brother Tim from book one JUDE’S LAW. Ashley’s friendship with May finds our heroine the target of revenge when someone from Jude’s past returns for vengeance.

MURPHY’S LAW is a sweet story with a little bit of mystery, suspense and romance. The story line is predictable; the conflict resolution is quick and with very little fanfare-I was hoping for a little ‘more’. The premise is heartwarming; the romance is encouraging; the characters are animated and spirited. MURPHY’S LAW is an engaging story line with a happily ever after.

The premise is moving; the characters are realistic and tangible; the romance is a quick build to love and forever. HARD JUSTICE is a provocative look at one woman’s struggle to move on with her life.

Waiting.
Again his gaze trapped her. He had a way of staring that consumed a person. Beside him her father looked small, even though Clayton Wade stood nearly six feet tall and looked very distinguished with his silver-tipped hair and impeccable manner.
Holding the handrail and attempting a smile, Fal¬lon started down.
“You will remember your place,” her father said to the man.
Oh, dear God. Mortified, Fallon wailed, “Dad.”
“My place?” the man asked.
“As an avuncular escort who will, at all costs, en¬sure her safety.”
Fallon wanted to disappear. Did her father honestly think that massive hunk of macho man would be at¬tracted to her?
He looked merely confused, not insulted, so she rushed to move beyond her father’s awkward reprimand.
“You’re my protection detail?”
“Afraid so.”
What did that mean? Did he regret the assignment already—or was he expecting her to regret him? She waited, but he said nothing else, just tracked her every step as she descended.

There are plenty lighthearted moments when the Ultimate fighters get together and reminisce about times past. “You do tempt me,” she whispered, her smile in place. “I didn’t realize it was mutual though.”
“Now you do.” And maybe she’d be more circum¬spect.
“Because I’m convenient?” she asked. “Or some¬what—” her expression pinched “—desperate?”
The uncertainty twisted his guts. He glanced at her mouth. “Because you’re hot.”
Her teeth bit into her bottom lip. “You really think so?”
Intuitively knowing she needed to hear it, he shared his thoughts. It wasn’t in the best interest of his sanity, but he liked seeing her blush.
He especially liked the way she looked at him.
“You, lady, are sexiness in a very small, sweet pack¬age.”
“Usually I’m told I’m too thin.”
Leese slowly shook his head. “You have the right look and the right attitude to push all my buttons.”
Gifting him with that cocky smile he admired, she opened her hands on his chest. “Mmm. I think I like that.”
“What?”
“Pushing your buttons.” Her fingers trailed up to his shoulders, then around his neck.
Leese started to lean down when Justice knocked again.
Cat froze, then panicked. “Oh my God. That’s Jus¬tice, right? I forgot all about him!” She pushed against Leese, trying to slide free.
He wanted to groan.
In truth, he should thank Justice for keeping him from doing anything insane. “Shh. Take it easy.” He rolled to the side of her and watched her shoot off the bed, then make a mad dash around to the bedroom.
Her ass looked really nice as she did so.
After scrubbing both hands over his face, Leese forced himself from the bed and went to the door. He peeked out first.
Justice stood there holding a tray with coffee and a basket of Danish pastries. Time to get the day started.

REVIEW:  DON’T TEMPT ME is the first installment in Lori Foster’s contemporary, adult GUTHRIE BROTHERS romance series. This is handyman Jason Guthrie, and hair stylist Honor Brown’s story line. There is a secondary romance building between Honor’s best friend Lexie Perkins, and martial arts instructor Sullivan Dean.

Told from several third person points of view DON’T TEMPT ME follows the building relationship between Jason Guthrie, and his new neighbor –the independent, stubborn and feisty Honor Brown. Honor has recently purchased the run-down property next to Jason’s house and is surprised when the neighborhood welcome brigade, consisting of Jason, his brother Hogan, and nephew Colt, offer to help clean up and repair what needs to be done. Jason is a handy man; a carpenter whose attraction to Honor is immediate and intense. As the story line builds Jason begins to notice that his new neighbor leaves her house at all hours of the night leaving Jason to wonder what’s going on in Honor’s life. Honor has a secret, one that is neither dangerous nor dark, but our heroine is a private person who refuses to ask for help when the going gets rough. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the over the top sexually graphic text and imagery.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including a number of Honor’s extended family who have a difficult time accepting our story line heroine –there is so much animosity between the members of her family that it is surprising Honor has let things get so out of hand. We are introduced to Honor’s best friend Lexie who has fallen for Jason’s neighbor across the street- Sullivan Dean. Sullivan is a martial arts instructor who mentors at-risk children and youth. Jason’s brother Hogan Guthrie has hit upon some difficult times and finds himself, along with his seventeen year old son Colt, taking up residence at his brother’s house. Hogan has caught the attention of the local bar owner Violet; and Colt is having some difficulty acclimating to his new surroundings. Nathan Hawley is the local law enforcement officer and we have yet to see any sort of relationship development for him.

DON’T TEMPT ME is a delightful story about family, love and friendship. The premise is sexy and romantic; the characters are colorful and eclectic; the romance is heartwarming, hopeful and slow to build. Lori Foster’s DON’T TEMPT ME is the perfect read for a lazy day at the beach.

REVIEW: FIGHTING DIRTY is the fourth installment in Lori Foster’s contemporary, adult ULTIMATE MMA, erotic romance series. This is MMA fighter Armie (Quick) Jacobson, and bank manager Merissa Colter’s storyline. FIGHTING DIRTY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Several of the previous storyline couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles.

Told from several third person perspectives FIGHTING DIRTY follows the building relationship between Armie and Merissa. Merissa is Cannon’s younger sister-Cannon is technically Armie’s boss and best friend-and Merissa is considered off limits by Armie. When Merissa’s bank is robbed, and Merissa is assaulted by one of the robbers, Armie goes into alpha protective mode but fears Merissa’s presence in his home will destroy what little hold he has over his need for the woman he has loved most of his life.

FIGHTING DIRTY focuses on a series of ‘accidents’ in Merissa’s life that Armie blames on himself. If not for his dark and hidden past, Armie believes Merissa would be safe from harm. But Merissa’s past has decided to reclaim what he believes belongs to him, and Merissa becomes a target in a game of ‘winner take all’.

The relationship between Merissa and Armie is a forbidden romance, friends to lovers trope. The world building continues to focus on the fighters of the MMA: their lives, their loves, their need to protect and their introduction into the world of professional mixed marshal arts. We are witness to the training regimens, the underground gossip, and the matches that prove who is the ultimate fighting machine.

FIGHTING DIRTY has a little bit of everything: humor, fun, romance, love, sex, fighting and conflict. There are some heartbreaking moments when Armie’s past resurfaces, and the parallel lifestyle of a young boy whose own family life is about to implode.
