Description:

Two opposites will find out if one night together is enough to get each other out of their systems in the final book in the beloved Lovelight series.

Nova Porter isn’t looking for love, and she certainly has no explanation for her attraction to buttoned-up, three-piece-suit-wearing investment banker Charlie Milford. Maybe it’s his charm? Or maybe it’s his determination to help her fledgling business however he can. Either way, she’s distracted every time he’s around. With her new tattoo studio set to open in her hometown of Inglewild, she doesn’t have time for frivolous flirtations.

In an effort to get Charlie out of her system once and for all, Nova offers a proposition. One night. No strings. They’ll kick their uncomfortable attraction to the curb and return to their respective responsibilities. But their explosive night together scatters their expectations like fallen leaves. And with Charlie in town as the temporary head of Lovelight Farms, Nova can’t quite avoid him.

And Charlie? Well, Charlie knows a good investment when he sees one. He’s hoping he can convince Nova he’s worth some of her time.

Review:

Business Casual by B.K. Borison is the 4th book in her Lovelight series. I loved the first three books in this series, as they were wonderful sweet romances, and sad to say that this is the final book in this series.  Nova Porter, our heroine, isn’t interested in looking for love, as she is concentrating on her doing the final touches of perfection within her new tattoo studio; in her hometown of Inglewild. Nova’s family has always supported her, and she worries about disappointing them.

Charlie Milford, our hero, is an investment banker in New York; but he loves constantly visiting his half-sister, Stella and her Christmas Tree Farm (Lovelight) and the residents of Inglewild. Charlie is always happy when he visits Stella; and even participates being part of the Town’s phone tree for latest gossips.   Charlie has arranged to stay in Inglewild for a month, as he is sending Stella and her husband, Luka, to Italy for a month. Charlie will work with Stella’s partners, as he will happily take care of Stella’s duties at the farm.

Everything starts at the wedding ceremony of Stella and Luka. Charlie is a shameless flirter, and always pays close attention to Nova. After a few drinks, she willingly accepts when Charlie asks her to dance. After a bit, Nova asks Charlie to come to her house when the wedding is over.  What Charlie didn’t realize, that Nova was looking for a one-night no-strings stand, and he thought she meant stopping over for snacks.  Which irritated Nova and she stormed away; but a few days later, Charlie tries to explain his mistake and Nova cannot hold back her attraction to him.  They decide to hook up for one night, and move on with their lives; but their explosive night together changes everything.  Best laid plans do not always work, as their attraction to each other escalates.

What follows is a sweet, steamy and endearing romance relationship between Nova and Charlie, as they had awesome chemistry. I loved seeing all the fabulous characters we got to know throughout the series; such as Stella, Luka, Beckett, Evie, Layla and Caleb.

Business Casual was another fun, heartwarming, cute, sweet romance, another great couple, and terrific secondary characters that we have all come to love. I did feel that this final book was even steamier than the previous book.  I adored the epilogue that was a fantastic ending to this series. Business Casual was a great series, and so very well written by B.K. Borison.

Mixed Signals by B.K. Borison – a Review

Mixed Signals by B.K. Borison – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Bookbub

Description:
Layla Dupree has given up on love.

She’s waded through all of the fish in the sea, each one more disappointing than the last. Apparently owning the bakery at Inglewild’s most romantic destination does not help one’s love life—despite her best efforts. All she wants is a partner who gives her butterflies, not someone who ghosts her at dinner and leaves her with the check.

Good thing Caleb Alvarez has the perfect solution.

After saving Layla from another date gone bad, he has a simple proposition: One month of no-strings dating. He’ll do his best to renew her faith in men while she rates his dating game. It’s a win-win situation. All the benefits of dating, without the added pressure of feelings and unmet expectations.

But there’s one ingredient they haven’t considered. The chemistry between them is red hot and the urge to take things to the next level is more tempting than Layla’s double fudge mocha brownies.

Will the heat between them boil over? Or will it be another case of mixed signals?

Mixed Signals is a sweet and steamy small-town romance. Our story features a bashful man who can rock a Hawaiian shirt, a hopeful and dreamy bakery owner, enough sweets to give you a cavity, and your favorite Inglewild residents. Mixed Signals is a standalone romance and the third book in the Lovelight series.

Review:

Mixed Signals by B.K. Borison is the third book in her wonderful Lovelight series.  I loved the first two books in this series, as they were wonderful sweet romances; and happy to say I that Layla and Caleb’s story, was equally as good.

Layla Dupree, our heroine and fabulous baker, is the lead in this story.  Layla has no success in dating, with so many terrible experiences; she is just about to give up.  Caleb, who has had a crush on Layla for a long time, as he is a regular to her bakery; he sees her on a date, with a guy who leaves her with the check.  She is frustrated, and Caleb suggests they try to help each other, to figure out what they both are doing wrong; they agree to make an arrangement to date each other for a month. One month of no-strings dating; with no pressure of feelings and expectations. Caleb was sweet, fun, and sexy; and he wants to prove to Layla that she keeps dating the wrong men, as she deserves to have someone treat her with kindness, care, and devotion. In a short time, the chemistry between is sizzling, with things changing drastically.  I loved Caleb and Layla together, as they made such a wonderful couple.

What follows is a sweet wonderful endearing romance between Caleb and Layla, with us hoping to find the happiness they both deserved. Layla was a fabulous heroine, as she was sweet, caring, and a fantastic baker (loved all the desserts). Caleb was totally hooked into Layla, and was fantastic hero, who was determined to show Layla how to love.   The secondary characters were all so great, which included Stella, Luka, Evie, Beckett, and Caleb’s family.

Mixed Signals was another fun, cute, sweet romance, great couple, terrific secondary characters in this continuation of the Lovelight series. Mixed Signals was a wonderful story, that was not only fun, but probably steamier then the previous two books. Even though this is the third book, I do hope Borison gives us more in this series, as she creates terrific couples.  I suggest you read this series, as it’s a fun sweet story, and very well written by B.K. Borison.

Two best friends fake date to reach their holiday happily ever after in this first romantic comedy in the Lovelight series.

A pasture of dead trees. A hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons. And shipments that have mysteriously gone missing. Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.

In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, Stella enters a contest with Instagram-famous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, Stella might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on her application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only…there is no boyfriend.

Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just stopped by for some hot chocolate and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process. But fake dating his best friend might be the best Christmas present he’s ever received.

Review:

Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is the first book in her Lovelight series. Stella Bloom, our heroine, is the owner of Lovelight Farms. She loves the farm, and she has two great people in charge of various areas, Beckett and Layla; but of late, due to someone sabotaging the farm, Stella is having financial problems.  A number of dead trees, damaged fence, raccoons, pumpkins and decorations have been destroyed, and shipments stolen. Stella keeps her problems to herself, not to worry her friends on the farm. She enters a contest, with a $100,000 cash prize, and she lied on the application, noting that her boyfriend is part owner; but Stella has no boyfriend.

Luka Peters (hero) is Stella’s best friend for over 10 years, and now that she is desperate, she asks Luka if he will pretend to be her boyfriend for the week when the famous influencer Evelyn St. James, arrives to check out Lovelight Farms. She worries, since she wants to keep their close-knit friendship safe.  What follows is a sweet friend to lovers’ relationship between Stella and Luka. It was great to watch Luka and Stella slowly begin to feel their amazing chemistry, as well as the fun and sexual banter.

Stella was a fantastic heroine, as she was sweet, independent, and caring.  Luka was not only very handsome, but kind and helpful with everyone; you can see the love he had for Stella.  She was feeling strong vibes for Luka, but she feared to lose their friendship.  The secondary characters were all so great, especially Layla and Beckett, who were more like partners with Stella; Dane the police chief was also good, and he discovered to the person sabotaging the farm.

Lovelight Farms was a fun, cute, sweet romance, with wonderful characters.  The epilogue was very good at the end.  Lovelight Farms was so very well written by B.K. Borison. There are two or three books still to come in this series, with Beckett and Layla to each get their own story line.
