ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 15, 2019

She’s a beauty. He’s a beast. Only her love can make him whole.

As a lycan, Barrett is physically superior, built like a god, with movie star good looks. But he’s hindered by one small defect. He was born mute, and for a lycan, being mute is the kiss of death. Terrified that he could pass on his inability to speak to his offspring, female lycans in search of a mate pass him over every mating season, leaving him desperately alone.

Orphaned as a baby, Raven has no idea she’s a lycan. Raised as a human, she ends up marrying her college sweetheart. But after years struggling to conceive, her marriage comes to a heartbreaking end. Hoping for a fresh start, she moves west. When she meets Barrett, there’s no denying her attraction to him, or the way the odd sensations she’s been battling for weeks intensify into an aroused, dizzying frenzy anytime he’s near.

In one passionate, turbulent night, Barrett finds what he’s waited a lifetime for, even as Raven’s life unravels into a frightening new reality. When the dust settles, will what they’ve found in each other be enough to keep them together? Or will the truth be too much to overcome?

Welcome to the next chapter of All the King’s Men. In Raven’s Gift, author Donya Lynne gives readers a more in-depth look at the lycans she introduced in the novel, BLACK. For a reference to the series timeline, Raven’s Gift takes place at the same time as Rise of the Fallen.

NOTE: Raven’s Gift was originally written as a novella for the Fangs Fur and Fa La La holiday anthology. This rerelease includes over 10,000 new words, making it a novel.

REVIEW: RAVEN’S GIFT is the tenth instalment (and novella) in Donya Lynne’s contemporary, adult ALL THE KING’S MEN paranormal, romance series. This is lycan shifter and home renovator Barrett Lowe, and twenty-five year old, occupational therapist Raven Di Marco’s story line. RAVEN’S GIFT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary. Raven’s Gift takes place at the same time as Rise of the Fallen (All the King’s Men #1).

NOTE: RAVEN’S GIFT was originally released in the December 2018, multi-authored anthology Fangs, Fur and Fa La La but the author has added an additional 10,000 words for the new release.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Barrett and Raven) RAVEN’S GIFT follows the building relationship between lycan shifter and home renovator Barrett Lowe, and twenty-five year old, occupational therapist Raven Di Marco. Barrett Lowe and his brother Julian had no idea that their new tenant, Raven DiMarco, was a lycan shifter, an unmated, female, lycan shifter entering into her most fertile period, the infloria. Unaware of her lycan heritage, Raven is a prime target for all unmated male lycans. After one failed attacked, hoping to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love, Barrett and his brother Julian are forced to take Raven to the lycan compound where our heroine will learn the true nature of the beast. What ensues is the building relationship between Raven and Barrett, and the potential fall-out as Raven struggles with the unreality of her new life.

Barrett Lowe is considered imperfect; damaged goods amongst the lycan population. Born mute, Barrett is an unacceptable mate for the female shifters, females who see Barrett as unworthy and unlikely to produce healthy offspring. Raven DiMarco’s first marriage was a failure, ending in divorce when she was unable to get pregnant, Raven moves to Tuscon Arizona in the hopes of starting anew, never dreaming that her life was about to dramatically change.

The relationship between Raven and Barrett is one of immediate attraction, an attraction not only predicated on lycan DNA but the sexual, palpable energy of want and need. The $ex scenes are passionate and intimate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to a large number of the lycan population including mated couple Siron and Jupiter; Barrett’s brothers Julian and Chase Lowe; as well as Priest, Rameses and Wrex; Payne, Titus, Sinner, Klaw and Krul.

RAVEN’S GIFT introduces a number of the characters and Lycan’s in Donya Lynne’s world of All the King’s Men. For fans of the series, the lycans were first introduced in the BLACK (AKM #8) but you do not have to have read the previous instalment to follow or comprehend. The premise is spirited and imaginative; the characters are animated; the romance is fated and captivating.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 14, 2013

ONE LOOK WILL CHANGE THEIR LIVES FOREVER

Lingerie designer Alicia Clarkson just had to open her stupid mouth. Now thanks to trying to defend a fellow pack mate, Alicia’s been blindfolded, tied up, and carted off to the new alpha of the Oregon pack—Gavin MacKellen.

However, the blindfold doesn’t come off so soon as Gavin reveals he’s searching for a mate. But Alicia’s curiosity gets fired up when Gavin refuses to reveal his face to her. Just what happened to him? He talks to her from shadowy corners and behind closed doors. The man is as allusive as a squirrely fox. But Alicia doesn’t play games and the quiet spoken, hoarse-voiced alpha doesn’t stand a chance against her. They settle on an agreement, thirty days for them to get to know each other because that’s the only way this cowboy alpha will have it.

Gavin MacKellen needs a mate. But he knows no good woman would ever want to look at his face after the incident he suffered. After one look at Alicia Clarkson all his plans fly out the window. The woman’s beauty has stunned him damn near speechless. She torments his thoughts and Gavin finds himself yearning to know everything about her. As a relationship forms and love threatens to grow between them, Gavin struggles to cope with his physical appearance in the face of the beautiful Alicia. Will she be the one to stand in the face of a monster and accept him or will she turn her back on him?

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: THE LONELIEST ALPHA is the first storyline in T.A.Grey’s new series-The MacKellen Alphas. This is Gavin MacKellen and Alicia Clarkson’s story-a story of beauty and the beast.

As the blurb says, Gavin is searching for a mate. As the new alpha of the Oregon pack, Gavin needs a mate to stand by his side and support him in his role as leader, but there are no available females in his pack –or at least – there are none who are willing to mate with a man whose face has been ravaged by an attack. When his lieutenants kidnap several potential females from other packs, Gavin will find himself intrigued and attracted to feisty lingerie designer Alicia Clarkson. But Gavin refuses to show his face and forces himself into the shadows where Alicia is unable to get a clear view.

The storyline progresses as Gavin begins to fall for Alicia, knowing he would have to reveal his appearance but for the time being Alicia is kept in the dark or blindfolded whenever in the company of the Oregon alpha. Their relationship is obviously acrimonious in the beginning but will become one of friends to lovers when Alicia’s life is threatened on numerous occasions. Believing a former alpha rival is to blame, Gavin will go in search of proof to his guilt only to find that another member of his pack, once closer to home, is leading the assaults against the alpha and his mate.

The relationship between Gavin and Alicia is slow to build because of Gavin’s reluctance to reveal his scars but Alicia is having nothing to do with his secrets and pushes Gavin at every opportunity until another threat against her life has the truth finally revealed. I don’t know if Gavin felt sorry for himself, but he definitely had issues with the scars and disfigurement- a once seductively beautiful man, Gavin has been reduced to the wounds and stigma of an attack that was both personal and familiar.

There is no question that Gavin knows Alicia is his mate but the only question is whether Alicia will accept Gavin-scars and all. Gavin is a well respected and trusted alpha but there are problems plaguing his pack and it is his responsibility to uncover the who and what behind the threats and missing members.

The world building is smooth but limited as a good portion of the story focuses on Alicia. I would have liked to learn more about the pack dynamics but as this was only the introductory storyline perhaps there will be more revelations in future installments. The characters are colorful and Gavin’s sisters add plenty of humor when they ‘steal’ Alicia for a girl’s night out-I was laughing along with the trio. But one thing I did notice– there was no mention of shifting or characters shifting in the storyline-interesting considering this is a story of lycans and the paranormal.

THE LONELIEST ALPHA is a fast paced, and interesting spin on the Beauty and the Beast storyline phenomenon. This is a story of suspense and mystery, love and hate, betrayal and heartbreak, friends and family. T.A. Gray pulls the reader into the storyline of one man’s need for a mate, only to be refused over and over because of his scars. But in the end it is the scars in his heart that will be healed first-when he is willing to die for the woman he loves.

REVIEW: Long ago, Demons and Lycans have lived in harmony… Until one kind, humans, decided to change that. For the Lycans, it is to dominate or be dominated. And some have become ruthless, because of their nature that their numbers have suspiciously climbed. To control the growth of the Lycan population; and for other personal reasons, a mad scientist, General Jackson Wade, created an almost indestructible human army…the Alexi soldiers.

As a rule, Alexi soldiers are forbidden to pursue any of their personal vengeance. But Ayden isn’t just any other Alexi soldier. She is General Wade’s first and prized immortal creation to succeed. In addition, he alters the Alexi’s memories so they only remember the last few minutes of their attack. A fuel when it comes to combats with the Lycans. That memory alone and the mentality that she does not belong to no one, has made her decide to leave the compound and to seek revenge. Partnering up with the Sons of Wrath, demon warriors of vengeance, they have managed to eliminate a significant number of Lycans in the Detroit city. Still, something did not seem right…

Kane Walker, a Director for the Children’s Cancer Institute, has only days before he becomes one of Ayden’s most hated enemy. But with any physical contact with Ayden, images will flash in her mind. A memory? Hers, or the Lycan who had killed her? She does not know, and she’s determined to find out; promising his death in the end before his final transformation. However, going through with this new mission might mean a disaster to the rest of her Alexi life. So is she ready to find out the truth? And what will she do to Kane as he brings forth warm sensual feelings that are foreign yet pleasant to her?

SOUL AVENGED is the first novel of Keri Lakes new series the Sons of Wrath. As was stated above, Wrath demons are warriors of vengeance, they are the sons of the demon Prince, Wrath. They are responsible to punish those who have wronged on earth. Furthermore, they don’t make deals, rather they make contracts. That was how Ayden happened to be under their protection and has become her partners when seeking out to eradicate the Lycans.

This novel contains some gruesome scenes as are shown in horror films. As detailed as it was, the scene did not bother me…but for a reader with a weak stomach, might be a different story. This was an exciting and entertaining read. Although it’s Ayden’s and Kane’s story, meeting the sons of Wrath (Gavin, Logan, Calix, Zeke and his twin brother Zayne) makes it a quintuple excitement because they must find their Tazschla (mate) or suffer the Sovidon where it forces them to choose a mate to ensure the continuation of their species.
