Standing in the Light by M.A. Abraham – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / iTunes

Description:
Just as the yearly Celebration of Light comes to an end, the Kings of the Empire are ordered to travel to the city of Torendal by the Fates. A barely recovered Eden and Gabriel travel to the city as well, for she has been summoned to serve as the voice for the Great Guardian when the time is right.

The Kings wonder what task could take the talents of every leader in the Empire to accomplish, but they don’t hesitate to answer the call. What will their quest be this time, or will it be one? They can’t help but wonder how some of those from the Kingdoms that are in disarray will arrive in time as well. No one knows the answers to any of their questions. The only thing they can be certain of is the sense of destiny that is winding around their conscious beings and, that whatever awaits them, will catapult the Empire into a new era.

Review:

Standing in the Light by M.A. Abraham is the 3rd book in her One Empire series.   This is a very difficult review to write, as Standing in the Light is a novella, and more of an emotional story line that needs to be read.

Standing in the Light brings back all of the elves we have loved from the Eleven Chronicles, as well as the One Empire series.   As peace has come to many Elven kingdoms, the Great Guardian has called all the Kings together.

The Great Guardian, Sentinel and Talisman have made a plan to help each of the kingdoms bring their land back to prosperity, but to do so, they need young Tratchers to be sent to each of those lands.  They are responsible to nourish, protect and help in bringing the young saplings to life; as their goal is to be the voice for each of their Sentinels over the years.  The emotional impact is the this would change the lives of everyone, as their children will move on, even at a young age, with some older Tratchers to build their lives.

A big part of this is the Eagle Claw family who will find their family disrupted, but all of part of destiny.

Standing in the Light was a fast read, somewhat emotional, but a very well written story by M.A. Abraham that brings some things we loved to a close.

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / iTunes

Description:
Serena has escaped from her father’s control. She will not be held captive, not by a father who would mate her to one of his prime Dragon shifters, not even if the man is an Elven Prince.

Thieron returns to his home from a mission, only to find out that he has to go out again. This is not what he had planned, and he is not happy about having to change those plans. Not for a spoiled Elven Princess who won’t listen to reason.

They are both surprised, when they meet face to face to find that they are life mates, but it is never that simple with a Light Elven maiden

Review:

The Princess by M.A. Abraham is the 2nd book in her Guardians of the Empire series. The Princess is set in the same world as Abraham’s wonderful Elven Chronicles series, with this taking place long after the finale, and with a different set of characters.  When that series ended, all surviving humans were granted a land called The Valley, where they were able to live prosperous and in peace.   Over the years, these humans did not remember the Elves, who were hidden and unseen in their portal.  In the first book, we met the Guardians of the Empire, with Chania and Daeron as our heroine/hero.

The Princess begins with Thieron, the right hand man of King Gerolth being sent to find the King’s daughter, Serena, Chania’s sister and our heroine in this book. When Thieron goes to the Valley, he is stymied by the young and older elves, who are protecting the whereabouts of Serena.  Serena and Chania are having fun and neither wants to go home. When he finally finds Serena, to his shock, he sees she is his lifemate.  From there on in, Thieron will follow Serena to protect her, as will his brother Daeron (who follows Chania), as they return to the Valley with King Gerolth, who is looking at caves that can fit all of these huge Dragon shifters.    But soon they will meet with the Valley King, Britallia, and others to prepare for another possible attack on the Valley.

Another side story surrounds the enemy from the first book, who plan another attack.  Evart, one of the princes, helps his sister, Sonja escape.  She has been kept hidden from his father and brothers, as woman are looked down on and easily killed.  When she reaches the Valley, she will reveal all the secrets, especially the new threat of war.  This will bring together all who fought in the previous books, such great characters, as Gabriella, Britallia, Chania and all of the Guardians of the Empire, many of whom are looking at the women who may be their lifemates.

What follows is a fun, humorous and interesting story , where we will follow these wonderful women, great warriors/dragons as they prepare once again for a major battle for survival.

This is a difficult review, as much of the story revolves around Serena and Chania with their lifemates, King Gerolth meeting the people from the Valley, and then bringing in High Lord General (Gabriella) as well as the Guardians as they start preparations that will continue in the next book.  The Princess was an entertaining, fun, and serious story line, with a wonderfuj cast of characters.  I for one I cannot wait to see what comes next.  I suggest you start with The Goddess, and then follow-up with The Princess.  Once again M.A. Abraham entertains us with another promising series.

Spirit of the Light by M.A. Abraham – Review & Giveaway

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Smashwords

Description:

The main objective of the quest has been achieved, now the Fates had set the chosen Elves on the second part of the task. Now, it is time to face the journey back home and they are to bring the Kings of this long forgotten part of the Empire to meet with the others at the Counsel of Kings table.

There are hidden dangers to face, things which only the Elves they have found encased in the castle at the far end of the Empire know how to break through. To get home, it will take the combined talents of the Ancients, as well as those of the new generation to get past.

Old Kingdoms will be brought back from the brink of extinction, while Elves from different times and cultures find Life Mates and face the challenges it takes to return to where it all began. In the meantime, those in the established parts of the Elven Empire gather, to celebrate their time of Light and Life.

Review:

Spirit of the Light by M.A. Abraham is the 2nd book in her One Empire series.  Spirit of the Light picks up where Hidden Kingdoms (1st book) left off.  With the war just about over, the story concentrates on the journey home for the Elves who were assigned by the fates to save an ancient king, and found many hidden kingdoms along the way.  King Askander and his men are all in the stages of recovery, but he wants to gather his warriors to finally eliminate all the remaining demon hybrids, but the Elves will convince him to wait and allow them to bring in other ancients and their own powerful men to handle those hybrids. During an amazing spell to eliminate all hybrids, which also includes Eden & Gabriel’s fertility spell, which once again finds most female life mates pregnant.

Once the mission is complete, the elves will take the long and difficult journey back home, bringing the long forgotten ancients and kings of the Hidden Kingdoms to meet with the Counsel of Kings, and become part of the Elven Empire.  The length of time this journey will take also brings more difficulty as all the women are having their babies at the same time.

What follows is an interesting and fun adventure, as we get meet so many new characters of the younger generation, as well as the ancients.  There were so many characters in the story that it was hard to keep up with them, which amazes me how M.A. can blend all of the characters so well, and know who is who.

Spirit of the Light was a quick, nice and fun addition to the One Empire series. M.A. Abraham continues with her  trademark of exciting stories, fun bantering among the warriors, and the introduction of all the new characters; many of whom are young members of the Eagle Claw family.  If you are an Elven Chronicles fan, you need to read Hidden Kingdoms, than read Spirit of the Light.

Review:

Hidden Kingdoms by M.A. Abraham is the first book in her new One Empire series. The good news is that many fans of the Elven Chronicles will be thrilled to return to this world, in this new spin-off series. This story revolves around a quest that leads through the hidden kingdoms of the Elven Empire that were forgotten through the ages that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Years after the Drazon war, with the Elven Empire living in peace, and working hard to rebuild and restore from the effects of that war, the Kings are all summoned by the Oracle.  The Fates have ordered a quest to save a High King, who is slowly dying. The problem is that no one is aware of the far lands they will have to travel through, which was thought to be uncharted and empty territory. We then follow a select group of the younger generation, from various thriving kingdoms of the empire, who are chosen by the fates to travel into other unknown hidden kingdoms; they will face danger and discovery on this arduous and dangerous mission.

On each discovery of a different kingdom, the warriors will be meet many different elfs, as well as demon hybrids that were infiltrated into those territories.  Our Elfs will help each of the kingdoms to erase the enemy, as well as enlighten them on how much has changed in the Empire after the Drazon war.

What follows is an exciting, at times tense, action packed adventure, as we get to spend a lot of time with the younger generation, with some sneak peeks at some of our favorites from the Elven Chronicles.  There were so many characters in the story that it was hard to keep up with them, with the exception of the Eagle Claw family.  I am amazed how M.A. can blend all of the characters so well, and not miss a beat.  J

Hidden Kingdoms was a great start to this new series, which allows us to look forward to future books with those we meet in this book, as well as our favorites.  M.A. Abraham’s trademark of exciting adventures, fun bantering among the warriors continues in this new series, which introduces us to not only the younger generation of the Eagle Claw family, but more Kings and warriors from other unknown kingdoms that have been mostly dying over the years. If you are an Elven Chronicles fan, you cannot miss starting this new series, One Empire.   You will be glad you did.

The Siren Connection by M.A. Abraham – a Review

The Siren Connection by M.A. Abraham – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo

Description:
The oceans of Tantalus are teaming with Aquarians, the dangerous, predatory mammals that feed off anything that lands in their territory. What is strange about them is that they are avoiding the part of the ocean, close to the shoreline where Trysuil is planning to build the city of learning for the future generations. His question is, why this area? What is keeping them at bay?

As the water is no place for a winged man, Kyllan turns to his friends, the Sirens. They will soon get to the bottom of this, but it will come at a cost to the Tantalarians. The Sirens take one look at Tantalus and the sight of all that water feels like home. The home they knew on Mars never called to them in the same way and they know it is time to move on.

Review:

The Siren Connection by M.A. Abraham is a novella that is part of her Tantalus series. The Siren Connection continues the story of the Sirens from Mars moving to Tantalus.  As you already know from previous books, this series revolves around three species (Tantalarian,Humans, and Sirens) working together on the planet, Tantalus. With dangerous humans heading for Mars, Kyllan and Trysuil are determined to help all the Sirens move quickly to Tantalus. I love how the Tantalarian Saga continues to grow.

The focus of this novella concentrates on the Queen and King, and their Siren daughters, Errissa and Echoe, helping to gather all their people quickly move to Tantalus.  A private message to one of the Sirens comes from Earth, warning them all that trouble is coming far quicker than they thought.  Trysuil and Kyllan discover that they have all been betrayed by some of the humans who have been living in Tantalus, who have given out information for the Earth humans to come with weapons, in their attempt to take over their lands, causing war and destruction.

What follows is an excellent, quick and informative story line that will lead us to the eventual conclusion of this series. If you have not read this series, to tell too much more, would be spoilers.  You need to begin with the first book in order to learn about Tantalus and the Sirens, as well as to meet all the wonderful characters that Abraham has introduced us to in this series. M.A. Abraham has once again given us an exciting, enjoyable and interesting story as we race to the finish. I look forward with high anticipation to read the next book (Final Contact) , which I expect to be the finale, in 2019.

The last thing she expects is for Riven to follow her, or end up in a starring role in the same show, but his being by her side feels so right, and she can only wonder how that happened

Review:

Teryka Rose by M.A. Abraham is the 2nd book in her Daughters of the Valley Trilogy.  In the first book, Merika and Tyrus were our heroes, and in this book the heroine, is their daughter, Teryka Rose.  We get to know Teryka, as she is very popular, enjoying the attention given to her; but she sees others finding their mates, and she feels a change is necessary.

Riven, our hero, has always known since she was a child that Teryka was his mate.  He has waited all these years, but she sees him only as a friend.  Riven decides he needs a plan to get her attention, but before he can act, Teryka decides to go out of their realm, and move to Los Angeles to get a job as an actress.  Her mother, Merika, still has connections and an apartment there.   Teryka gets a job working for her mother’s old producer, and quickly becomes a star on the television show.

Riven decides he needs to follow Teryka, and surprises her by showing up.  He too will go on the television show, and they become a couple on the show and off.  Riven and Teryka know they have found each other, as they both recognize they are each other’s mate.

When Teryka wants to return home, the evil producer forces her to stay since she has to finish her contract; and he pushes all the staff to work double time.  Riven is called home to help the Valley. Teryka will realize shortly thereafter that she is pregnant, and soon she becoming ill from overwork and working too many hours.  Merika and Tryrus will come to Los Angeles to help Teryka, and do what they can to stop this evil producer whom Merika remembers from years before. It was great to see Merika take control.

M.A. Abraham gives us another wonderful romance, with some great characters, such as Teryka, Riven, Statler, as well as the oldies, Merika, Tyrus, Kodac.  Teryka Rose was a sweet and lighthearted story line, with wonderful characters created by Abraham.

The Phoenixes Choice by M.A. Abraham – Review & Giveaway

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / iTunes

Description:
Kyllan has come home to find several surprises waiting for him, one in the form of a man he had thought dead. Trysuil is most definitely not lost to their people, and he couldn’t be happier. His daughter, Alena, is ecstatic, for her love has been returned to her.

The Phoenixes saved Trysuil from what would have been a certain death, for he had more potential than anyone could have imagined. They kept him in a state of suspended animation, until the time was right, with the knowledge that their world was about to go through many changes in the future. In his new position of power, he will be known as the Adjudicator. He only answers to the Phoenixes; he is their judge and jury.

Those who have gotten to know Kyllan respect and admire him as a good leader of uncanny foresight and abilities. As they get to know Trysuil, they find out that he is fair, just and a man of vision. He will not abuse his position. He would rather help those who have come to live on Tantalus build a future for the generations that are to follow, but he can bring down the might of the Phoenixes to bear on them, if there is a need.

Review:

The Phoenixes Choice by M.A. Abraham is the 5th book in her Tantalus series.  A brief refresher of the premise of Tantalus: This is a Sci-Fi story about three species (Humans, Sirens & Tantalarians) that are forced to work together on the planet Tantalus. M. A. Abraham once again gives us an exciting and interesting storyline, as the three different species come together in a common bond as we return to the world of Tantalus.

When the Tribune Elder, Kyllan comes home, he discovers that his daughters mate,Trysuil,  has returned, having been saved by the Phoenxes.  Trysuil is now the go between the Tantalus leaders and the Phoenixes, and is also very powerful.   Trysuil is happy to be home, and is determined to work with Kyllan to build a better future for Tantalus, as they continue to grow bigger with more humans, and Sirens living among them.

We met the Sirens in the last book, and Kyllan brings them to Tantalus to see a world better for them then what have in Mars.   Trysuil, who must try to keep everyone safe, and following the terms set by the Phoenixes, who want peace, has to at times be rough to those humans who do not follow the laws set by them at their arrival.  Kyllan worries that since he sent black pearls to help humans pay for their ships, that the humans who will be arriving in a few years to Mars, would be the dangerous and greedy ones who want more.

What I really enjoyed was watching the King and Queen Sirens of Mars, and their families visit Tantalus, and meet more of their kind from many years before.  They also loved the land and sea of Tantalus, which with help from everyone, will set the stage for the sirens to eventually move their people away from Mars to Tantalus.  This is especially necessary, as the ships arriving from Mars could lead to war, danger and destruction.  It was great to see many of the characters that we have meet previously, and who we have become invested in.

What follows is a well written, informative and excellent story line.  If you have not read this series, to tell too much more, would be spoilers.  You need to begin at the start to learn about Tantalus and those who become a major part in bringing safety and togetherness to all the species that will  learn to work together to allow Tantalus to move forward to a safe and prosperous future for all.

M.A. Abraham has once again given us an exciting, enjoyable and interesting story of the three species working together.  Again, if you have not read this series, I do suggest you start with the first book to be able to understand this world.  The end of the story leaves things open to complete the growth of Tantalus and the ability to protect Tantalus from danger from afar.  I really cannot wait to see where M.A. Abraham takes us as we move closer to the conclusion of this series.

Chania has lived most of her life in seclusion. She was placed amongst the humans that had once come to the aid of her ancestors, many millenniums before. She kept secreted by the head priestess, and revered as a Goddess by the people. She knows she is not what they think she is. She is an Elven Princess in hiding, and content to stay that way.

Daeron is an Elven/Dragon shapeshifter, who has served as second in command of the Guardians of the Elven Empire for a long time. He comes from a long line of Kings, and has proven himself worthy of his position of life. He is a proud, noble, Golden Dragon, when he is not an Elf. He is not so pleased with the sudden match making ambitions of his leader though, especially when he has been singled out to be mated with one of the leader’s daughters. He is not about to give in without a fight. He will not be used in this manner, not by anyone.

Captured by her father’s guardians and forced to his side, Chania, learns her fate. She is no happier about their upcoming nuptials than Daeron. They recognize the Life Bond they share, but under the circumstances, refuse to allow it to dictate their future. Can they fight an attraction that no Elf has ever been able to deny?

Review:

The Goddess by M.A. Abraham is the 1st book in her new Guardians of the Empire.  I have read every book by M.A. Abraham, and I continued to be amazed how her stories continue to get better and better, not to mention her wonderful imagination.  I am happy to say that The Goddess is the start of another great series that takes place in the same world, but of course a different time and characters .

The Goddess is set thousands years past the finale of the Elven Chronicles.  When that series ended, all surviving humans were granted a land called The Valley, where they were able to live prosperous and in peace.   Over the years, these humans did not remember the Elves, who were hidden and unseen in their portal.

Chania, our heroine, is the goddess, but she is also an oracle and a white dragon.  Chania is still young, and learning; but she does have visions and sees a war on the horizon.  Chania lives in the Valley (human territory) that is led by Britallia (High Priestess), who also has visions.  She protects Chania, who loves to shift to her white dragon.  One day she goes too far, and is caught by Gold Dragons, who will bring her home to the land of her father, where she will see her mother and sister, Serena again.  Seems her mother took the girls years before, because her lifemate, King Gerolth was acting like a dictator.  Now all three have returned, and the King is happy to have them back.  But the Gold Dragons are determined to keep an eye on the wild escapades of the girls.

Chania knows that with the war coming soon, she needs to return to the human world to help them fight off the enemy.  She makes plans with Serena to be prepared to escape within the next month or so.  But Daeron,a leader of the Gold Dragons, and who is a loner and arrogant, knows she is his lifemate and is determined to take her at any cost.  Chania feels the attraction and bond to Daeron, but he has  been possessive and domineering,  not like a  lifemate should be treated as an equal.  Her father, and his brother try to reason with Daeron and his dragon, but he only gets angry at them all, until Chania and Serena finally escape, with Serena going to the Elves for help.

We meet the new General of the Elven Army, Gabriella, who is an Eagle Claw and a descendant of Gabriel. She is a powerful and fierce warrior, who will take charge of the mission to help the humans, working closely with Britallia, and her warrior brothers, as well as Chania.

What follows is an exciting and wonderful adventure, where we will follow three of the most powerful women, and their great warriors/dragons to fight an enemy that has thousands of warriors more than they do.  But it was wonderful to see all the weapons the Elves will bring in: dragons, birds, sword wielding warriors,  thatchers; all the things we remember so well from the Elven Chronicles.

I do not want to say too much more, as you need to read this book, and meet all the fascinating characters Abraham has created for us to savior.  I loved Gabriella, Britallia and Chania.  For a bit, I was not a fan of Daeron, but closer to the end, changed for the better.  The Goddess was an entertaining, fun, exciting, suspenseful, lifemate romance, and a wonderfuj cast of characters.  I for one I cannot wait to see what comes next.  The Goddess by M.A. Abraham was a super start to this new series, which you should read.
