Description:
Continuing from where the Elven Chronicles left off. We bring you the ONE EMPIRE SERIES.

The Drazon is dead, and the Demons have been eradicated from the Elven Empire. Now the Elves can begin anew, and this is exactly what they are about to do. Their lands are scarred by the war, their original Kingdoms fragmented and their people are in need of healing as much as the world around them. The boundary has been raised, to separate the Elven Empire from the rest of the world, and they settle down to work.

The new era starts with the Elven Kingdoms uniting as the One Empire, Life Mates are found, relationships cemented, and peace reigns. There is no better time to rebuild their world, and raise a family. First, the men who took advantage of Gabriel and Eden’s spell must convince their Life Mates that what they did was not such a bad thing. That could take a while, especially for any Male Elf who is bonded to a Light Elven Female

Review:

Rising from the Ashes by M.A. Abraham is a novella that introduces the start of her new One Empire series, which will begin with Hidden Kingdoms.

In Rising from the Ashes, the story picks up after the finale of the Elven Chronicles series.  Though they may have won the war with the Demons, the land in the Elven Empire was pretty much destroyed.  We get to see all of our favorites again as they do everything in their power to try to restore the land, which is currently like living in the dark ages.   In the midst of everyone working overtime in what looks like a hopeless situation, the people of the Elven Empire never give up and now with Eden and Gabriel’s fertility spell used again, most of the female elves are pregnant.

This is a difficult review to write, as this is all about everyone helping one another, which will bring forth help from the other Kings of different lands that were not affected by the Demon war.  I really did enjoy this book, and loved seeing the characters we all have come to love; Eden, Gabriel, Marious, Lothariel, Daroth, Tamarek and so many more.  It was really a quick fast read, and nice to see the camaraderie between them as the amazing Elves work together to help rebuilt the lands.  Very well done.   I look forward to see what Abraham will bring in her new One Empire series.

If you are a fan of the Elven Chronicles, you need to read this book, which the title says it all…Rising From the Ashes.  If you have not read the Elven Chronicles, I suggest you do so now.  Rising From the Ashes is a fun, heartwarming and emotional story that will lead the way to a new Empire. M.A. Abraham is a wonderful author, who has an amazing imagination and brings the characters and this world to life.

Forbidden Contact by M.A. Abraham – a Review

Forbidden Contact by M.A. Abraham – a Review

Forbidden ContactAmazon / B&N / Kobo

Description:
Karia can barely stand to be around herself, never mind others. She has been confined to the Aerie, until after the birth of her child, but there are limits to what she can do to pass the time.

Mitchell understands, although there is little he can do about it. He doesn’t have the time to deal with her moods and needs.

Erin, remembers what it was like for her, when she had carried Karia, but the requirements of her position with the new inhabitants of Tantalus, due to Karia’s pregnancy, is taking up every moment she has to spare.

Only one, Alena, seems to know what to do to soothe her granddaughter as she enters the final stages of her pregnancy. She enters the room, sits by Karia’s chair and begins to speak: “Let me tell you of a very young Tantalarian girl, a handsome young Tantalarian Guardian and the love they shared.”

Review:

Forbidden Contact by M.A. Abraham is a novella from her Tantalus series. This story revolves around Michel and Karia as they await the birth of their child. With the soon arrival of humans from mars, Michel is sent to oversee the preparations for more food, and habitual caves.

Karia’s great grandmother and grandmother watch over her through the start of her contractions. To get her mind off of the pain, Alenia (great grandmother) tells her how she met her great grandfather, and the laws in those days that prevented them on acting on their feelings. When she became pregnant with Erin (grand mother), they were punished and separated. The laws were archaic, but the tribunal elder refused to listen, thereby causing much friction that would take decades to open doors.

When Erin gave birth to Karia in a similar way, only the fact that Karia was designated to belong to a high ranking Phoenix opened the way for things to slowly change.

To tell too much more, would be spoilers leading into the next full length novel. When the happy couple give birth, those changes will begin with a big, but nice twist. Forbidden Contact was a nice lighthearted story about the past and the changes that need to be made to bring the Tantalarians into modern times, as well as to be ready for the oncoming flux of humans. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Review:

Merika’s Story by M.A. Abraham is the first book in her Daughters of the Valley series.  It is always exciting to find out what M.A. Abraham has in store for us whenever she starts a new series.   M. A. Abraham gives us another wonderful romance of two people determined to fight their destiny.  She has a wonderful imagination, and always gives us a different and fun new world-building.

We meet Merika, our heroine, immediately as she is driving into a major storm.  When her car gets stuck, Merika is forced to walk along a dark road to find a place for safety. With her aggravation and fears, she unknowingly is making the storm more severe and dangerous.  As Merika enters a hidden realm, she begins to sense something pulling her.  While Merika is coming toward them, we meet those who live in the Valley (hidden realm), as they sense a powerful force coming.  We meet Sephora and her daughter Serena, who worry about this new powerful person.  We will also meet Kodac, a male leader of this world, and his sons Tyrus and Rodan.  When Merika comes face to face with these people, her fears will escalate, causing her unknown power to rise.  It will take both Kodac and Tyrus to stabilize Merika.

What follows is a wonderful story about Merika learning about her true past and getting to know all the people in the Valley.  She will learn her recently deceased mother’s origin, and how to use her powers.  Merika will become best friends with Serena, who is also a powerful female alpha.

Kodac was a wonderful character, who only wanted what was best for his sons.  He did everything to befriend Merika, and help push her toward his son, Tyrus, whom he felt were perfect for each other.  Tyrus is the heir apparent to be the Alpha Prime of the Valley. But best laid plans do not always work out, as both of them were stubborn and independent, causing them to get off on the wrong foot.  But Merika was a wonderful heroine, whom everyone liked, including all the other men who were interested.  This of course frustrated Tyrus, who did not want to become involved in a relationship, but found himself being drawn to Merika, despite his determination not to.

Merika’s Story was a different type of world, with powerful people, who lived in peace.  It was a fun and lighthearted story line, with wonderful characters created by Abraham.

Intercession by M.A. Abraham – Review & Giveaway

Intercession by M.A. Abraham – Review & Giveaway

Intercession Banner

IntercessionAmazon / B&N / Kobo

Description:
In the history of the Tantalarian people, The Tribunal Elder is the only one who ever stood up to the Tribunal. He did that when he was a Tribune, and managed to live to eventually lead it. He had disagreed with a decision the counsel made and acted on it. In protest; he cut off his ceremonial braid and threw the discarded plait onto the floor at The Elder’s feet, and refused to ever wear a braid again. His action was considered an insult, to the Elder of that time, as well as the Tribunal. The spirit of the man, who was, still lives in the ruler who is now.

The Tribunal Elder has lived through more millennium than he cares to think about. He is not the type to shirk his duties. He is a force to recon with; yet he is known to be a kind man. To settle a dispute between the Martians and the Human settlers, he is being forced to take the mother ship that they had arrived on Tantalus with many eons before back into space. This, he is not happy about.

The message from the Martians is clear, remove the settlers from the surface of their planet, or they will die. The Tribunal Elder soon discovers there is more to this than those who are command know about, for the act that precipitated this action had multiple events. Someone is working in the background, manipulating forces, to create a power struggle between the two species.

Will he allow the Tantalarians to be pulled into a conflict that they have and want nothing to do with?

Review:

Intercession by M.A. Abraham is the 4th book in her Tantalus series.   M. A. Abraham once again gives us an exciting and tense story as we return to the world of Tantalus.  Intercession picks up shortly after the last book ended. A brief refresher of the premise of Tantalus: This is a Sci-Fi story about two species (Humans & Tantalarians) that are forced to work together on the planet Tantalus.

The Tribunal Elder has been requested to go to Mars and remove the human settlers who live there or all humans will be killed.  He gathers a team made up of Tantalarians and human leaders who have migrated nicely in Tantalus.   The purpose is to find out the what and why causing this issue.  The Elder wants only mated men, as the Sirens from Mars are known to use their ability to get what they want by using alluring spells; and the mated men are immune to those spells.  He also wants Terec & Adele (our previous book heroes) to come, especially since Adele has the ability to read people and able to see if they are lying.

When they arrive in Mars, they are greeted by the Siren leader, as well as one of the woman warriors, who threaten them.  They are told that a few of the women are missing, and blame the human residents.   The Elder senses there is more to the story, and with his team they meet with the resident human leaders of various ships to discover what is happening.  Adele will make friends with Glynnis, one of the Siren females, who helps heal those who have been affected by sickness from contaminated water.   Adele and Gynnis will play a big part in helping fix the water, and learn the truth about what is happening.

What follows is a well written and excellent story line that will have the Elder, and the Tantalarians discover the issues, as well as stopping a dangerous revolt.  I loved meeting Echoes, a Siren princess, who was able to stop the revolution, and dictate punishment to those involved.  I loved Adele and Terec. I also enjoyed the surprise twist was also very nice.

M.A. Abraham once again gives us an interesting, fun and different story line of the Tantalarians and Humans working together, as they try to diffuse the situation in Mars.  If you enjoy fantasy, aliens,  world building, then I suggest you start this series with the first book.

Beyond the Myth by M.A. Abraham – Review & Giveaway

Beyond the Myth Banner

Beyond the MythAmazon / B&N / Kobo

Description:
Darlene Stanton is an archeologist, born and raised in the field by her archeologist parents, along with her twin, Derek. They appear to have it all, fame and fortune, for they are top of their field. They are sought out for their expertise in the field and the prestige they bring to each job they do, which is why they have been hired to check out the myth and island where it originated. There is more to the myth than they expect.

Blond and beautiful, Darlene has hidden herself behind her work and an icy shield that is meant to keep people at bay. She discovers more than she can handle when they get caught up in the reality of the myth on the site she is working on with her brother.

Atl is one of the leader’s sons, and he wants nothing more than to marry his childhood sweetheart, until he meets Darlene. She is beautiful, spirited, and nearly more than he can handle in the beginning. She is also suffering from shock from all the changes she has been forced to face in the few days before they met.

Ripped from her home planet, forced into a relationship, and lifestyle that is totally alien to everything she knows, Darlene fights to regain some form of stability in her life, while Derek settles into their new lifestyles without a problem. It doesn’t help when the handsome man who owns her is so charismatic that she can barely keep her hands off of him. She knows he didn’t want her anymore than she does him, but there is nothing either of them can do to change things. How is she to face the reality of her life, beyond the myth?

Review:

Beyond the Myth by M.A. Abraham is a standalone Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel.  Darlene and Derek Stanton, brother and sister twins, are world renown archeologists.  They are famous, rich and always in demand; but they are selective and expensive in accepting jobs.  Despite her dire feelings, Darlene agrees with Derek to accept their next adventure on a newly discovered island that holds a mysterious myth.  When they begin exploring, they sense that this is not things they normally handle from the past, but something more advanced into the future. Derek will accidently touch one of the artifacts, which will bring them into a new world and change their lives forever.

Darlene and Derek are not only smart and independent, but they are both beautiful.  She being more distant and cold, and he being a fun loving playboy.  But in this new planet, things are totally different, and due to their attractive looks, they will be sold to another local area.  On a ship, they find that they have been promised as mates to the leader’s son and daughter.  Derek will adapt well, but Darlene will have a very hard time in an alien world, that takes away her freedom.  She finds Atl, her prospective mate, very attractive and he too is forced into this relationship.  But Atl turns out to be a great hero, and someone who loves the spirited, and feisty attitude of Darlene.  Just when she slowly begins to care about Atl, and finds herself learning more about helping with the land and the ship, the wool is pulled out from under her once again.   With Darlene’s help, the leader is able to return to their homeland after 1500 years, but the new King now has his eyes on Darlene, and will do anything to break up her and Atl.

Rather than tell too much more, what follows is an interesting story line, as well as a very nice romance. I really liked Atl, his father (leader), and sister.  Derek was also very good, especially being in a different world.  Darlene was the main character, and I liked her too. However, I did think at times I wanted to smack her, as her stubbornness was annoying.  Granted, her life was totally torn apart, but at times I found her continued refusal to adapt to Atl and his life irritating; but in the end, Darlene’s strength, smarts and independence will help them.  Overall, it was a great story line, and I am amazed by M.A. Abraham’s wonderful imagination in bringing us different & new stories.

Hunter’s Challenge by M.A. Abraham – Review & Giveaway

Hunter’s Challenge by M.A. Abraham – Review & Giveaway

Hunter's Challenge Banner

Hunter's ChallengeAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM

Descripton:
The Sociopath, who has been wrongly labeled ‘the witch hunter’, is focusing on those who have psychic powers. He has challenged the wrong people, though he doesn’t seem to realize it. He has issued an edict to the Tantalarians, demanding that they bow to his will. That will never happen.

One Tantalarian, in particular, feels he has an axe to grind with this ‘witch hunter’. The man has mentally attacked him, singled out the woman he has chosen for his future mate for extermination or worse. He will not rest until his foe is dead, the game lines have been drawn, the war is on. He might be new to this form of fighting, for he is young, but he knows how to protect his own. He has nothing to lose but his life, for until the one he loves is safe from the madman, he will cling to nothing.

Adele, a young Earthling, has connected with one of the Phoenixes and bears it’s protection. The bonding between them is bringing changes, both mentally and physically that no one expected. She has also fallen in love with the young Tantalarian Hunter, Terec.

Adele, agrees with Terec’s decision to go after the ‘witch hunter’, but has other ideas when it comes to his other plans. She knows how dangerous his plans are, but not his real reasons. As she prepares to fight at the side of the man she loves, she can only wonder, who will win, and who will lose?

Review:

Hunter’s Challenge by M.A. Abraham is the 3rd book in her Tantalus series.  A brief refresher of the premise of Tantalus: This is a Sci-Fi story about two species (Humans & Tantalarians) that are forced to work together on the planet Tantalus. In the first book, Noah’s Arc brought thousands of humans to land safely on Tantalus, as they learned all about their new planet & their hosts, who look human, but they do have wings. In the second book, the villain (witch hunter) was introduced and in Hunter’s Challenge, he is the focus of this story.

We get to meet all the characters we have met before, but Terec is our hero.  The rulers of Tantalus recognize that Terec is not only a good hunter, but very smart and savvy.  When the Witch Hunter has his eye on Adele, our heroine, and the human girl that Terec is falling for, he will do everything in his power to find a way to destroy this evil and powerful madman.  The Witch Hunter wants to absorb the powers of those with psychic powers, as well as take over the body of the young hunter.  Will Terec be able to stop the Witch Hunter?  Can he survive?

Adele was a very good heroine, especially in the face of her body changing into a strong woman similar to the Tantalus females who have been chosen Tantalus by the Phoenixes, who protect them and Tantalus. Adele must deal with her changes, as she is now growing wings, and deal with her burning lust for Terec  (Phoenixes push those boundaries into their chosen female).

It will be Terec who will convince Michel and the tribunes to work with his idea to catch the Witch Hunter.  I do not want to give spoilers.  The final half of the book was very exciting, with lots of action and suspense. The romance between Terec and Adele was very well done.

M.A. Abraham has once again given us an exciting and tense story of the two species working together, to fight the evil villain and free those from the last ship from the villains mind control.  I really enjoyed this story, and though the first two books were good; Hunter’s Challenge is the best one yet. Again, if you read this series, I do suggest you start with the first book to be able to understand this world.  The end of the story, leaves a surprise twist that will have us waiting impatiently for the next book.

He realizes things are done differently in the Dark Elven Kingdom, knows that they have a different code of ethics from what he was raised with, but he is determined to do things his way.

It is a clash of cultures, Ancient High Elf vs. modern Dark Elf and the games are on

Review:

To Capture an Ancient by M.A. Abraham is a novella that is part of her wonderful Elven Chronicles series.  Earane and Felcor are our heroes in this book, but the story revolves around the upcoming war that threatens the lives of the Elven Kingdom, as we know it.

To Capture an Ancient begins at the time where things were left off in the last book, with Gabriel and all the Elves trying to make plans to put their people in safe places, and be prepared for this war, where the reports are saying they will be seriously outnumbered by the demons. Disaster and destruction is on the horizon.

Earane, who is King Leissen and Aredhel daughter, is our heroine.  She is a dark elf, and a leader of the Elite Guards .  Earane is a very confidant and strong young lady, who doesn’t fear fighting and killing demons.  When she comes upon another Elf fighting off a demon attack, Earane will come to help.  When the battle has been won, she will face the man who is her lifemate.   Felcor, an ancient elf, also recognizes that he has finally found his lifemate in Earane.  In between fighting off some demons, the two will make their bond and  lifemate claiming.  They are once again attacked by Demons, and just when the situation becomes dire, Gabrielle and Eol will come to their rescue.

Gabriel is not a happy camper, and dresses down both Earane and Felcor for being careless, and not quickly getting the information they found to him and the others.  Everyone realizes that Gabriel is under terrible stress, and not sleeping. It will take Eden to force him to take a break and rest.

We watch as all the Elves try to find a way to protect their loves ones, and prepare to lose some of their lands to ward off the major demon attack.  To Capture an Ancient is a short story that will lead us to the next full novel, Kings of the Empire, and the demon war.  I cannot wait for this book, and will worry until then what will happen to our Elves.

Neither Larien nor Rothliel are prepared for what they find. The Demon Mountains hide many secrets from the world. They are not what everyone thinks they are. What has the Drazon been hiding? They are about to find out, as they travel deep into the Demons Lair.

Review:

Into the Demons Lair by M.A. Abraham is the 11th book in her wonderful Elven Chronicles series.  Into the Demon’s Lair escalates the Demon war to one that threatens the lives of all the elves and their kingdoms.  Larien,  who is Serenity’s eldest daughter, decides to take matters in her own hands by taking  her dragonets and entering the Demon Mountain.  King Lothrariel sees a vision about Larien, and sends Rothliel to find her and bring her out of the mountain, which is too dangerous.  Lothrariel also knows that Larien is Rothliel’s lifemate.  Into this mix is Alyssa, who is Larien’s younger sister, who knows what Larien is up to and follows quietly behind to help her if needed.

Into the Demons Lair is somewhat different than the earlier books.  The war is the main focus bringing in all the characters from earlier books, especially the young children who are now fully grown up, with many now generals in the Elven army, and all the Kings from the other Kingdoms.  Larien, Alyssa and Rothliel have sent messages to warn the others that the mountains are falling apart, and Demons are now coming out in full force to attack all the kingdoms.  The three of them inside the mountains are flabbergasted at how many demons that have been hidden; the number is astronomical, and the Elves know that this could be a war they cannot win.  During one of the explosions inside the cave, all three of them fall deeply into an opening. What they find upon awakening, is that they are being healed by different elves. Who and where are they from?   I will not tell too much more, as they will be spoilers.

This was an exciting story, with some twists. Larien, Alyssa and Rothleil were the center of much of the story, and helped create some humor.  However, most of the story was filled with action and preparation to fight a dangerous enemy.  I did have a couple of issues.  There are so many characters in the Elven Chronicles over the 11 books, and when bringing together everyone throughout the kingdoms to plan, and to fight was somewhat confusing trying to remember who was who.  Lastly, the finish was very exciting, as we knew that perhaps we can survive an onslaught, and then it ends. Glares at M.A. Abraham for leaving us totally hanging?  I know that this series usually ends to be continued, but so much was left that I wanted some closure before ending.  .  Sigh  Now I have to wait a long time for Kings of the Empire.
