REVIEW:UNINTENDED TARGET is the second instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult MACARTHUR FAMILY romantic suspense novella series. This is security specialist Brodie MacArthur, and kindergarten teacher Patience Carras’ story line. UNINTENDED TARGET can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Patience and Brodie) UNINTENDED TARGET follows the quick building romance and relationship between security specialist Brodie MacArthur and kindergarten teacher Patience Carras. Patience Carras was looking forward to the summer off but a call from her mother found Patience working as a nanny for Trevor, a family friend whose previous five nannies had all quit unexpectedly. Meeting the on-site security specialist Brodie MacArthur stirred something deep within our story line heroine but Brodie crossed a line as it pertained to an event in our heroine’s past, an event that has left its’ mark on her heart and her soul. Security is tight around Patience’s new employer leaving our heroine the latest target. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Brodie and Patience, and the potential fall-out as the threats to Trevor have been transferred as threats to our story line heroine.

UNINTENDED TARGET is a fast paced and intriguing story line. The premise is edgy; the romance is captivating; the characters are animated and spirited. As per many novella length stories, the conflict resolution is quick-I was hoping for a little more build up of suspense and mystery.
