Cassia Dimitrou is next in line to head the Greek Mafia. Her entire life has been planned out for her to take her rightful place. While working alongside her father, Ilias Dimitrou, she is learning all she needs to know to take over one day soon. But fate has other plans for her. Cassia doesn’t have the same plans for the Greek Mafia as her father. Her father brokers and alliance with other Mafia heads a year ago, all but cementing her rightful place. She has put on a strong front and has shown the others that she is a force to be reckoned with. But deep down inside she is scared beyond belief. She can’t show them any fear. And she manages to put on a brave face despite everything going on around her. And as her father becomes increasingly chaotic and sporadic in his choices, Cassia does everything in her power to persuade him not to start a war with the Russian Bratva. But that war comes to her. And with losing everything that means anything to her, she must do everything in her power to protect herself and take her rightful place.

Thats when she meets Lincoln Knight. He hangs around with Santiago Castro, and he is there for one reason and one reason only. To kill the evilest of people. And that is exactly what he has done for two years. That is until he lays eyes on Cassia. When Cassia puts a call out for help to her alliance members, they send Knight. Knight does everything in his power to save Cassia and her sister.

Will they survive what has just happened to them? Will Cassia be able to take her rightful place as head of the Greek Mafia?

This book was wonderfully written. Cassia is a strong, determined young woman. Who has one thing on her mind. Taking over the Greek Mafia. While she is determined to take her place, she is also scared and trying everything in her power not to show weakness to any of her enemies. I love the bond she builds slowly with Knight and how he must protect her at all costs from the moment he meets her. Knight comes with his own baggage and the moment he meets Cassia he begins to see he has something to live for again.

The story of Knights past takes him to a dark place, and you are on a journey with him and he finds himself again in the love and caring support of Cassia. This book comes with a trigger warning, please make sure you check that out before reading. Wonderful second book to the series. Can’t wait to read Santiago’s book next.

The secondary and supporting characters are colorful and determined. We are introduced to Dasha’s brother Evan Zeitsev, and their father Serge; as well as the return of Tigran’s brother Arsen and his wife Lena, their aunt Sona; Tigran’s chef/security Vito; driver Damian. The requisite evil has many faces.

BEAUTIFUL SCAR is a story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, secrets and lies, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, edgy and dark; the romance is passionate and heated; the characters are desperate, charismatic and strong.

This is twenty-nine year old, Roriguez Cartel lieutenant Emiliano ‘Em’ Ruiz, and eighteen year old, Luciano Mafia princess Isabella Luciano’s story line. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Em and Isabella) TO HAVE AND TO HOLD follows in the wake of Isabella Luciano’s arrival in San Diego, California where she is tasked with helping her cousin Dario’s sister Mia, in the wake of the birth of her child but Isabella believes she is being tested, in the hopes of crawling home with her proverbial tail tucked between her legs . As a princess in the Luciano Mafia, Isabella has been ordered to keep her distance from the Mexican Cartel but two of Isabella’s cousins have married into the Roriguez Cartel, and our heroine is about to lose her heart to their newest Lieutenant. Emiliano ‘Em’ Ruiz is a high ranking member of the Roriguez Cartel, and our hero has fallen for a woman who has been raised to fear, wholly unaware of the workings of the Mafia and Cartel. As Em begins a slow seduction of our story line heroine, the Cartel is pulled into war the Russian Bratva.

The world building follows several paths including the dysfunctional dynamics of the Luciano family. Isabella is nothing more than a naïve pawn for her father’s rise to power but our heroine refuses to stand down when her father demands her return and more. As the Cartel battles for control, Isabella quickly learns about the dangers threatening the man that she loves.

The relationship between Isabella and Em is an age-gap, forbidden love, Romeo and Juliet-esque story of insta-love. Emiliano knows immediately that Isabella is the woman he is hoping to claim as his own but Isabella struggles with the pre-conceived notion that all Cartel members are dangerous killers. Naive and young, raised in a proverbial gilded cage, Isabella quickly settles into life with the Roriguez Cartel, falling for a man who will lay claim to her heart. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble of colorful, powerful and energetic secondary and supporting characters, most of whom we met in the previous story lines including Isabella’s new friend Liliana. We are introduced to Isabella’s father Carmine Luciano, and her siblings Noemi and Tony, and her guards Horace and Silas.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD is a story of power and control, family and restriction, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is engaging and compelling; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined and charismatic.The Brutal Vows series is not as dark or dramatic as some of the other Mafia romance story lines-the quick conflict resolution is subdued but there is plenty of sl&t shaming, which is addressed and condemned..

REVIEW: BEAUTIFUL MISTAKES is the first full-length instalment in Cora Kent’s contemporary, adult TWISTED SISTERS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Destroyers MC enforcer Raiden Drake, and Lucrezia Castiglione’s story line. There is a prequel novella TWISTED TRUTHS that reveals some of the individual background and earlier years of Raiden and Lucrezia.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lucrezia and Raiden) BEAUTIFUL MISTAKES follows in the wake of the return of Lucrezia Castiglione. In her teens, Lucrezia suffered at the hands of her now-deceased father, and his men, then upon his death, was banished by her brother where she would spend five years under the tyranny and abuse of the Italian nuns. Fast forward to present day, Lucrezia is determined to destroy her brother Saverio Castiglione, and is hoping to enlist the help of Raiden Drake and the Destroyers, as well as the only siblings with whom she is on speaking terms but all is not as it appears to be, and Lucrezia will once again suffer at the hands of those she longed to trust.

The world building focuses on the building relationship between Lucrezia and Raiden, a relationship predicated upon mutual hatred for our heroine’s brother. Plans are to be made and implemented in the hopes of taking down a man who has destroyed too many lives.

The relationship between Lucrezia and Raiden is a reciprocal arrangement, one in which each will ‘benefit’ from their physical affair but Raiden doesn’t do relationships, having loved and lost, and in this Lucrezia know their time together will come to a close. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are questionable and charismatic. We are introduced to Lucrezia’s siblings Saverio, Daniela, and half-brother Kristopher, as well as members of the Destroyers MC: club Presidents Priest Whittaker, Bash, Trigger and Vic.

BEAUTIFUL MISTAKES is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, corruption and abuse, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, dark and edgy; the romance is spicy and provocative; the characters rebellious, hostile and determined.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives ( Maeve and Rory) HIS POSSESSION follows the fated relationship between panther shifter/Irish mobster, business owner Rory McMahon, and cougar shifter / sculptor Maeve O’Connell. Maeve’s most recent gallery offering finds a visit from Irish mobster Rory McMahon.Maeve’s family is a part of the crime world, and our heroine is determined to stay as far away as possible but Rory is Maeve’s fated mate, and our hero will become guardian and protector of the woman with whom he is falling in love. The O’Neill Crime Syndicate has been targeted, and Maeve is about to become a pawn in a war of winner takes all but betrayal from within sets the tone for the upcoming battle. REVIEW: HIS TEMPTATION is the third instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult MAFIA MASTERS dark, erotic, paranormal, Mafia romance series. This is panther shifters Daragh O’Neill of the O’Neill Crime Syndicate, and museum curator Siobhan Harrington’s story line. HIS TEMPTATION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Siobhan and Daragh) HIS TEMPTATION focuses on the rescue and capture of panther shifter and museum curator Siobhan Harrington. Siobhan Harrington is a shifter with special abilities, and is on the run from MI5, MI6, and well as wolf shifter and crime lord Sebastian Wolfe but our heroine’s first foray back into the world of art places a target on her back, and she is determined to stay one step ahead of everyone willing to take her down. Enter Daragh O’Neill, Siobhan’s fated mate, and the man who is determined to protect our heroine with his life but Siobhan isn’t going to make is easy; refusing to be claimed or owned by any man, and in this, Siobhan is determined to run at every opportunity. Keeping Siobhan safe and out of the hands of the people targeting our story line heroine becomes troubling when the woman herself is often TSTL, and walks out of the safety net secured by the man whom she loves.

The world building focuses on the search, protection and claiming of our story line heroine. Daragh O’Neill knows Siobhan is his mate but Siobhan refuses to accept her fate with our story line hero. Determined to run, believing she will be safer on her own, Siobhan is often at the centre of a gun battle or take down of the people aiming to do her harm.

The relationship between Daragh and Siobhan is one of fated mates but Siobhan refuses to accept Daragh’s claim. A claiming, a mating, and a determined Daragh O’Neill all but lock down our story line heroine, a woman who refuses to bend the ‘proverbial knee’ for any man including the man with whom she is falling in love The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

We are reintroduced to panther shifter / Irish Mobster Callum Kavanagh, and his mate, socialite Isolde Fitzwilliam, several MI5 and MI6 agents, as well as Sebastian Wolfe.

HIS TEMPTATION is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is fated and frenzied; the characters are strong-willed, stubborn and charismatic.

This is Gideon ‘The Ferryman’ Black, and Sofia Sinacore’s story line. BRUTAL KING should not be read as a stand alone as it is the culmination of the previous six instalments. The events of BRUTAL KING cross over with, and run parallel to the events of several of the previous instalments, revealing some of the back story behind The Ferryman’s journey of revenge.

SOME BACKGROUND: All is not well in the criminal underworld- several of the men in charge of the most powerful families in America have been murdered, and there is a connection for all to a murder from the past. Told from several first person perspectives (Gideon, Sofia, Luca, Scarlet, Carina) BRUTAL KING focuses on the relationship between Sofia Sinacore and Gideon Black aka The Ferryman. Sofia Sinacore dislikes following the rules, and in an effort to protect his younger sister, Luca Sinacore takes charge, and transfers Sofia to a university across the country but Sofia, TSTL, thinking she is not a target, runs from the man in charge but all does not go according to plan when Sofia becomes a prisoner of The Ferryman, a prisoner to be used as a pawn for control and power. Gideon Black never expected to find himself in ‘possession’ of the youngest Sinacore and makes Sofia an offer she cannot refuse-frreedom, but at a cost. As The Ferryman continues his pledge to take down the men who killed his father, the past comes full circle as Gideon must face the man who started it all. The world building crosses several story lines, as the reader is up close and personal with The Ferryman’s need to avenge the death of his father but all is not as it appears to be as Gideon begins to fall for the woman who has stolen his heart. As Gideon’s second in command falls for one of her targets, Gideon must come to terms with the reality of what is happening and why.

The relationship between Gideon and Sofia begins as jailer and prisoner but Sofia is a prisoner in a gilded cage, a cage that holds more secrets than she could have ever imagined. When Gideon offered Sofia her freedom, our heroine battles between head and heart knowing her future belongs to the man with whom she has fallen in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and determined secondary and supporting characters many of whom we have me in the previous instalments including Luca and Carina, Gavin and Andie, Scarlet and Rowan, Arran and Skye, and Noah Esposito. We are introduced to Gideon’s majordomo Henry. The requisite evil has many faces.

BRUTAL KING is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, madness and murder, power and control, dysfunctional family dynamics, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is twisted, dramatic, dark and gritty; the romance is fated and edgy; the characters are desperate, dynamic and controversial.
