REVIEW:HOW MUCH I NEED is the fifth and final instalment in Marie Force’s contemporary, adult MIAMI NIGHTS erotic, romance series focusing on the Giordino family. This is twenty-six year old, computer coder Milo Giordino, and registered nurse Gianna Lombardi’s story line. HOW MUCH I NEED can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion I recommend reading the series in order as the events of the current time line are as of a direct result of book four HOW MUCH I WANT (Nico and Sofia).

NOTE: If you have not read book four HOW MUCH I WANT, there may be spoilers in my review.

SOME BACKGROUND: In book four, Sofia Diaz’s abusive ex husband refused to accept that Sofia had walked away, and in doing so placed a target on Nico’s life. To protect his brother, Milo Giordino took the bullet meant for his brother, a bullet that could have ended his life.

Told from several first person perspectives including Milo and Gianna HOW MUCH I NEED follows in the wake of the shooting of our story line hero. Struggling in his recovery, Milo would befriend Gianna Lombardi RN, a friendship that would eventually become something more but Gianna would battle between head and heart in the wake of a lifetime of broken promises and loss. As Milo worked on his recovery and rehab, Gianna would be brought into the family as one of their own. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Milo and Gianna, and the potential fall-out as Gianna continues to struggle with the past fearing betrayal from the man with whom she is falling in love.

The relationship between Milo and Gianna begins in the hospital. Milo is immediately attraction to our story line heroine but no attempts are made at a relationship until Milo has been discharged on his way to rehab. Gianna has been hurt in the past, not only by family but by an ex who left her standing at the altar, and in the wake, Gianna struggles with what was and what will never be. Milo knows Gianna is the one that calls to his heart but convincing Gianna mean convincing a woman who is about to run. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

All of the previous story line couple return as secondary and supporting characters including Milo’s parents, Elena and Lorenzo Giordino. We are up close and personal with each couple, weddings and children, and the birth of the next generation. A welcome conclusion to a wonderful series.

HOW MUCH I NEED is a story of recovery and loss, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating, engaging and inviting; the romance is spirited and intimate; the characters are sassy and spirited.

HOW MUCH I WANT is a story of family and relationships, betrayal and vengeance, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is captivating and heart warming; the romance is seductive; the characters are impassioned and charismatic.

REVIEW: ONE YEAR HOME by Marie Force is the follow-up story line to the author’s FIVE YEARS GONE wherein a soldier returns from war, five years after disappearing without contact. This is Captain John West, and publicist Julianne Tilden’s story line. Although ONE YEAR HOME can be read as a stand alone I recommend reading FIVE YEARS GONE for backstory and cohesion.

Told from four first person perspectives (John, Julianne, Ava and Eric) ONE YEAR HOME follows four people interconnected by our story line hero. Six years earlier Captain John West disappeared, in the wake of the attack on a US Cruise ship, leaving a broken hearted Ava Lucas struggling to make sense of what happened and why. Fast forward five years wherein John West returns home, a shell of his former self, only to discover that the woman he loved had fallen in love with someone else. Now one year later Captain John West is tasked by the US Navy to become the face of recruitment playing upon the public’s sympathies for the hero who helped take down a terrorist organization. But all is not well in John West’s life as he struggles to move forward without constantly looking back. With the recommendation of his former lover Ava, John will hire publicist Julianne Tilden, the sister of the man with whom Ava fell in love. The BUTLER, VERMONT series is a spin-off from the author’s GREEN MOUNTAIN SERIES but you do not need to have read the original series to understand or follow.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dani and Lucas) TILL THERE WAS YOU follows single mother Dani Rowson as she ventures out on her own, only to drive into a blinding snowstorm where she will be rescued by our story line hero. The premise is engaging, real and entertaining: the characters are fun, energetic and familiar; the romance is seductive. TILL THERE WAS YOU is a heart warming, sweet and wonderful story with fantastic characters including a lonely moose called Fred.
