ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 7, 2017

I was given one simple job. Break in and kidnap a rival MC club’s daughter.

I wasn’t expecting her to be a barely legal virgin begging me to take her.

I have to have her—wife her up and let the world know she belongs to me. I don’t even care if not following orders could cost me my life.

She’s. Mine.

No one will take her away from me.

A hot, sexy standalone with a dirty-talking biker and his sweet virgin.

••••••••••

REVIEW: THE BIKER’S VIRGIN by Michelle A. Valentine is a contemporary, adult, erotic, romance stand alone novella focusing on twenty nine year old Mavericks MC member Kevin ‘Cade’ and eighteen year old Piper-the president’s daughter of the rival MC-Satan’s Disciples.

NOTE: THE BIKER’S VIRGIN contains graphic language that may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from dual first person points of view (Piper and Cade) THE BIKER’S VIRGIN follows the quick building relationship between Maverick’s MC member Kevin Cade, and Piper-a young woman about to embark on her first year of college but a woman connected to their rival MC. Cade’s club president assigns our hero the task of kidnapping Piper in the hopes of going to war with the Satan’s Disciples MC but Cade has other plans for the woman that calls to his heart. A one –night stand quickly turns into something more when Cade must deal with the potential fall out of not obeying his MC prez. What ensues is the fast building lust to love relationship between Cade and Piper, and the struggle to keep faith in the face of mounting threats from both sides.

The relationship between Piper and Cade begins as a sex-only arrangement in light of the threats against our story line heroine but Piper is hoping for something more than Cade is willing to give. Cade struggles between head and heart knowing nothing good awaits if he doesn’t return with the woman he has quickly grown to love. His on going lies to the Maverick MC will cost him dearly including the potential loss of the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are graphic, erotic and intense.

There is a small ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Piper’s best friend Chloe; Maverick’s MC president Frank, his right hand man Del, club member Lemy, club-whore Vanessa, and Ken-the Vegas bridal rental man.

THE BIKER’S VIRGIN is a very quick read; an erotic, MC story line with a sexy, alpha biker, and a young woman whose own life has been infinitely changed by the biker life-style. Due to the nature of the short story, there is limited character development-I was hoping for a little more background into our story line hero. The premise is startling; the characters are spirited; the romance is energetic and erotic. THE BIKER’S VIRGIN is Michelle A Valentine’s first foray into the world of the MC but hopefully not her last.

When the line between mentor and student blurs, both begin to question what’s more important: Love, sex or the music.

**STANDALONE. No Cliffhanger**

•••••••••

REVIEW: LOVE, SEX, MUSIC by Michelle A Valentine is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic romance story line focusing on former rock star, and music producer Lazarus ‘Laz’ Rawlings, and singer Aundrea ‘Drea’ Newton.

Told from dual first person points of view (Laz and Drea) LOVE, SEX, MUSIC focuses on the building but forbidden relationship between music producer Laz Rawlings, and singer Drea Newton. It has been five years since Laz Rawlings fell out of favor with his record company, his band and the rest of the world when addiction and the loss of someone close sent Laz Rawlings spiraling out of control. Fast forward to present day wherein Laz is desperate for a come back including the making of an all-girl band that will see our story line hero top the charts-once again. Enter eatery employee and singer Aundrea ‘Drea’ Newton, and her step-sister Candace-two sisters hoping to hit it big in the music industry. What ensues is the building romance between Drea and Laz, and the fall out when the competition for lead singer turns ugly, and Drea’s past comes looking for revenge.

The relationship between Drea and Laz is a forbidden romance in such that Laz’s come back is threatened if he becomes entangled with a member of the group. Throughout the story line, Drea and Laz keep their relationship a secret although everyone has their suspicions because Laz is unable to keep his eyes off of the woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, seduction and hot.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Laz’s best friend and former member of the rock band the Romeos Cam Owens; friend and part of the group’s artistic development team Laurie; Laz’s father Mr. Rawlings, and his personal assistant Robert, as well as the new CEO of Rawlings Records Peter Lawson. We are introduced to the members of the Vixens including Drea’s sister Candace Montag, Annamea and Laycee. There is definitely an attraction between Candace and Cam-I am hoping the author continues their story in the future. The requisite evil has many faces including Drea’s ex-boyfriend Carlos who wants revenge against our story line heroine.

The world building focuses on the try-outs for the group: the auditions, the training, the potential fall out of Drea’s romantic relationship with a man who is technically her boss. Laz’s history with Peter, and the breakdown of the rock band The Romeos is revealed, as well as Drea’s heartbreaking back story.

LOVE, SEX, MUSIC is an emotional story line; an easy read that looks at the making of a band (singing group), and the fall out of jealousy, revenge and too much, too soon. The premise is entertaining and spicy; the romance is provocative and passionate; the characters are spirited and dynamic.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 20, 2016

The conclusion to the New York Times bestselling romance that began in Phenomenal X, about one woman’s pulse-pounding relationship with a notorious bad-boy wrestler.

“What’ll it be, Anna Cortez? Are you in, or are you out?”
One momentary loss of control has now ruined everything Xavier Cold had going for himself. With his world unraveling fast, he’s willing to do anything to save not only his job but his relationship with the only woman he’s ever loved.

Anna Cortez, still reeling from shock, tries desperately to save the man that’s consumed her heart, body and soul. She’ll have to dig deep and find courage she never knew she possessed to help Xavier fight demons from his past—a past that’s even more haunted than she ever imagined.

••••••••

REVIEW: XAVIER COLD is the second installment in Michelle A. Valentine’s contemporary, adult HARD KNOCKS erotic romance duology focusing on professional wrestler Xavier Cold, and the woman he loves Anna Cortez. XAVIER COLD should not be read as a stand alone because the story line picks up immediately upon the events and cliff hanger of book onePHENOMENAL X.

Told from dual first person points of view (Anna and Xavier) the focus continues on the relationship between Anna and X, but also on the repercussions of his beat down of an opponent who pushed one too many of Xavier’s buttons. To appease his boss in the Tension Wrestling Association, Xavier agrees to a three month suspension wherein Anna finds herself playing a larger role in the professional wrestling arena that pushes Xavier close to the edge. What ensues is Xavier and Anna’s return to Detroit where Xavier’s past demons continue to rear their ugly and dangerous heads.

XAVIER COLD was a bit of a frustrating read as our leading couple continued to place themselves in danger; in harm’s way; and in the direct line of fire. The stupidity of their choices is a bone of contention for this reader as it related to the reality of their situation. There was something about Xavier’s childhood home that pushed all of our couple’s buttons, and in the end, they still opted to remain in a house that held too many bad memories and heartbreaking secrets. Any opportunity for safe housing was refused one too many times and our couple paid a price for their stubborn pride. Xavier’s earlier years will break your heart.

The relationship between Xavier and Anna continues to take a battering from both inside and out. Xavier’s suspension meant too much time away from the woman he loves, and with it comes the realization that Anna may be better of without X by her side. There is plenty of push and pull; heartbreak and sorrow; regret and second chances. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.

All of the previous secondary and supporting characters return in Xavier Cold including X’s number one enemy both in and out of the ring Rex the ‘Assassin’. Rex’s role in Xavier’s suspension becomes much more than a professional altercation but a threat to his relationship with Anna as well. Old ‘demons’ from Xavier’s earlier days are front and center with X and Anna’s return to Detroit when threats against Anna are taken seriously by our leading man.

XAVIER COLD is a story about a man who struggles from within. A champion in the ring but a frightened boy when the reality of life threatens to take away the only things he has ever loved. The premise is intriguing and suspenseful; the characters are definitely colorful and charismatic; the romance is a fight to the finish. There are moments of heartbreak and betrayal; vengeance and pain; loving and letting go. My one issue was the neatly wrapped conclusion to the story line conflict and Xavier’s childhood demons-too clean, too neat, too cut and dry in the final few pages of the story.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 15, 2015

College sweethearts London Uphill and Jared Kraft were inseparable. He was a rising baseball star with a promising future, and she seemed destined to become “Mrs. Kraft.” Then a tragic night and a series of devastating mistakes caused Jared to walk away from his life, leaving London without any explanation and tearing the couple apart.

Five years later, Jared has reinvented himself by putting down the bat and picking up a guitar to play for the red-hot band Wicked White. In all that time, London hasn’t gotten over her forever love—or the pain—despite seeking solace in the arms of the one man no one dreamed she’d run to.

When Wicked White’s lead singer goes MIA, Jared finds the time—and courage—to return to his hometown and face the mess he made. He’s shocked at how London’s life has changed, yet he’s determined to prove their love is worth fighting for. Is this breakup too big for any hope of a reunion tour? Or can London open her heart to Jared once again?

••••••••

REVIEW: WICKED REUNION is the second installment in Michelle A.Valentine’s contemporary, new adult WICKED WHITE romance series. This is lead guitarist for the rock band Wicked White Jared Kraft, and primary school teacher London Uphill’s storyline-a second chance, of sorts, for two people whose lives imploded five years earlier. WICKED REUNION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. There is a slight connection with Valentine’s Black Falcon series.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Jared and London) as well as alternating past and present timelines wherein the present day events of WICKED REUNION run parallel and cross over with the events of book one WICKED WHITE, WICKED REUNION follows the before and after of a traumatic and tragic night in the life of Jared, and his brother Wes Kraft, and Jared’s fiancée London Uphill. Michelle A. Valentine pulls the reader into a heartbreaking and painful series of calamitous events (after the fact) all perpetrated and instigated by Jared Kraft and his need to lash out at the pain of losing someone close. What ensues is Jared’s need to get out of town, leaving his family and his fiancée behind without a goodbye or KMA. Five years will pass before Jared returns home to face his family and friends.

WICKED REUNION is a roller coaster of events, flashbacks, memories and alternating timelines that follows Jared’s fall from grace, losing everyone that he loves, and in doing so walks directly into his rock and roll future in a matter of hours and days. While Jared’s star begins to rise on the rock and roll concert stage, London pines away back home hoping for the return of the only man she has ever loved. Five years will pass and our heroine is still worshiping at the altar of Jared Kraft even though he has yet to contact or acknowledge her existence the entire time.

The personality and lack of emotional depth in our heroine, borders on obsession and psychotic. She is unable to let go of the past, so much so, that it affects every aspect of her life. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for London Uphill-she is a woman lost in a world of loss and grief. London’s love for Jared has never faltered in the five years since he walked away, and in all of that time, London has toyed with the heart of another man knowing he will never be the one she loves.

Jared is a selfish and egotistical pr*ck: a rock star who wants center stage regardless of who and what the label says. His behavior towards London is reprehensible; his jealousy and obnoxious conduct is filled with temper tantrums, lashing out, and immature behavior. I felt there were no redeeming qualities in our storyline ‘hero’. It is only when he has to face what he has truly lost does Jared offer up an apology.

As I stated in my opening remarks WICKED REUNION is a story of second chances-of sorts-because our couple do not reconcile or meet again until the final couple of chapters of the novel, and in this I had some issues with London’s easy acceptance and ability to take back the man that has caused her so much heartache and pain. London welcomes Jared home with open arms, but not everyone is accepting of his return.

WICKED REUNION felt a bit disjointed in the telling of the story but the larger issue is London’s ‘Debbie Downer’ throughout the entire story. The finale was too quick and too neatly packaged-a frustrating end to an over dramatic situation. The conflict and its resolution was barely addressed leaving this reader disappointed. What started off as great potential went downhill very fast.

Naughty KingABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 14, 2015

The King Always Gets His Way.
Women, business, pleasure: When I want it, I get it.
I’m never denied.
Including her.
I will break her.
I will show her who the king of this city really is.
The Feisty Princess of Manhattan will learn I am not a man that can be tempted.
No matter how f*cking bad I want her in my bed.

•••••••••••••

REVIEW: NAUGHTY KING is the part one in Michelle A Valentine’s three part contemporary adult A SEXY MANHATTAN FAIRYTALE erotic romance novella series focusing on billionaire businessman Alexander King, and Margo Buchanan-the daughter of the man Alexander is hoping to financially destroy.

Told from dual first person points of view (Margo and Alexander) NAUGHTY KING introduces the players in a high stakes game of acquisitions and mergers. Margo is a recent Harvard graduate who has found herself the personal assistant to her father’s business enemy Alexander King. King is slowly acquiring Buchanan stocks, and is prepared to sell of the company to the highest bidder. What ensues is an acrimonious relationship steeped in sexual tension and palpable energy between two people whose hatred for one another borders on obsession and desperation. Margo has been hired by King as a favor to her father, but Margo is determined to stop the destruction of her father’s company by stopping Alexander King once and for all.

NAUGHTY KING is a sexually graphic and erotic storyline about two people thrown together by circumstance, power and greed. King is an arrogant manwhore; a sexy, powerful, egotistical jerk who uses woman and throws them away like yesterday’s trash but something about Margo draws Alexander like a moth to a flame, and it is that something that could be the ruination of both of their plans.

Michelle A Valentine writes a steamy storyline with charismatic and colorful characters including a Japanese businessman named Yamada whose personality is that of Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) from The Hangover. Yamada hopes to ensure the future happiness of Alexander King and sets our couple up on a Vegas adventure they will not soon forget.

NAUGHTY KING is a predictable but fun read; an enemies to lovers storyline that only touches the surface King’s dark secrets and broken heart. The premise is entertaining; the characters are intense; the installment ends on a cliff hanger but it is a serialized-style novella series and the cliffie is to be expected.

••••••••••

REVIEW: FEISTY PRINCESS is part two of Michelle A Valentine’s contemporary adult A SEXY MANHATTAN FAIRYTALE serialized erotic romance novella series. This is the continuing story of billionaire businessman Alexander King, and Margo Buchanan. FEISTY PRINCESS should not be read as a stand alone as the premise is built upon the events of book one-Naughty King.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Margo and Alexander) FEISTY PRINCESS follows our leading couple after a weekend in Vegas that changed the dynamics of their relationship and the possibility of a different kind of business merger between Alexander’s company and Buchanan Enterprises. What ensues is Margo and Alexander’s need to make believe they are a loving couple in the hopes of Alexander maintaining control over his company and the board of directors.

FEISTY PRINCESS reveals a different side to our leading hero- a family man whose is protective of his sister, and the people he holds dearest to his heart. Margo has been placed in a precarious position that allows for a modicum of control but will also find our heroine’s heart falling for the man she hates to love. The $ex scenes are intense but not as numerous as in the previous installment.

Michelle A Valentine’s characters are sexy, raw and impassioned. Alexander’s manwhore ways are tamed by the woman with whom he is falling in love but are his feelings for Margo real or just a side effect of their current situation. While Alexander continues to focus on maintaining control of the company his plans to take over Buchanan Enterprises hits a snag when Margo loses someone close to her heart. Margo and Alexander continue to face obstacles, some of their own making, but all in the name of big business, power and control.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 23, 2015

After his mother dies, rock star Ace White—lead singer of the red-hot band Wicked White—is done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesn’t want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some place—any place—where he can be alone.

Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting him—something he’s not telling her.

Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?

••••••••••

REVIEW: WICKED WHITE is the first installment in Michelle A. Valentine’s new, adult, contemporary Wicked White romance series. This is lead singer for the band Wicked White, twenty six year old Ace Johnson-White, and aspiring singer Iris Easton’s storyline.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Ace and Iris), the storyline follows Ace White as he spirals out of control. Tired of the phony celebrity lifestyle, one of which he has no personal or professional control, Ace walks away and goes into hiding following the death of his beloved foster mother Sarah Johnson. With no place in mind, Ace finds himself in a low rent mobile home park where he will meet the woman who calls to his soul-Iris Easton –the trailer park manager and a wanna be Broadway star. What ensues is a slow building relationship as Ace keeps his distance knowing that at any time, he will be on the move without looking back.

The relationship between Ace and Iris begins tempestuously. Ace wants nothing to do with making friends, and his attraction to Iris is immediate and visceral. In the beginning, Iris isn’t aware of Ace’s true identity, and in this, Ace is able to relax knowing that not everyone is out for his fame and fortune. But Ace has a bit of a temper, and when he steps over the line, one too many times, Iris knows her only recourse is to push Ace away-to protect the man with whom she has fallen in love.

We are introduced to Ace’s controlling manager Jane Ann- a woman who is all about the PR and bottom line. Ace’s Wicked White band mates-JJ Kraft White, Luke White and drummer Tyler White are but a blip on the radar wherein the reader learns very little about the other members or the history behind the band’s success. There is a definite dissenting vibe between the trio, one that adds to Ace’s already negative view of fame and celebrity. Just to note, each member of the band is assigned the last name of White as per the record company’s contract.

Iris’s friend and co-worker Birdie is a welcome addition as Iris struggles with her emotions and her need to distance herself from the man that she loves. And Birdie’s grandmother Adele is a force unto herself when she witnesses the fall out of Ace and Iris’s relationship.

WICKED WHITE is a simple storyline without any major complications or anxiety except those brought about by our leading couple. A distinct lack of communication between Ace and Iris leads to misunderstanding, broken hearts, and fallen tears. Unfortunately, I did have some issues as it pertained to the simplicity and lack of angst ridden moments as I did not feel a connection to the characters, or between one another. Their attraction to one another did not have any of the palpable energy as felt in other storylines; it was as though they were going through the motions, taking the reader along for the ride.

I am a big fan of Michelle A. Valentine’s Black Falcon rock series –the quality of writing and world building in the Black Falcon series far outweighs what I found in the Wicked White introductory storyline. It is as though someone else wrote this story; it didn’t have the ‘Michelle A Valentine’ intensity I have come to expect from her writing. The ‘oomph’ factor in Wicked White was missing; there was no frenetic energy to the building romance; and in all honesty, I wanted more information regarding Wicked White’s inception and how they came to be-after all, this is a series title Wicked White. Hopefully, as the series progresses, more history about the band will be revealed.

excerpt

“Iris…that was amazing. You’ve got so much talent,” I praise. Her green eyes light up with excitement like a child’s do on Christmas morning. “You really think so? You’re not just saying that?” “No. I never bullshit about music. You’ve definitely got the chops for Broadway, it’s just…” I hesitate, not wanting to hurt her feelings, but I know that in order for her to get better, she has to be told what she’s doing wrong. She lays her hand on my forearm. “Please, tell me. I can take it. Promise.” I stand beside her, so close that my chest nearly touches her shoulder. I’m itching to touch her, but I won’t do it without permission. “May I touch you?” She draws in a ragged breath and then nods. “Yes.” I curl the fingers of my right hand around her right shoulder and pull back a little so that her posture is perpendicular to the floor. At this angle, I can’t help but notice her heaving chest and how her perky tits move in sync with each breath she takes. I slide my left hand against her toned stomach and my pinkie grazes the warm patch of skin that’s exposed between her T-shirt and the waistband of her jeans. Our contact is fucking electric, and my own breathing picks up speed as I attempt to fight back the arousal I feel for her boiling beneath my surface. “Everything about you is magnetic,” I whisper in her ear, and she shivers at the words. “Don’t be afraid to open your eyes and watch your audience enjoy you. Be confident and project. Let go.” I let go of her shoulder, and move to face her before pressing the repeat button on the machine. As the intro of the song plays, I say, “Do it again, but this time I want you to look at me.” This time when she opens her mouth to sing, when she begins to tip her head down, I slide my index finger under her chin and angle her head so that she’s forced to peer into my eyes. Her words are just barely above a whisper, so I slip my hand back on her abdomen and say, “Project–from here. Sing it like you mean it.” It’s like lightening strikes this beautiful woman in my arms as she sings to me without fear. The words of the song come out effortlessly, and her voice could rival any of the greatest female vocalists of all time. She’s that damn stunning. I nod approvingly and smile. “Yes!” With that little bit of encouragement, she shocks me even more when she pushes herself to hit notes that are above and beyond what she reached the first time. Only on the last lyric does she close her eyes while she holds the note there until the music stops. She releases a contented sigh as soon as the music ends, and when her beautiful eyes meet mine again, they swirl with emotion. Completely blown away, I fumble with the words to tell her just how impressed I am. “Iris, that was–” Without warning, she throws her arms around my neck and crushes her lips against mine. I know kissing her back is wrong, but I’ll be damned if I don’t want her so badly at this point that I can’t stop myself from giving in. I’ve been so good with restraining myself when it comes to Iris, because protecting her from the chaos that I’ll bring her is what’s always been on the forefront of my mind. Her fingers thrust into my hair, and I reach down and curl my hands around her thighs before hoisting her into the air. Instinctively she wraps her legs around my waist, and I thread one of my hands into her tousled curls while the other is busy cupping that perfect ass of hers. “I’ve wanted you since you walked into my trailer,” she breathes against my lips. A thrill shoots through me at her admission of how long she’s wanted me. “You’ve been driving me out of my mind from the moment I first saw you.” “Then take me.”

REVIEW: ROCK MY BODY is the fourth full length and final installment in Michelle A. Valentine’s adult, contemporary Black Falcon erotic romance series focusing on the members of the rock group Black Falcon. This is guitarist and song writer Tyke Douglas, and addiction counselor Dr. Francine Mead’s storyline.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Tyke and Frannie) the premise of ROCK MY BODY focuses on Tyke’s spiral into addiction. Feeling ‘left out’ and going nowhere fast, Tyke’s jealousy of his band mate’s happiness turns inward and Tyke finds himself behind bars without any memory of what happened or why. When his fellow musicians send him packing, he decides to take matters into his own hand but winding up in rehab wasn’t on his list of things to do. Enter Dr. Francine Mead-an addiction counselor whose own addiction will be tested when she meets the gorgeous rock star.

The relationship between Tyke and Frannie is very quick to develop-in fact-so quickly that love at first sight is exactly what occurs between our storyline couple. Frannie knows that to get involved with a patient is ethically wrong but their attraction to one another cannot be denied. Not only does Frannie find herself falling in love but it is Tyke who begins to push for something more permanent. That is until someone at the rehab centre has proof that there is more between Tyke and Frannie than a professional relationship. The sex scenes are not romantic or seductive; in fact the sex is spur of the moment and intense because our couple are testing the ethical values of patient and doctor relationship, and time is of the essence so they don’t get caught.

ROCK MY BODY is a fast paced, quick developing storyline that focuses on the relationship between two addicts whose lives begin to spiral out of control. There are moments of heartbreak, anger and painful realization but in the end there is a happily ever after for the last single member of the Black Falcon band. The epilogue fast forwards the series approximately one year where we will get a glimpse into the lives of the members of Black Falcon.

The secondary characters include the members of Black Falcon for cohesion and familiarity, some of the rehab centre employees and patients, as well as a look into Dr. Mead’s family dynamics. Each chapter begins with a reference to a ‘real life’ song and singer; and throughout we find Tyke writing lyrics as they pertain to his life and his growing love for Francine Mead.

Great series. Wonderful characters. Amazing author.

I flip through the rest of the links, studying more pictures of Tyke. He’s very easy on the eyes with his tall frame, tan complexion, and light hair. Even though he and Trip are twins, their hair sets them apart, making it very easy to tell the difference between them. The more I stare at the man on my screen, the more addicted I become to his profile. He’s devastatingly handsome, and the thought of how attracted I am to just his mere picture scares the shit out of me.
How am I ever supposed to concentrate on helping this man when he’s my own personal brand of tattooed man-flavored candy? This will prove to be a very difficult task, for sure. The best I can hope for is to find that he’s simply photogenic and absolutely hideous in person.
I close my laptop and set it on my nightstand before I tug my glasses from my face and set them on top of it. I double-check my alarm clock and then snuggle down in my bed after offering up a little prayer that I’ll be able to contain myself tomorrow. If Tyke is the stereotypical bad-boy rocker that he appears to be, I’ll need all the help I can get to keep from jumping his bones and jeopardizing the job I’ve worked so hard to get.
