ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 24, 2016

Secrets and seduction make for an explosive combination in HelenKay Dimon’s edgy, thrilling new series, which kicks off with a novel about two men who can handle any threat—except the one posed by desire.

Fisher Braun knows how to keep a secret. As a covert paramilitary operative, his job—and his life—depends on it. He’s at the top of his game, ready for action and always in control. No enemy has ever brought him to his knees, but one lover has: Zachary Allen, the man currently sharing his bed. The perfect package of brains and brawn, Zach is someone worth coming home to, and Fisher hates keeping him in the dark about what he does. But the lies keep Zach safe. Until the day Fisher loses everything. . . .

Zachary Allen is no innocent civilian. Although he plays the tech geek, in reality he’s deep undercover for the CIA. In a horrible twist of fate, the criminal enterprise he’s infiltrated has set its sights on the man whose touch drives him wild. Zach would do anything for Fisher—except blow his own cover. Now, in order to save him, Zach must betray him first. And he needs Fisher to trust him with all his heart if they want to make it out alive.

•••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: MR. AND MR. SMITH is the first installment in HelenKay Dimon’s new, contemporary, adult, romantic suspense series. This is CIA operatives Fisher Braun, and Zachary Allen’s story line- an M/M romantic suspense story with scenes of M/M sexual imagery.

Told from third person point of view MR. AND MR. SMITH focuses on the lies and betrayal between Fisher Braun and Zachary Allen, and the take down of an international criminal ring known as Pentasus. Fisher is an agent with the Special Activities Division (SAD) of the CIA currently on assignment in Britain, where he lives with his boyfriend Zachary Allen. Returning home, Fisher discovers their house has been ransacked and Zach has been taken hostage by the very group Fisher had been investigating. What ensues is the search and rescue of Zachary Allen, and the revelation that Zach is not the man he presented himself to be.

The storyline line focuses on the deceit, lies, and betrayal between two men who have kept hidden, from one another, their CIA assignment and current connections with SAD. While Fisher is destroyed by Zach’s deceit, he is unwilling to accept responsibility for his own lies and betrayal of the man with whom he has fallen in love.

The relationship between Zach and Fisher has already been established at the beginning of the story (and told through flashbacks and memories) but the reader is witness to the fall out from the dishonesty, and Zach’s undercover assignment where Fisher is the intended victim. While Fisher is unable to forgive and forget, he is a man determined to get in one or two last rounds of unforgiving $ex before Zach is sent back in undercover. The $ex scenes are intense, impulsive and energetic as Fisher is angered by Zach’s perceived betrayal. The sexual chemistry and attraction is palpable.

We are introduced to several CIA agents and members of the British Special Activities Division including Fisher’s professional partner Nathan. Nathan’s presence is a balm to Fisher’s anger and resentment. Nathan adds a bit of comic relief.

MR. AND MR. SMITH is a suspense filled story. There are moments of abrasive and emotional tantrums (courtesy of Fisher Braun), and inspiring scenes of one man’s love for another. The premise is entertaining; the characters are an eclectic mix of intense, impassioned and real; the romance is a fight to the finish.

REVIEW: ON HIGHER GROUND by Melissa Collins is the follow-up to ON SOLID GROUND focusing on tattoo artist and shop owner Beckett ‘Beck’ Ridge and former soldier Jacob ‘Dax’ Daxton-two men with darks pasts and even darker issues. ON HIGHER GROUND is Dax and Beck’s continuing journey of loss, love, family, and personal struggles. The story line can be read as a stand alone but for back history and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order.

NOTE: ON HIGHER GROUNDS contains graphic M/M sexual situations.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Dax and Beck) ON HIGHER GROUND advances the series one year and focuses on Dax’s continuing struggle with PTSD, and Beck’s acceptance of the family he has lost. The story line looks at family, healing, personal and emotional growth as well as acceptance of things one cannot change, and the power to change what can be done. From relationships to marriage, to friendships and loss, Melissa Collins touches on the personal cathartic moments, and emotional highs and lows for two people whose pasts are mired in darkness and loss. Marriage brings about a promise for the future, for family, and for a happily ever after-everyone deserves a happily ever after.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 15, 2016

Wolf shifter and Firewalker Phoenix “Nix” Monroe has finally met his ultimate Bondmate—Alpha Pack nurse Noah Brooks. Unable to accept his own sexual identity, Nix rejects Noah despite the intense attraction he feels towards him.

By the time Nix realizes he has cast aside the love of his life, it may be too late to save Noah from a terrifying enemy.

•••••••••

NOTE: PHOENIX REBORN is a M/M story line with same sex situations.

REVIEW: PHOENIX REBORN is the latest novella in J.D. Tyler’s contemporary, adult ALPHA PACK paranormal, romance series focusing on a top secret team of shifters and other supernatural beings with Psy powers and special abilities. This is wolf shifter/Firewalker Phoenix ‘Nix’ Munroe, and Alpha Pack nurse Noah Brooks’s story line. PHOENIX REBORN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from several third person perspectives PHOENIX REBORN focuses on the building relationship between nurse Noah Brooks, and his reluctant mate Nix Munroe. Nix knows that Noah-a human-is his mate but Nix is unwilling to acknowledge his attraction or the fact that he is gay. Nix was raised by a homophobic father, and in this, he has tried everything to prevent his attraction to the man who is his fated ‘bondmate’. But a threat from the past finds Noah in a precarious position, and Nix believing that fate has come full circle.

PHOENIX REBORN is a fast paced novella with a large ensemble cast of characters from the previous storyline in supporting and secondary roles. The world building focuses on the struggle for acceptance; family and love. The premise is simple without too much angst; the characters are engaging; the happily ever after is a slow build to forever. Because this is a novella, I found the story line lacking in sensuality and the build up of the relationship was too quick. The simplicity of the text seems discordant with the rest of the series-a unembellished tale that should have been more inviting.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 4, 2015-a review

Between love and hate, there’s a whole lot of trouble…

Chad Lake only showed up at his sister’s party for the free food, but when he spots an uptight nerd at the edge of the crowd, he can’t resist trying to ruffle the guy’s perfect bow tie and impeccable hair. The hottie’s ready for him, though, and in the end, it’s Chad who’s left wide-eyed, his ears still ringing with the filthy things Bow Tie whispered in his ear. No one gets the upper hand on Chad. Ever.

Owen Hawkins has heard all about the cocky Adonis from Chad’s sister—the same sister who holds Owen’s career advancement in her hands. He has every intention of steering clear of the other man…until Chad’s sexy taunts push him too far. There’s something intriguing about Chad, and even though Owen knows that getting tangled up with the infuriating man is trouble, he can’t seem to stay away…

•••••••••••••

REVIEW: TIED TO TROUBLE is the third installment in Megan Erickson’s contemporary, adult GAMERS erotic, romance series. This is bartender Chad Lake, and GAMERS magazine copy editor Owen Hawkins. TIED TO TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: TIED TO TROUBLE is a M/M story line with graphic, sexual imagery and text.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Chad and Owen) TIED TO TROUBLE focuses on the building relationship between Chad Lake-Marley Lake’s (Chasing His Game #1) younger brother, and Owen Hawkins-Marley’s coworker at Gamers Magazine. Chad is a twenty seven year old sexy, bad boy who is struggling to find his place in the world. Working as a bartender but hoping for something else, Chad finds himself attracted to his sister’s co-worker Owen Hawkins-a copy editor, eye glass wearing, bow tie wearing nerd who pushes all of Chad’s buttons. What ensues is a push and pull romance between two people who want something more from life and love.

The relationship between Chad and Owen is one of immediate attraction but Chad and Owen are opposites: Chad is the sexy, bad boy; the bartending partier who has failed to follow a successful life path. Owen is a successful copy editor with some issues of low self esteem; a man who believes he is not worthy of a man like Chad. When Chad and Owen are asked to work together on a surprise for Marley, the sexual attraction between our leading couple increases but a lie and a misunderstanding push Owen and Chad in opposite directions-once again. The $ex scenes are erotic, intense and seductive.

All of the previous story line couples play a secondary and supporting role. Part of the story line focuses on Marley and Austin’s (Changing His Game #1) continuing relationship-their future and their love, and Chad and Owen’s connection to their possible

TIED TO TROUBLE has a little bit of everything: $ex and romance; lies and betrayal; forgiveness and fun. The premise is spirited and sexy; the characters are dynamic; the romance is impassioned but there were a couple of questionable moments with Chad’s behavior towards the man that he loved.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 15, 2015

FERAL PASSIONS (A Feral Passions Novel) by Kate Douglas

Welcome to Feral Passions, a luxurious private resort nestled in a preserve and staffed by dangerously sexy men, making it a haven for women who want to get away from it all. But Feral Passions is a front for a deeper, sexier secret-it’s a hunting ground for these men. Men focused on meeting each woman’s every need. Men who are also the beautiful wolves running wild…and who are looking for mates.

Chereza Dubios is more comfortable solving math equations than she is with her voluptuous body and meeting men. But when her younger sister and best friend trick her into vacationing at Feral Passions, Cherry finds herself attracted and torn between two men who find her curvy body and intelligent mind irresistible. Two men who share a secret-they want to share her.

But that takes trust-can Cherry open herself to love with two sensual and powerful werewolves?

REVIEW: FERAL PASSIONS is the first installment in Kate Douglas’s new, contemporary adult Feral Passions erotic, paranormal romance series. Feral Passions focuses on the Feral Passions exclusive resort owned and operated by a pack of male wolf shifters looking for mates. This is wolf shifters, best friends and lovers Cain and Brad, and human female Chereza (Cherry) Dubios’s storyline.

NOTE: FERAL PASSIONS is a ménage romance with graphic depictions of MM, MFM, and MMF sexual situations.

Cherry is a woman whose self esteem and self confidence has been low for a number of years due to her size and a horrific, sexual experience and bullying in high school. Along with her sister Christa, and Christa’s best friend Steph, the three women have booked a week’s stay at Feral Passions Resort where each will meet their future but not necessarily what each had expected. The storyline follows the building relationship between Cherry, Brad and Cain, as well as getting a glimpse into Christa’s new found relationship with Steph and two other wolf shifters (Wils and Ronan) who believe they have found their future mates. Cherry is a strong, independent woman who loves to read paranormal romance storylines, and in this Cherry begins to suspect that the men of Feral Passions are not what they appear to be.

FERAL PASSIONS is an entertaining and easy read; an erotic, paranormal storyline with a little bit of humor, passion, $ex and a happily ever after with very little conflict or angst-in fact, the conflict(or misunderstanding) was but a blip on the radar and for all intents and purposes was unnecessary and quick to resolve.

THE ALPHA’S WOMAN (A Wolf Mates Novel) by A.C. Arthur

Kira Radney is all delicious curves and strong will and has no desire to be a subservient mate. When a member of her father’s pack attempts to make her his mate by force, Kira has no choice but to flee. The last thing she wants is to submit to any male and their pack. But when her escape attempt leads her straight into the arms of an alpha wolf-a sexy, dangerous, protective alpha-Kira must fight against her need to be free, and her secret desire to be controlled…

REVIEW: THE ALPHA’S WOMAN is the first installment in A.C.Arthur’s WOLF MATES paranormal romance series. This is Blaez and Kira’s storyline- a tale steeped in mythology, a hierarchal society, and a history that goes back hundreds if not thousands of years. The storyline does not focus on shifter wolves but a hybrid species with supernatural powers, increased speed and special abilities.

Kira is an alpha female who is on the run in the hopes of staying one step ahead of her father and his pack. With the recent ‘accidental death’ of her mother, Kira’s future is now in the hands of the males of her father’s pack-a father who is aware of his only child’s potential for great power and rule. Finding herself a ‘virtual’ prisoner of an enemy pack, Kira knows that to escape would mean years on the run ending with her death or imprisonment by the very people with whom she was raised. What ensues, is a slow building relationship between Kira and Blaez, and the revelation that Kira’s future and fate lies in the hands of the wolf with whom she is falling in love.

THE ALPHA’S WOMAN is a slow building storyline wherein Kira’s past, present and future are revealed a little at a time, and Blaez’s true nature and power is not revealed until the very end. There are hints and clues that point at the potential for greatness for both of our leading characters; and the storyline is awash in mythology, wolf lore, and the inception of shifters in a world run by gods and hybrids, wolves and humans. The $ex scenes are aggressive and erotic; consent is dubious on a couple of occasions.

••••••••••

CLAIMED BY THE MATE is a two part paranormal, romance anthology with pluses and minus that affected my enjoyment or lack there of. Each author and storyline is different in voice, content, structure and writing style. The BBW aspect is addressed in FERAL PASSIONS wherein the heroine’s self esteem and lack of confidence is measured by her size and perceived lack of beauty and attraction by the opposite sex. THE ALPHA’S WOMAN barely touches upon the BBW except to offer up a derogatory comment by the heroine’s pack members who are disgusted by the size of her hips and a$$. In both storylines the big and beautiful woman is the object of ridicule and derision before eventually finding someone who accepts the heroine for all of her perceived faults and extra pounds. I am not a big fan of the BBW storylines as the attitudes about size and beauty add fuel to the perceived notion of fat shaming in modern society regardless of the inevitable happily ever after at the end-it is the path towards happiness that is doused in shame and self deprecation. And if a size 16 is considered too big to be loved, then we all have bigger issues at hand.

FERAL PASSIONS is more fluff than substance focusing on the erotic nature of the ménage love affair; THE ALPHA’S WOMAN is not a ménage storyline but a story steeped in tradition and lore, and finding the one woman ‘selected’ to be the other half of your soul.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 31, 2015

Firefighter Gage Simpson has it all: the job of his dreams, the family of his heart, and no shortage of hot guys lining up to share his bed. “Fun and easy” is his motto—and it’s kept him sunny through a painful upbringing and steered him away from trouble. But when trouble comes knocking in the form of a sexy, scarred, tattooed chef with a harrowing past and zero communication skills, Gage can’t help but be drawn to the flame.

Brady Smith isn’t fun. And easy isn’t in his vocabulary. When cocky Gage swaggers into his restaurant kitchen, the former Marine-turned-five-star-chef is blindsided by the firefighter’s beauty. Then confused that this golden guy with the sparkling blue eyes and the body of a god might be interested in him. As desire flares and temperatures rise, Gage and Brady will have to figure out if the heat between them is just a temporary flash—or the beginning of something real.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: MELTING POINT is the second installment (and novella) in Kate Meader’s contemporary, adult Hot in Chicago erotic romance series focusing on the men and women in uniform of the Chicago Police and Fire Departments. This is executive chef and Marine veteran Brady Smith, and twenty four year old firefighter and model Gage Simpson’s storyline.

NOTE: MELTING POINT contains graphic scenes of M/M sexual imagery, and is recommended for readers 18+.

Told from dual third person perspectives MELTING POINT focuses on the building relationship between Gage and Brady. Brady is a former Marine whose physical and emotional scars are the stuff of nightmares, survivor’s guilt and PTSD. His attraction to sexy firefighter Gage Simpson places Brady in a tenuous position as he is unable to bear the pity and touch of another human being. But Gage is a man who isn’t afraid to go for what he wants, and Gage wants Brady in his bed and in his life. What ensues is Gage’s seduction of Brady Smith breaking down the barriers both of our storyline heroes have erected to protect their hearts and their souls. When Brady gets injured while out on his bike, Gage places himself as nurse and protector for the man who calls to his heart.

The relationship between Gage and Brady is one of immediate attraction. Our leading couple met in the previous storyline (Flirting With Fire #1) where Gage’s attraction to Brady was met with rejection and incredulity. Brady is unable to understand Gage’s attraction to his emotionally damaged mind and scarred-up body; Brady had issues of intimacy and touch; and in this Brady believes that their sexual relationship has a time limit until Gage finds someone better. Gage isn’t looking for a one-night stand but he is a man who is looking for lots of hot and sweaty $ex. The $ex scenes are erotic, intense, passionate and graphic.

The world building pulled the focus of the storyline away from the Fire Department and into the bedroom of its two leading characters. Although we get a quick glimpse into Gage’s kitchen ability with the CPD, there was only a quick reference to firefighting. Where Flirting With Fire (book 1) introduced the leading players in Kate Meader’s HOT IN CHICAGO series, MELTING POINT kept its focus on the two storyline characters. We are re-introduced to Mayor Eli Cooper whose history with Chef Brady Smith goes beyond friendship-he has first hand knowledge of the hell Brady endured in an Afghanistan prison, and he is hoping to play matchmaker between Brady and Gage.

MELTING POINT is a fast paced storyline that focuses on recovery and letting go of the past-not just for Brady Smith but for Gage as well. There are moments of heartbreak for two men whose earlier years were filled with pain and betrayal; and the growing tenderness as they learn to love and trust one another-in the here and now. Kate Meader blends a little bit of fire with a whole lot of heat as one of Chicago’s finest finds his happily ever after.

About the book: Release Date March 24, 2015

Savvy PR guru Kinsey Taylor has always defined herself by her career, not her gender. That is, until she moved from San Francisco to Chicago to be with her fiancé who thought she wasn’t taking her “job” of supporting him in his high-powered career seriously enough—and promptly dumped her for a more supportive and “feminine” nurse. Now, as the new assistant press secretary to Chicago’s dynamic mayor, she’s determined to keep her eye on the prize: no time to feel inferior because she’s a strong, kick-ass woman, and certainly no time for men.

But that all changes when she meets Luke Almeida, a firefighter as searingly sexy as he is quick-tempered. He’s also the second oldest of the Firefightin’ Dempseys, a family of foster siblings who have committed their lives to the service—if Luke’s antics don’t get him fired first. When Luke goes one step too far and gets into a bar brawl with the Chicago Police Department, Kinsey marches into Luke’s firehouse and lays down the law on orders from the mayor. But at Engine Co. 6, Luke Almeida is the law. And he’s not about to let Kinsey make the rules.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Liam Davis is a man without a past. That’s what he wants everyone to believe, anyway. Hell-bent on erasing any memories of his previous life, he knows that starting over is all he can do. Hiding who he is, where he’s from, why he’s running, and especially who he’s left behind, Liam has run away from everything he’s ever known. His plan works perfectly until one day when Parker Ryan threatens to expose his carefully concealed world.

Parker Ryan is a man without a future. Sure, he’s a partner in one of New York’s most prestigious law firms, but he’ll never be more than a failure in the eyes of his boss, his father. Rather than break away from his father’s standards, he finds himself mindlessly pursuing them, in turn sacrificing anything that would actually make him happy.

When Liam’s and Parker’s lives collide, the ugly truth about who they really are, and who they hope to become reveals itself when they least expect it. As both of their lives become wrecked beyond all belief, they’ll learn how to rely on each other in their journey to become Repaired.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: REPAIRED is the latest, stand alone, adult, contemporary M/M romance novel by Melissa Collins. This is auto mechanic Liam Davis, and attorney Parker Ryan’s story.

NOTE: REPAIRED is a M/M romance storyline with graphic scenes of sexual imagery.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Liam and Parker) REPAIRED follows the building relationship between Liam and Parker-total opposites in every way but both vulnerable to pain and rejection. When Parker’s BMW hits a pothole Liam is the first on the scene to assess the damage, and the attraction between Liam and Parker is immediate. What ensues is Parker’s pursuit of Liam, and Liam’s need to push away when anyone gets too close to the truth about his past.

Liam is a quiet, sweet twenty seven year old man whose past is rife with abuse. Ten years earlier, Liam ran away from home in search of something else-anything else-that would help bury the pain and emotional wounds. Enter Paulie-the owner of an auto shop who takes Liam under his wing, and for all intents and purposes becomes Liam’s family and friend. Liam has kept most of his previous life a secret; the pain and embarrassment about the truth find our hero locked in a world of guilt and shame.

Parker Ryan is an attorney in his father’s prestigious law firm but coming out to his family was met with disillusionment by his homophobic father. Parker is a man who is looking for his father’s approval but knows that nothing he will ever do will make his father proud. When their latest case finds Parker questioning the truth about the evidence before him, he knows it is time to move on with his life.

The relationship between Parker and Liam is heightened by their mutual needs and understanding of rejection and heartbreak. The chemistry and sexual attraction is palpable; their connection to one another is realistic and heartwarming. The $ex scenes provocation and emotional; Liam and Parker are searching for love and acceptance, and will find it with one another, through the pain and guilt. Liam must overcome the darkness of his past, and Parker is the man to bring Liam into the present.

The secondary characters include autoshop owner Paulie and his wife Annie who are more than family to Liam Davis. We are also introduced to Liam’s ex Gabe, and Parker’s ex Zan-Zan and Gabe will meet and there is another potential love match on the horizon. There are a number of regulars at the local bar where Liam hangs with his friends; and Parker’s father whose only concern is the bottom line-no matter the truth about the people he represents.

REPAIRED is a heartbreaking but encouraging storyline about two people from opposite backgrounds who will find love with one another through their mutual need for love and acceptance. The premise is moving and inspiring; the characters charismatic, colorful and intense; the happily ever after fated and inspiring. Melissa Collins romance storylines are intimate, captivating and sensual. I would never hesitate to recommend one of her intoxicating M/M romance storylines.

Excerpt Black and Hot Pink

When I looked down at my watch, I realized it was still early enough to catch the usual crowd down at Murray’s. Parker’s face lit up at the suggestion, probably because the thought of a pool game and a few beers was a hell of a lot more appealing than being schooled in painting.
When we pulled into the parking lot, I saw Gabe’s car parked in its usual spot. Tipping my head at the black sedan, I said, “Windows are all steamed up. Wonder who he’s got in there.” Parker looked to where Gabe was parked and laughed.
“It’s Zan,” he said with an odd air of certainty.
“How do you know?” Twisting in my seat, I unclicked the belt. “You can’t possibly see in there.”
“The blue car is his. Besides, I may have thrown them together the night I went looking for you.”
As we walked to the entrance, the car doors swung open. Gabe exited first, busied with tucking his shirt back in. We stopped just in time to catch Zan stepping out the other door, refastening his jeans. “Well, well, well,” I joked. “Looks like someone was having a little fun.”
Gabe slammed his door and walked to the other side where Zan stood, shocked into silence. He reached down and took Zan’s hand in his own. “Yeah, and based on the smug-ass look on your faces, I’d say you two were having fun not all that long ago.”
“You think we can stop talking about our collective sex lives long enough to grab a beer?” Zan butted in, desperate to change the conversation.
Once inside, we set up a game of pool and laughed over a few pitchers of beers. Sitting to the side of the game, I watched as Gabe and Parker laughed together, ribbing on each other pretty good. It was impossible not to be happy for Gabe when I caught him stealing casual touches from Zan. Whatever it was that was brewing between the two of them, it looked good on them.
“I think I’m done handling big sticks for the night,” Parker declared jokingly as he placed his pool cue on the table. “Until later of course.” The drinks had made his lips a touch looser and out came the joker. It was times like this when the parts of Parker’s character, which he’d tried to hide for so long, came out to play.
Waggling an eyebrow at me, he bumped my shoulder with his, nearly toppling me over. “Hit your limits already?” Keeping my voice low, I whispered my question to Parker as we walked over to a table. Zan and Gabe looked as if they were lost in a similar private conversation as they walked over to the bar to order another round of drinks.
Shrugging, his answer was of the simplest kind. “Just celebrating I guess.” Before we slid into our seats, he promised he’d slow down, not wanting to be a burden on me.
Grabbing his shoulders, I made sure to look deep into his sapphire blue eyes. “I’m never burdened by you. Ever. If anything, I’m better because of you.”
“Thank you,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to my cheek. “And I want to be better for you.”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 16, 2015

Four years after an accident tore their friendship apart, Hunter and Devon are living separate lives. Hunter is now the all-America hero—a congressman’s son and a pro pitcher in Houston preparing to marry his beauty-queen girlfriend. Devon is in Dallas running a new restaurant.

But when Hunter unexpectedly shows up in Devon’s bar, Devon can’t turn him away. Damn it if the man isn’t still gorgeous. But engaged? Hell no. All he’s doing for Devon is bringing back memories of their college-roommate days, and the night their relationship went too far. Turns out Hunter has never forgotten it either.

Now Devon can’t help but be drawn in all over again by the only guy who’s ever gotten close enough to break his heart. Maybe one more night together would be enough for both of them to finally move on. Or maybe one night will change everything…

REVIEW: YOURS ALL ALONG is the latest novella in Roni Loren’s adult, contemporary Loving on the Edge erotic romance series. This is restaurateur Devon Crowe, and MLB baseball pitcher Hunter Riley-a friend to lovers, M/M romance storyline that can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Devon and Hunter) YOURS ALL ALONG looks at the history –college years to present day- between Devon and Hunter, and what transpired to end their tight knit friendship. Fraternity brothers whose lives couldn’t have been more different, Devon and Hunter had one another’s back but Devon’s gay lifestyle was not conducive to Hunter’s family plans.

Throughout the storyline we watch as a friendship leads to love, and a sexual relationship between roommates uncovers a need and want in Hunter Riley. But Hunter’s politically connected family had other plans, and following an accident that found Hunter in critical condition, Hunter was ripped from Devon’s life when Hunter’s father suspected the truth about his son’s roommate’s sexual behavior.

YOUR ALL ALONG is a story of a building romance and love connection between best friends and eventual lovers. It is a M/M storyline with some graphic sexual imagery and a hope for a happily ever after. Roni Loren pulls the reader into an uplifting, impassioned and sometimes heartbreaking story about two people whose friendship and love for one another were destroyed through discrimination, bigotry and homophobic ideals.

“But first . . .” Phil said, wincing a bit. “I have one more customer who requested to see the manager.”
“Ah, fuck.” One more complaint tonight and Devon might lose it. “Where?”
Phil pointed to a booth near the front window. “Big guy in the baseball cap. He’s nearly polished off a bottle of cabernet, so be warned.”
Great. Only thing worse than an unhappy customer was a ranting, drunk one.
Devon swallowed another sip of his own drink, then headed toward the corner booth. The guy’s back was to him, and he seemed to be staring out the window at the cars passing by on the downtown street. The flatbread he’d ordered was sitting mostly untouched in the center of the table.
Damn, Bryce couldn’t have managed to screw up a simple pizza, could he? Devon squeezed between two empty tables and straightened his suit jacket before stepping around to face the man, an apology poised on his lips. “Sir, how can I help—?”
But the question died in the air as the man looked up from beneath the bill of his ball cap. Dark, soulful eyes stared back at Devon from a face he knew better than his own. Any cogent response melted right out of his ears. “Jesus Christ.”
Hunter looked Devon up and down, his brows knitting in that way that indicated alcohol-blurred thoughts. “Wow, you look . . . important.”
Devon couldn’t help taking his own eyeful. Shaggy black hair peeking out from beneath the cap, tight T-shirt spread over shoulders and pecs honed for top athletic performance—a body Devon had ogled way too many times when he and Hunter had shared a room in the frat house.
“And you look . . .” Fucking amazing. Perfect. Even better than on TV. “Drunk. What the hell are you doing here, Hunt?”
His grin was lazy, lopsided. “I’m on vacation.” He raised a finger to his mouth. “Shh, don’t tell anyone. Top secret.”
Devon braced his hands on the table and sank onto the bench seat on the other side of the booth, not sure his legs were going to continue to hold him up. “Vacation?”
Hunter lifted his glass. “You know I haven’t had alcohol in four years.”
Four years. Which was exactly how long it’d been since Devon had last seen him. He tried to take a breath, but the room seemed to have less air in it than a moment before. He ran through the reasons why Hunter could possibly be here right now. Drinking. In his bar.
The guy had become the poster child of clean living after college. And over the last few years, the sports media had nearly canonized him for the turnaround. The congressman’s son. The stellar pitcher. The all-American guy with the beauty queen girlfriend.
Not that Devon had been paying attention. Or recording every game he pitched.
God, he was pathetic.
He cleared his throat, trying to come up with something to say. “Why are you drinking now?”
Hunter pointed at him, his finger wavering. “Good question.”
He followed up with a sage nod like he’d explained everything.
Fuck. The guy was hammered. The waitress probably hadn’t blinked at letting Hunter order a few glasses. He was big and broad—a guy who looked able to handle his liquor. But Hunter’s tolerance had always been low, and if he’d been sober for four years, that would only have made it worse. Devon grabbed the stem of Hunter’s half-empty glass, moved it to the side, and then replaced the spot in front of him with the flatbread. “You need to eat something, big man.”
The old nickname rolled off of Dev’s tongue before he caught it, and Hunter stiffened. Sober awareness flickered in his dark eyes, as if the words had snapped him temporarily from the wine haze. He shook his head. “Need to go.”
He shifted as if to stand, but Devon jumped up and put a firm hand on Hunter’s shoulder, pushing him back down. Their gazes locked for a moment, Devon looming over Hunter, the position dragging him back to memories he didn’t want to access right now, fantasies he’d conjured since. He shook them off and cleared his throat. “No way. You’re not going anywhere.”

Favorite Experiences or…Worst experiences

Top 5 Favorite Experiences as a Writer

1. Seeing my book on the shelf of a bookstore – Even eight books in, this never ever gets old. Every time I walk through my Barnes and Noble and see one of my books sitting there, I get an inner squee. It never feels real. Maybe that’s because I grew up a reader, and bookstores and libraries have always been hallowed places for me. Now I’m on those shelves. Surreal.

2. Breaking through writer’s block – Some people say writer’s block doesn’t exist, it’s just fear or a sign that you’ve taken a wrong turn. My response—well if it’s fear or a wrong turn, it’s still a thing, which means it exists. And it definitely exists for me. I hit a block at least once in every book. The wrong turn this is usually the answer, but finding exactly what and where that wrong turn is can drive me up the wall (or into the fetal position.) Now I’ve learned to accept a block as part of my process. Doesn’t make it easier, but I at least know that I always get through them eventually. And that moment when the light bulb goes on—that’s the best.

3. When a reader goes fangirl/boy at an event/signing – This first few times this happened to me, I looked over my shoulder because I figured someone was getting that giddy look on their face because there was an important author behind me, lol. I still have the instinct to check behind me, but I can say that nothing is more flattering and thrilling than someone being excited about my books. It makes my day every damn time.

4. Having a story idea knock me over the head – You can’t really force story ideas. Well, at least I can’t. I’ve tried. So there is something so wonderful about that moment where an idea hits me. It’s usually when I’m not thinking about writing at all. Showers. Washing dishes. Going on vacation. Watching TV. The idea for YOURS ALL ALONG happened when I was watching last season of Big Brother (The Zankie bromance for those who watched it.) That’s one of the best parts of being a writer. Getting that idea that lights you up.

5. Giving characters happy endings – I write romance for a reason. I put my characters through hell, but there’s nothing more satisfying then giving them their happily ever after at the end. When I finish a book and write those last lines, I always have the biggest, goofiest smile on my face (and not just because I finally finished the damn book, lol.) Life can be grim. I get to write the happy. Best job ever.

About The Author beige

Roni LorenRoni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. Though she’ll forever be a New Orleans girl at heart, she now lives in Dallas with her husband and son.

If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching reality television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to rockstars, er, rock concerts. Yeah, that’s it. She is the National Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat.
