ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 18, 2017

Katerina Dawson knows exactly what she wants from life. And as the new associate at the top law firm in the city, she’s ready to live out her dreams of becoming a criminal lawyer. But going on coffee runs and babysitting kids during the day was definitely not what she had in mind. She knows that anyone else would kill to be in her shoes, but she has to draw the line somewhere. That’s easier said than done, though, when Kat has to confront her handsome boss…

Tristan Channing and Jaxon Bentley run a successful law firm together and the two partners couldn’t be busier right now. When Jaxon suddenly takes a leave of absence, Tristan begrudgingly assumes responsibility of the new associate, the hot new associate, who has curves for days. Needing to keep his distance from her, Tristan sends Kat on needless errands and has her doing work even an intern wouldn’t touch, like picking up his kids. But his plan backfires when he sees his children grow attached to Kat and sees her getting comfortable in his home. It triggers something deep within him, and it feels right to have her there. Will Tristan be able to keep his work and personal lives separate, or will he find that his heart holds the final verdict?

REVIEW: BREACHING THE CONTRACT is the first installment in Chantal Fernando’s contemporary, adult CONFLICT OF INTEREST erotic, romance series of novellas. This is attorney Tristan Channing, and attorney Katerina Dawson’s story line.

Told from first person point of view (Katerina) BREACHING THE CONTRACT focuses on the building relationship between lawyers Katerina Dawson and Tristan Channing. Kat is a recent grad, and the new associate at one of the top law firms in the city. Hired by Jaxon Bentley, Kat finds herself thrust into the legal world of research and litigation but an emergency pulled Jaxon home leaving Kat under the mentorship of Tristan Channing- a man with a reputation hard as steel for making the newbies quit and cry. What ensues is the building romance between our leading couple, and the potential fall out when someone else’s past transgression could potentially destroy Tristan’s well –ordered world.

BREACHING THE CONTRACT is a quick read: a fast paced story line about two people thrown together in both their personal and professional lives. The story line conflict is limited to Tristan’s attraction to Kat, and the upheaval in his personal life at home. The premise is sexy; the characters are colorful and passionate although I would have liked more information about their individual history and background; the romance is seductive and intense. BREACHING THE CONTRACT is an energetic and hopeful story of romance, second chances, and a happily ever after.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 19, 2017

The Carolina Cold Fury hockey team is stacked with hotshots. But when a new player joins their ranks, he learns that even superstars can’t go it alone when it comes to love.

Lucas Fournier is only serious about one thing: hockey. The league’s fun-loving charmer, Luc is always up for a good prank or a great lay, and he has no intention of settling down. But being traded to the Carolina Cold Fury—and to play alongside his big brother, Max—is no joke. With another title in sight, the last thing Luc wants is to let his new teammates down. To succeed, Luc will need to keep his head in the game and the most . . . er, demanding member of his anatomy in check. But when temptation hits, Luc hits back harder.

Museum curator Stephanie Frazier has always put business before pleasure, which just about explains her nonexistent sex life. But when Stephanie meets Luc at a champagne-fueled gala, she finds herself flirting like crazy—and going home with the uninhibited athlete. For one night, she learns what passion is all about. She just never counted on the little surprise Luc leaves behind. And that’s when things really start to get . . . interesting.

••••••••••••

REVIEW: LUCAS is the eighth installment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult COLD FURY HOCKEY erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women of the Carolina Cold Fury professional hockey team. This is defenseman Lucas Fournier, and museum curator Stephanie Frazier’s story line. LUCAS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Lucas is Max Fournier’s (MAX) younger brother.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Luc and Stephanie) LUCAS follows the building relationship between the Carolina Cold Fury’s latest player acquisition Lucas Fournier, and museum curator Stephanie Frazier. Having met at a local fund raising gala Lucas finds himself up close and personal with the woman in charge. Enter Stephanie Frazier, museum curator and the woman with whom Lucas will fall in love. A one-night stand with Stephanie will change Lucas Fournier’s future-a future he is hoping to convince Stephanie to come along for the ride.

Stephanie struggles with memories from the past-a past shrouded in parental emotional and physical neglect that has shaped our heroine’s outlook with low self esteem and the inability to trust. Lucas is a man determined to bring Stephanie out of her shell but Stephanie’s past has done too much damage to be overcome by the seduction of Lucas Fournier.

The relationship between Stephanie and Lucas is one of immediate attraction but an attraction that is tempered by Stephanie’s news and Lucas’s battle for the Stanley Cup. Lucas makes every attempt to bring Stephanie into his life but our heroine battles too many demons. Stephanie’s inability to move on from the past is frustrating-sometimes growing up means taking responsibility for the present and the future-not wallowing in what was or what could have been. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Several of the previous story line characters including Max and his fiancée Jules, and Luc’s parents Marilyn and Laurence Fournier play secondary and supporting roles. We are re-introduced to Max and Lucas’s younger sister Simone, and Luc’s teammate/roommate Van Turner. Simone and Van’s story line is next.

LUCAS is a heartbreaking and emotional story line as one woman struggles with her past, and the man who is willing to push her to accept everything he has to offer. Both of the leading characters have issues with maturity including the push and pull, yin and yang of a relationship that was never meant to go beyond a one-night stand. Stephanie’s independence is hampered by her stubbornness, thick walls, and inability to let go of the past. The premise is engaging; the romance is edgy but I struggled with my lack of lack of concern for the story line heroine. I could completely understand Luc’s frustration with the emotional distance and attitude of the woman with whom he had fallen in love.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 19, 2017

He’s a womanizer. He’s cocky. He’s not exactly a prince. Only he technically is. Meet your new royal obsession in this addictive novel from New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff.

Being rich opens a lot of doors. When you’re rich and royal, those doors lead to a new bedroom every night. I should know. The tabloids call me His Royal Hotness, Prince Kian of Wildemar. Women across the world see me as a naughty fairy tale, an image I’m happy to indulge. As the spare to the heir, I’m the prince with none of the power . . . and all of the perks.

Then my twin brother is kidnapped, and suddenly I’m the one who could be king. The crown chasers start circling—and yet it’s a luscious waitress who catches my eye. With a smart mouth and the curves to back it up, Savannah Breslin is as brazen as I’d expect an American commoner to be.

But Savvy’s not interested in playing Cinderella. As sexy as she is, she’s no stranger to heartbreak. Besides, a nice guy wouldn’t drag her into all the drama that comes along with royalty. Lucky I’m not a nice guy. And, as it turns out, I might not even be her first prince.

•••••••••

REVIEW: ROYAL PAIN is the first installment in Tracy Wolff’s contemporary, adult HIS ROYAL HOTNESS erotic, romance series. This is Prince Kian of Wildemar, and waitress Savannah Breslin’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Savvy and Kian) ROYAL PAIN follows the building relationship between Prince Kian of Wildemar, and commoner Savannah Brelsin. Weeks earlier Crown Prince Garrett of Wildemar, and Kian’s twin brother disappeared without a trace. Presumed kidnapped by an anti-monarchy group, Garrett’s whereabouts and safety are unknown. Enter Prince Kian, the spare to the heir’, and a man completely unprepared to ascend to the throne. A manwhore by reputation but a skilled member of the country’s military, Kian is all about partying and fun including his new found interest waitress Savannah Breslin. What ensues is the building relationship between Savannah and Kian; the search and rescue of Prince Garrett; and the potential fall out as Savannah struggles with her position in the Prince’s life.

ROYAL PAIN is a story of family; a dysfunctional family wherein the patriarch is all about position and presentation but a presentation that appears to place the people of Wildemar ahead of his own sons’ welfare but appearances can be deceiving. While the search continues for Prince Garrett, Prince Kian endeavors to mourn the potential loss of his brother as he drowns himself in Savannah Breslin.

The relationship between Savvy and Kian is one of immediate attraction, but an attraction that is complicated by Kian’s royal heritage, and Savannah’s history with a former love that is revealed very early into the story line premise. The $ex scenes are numerous, intimate and intense. Kian is desperate to bury the pain of his brother’s kidnapping with a woman who will not be accepted as a royal mate.

I had a difficult time connecting with the characters including the relationship between Kian and Savvy. I know there is a psychological explanation behind Kian’s need to seek comfort from Savannah Breslin but it is Savannah’s romantic history that is a bigger concern in spite of Kian’s need for our story line heroine. I am purposely being vague about Savannah’s past because it should have been a major point of conflict but was brushed over and accepted too easily and quickly. The premise is entertaining but it lacked the emotional ‘feels’ under the circumstance; the characters are superficial; the romance is energetic and edgy. I am looking forward to Garrett’s story-here’s hoping he is able to overcome the tragedy of his recent abduction.

Excerpt intended for mature readers 18+ due to language and content

“What if I promise to stay in view of the windows the whole time?” I tell them. “I’ll park myself right there in front of that one and you can make sure I’m safe.”
Lucas looks like he wants to argue, but I cut him off before he can even start. “Come on, man. You’ve got to give me something. I like this woman.”
He sighs, but in the end—above the very vocal protests of the very serious Avery—he nods. “In sight the whole time,” he orders and for a moment I feel like a junior high kid on his first date.
But beggars can’t be choosers and I know, better than most, what a disaster it would be if something happened to the spare three months after the heir disappeared. Wildemar would be in absolute chaos. There’s no way I’d put my country through that, girl or no girl.
“I promise. And if I disappear from sight for more than five seconds, you have my permission to come crashing in after me.”
“I think you’re forgetting,” Niall says with a narrow-eyed look, “we don’t need your permission.”
“Geez. Way to be a killjoy.”
“Yeah, well, someone in this relationship has to be.”
“Aww, Niall.” I slap his ass with my free hand on my way by. “Don’t you know it’s more fun when everyone’s having a good time?”
Lucas snorts and Avery sounds like he’s strangling on his own tongue. I can’t help grinning as I make my way to Savvy’s front door. Maybe it won’t take as long to break in my new bodyguard as I was afraid of.
I can hear music through the open windows, Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie,” and I can’t help thinking about the way Savvy’s hips looked in her black work pants. Can’t help wondering about what she’s wearing now—and whether or not she’ll let me get another good look at her luscious, heart-shaped ass.
At least she’s home, I tell myself as I knock. While I knew she wasn’t scheduled to work, I was afraid she might be running errands or something.
She’s at the front door in seconds, her big brown eyes wide and inquiring . . . at least until her gaze meets mine. “What are you doing here?” she demands.
“Wow, way to make a guy feel welcome.” I hold the flowers out to her. “These are for you.”
“Thanks, but I’m allergic.” She starts to close the door in my face, but I get a foot wedged in before she can shut it completely.
“Are you seriously allergic?” I ask, still holding out the flowers. What I really want to ask is Are you seriously going to slam the door in my face?
“No.” She studies the blooms for a couple of seconds before snatching them out of my hand. Then she really does close the door and I’m so surprised I don’t do anything to stop her.
Behind me Lucas, Niall and even Avery are full-on laughing now. In fact, I’m pretty sure the only thing keeping them from absolutely annihilating me is the fact that I am still their prince. That somehow only makes it worse.
Gritting my teeth, I ignore them (and try not to remember the good old days when I could have had them banished to the dungeon) as I lift my hand to knock again. But before my knuckles can even meet the wood, the door flies open again and Savvy is standing there, smiling hugely at me.
“I’m just messing with you,” she says as she pulls me inside. “But I have to say, your expression was priceless. Is that the first time a woman’s ever shut the door in your face?”
I think about. “I’m pretty sure it is.”
“I figured. But hey, now you can cross it off your bucket list. Every guy needs to have the experience at least once, don’t you think?”
“I think I was good without it ever happening, actually. Definitely didn’t feel like I was missing anything.”
“Maybe not,” she concedes. But then she grins and it’s so wicked, so wild, that I can feel it all the way to my bones. “You’ve got to admit it was funny, though. God, if you could have seen your face.”
“I’d rather look at yours.” The cheesy line pops out of nowhere and I’m not sure which one of us is more shocked. Shit. What the hell is happening to me? Savvy throws me off balance just by breathing, and I don’t have a clue what I’m supposed to do to stop it.
Or even if I want to stop it. God knows, every time she opens her mouth—or closes a door in my face or spills a glass of champagne on me—it only makes me hotter. Only makes me want her more. There’s something about how she’s always doing the unexpected, always surprising me, always challenging me, that turns me on in a big fucking way.
The little white shorts and tiny red camisole don’t hurt, either.
And I know I’m not the only one, know the heat isn’t only on my side. I’ve been with enough women in my life to know when one’s attracted to me, and Savvy is, even if she doesn’t want to be.
Half of me wants to push on that a little bit, wants to see where it’ll take me if I get in her space right now. But the other half doesn’t want to risk it, not yet. Not with this woman who is a lot of things, but definitely not predictable.
Besides, I’m pretty sure my time allotment is reaching its upper limits, and I don’t doubt that Avery will come crashing through the front door in about thirty seconds if I don’t get where he can see me.
“Do you want some lemonade?” Savvy asks as she starts walking toward the kitchen.
“I’d love some. But do you mind if I hang out here while you get it?” I take a few steps to the left, making sure to line myself up directly in front of the window.
She turns to me, eyebrows raised, and I figure I might as well own up to the problem. “My babysitters like to keep an eye on me at all times,” I tell her as I point out the window.
She glances from me to where Niall, Lucas and Avery are standing on the sidewalk in their suits, eyes trained on me—and her.
I expect her to be a little annoyed—most women who aren’t crown chasers usually are—but Savvy just laughs and waves. “I’ll pour five glasses of lemonade,” she tosses over her shoulder as she makes her way to the kitchen. “Get comfortable and I’ll be right back.”
From another woman, the invitation to get comfortable would mean she’s down to fuck, but I’m pretty sure Savvy just wants me to take a seat. More’s the pity.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 18, 2017

Dear Bridget,
I’m writing this letter because it’s highly doubtful I’ll ever garner the courage to say this to your face.
So, here goes.
We’re totally wrong for each other. You’re the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I’m just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England.
But here’s the thing… for some bloody reason, I can’t stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.
I want you.
The only reason I’m even admitting all of this to you right now is because I don’t believe it’s one-sided. I notice your eyes when you look at me, too. And as crass as I appear when we’re joking around about sex, my attraction to you is not a joke.
So, what’s the purpose of this note? I guess it’s a reminder that we’re adults, that sex is healthy and natural, and that you can find me just through the door past the kitchen. More specifically, it’s to let you know that I’m leaving said door cracked open from now on in case you’d like to visit me in the middle of the night sometime.
No questions asked.
Think about it.
Or don’t.
Whatever you choose.
It’s doubtful I’ll even end up sliding this letter under your door anyway.
–Simon

•••••

REVIEW: DEAR BRIDGET, I WANT YOU by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward is a contemporary adult, stand alone , erotic, romance story line focusing on Dr. Simon Hogue, and ER nurse Bridget Valentine.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Simon and Bridget) DEAR BRIDGET, I WANT YOU follows the building relationship between ER resident Simon Hogue, and nurse Bridget Valentine. Through a series of mishaps Bridget is not only Simon’s patient and landlord, but also works side by side with the man who stirs something deep within our story line heroine. What ensues is the building romance between Simon and Bridget, and the potential fall out as Simon’s time in America comes to a close.

Bridget is a single mother; a widow whose husband was killed in a motor vehicle accident, and a woman whose entire life now centers around her eight year old son. Simon is a British citizen, spending his residency at a US hospital, and a man trying to escape the memories of the past. Our hero doesn’t do relationships, and has no plans for children or family but meeting Bridget and her son finds our hero reconsidering his future, and the possibility of a happily ever after with the woman and child he has grown to love.

The relationship between Simon and Bridget is one of immediate attraction although neither one was aware that they would be working together in the very near future. Bridget will become Simon’s landlord, and Simon will become the man that calls to our heroine’s heart. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Bridget’s son Brandon Valentine, and her best friend Calliope and husband Nigel but to add to the already close-knit affair, Calliope is also best friends with Dr. Simon Hogue.

DEAR BRIDGET, I WANT YOU is a story with plenty of sexy small talk, and fun and flirty sexual innuendo with a twist to the story line I didn’t see coming. The premise is sensual and inviting; the characters are colorful and entertaining; the romance is passionate and seductive. DEAR BRIDGET, I WANT YOU is an emotional, wondrous and intense story of romance and love.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 19, 2017

WICKED DIRTY-The second book in an all new series of fast-paced, provocative novels centering around the ambitious, wealthy, and powerful men who work in the glamorous and exciting world of the Stark International conglomerate … and the sexy and passionate women who bring them to their knees.

On the outside, Lyle Tarpin is a clean-cut Hollywood actor whose star is on the rise. Inside, he’s battling his own demons, shunning relationships and finding solace in the arms of a string of anonymous women paid very well for their discretion.

But when he’s photographed in a compromising position by an over-eager reporter, the only way to save his career is to say that the woman he was with is his fiancée. And now Lyle has to play a very public game with the only woman who’s ever managed to get under his skin.

Struggling waitress Sugar Laine agrees to spend one night with Lyle—but only because she’s desperate to save her family home. She never expects that a night of passion will turn into a pretend engagement … or that the heat between them will blossom into love.

But sometimes love has a price.

And now the only question is—can Lyle and Sugar afford to pay it?

•••••••••••

REVIEW: WICKED DIRTY is the second installment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult STARK WORLD erotic, romance series-a spin off set in the world of the author’s Stark Trilogy. This is Hollywood actor Lyle Tarpin, and waitress Sugar Laine’s story line. You do not have to have read the previous installment or the original series to follow Wicked Grind. Some of the characters including Damien and Nikki Stark cross-over or are mentioned for cohesion and familiarity.

Told from first person point of view (Sugar) and third person (Lyle) WICKED DIRTY follows the fake relationship between Hollywood actor Lyle Tarpin, and struggling waitress Sugar Laine. Lyle is desperate to keep the wolves away from his door including a sexually aggressive co-star who has the ability to make or break his rising Hollywood star. But Lyle’s history with women is colored by a past shrouded in secrets, lies and discretionary payment for $ex. Enter Sugar Laine, a down on her luck waitress who is financially struggling to pay her bills, and the woman with whom Lyle will fall in love. What ensues is the fake to real relationship between Sugar and Lyle, and the fall out when the truth is revealed.

The relationship between Lyle and Sugar begins as a paid encounter. Sugar is about to lose the only home she has ever known, and a quick influx of cash presents itself in the guise of a paid escort for a Hollywood star. Lyle is our hero; a man who knows all about the struggle to keep clothes on his back and food in his stomach, and he is determined to help Sugar pay off her loans never considering that his fake relationship would turn into something real. The $ex scenes are limited but intimate and passionate without the over the top, sexually graphic language and text. Unlike most of J. Kenner’s story lines, WICKED DIRTY presents a softer side to the $ex, love and romance trope but that’s not to say there isn’t a definite palpable sexual energy between our leading couple.

WICKED DIRTY is a heartbreaking story between two people whose pasts are awash in struggle and loss. The premise is emotional and engaging; the characters are broken, colorful and inspiring- our heroine battles her feelings for a man she believes is playing the role of his life; the romance is captivating and sensual.

Excerpt Black and Hot Pink

My blood pounds through my body, my heart beating so hard that I can feel the pressure not only against my ribs, but against the wall behind me. My lips are parted, my breath coming in shaky gasps.
He’s only inches away, so close I could reach out and touch that famous, gorgeous face. His eyes, as deep and blue as the summer sky, roam over me. He eases closer, moving slowly, his face reflecting a hunger that sends shivers through me.
Once again, my mind conjures the image of a hungry wolf. Only now I’m thinking that maybe getting eaten wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Besides, I’m here. Might as well enjoy it.
Then, of course, I remember exactly what it is.
Oh, God.
His fingertip brushes my forehead, and I almost jump out of my skin. I meet his eyes, see something that looks like irritation, and want to kick myself. I need to focus, dammit.
“You were somewhere else.” He speaks flatly, as if he’s working to keep all emotion out.
I shake my head, conjuring a lie. “I’m right here.” And then, because I’ve seen movies with call girls, I put my hand flat on his chest, trying to seem seductive. He’s wearing a gray T-shirt, and I can feel his heart beating beneath the planes of his muscled chest.
I read somewhere that he was getting in shape to play a superhero in an upcoming movie. And kudos to whoever’s orchestrating that transformation, because this guy is rock solid.
He’s still looking at me, and I fist my hand in the material of his shirt, needing an anchor against the storm of emotion I see playing out on his face. Desire. Hunger. Longing. Regret.
And pain. I see so much damn pain that I have to fight the urge to cup my palm against his cheek and tell him that whatever it is, it’s going to be okay.
Instead, I simply whisper, “Lyle?”
I’m not sure if it was the wrong thing or the right thing to say, but I know that it was unexpected. And before I can apologize or cover or say anything else at all, he is on me. One hand at my throat, the other hard on my breast. I’m pinned against the wall, helpless, as he claims my mouth again. Wildly. Brutally.
I try to think what I’m supposed to do—try to respond. But I’m trapped. I’m not Sugar. I’m not Laine. I’m not anyone. This isn’t about sex. It’s about pain and need and that storm of horrors I saw on his face. I might as well not even be here. And as his hand squeezes tight on my breast—as his mouth clashes so hard against mine that he draws blood—my only thought is that I shouldn’t have come at all. That this was stupid. Foolish. And that this night is going to leave me scarred.
I squeeze my eyes shut, trying to be what he wants. A warm body. An anonymous female.
But I can’t do it. I can’t do it at all.
All I can be is me. A woman desperate enough to have sex for money. A girl trying anything and everything to save her house. To protect her family’s memory.
I can be that girl.
But I can’t be nothing. I can’t be no one.
And as his hand tightens in my hair—as he kisses me violently—as his body presses hard against mine and I feel the steel of his erection—I know that I’ve made a terrible, horrible, awful mistake.
Stop!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 4, 2017

I’m an average girl.
He’s a famous bull rider.
He doesn’t know that I’m into him.

The first time Cash Boyd locks eyes with Erin Stone, sparks fly, and not only the clutch-at-your-sheets kind. There is something about Erin that makes him want to push her away while at the same time drives him wild for her. He’s a man of many things, but being helpless at the hands of a woman isn’t one of them. Finding himself at her mercy, he intends to make her job as hard as possible for her.

Burning with desire for the one man who’s the shadow to her light, Erin gives in to Cash’s advances…even though she could be destroyed by the truth she’s afraid to disclose. Little does she know that there is also more than meets the eye to Cash and she might just get more than she bargained for.

Cash might be the best at taming bulls, but taming her heart could prove to be the greatest challenge of his life.

REVIEW:  WILD FOR YOU is the second installment in JC Reed’s sexy, romance series focusing on the Boyd Brothers-Kellan, Cash and Ryder. This is bull-rider Cash Boyd, and physical therapist Erin Stone’s story line. WILD FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual first person points of view (Cash and Erin) WILD FOR YOU follows Cash Boyd as he struggles with the career ending accident that nearly took his life. As a professional bull-rider Cash was at the top of his game but months earlier a near fatal throw by a bull with a dangerous temper and reputation found our hero battling for his life. Fast forward to present day, and Cash Boyd comes face to face with the woman his father hired to shake some sense into his stubborn son. Enter physical therapist Erin Stone, and the woman with whom Cash would fall in love. What ensues is the tempestuous, back and forth relationship as Erin battles between her heart and her professional reputation when Cash refuses to take no for an answer.

Cash Boyd wants nothing to do with his latest physical therapist. Frustrated with the lack of progress, and his family’s attempts to ‘control’ his life, Cash is determined to make Erin’s life as miserable as his own. Erin’s time in Montana is limited to her success or failure as Cash’s therapist but leaving behind the bad memories in Chicago forces Erin to push ahead with a client who wants nothing to do with outside interference or his own ‘supposed recovery’.

The relationship between Erin and Cash is one of immediate attraction but an attraction that places Erin in a professional dilemma. Cash’s sexual innuendos and advances make our heroine uncomfortable but she is determines to prove that she is above his advances, if only for a little while. The $ex scenes are limited, intimate and intense.

We are introduced to Cash’s brothers Kellan and Ryder, and their long suffering father Sheriff Trent Boyd; Cash’s housekeeper Margaret, and his Aunt Shannon who gives our heroine some insight into the man that she loves.

WILD FOR YOU has moments of humor and fun; heartbreak and pain; romance and love. The premise is entertaining; the romance is slow to build; the characters are colorful and energetic. Cash is a stubborn, alpha male who slowly realizes that not everything in life is a battle til the end.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 12, 2017

Where there’s smoke…

Stirling Gradsky abandoned the corporate rat race for a more laidback lifestyle. So it’s ironic she’s partnered with a hard-bodied, know-it-all scientist who treats her like a stoner instead of a stone cold business woman capable of running a large scale marijuana farm. Dr. Hot and Tattooed with the big…brain needs to stop sampling their product; he’s under the half-baked idea that he’s the boss.

Dr. Liam Argent’s doctorate isn’t in chemistry, but from the moment he meets his sexy new coworker, there’s enough heat between them to short out all the grow lights in the greenhouse. First item on his agenda? Clearing up the sassy, blunt blonde’s hazy notion that she’s in charge.

Sparks fly as their attraction blazes. But can they weed out their differences without getting burned?

REVIEW: TRIPPED OUT by Lorelei James is the September 2017 novella (8.5) in the author’s Blacktop Cowboy erotic, romance series, and the latest installment in the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights anthology series. This is scientist and researcher Dr. Liam Argent, and businesswoman Stirling Gradsky’s story line. TRIPPED OUT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Stirling and Liam) TRIPPED OUT follows the acrimonious relationship between researcher and scientist Dr. Liam Argent, and businesswoman Stirling Gradsky. Liam is a researcher and developer at High Society-a cannabis operation center in Denver, Colorado, owned and operated by siblings Stirling and Macon Gradsky. But from their first introduction Stirling and Liam have played a dangerous game of push and pull, practical jokes and pranks, name calling, and harsh words meant to offend and disparage. The palpable sexual tension does not go unnoticed until Macon Gradsky forces the bickering co-workers to work together toward a common goal. What ensues is the building sexual relationship between our leading couple.

TRIPPED OUT is a story that focuses on the legal marijuana industry in Denver Colorado. The author has done her homework as it pertains to the ins and outs of operating a weed growing and distribution center, as well as the inclusion of some scientific facts and figures. Liam and Stirling not only work at High Society but they are regular users of the recreational drug including the food products infused with the marijuana oil. With the addition of highly caffeinated drinks such as Red Bull, Mountain Dew, and weed infused Cola drinks, our leading couple spend most of their time docile, high or fighting over snacks and food.

TRIPPED OUT detours from the author’s usual Blacktop Cowboy story lines in that the premise does not focus on the farms, the rodeo or the ranch hands but on the controversial industry of legalized marijuana . The premise is entertaining and interesting; the characters are cute; the romance is seductive and passionate but got lost in the vast amount of detail concerning the growing of recreational and medicinal marijuana.

excerpt

Cocky asshat. “Both.” She smiled. “From the moment you strolled in here, you’ve acted uptight and holier-than-thou. It reminded me of me a few years ago and I hated the reminder. Then you were stubborn about cooperating with me—”
“Or you refused to do things my way, as I saw it,” he interjected, “but go on.”
“And I started pranking you, expecting you’d ignore it. But you embraced it. You even surpassed me on a few occasions. So…” Shut up, Stirling. You’ve already said too much.
“So…?” he prompted.
“I was surprised you gave as good as you got.”
His gaze encompassed her face before he trained his focus entirely on her lips.
“What?”
“You have no idea how much I want to prove how good I can give it to you.”
Boom. It was as if a thunderclap cleared the air between them, leaving energy crackling in the space, buzzing and ready for lightning to strike at any moment.
“Stirling.”
That voice. Pure sex. Her mind screamed at her to retreat, but her body, lulled by the warmth of his muscular leg pressing into hers, refused to budge. “But…you’ve always acted like I’m beneath you.”
“I’ve always wanted you beneath me.” He angled his head until his mouth touched the spot below her ear.
She didn’t want to break the spell, but she trembled when his lips journeyed down the side of her neck. “I didn’t think you were attracted to me,” she said on a near whisper.
“And I didn’t think you were an idiot, Miss Gradsky.”
Stirling froze.
Then Liam was nose to nose with her, his eyes fierce behind his glasses. “You are a beautiful woman. Stunningly beautiful when you smile, cunningly beautiful when you’ve got that devious look in your eyes. You’re intelligent and clever, and I’d be a fool not to be attracted to you.”
“And you, Dr. Liam Argent, are no fool,” she whispered.
“Exactly.” He smiled. “So the question is… What do we do about it?”
Take a step back?
Or take a leap of faith?

Well, I’m a fourth generation South Dakotan, living in the Black Hills, which is chock-full of interesting characters, including cowboys, Indians, ranchers, and bikers. The geographical diversity of the surrounding area showcases mountains, plains, and badlands. Living in and writing about rural settings gives me a unique perspective, especially since I’m not writing historical westerns. Through my fictional world, I can show the ideals and the cowboy way of life are still very much alive.”

Good thing the sexy veterinarian is right there to coach him on how to be a farmer. The only problem is, Laken’s not looking for anything more than a good time, while Jake is looking for his forever girl.

Will the baby goat, and Laken, be enough to get Jake to stay? Or will he take his tax break and hoof it back to Chicago? One thing is for certain…what happens on the farm doesn’t always stay on the farm.

••••••••

REVIEW: BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE is the third installment in Juliette Poe’s (Sawyer Bennett) contemporary, adult SEX AND SWEET TEA romance series focusing on the Mancinkus siblings. This is veterinarian Laken Mancinkus, and former pro football player Jake McDaniel’s story line. BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from four first person points of view (Laken, Jake, Pap and Herman- the dog) BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE follows the building relationship between veterinarian and hometown girl Lake Mancinkus, and businessman and former professional football player Jake McDaniel. Jake McDaniel lives and works in Chicago but a business opportunity and potential tax write-off presented itself in Whynot, NC with the purchase of a local goat farm. But Jake McDaniel knows nothing about farming including the raising of baby goats. Enter Whynot’s veterinarian Laken Mancinkus, the woman with whom Jake will fall in love but a woman determined to never leave Whynot again. What ensues is the building love between two people whose relationship is destined to fail when neither one is willing to compromise about the future.

BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE is a sweet story of romance, family, and small town sensibilities for one woman who has been there, done that and came back with her tail tucked between her legs. Laken has been burned by a previous relationship and struggles with the possibility of a happily ever after. Jake McDaniel is a former football star whose time in the pros was cut short by a career ending injury. Investments and the potential to help out his family find our hero investing in a farm he knows nothing about.

The relationship between Jake and Laken is one of immediate attraction although neither one is impressed upon their first meeting. Jake is a man willing to give a long distance relationship a try; Laken believes there is no happy ending when neither one is willing to concede or talk about their possible futures. The $ex scenes are all implied and fade to black.

Most of the previous story line characters play secondary and supporting characters including Laken’s siblings: Colt, Trixie, Laken’s twin Larken, Lowe and Melinda, as well as their grandfather Pap. Although I am probably in the minority, I have difficulty with the ‘animal point of view’-it’s just me, but the child-like perspective doesn’t belong in an adult story line.

BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE is another endearing story of romance; a sweet and simple story about love, family and a happily ever after. The premise is charming; the characters are colorful; the romance is comfortable and sweet. The story line conflict comes in the wake of two stubborn people refusing to look at the bigger picture.
