There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Trent (shifter), Evander (psychic), as well as Harper, Kingston, Drake and Rowan (Bad Witch #1), and Kingston’s father Voss. The requisite evil has many faces.

BAD OMEN is a quick read; a highly erotic, sexually graphic story of one woman’s baser needs, and the men who are willing to ‘sacrifice’ themselves for the greater cause. The premise is interesting; the characters are numerous and colorful; the romance is limited as their needs are controlled by a powerful pull.

Shelley turned her head, looking between them both. “You know I thought it was weird that neither one of you looks a thing like your father.”
Wolf shrugged. He was happy about that. “Guess we took after Ma’s side.”
“Nope. I spent the afternoon looking through pictures of Cassidy’s family while we played with beets. They’re all small. She said Robert’s people were, too.”
Leo sighed. “We’re not aliens, Shell.”
Oh, god, had his mother gotten to her? “No alien DNA here.”
She shrugged, a teasing smile on her lips. “I don’t know. You seem smarter and faster and more agile than the normal human. And hey, I wouldn’t mind if my kids got an edge because their dads had some freaky genetics.”
She laughed and threw her arms around Leo, kissing him soundly. She turned and gave Wolf the same treatment.
He could actually see several play scenarios where being half-alien might be fun.
“Hey, I have about thirty minutes before I have to drink beet juice. Why don’t we have one last crazy fling before we’re boring old married people?” Shelley asked, a glint in her eye.
Wolf knew just the place. “There’s a big closet where Zane keeps the dry goods.”
He started to lead them back, finding the door and hauling them all in. He shut the door and turned on the small light. Thank god Lucy, Zane’s waitress, was as obsessively, compulsively clean as his brother. The storage room was pin neat and had enough space for what he needed to do.
“Shouldn’t we turn the lights off?” Shelley asked.
Leo stared at her. “Shouldn’t you take your clothes off?”
Yep, he was already in Dom mode. That was plain to see. “Hurry, baby. He’ll spend all his time spanking you and then we won’t get to the part where I feel some small amount of relief for my aching dick.”
It was only the truth. He’d been hard for days. The premise is intriguing, engaging and spicy; the characters are energetic and sassy; the romance is sensitive and spirited but quickly turns into a love triangle that could end tragically for one of our story line characters. How had the night come to this? Until Cain, she had never hooked up with a stranger. And, until Mike, she had never thought she would want to do something so reckless again. But now, here she was, torn, confused, and ready to throw caution to the wind.
“He likes you,” Cain said matter-of-factly.
“Oh?” She averted her eyes, not wanting him to see how much she liked Mike too.
“I told you he would.” He took a final drag on his cigar, then stamped it out in the ashtray. “And you like him.”
“No, I—”
“You don’t need to deny it.”
“I’m not denying—” She cut off cold when she looked up to find Cain wearing a mischievous grin, his gaze dark and heated, as if he found this development intensely arousing.
Her voice went into lockdown. Not only did it appear that Cain didn’t mind her interest in Mike, but he was actually turned on by it.

Maybe she had played her life a little too safely. And, sure, maybe her agoraphobia had something to do with that, but would it be so bad to get a little wild and crazy? Maybe she would even like it.
Her breathing deepened as Cain closed the space between them.
“Is that so hard to believe, Rayna?” he asked, playing his fingers through her long hair. “That you could have two men instead of one?”
“I…” She looked at him, then glanced back at Mike.
Was this really happening?
Cain’s index finger traced the shell of her ear as he leaned closer. “That two men find you desirable enough to want to share you?”
She drew her bottom lip between her teeth and shyly bowed her head, unable to look at either of them.
Cain brushed back her hair, lightly swept his lips up her cheek, then whispered against her ear, “If you think what I did to you on New Year’s Eve was good, it was nothing compared to what Storm and I can do to you together.”
She drew in her breath. God, he smelled good. Like vanilla, tobacco, and spicy deodorant. She dragged in another luscious inhale of his scent as every nerve ending in her body lit up.
He tipped his forehead to her temple. “In that lovely Dear John note you left me, you said I’d been just what you needed, right when you needed it. Can you imagine how liberated you’ll feel tomorrow morning if you let us show you how much more there is to see?”
“I… uh…” She tried not to tremble as his lips caressed her brow.
His scruffy cheek drifted lower, scraping hers.
Closing her eyes, she let her cheek rub provocatively against his. In her mind, she was already beneath him, her legs and arms already around him, his body already rocking hard against hers.
She was hardly breathing, overwhelmed by his closeness and the heat of his body burning into hers.
A soft, rumbling moan of approval rose in his throat, making her lips part on a sigh.
The chemistry between them was as she remembered. He barely had to touch her to excite her.

Mike finished his game, collected his winnings, and stuffed the wad of cash in his pocket without looking at it. Then he started for the table, his gaze locked to hers with enough fire to double down on the inferno Cain had already ignited.
Cain’s fingertips trailed higher, stopping midway up her inner thigh, setting off all kinds of delightful warning bells inside her body as the invisible link between her and Mike intensified.
She held her breath.

REVIEW: Biker Babe is a romantic novel set in Oregon. This story has strong characters, dialog is well done. The story is a quick read and full of very hot love scenes. This book makes a lot of introduction of the characters in the Hero’s Pride MC. This group’s members are all ex-military or police. They are all good guys, not criminals, but really tough.

This is the story of Shayla and Rex. Shayla is the daughter of the president of the Oregon chapter of Hero’s Pride and so is the club princess. Rex has joined the Oregon chapter after leaving his father’s club in California. He’s not happy about the direction his father is taking that club and has left and joined the Oregon chapter. He’s now the new VP.

The story begins as Shayla opens her dream, a boutique for bikers. She has all the great merchandise and the club helped her renovate the building. They meet when Rex brings his new patch to her shop to have it sown on. He sees her in the window and falls immediately in love…

She’s arguing with an ex-boyfriend she’s kicked to the curb. He keeps hounding and stalking her. Rex takes exception to the way he’s talking to Shayla and breaks his nose. She falls for him about the same way he did for her, then she finds out he’s the new VP. She thinks her dad and the guys will not approve, since she’s their princess and tries to warn him off.

Okay, that’s the set up and pretty much the gist of the story. The details are great. The plans and forthcoming events are a great start to this series.

If you like motorcycle stories, but love good guys, this is your happy place!

REVIEW: Don’t Breathe a Word begins with Detective Juan Acosta losing everything in the blink of an eye. One moment, he and his sweet pregnant wife are sharing a poignant moment together and the next moment, his life changed forever. Scarred, inside and out, from the explosion that killed his burgeoning family, Juan works the cold cases day in and day out. He is only merely existing and hanging on by his need for revenge.

One night, he sees an intruder trying to break into his new neighbor’s back door and goes to investigate. When the intruder throws a bbq grill at him, his vision is compromised as another attacker engages him. As he wrestles with the newest threat, he is stunned to see that not only is it a woman, but it is his neighbor who has mistaken him for the intruder who is long gone now. Once all of the confusion is sorted out, he knows one thing for sure about his new neighbor: “Nicki” is scared…………

Vicki, aka Nicki, is scared that the one she ran from, along with her niece, have found them once again. She swore to keep her safe, and if she has to run again, she’ll do it. However, once she and her niece get to know Juan, it doesn’t take either of them long to surmise that not only is he a good guy, but he will do whatever he needs to to keep them safe.

Don’t Breathe a Word is a nicely written story with great characters. Vicki is strong and independent, but she’s also wary and tired. She doesn’t trust easily, which causes a few misunderstandings along the way. You fall in love with Juan immediately. His grief is palpable, but so are his growing feelings for Vicki and her niece. The secondary characters are well written and engaging. The world Craig has built is one of family and second chances and leaves you wanting more and holding your breath until the very end. This is the first I’ve ready by this author but look so forward to reading more. Well done, Christie Craig! Very well done!

REVIEW: SHADOWS OF THE PAST by Carly Fall is part of the multi-authored SAINTS GROVE paranormal series focusing on the town of Saint’s Grove, Virginia in the aftermath of a total lunar eclipse, and the alignment of the planets, that will open a portal to the otherworld releasing all mythical beings for an epic battle of Good versus Evil. This is the Angel of Death Jayden, and bakery owner Arabella ‘Bella’ Franklin’s story line-a time travel, second chance romance.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Jayden and Bella) using present day and memories from the past, SHADOWS OF THE PAST follows the rekindling romance between Jayden and Arabella, a love affair that was destroyed centuries earlier, but a love that has withstood the test of time. Arabella finds herself caught up in the chaos following the alignment of the planets, only to come face to face with a wingless angel, an angel who knows more about Arabella that she could have ever imagined. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Jayden and Bella, and the potential fall-out as Bella finds herself targeted by someone from the past.

Bella Franklin has lived two lives, and in both lives our heroine has fallen in love with her would-be protector. Centuries earlier Arabella was forced into a marriage with an abusive man who ended her life but not before our heroine fell in love with her guardian knight. Fast forward to present day wherein Arabella’s past comes seeking revenge forcing Jayden to beg Heaven for a chance to protect the woman he loves.

SHADOWS OF THE PAST is a second chance romance; a rekindling relationship destroyed by power, control, torture and abuse. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are strong, energetic and colorful; the romance is seductive, passionate and intense but I struggled with the use of a certain four-letter word I don’t feel is necessary in a romance story line. Carly Fall pulls the reader into a fascinating and enchanting look at the paranormal.
